Taking one last glance back at Prometheus and IIshavoh the Princess lets out a small snort, then leaves the archives building. She had originally set out to learn more about the station as a whole, but like most of her other ventures out into the public it had dragged her into conflict. When she had gone through a stroll through the market she had almost been tackled by the little alien girl Hana. That encounter had then led to a good deal of negotiations between the two females and a rather sketchy plant vendor. It was true the incident had ended with no real violence, but still trouble had found the Princess. Then the next night after her loss to Ninjin she had tried to venture out and enjoy a quiet meal. It had been going well until Conri Lane walked in off the street. She had not minded him at first, but when it was revealed his cousins had attempted to rig the tournament in the royal families favor the two had...a slight altercation. What was it about her that drew this attention?
Done with the fool IIshavoh she needed to focus on the matter at hand, Celeh. The soldier had acted very uncharacteristicly when dealing with the bio-android and although a good amount of it had been explained Akassa wanted to discuss the matter a little more. She was able to understand the girls compassion and anger, but that didn't mean he actions were acceptable. What if they had been in a more dangerous situation and the Saiyan's actions had provoked an unwanted enemy? If the soldier wanted to reach above her station and escape the shackles she had been born with than controlling her emotions was paramount.
With her scouter now on and activated Akassa was able to track her partner through the crowd. Gently but firmly weaving her way through the busy crowd the Princess worked her way towards Celeh. It was towards the middle of the day on Alpha Prime, even if there was never a sun in the sky, and the streets were busy. The tournament had attracted many to the station, vendors from all over having arrived in order to sell their goods to those celebrating the coming New Year and enjoying the festivities. Akassa could not wait to return to New Vegeta.
Finally catching up to the other female she falls into step beside her, taking a glance over at her before speaking.
"Is everything alright Celeh? I understand your anger, but you must remember there are many eyes on us and any sort of...regrettable action will be noticed." There was honest concern in her voice for the warriors well being, but also wanting the female to understand she was not to lash out as she almost had at IIshavoh. They were partners and perhaps becoming friends, but when it came down to it Akassa was in charge and her words should ultimately decided their actions.

Even though she was out of the room and away from IIshavoh, Celeh's aura didn't calm down. It was still seething, steaming fury that wafted off of her body like steam from boiling water. As the Princess neared her, she had to grit her teeth just to keep from saying something immediately that she might have regretted. She stopped in her tracks and closed her eyes for a moment. Akassa didn't know anything. She didn't understand. Those were just empty words to try and comfort Celeh. Still, their intent was overshadowed by their falsehood. As far as Celeh knew, Akassa hadn't lost anyone close to her like that, let alone one of her brothers. She turned to face the Princess directly.
With all the self control she could muster, and her voice was still shaky and clearly full of emotion, she asked... "Do you really think you understand? As far as I can tell you still have your brothers. And I understand that we are under much more scrutiny because you are a Princess and I'm associated with the crown, but this is something I cannot stop. I cannot resist it... I'll do whatever it takes to find the one responsible for my brother's death, and the one responsible for that weapon's creation as well, and destroy them both."
She took a breath, doing her best to speak in hushed tones, "Ever since I found out about the tournament I had a strong hunch that the android would either be entered into the tournament or at least be present there to scope out valuable targets. I know it was created specifically to kill saiyans because of the autopsy report on how my brother died. With the royal family being present as well as the draw for strong fighters, it'd be the kind of place for a mercenary or an assassin to really make some money. Zex announced that the matches would be non-fatal. I know it's a long shot, but that may be our best lead. If we can find the fighters that dropped out before the first round, we may have something."
Even after holding her tongue for so long on so many occasions, and climbing her way up from nothing to be a servant of the crown directly, this was one issue where she would not budge. She knew deep down that whoever was responsible was on this station somewhere. The tournament itself was too big an opportunity to pass up, even if the android wasn't entered into the tournament specifically. "I may be angry...furious, even...but I'm not stupid...and I have been thinking about what to do. I don't expect you to help if you don't want to. Especially not after the way I've acted today. I will wait until the tournament's end, though. Security will have died down by that point. But first we'd need the records of the fighters who abandoned the tournament before the first preliminary matches."
Clearly there had been a lot on her mind, and it wasn't necessarily that IIshavoh had been the real reason for her anger. He had simply sparked a huge pile of explosives, in a manner of speaking, and it brought all of this to the surface. Still, it forced Celeh to talk through her thoughts and now Akassa would be at least mostly up to speed on what had gone through the soldier's head as of late.

As Celeh turns to face her the Princess stops as well, looking her bodyguard in the eye. The emotion in her voice was obvious and the slightly aggressive tone had Akassa narrowing her eyes a little. She liked the girl, but that did not give her the freedom to speak as you wished especially in public. Her mouth almost opened to remind the female, but as soon as she mentions her brother she decides against it. Akassa had not forgotten about the girl’s brother and the fact he had been murdered, the sad tale causing the Princess to hold her tongue.
Crossing her arms over her chest she wasn’t so sure that the culprit would be in the tournament or even on Alpha Prime, but she would not voice the opinion. Clenching her jaw she continues to listen, letting her partner vent some of her frustrations and share her opinions. When she states that she didn’t expect Akassa to help the soldier was making the wrong assumption, for Akassa understood the importance of family. If Ninjin or Leke were somehow murdered the Princess would stop at nothing to personally take care of the one responsible. She may not have lost her brother like Celeh, but she felt she could still understand how the warrior felt, at least to a point. When she was done Akassa speaks up.
”No, I have not lost either of my brothers or anyone in my family for that matter. Yet I feel I can understand where you are coming from, do you think I cannot see the situation from your point of view? If I didn’t understand your outbursts at least a little I would have smacked you already for acting so unprofessional.” Akassa let that sink in for a moment before continuing, wanting Celeh to understand she wasn’t all together pleased with her actions so far.
”I need to be able to trust you Celeh and trust that you will not act simply out of emotion, I hope you understand that. After our first spar I promised I would help you if I had the chance. Now, your idea sounds like a stretch, but I am willing to assist you if you truly believe it might lead to some answers. Did you have an idea of where we might get a hold of a list of those that dropped out?”
Her arms were still crossed over her chest as she awaited the girls answer. If Celeh wanted this then Akassa would help her with it, even give her the lead for now. The soldier wanted to get to the bottom of her brother’s death, an understandable desire, and while the Princess would help she would not do the work for her. Celeh probably wouldn’t have it any other way.

Celeh didn't respond at first. The Princess's reaction had been better than she expected, but somehow it still stung deep in her heart. Could Akassa really understand how she felt? That question alone made her question the Princess's loyalty to her retainer. It was easy to understand from a soldier's point of view. Retainers were there to protect their rulers, not the other way around. But a certain degree of loyalty in the opposite direction is required or trust will be faulty and issues will arise. That being said, what Akassa added after that broke down any trust barriers that Celeh had. She knew that the Princess would not speak lightly on matters like this especially if she were really trying to calm the soldier down. It wouldn't make since to do or say something to rile Celeh up further if she needed her to not lose control of her emotions.
In that moment Celeh turned away from Akassa fully and clenched both her fists. "I appreciate your directness on this matter and that you would help me even when you aren't obligated to. I promise that I will repay you in some way when I am able to do so. But I also want to explain a little more...about what has been going through my mind ever since we arrived here...ever since my last battle in the tournament." She took a deep breath and turned back around to face Akassa, "Fighting is in our nature, but this tournament has stressed me out far more than I care to admit. It isn't the fighting that has caused me such duress, though, but rather what the fighting has revealed to me. I realized that I've spent my whole life fighting for reasons that aren't my own, to obtain goals I didn't set, and for purposes that, most of the time, I am never told. Don't ever think that I would abandon you or your family, Princess, as I will always hold allegiance to the crown, but I am tired of living my life by someone else's standards and codes. It may not happen today, but some time in the near future I will take my path into my own hands."
Her words were bold and determined, but the venom from before had almost faded completely from her tone. It seemed that Akassa had relieved that part of her tension at least enough so that she could think and understand where the Princess was coming from. "That being said, I thank you for coming after me and talking. I know this conversation hasn't been very long, but if you hadn't caught up to me and said something I may have acted rashly. I admit that I don't like that android we encountered, but my hatred isn't meant for him even if he deserved it."

The Princess was doing her best to be patient, and to her credit she was giving the retainer much more leeway then she usually gave those serving under her. Admittedly the female Saiyan was different then most she had command over. Their first encounter together beyond her father’s chamber was a sparring match followed by a discussion in the Princess’ private quarters. What Akassa had learned in that short while had brought her surprisingly close to Celeh, even if the Princess was not sure the soldier felt the same. The two were not best friends yet she felt that in many ways they were similar, both having had to prove themselves countless times to those around them. Perhaps it was because Akassa never had a sister or known that many female warriors that she was naturally drawn to Celeh as a partner…either way the girl was granted more patients then the average Saiyan.
”I will always be honest and direct with you Celeh, even if what I have to say is not what you wish to hear. We already agreed the two of us were partners more than anything else and partners assist each other. I will help you with this just as you will help me with whatever I need, no debts shall be tracked between us.” Stopping for a moment, making sure she still had the soldier’s full attention she then continues, hoping not to upset the female with her words. ”In terms of finding your own path I have no problem with that as long as your allegiance remains to myself and the crown. For my entire life I have believed that the needs of the many come before the needs of the individual. I serve the crown so that my Father can best serve his people. I do not doubt you have goals of your own, but like me your desires come second to that of New Vegeta.”
Akassa was not sure how the warrior was going to handle the statement, but seeing she had calmed a little she didn’t expect any kind of outburst. Of course that didn’t mean Celeh was going to respond nicely. Again Akassa had been understanding and patient with the girl, but the soldier would be wise to not offend the Princess with her response. With the tournament now over and no direct orders from her father or the military they were both free to pursue the soldiers hunch as long as nothing else came up. Before leaving Alpha Prime Akassa would help her partner if she was able, even if assisting her lead down a dangerous path.

Celeh's focus did not waiver in the slightest. She was listening to what Akassa had to say. Part of her felt that she could find some deeper answers in the Princess's words, almost like a temporary solution to sate her emotions for the time being. And in a way, she did. She let the Princess completely finish speaking before she shook her head, "I cannot fully agree with that statement, Princess. Your wording is a bit off." She chuckled lightly and took a deep breath, finally starting to relax again. "It's not the desires of our home that I'm interested in fulfilling. Rather, I'm looking to secure its needs and not its wants. Though the two often are synonymous, they are not always, especially in the case of the greater good. Don't you agree?"
She took a look around where they currently were and frowned, "Our first and best bet to get the information we need will likely to contact the one responsible for the tournament. I realize that's a very difficult thing to do considering that I'm certain Zex will not be an easy person to get a meeting with. We did just witness him appearing in public rather freely, though, so perhaps it won't be so difficult after all. Do you have any clue where he resides on this place?" She crossed her arms and glanced around again, frowning as she knew that her chances were even more slim than she originally thought. She almost regretted explaining her plans to Akassa, as now she felt like a fool. It was quite frustrating... "

Glad the soldier was relaxing a little Akassa took a glance around; no real attention having been drawn to them even with the Saiyan’s slightly raised voice. On the streets of Alpha Prime there were always multiple conversations and interactions going on in close proximity, most tended to mind their own and move on. It was a good philosophy, one Akassa was thinking about adopting seeing as she had been dragged into several different incidents due to not turning a deaf ear.
The Princess seems to tense just slightly as Celeh starts speaking, but it was only a passing reaction as the Saiyan further explains herself. ”Yes, I can agree to that. There are many times the general populace thinks they need something when in fact they merely desire it. That is the reason the Royal family takes so much time to release statements about most incidents, we do not wish to rush anything.” Beyond that her family always made sure of its statements to save face should anything turn out to be more than it originally seemed, they couldn’t have the King being seen in any sort of negative light.
Nodding some to the females words Akassa lifts several inches off the ground. If Celeh wished to speak with Prometheus Zex then there was no need to beat around the bush to do so. Sneaking around or using back channels to gain information in a situation like this was beneath the both of them. Having studied the layout of Alpha Prime before taking the trip for the tournament she was certain she knew where the home of the alien lord was. Smiling at Celeh she motions for her to follow.”His residence is in the area known as Monarch Heights, let us pay him a visit. I would be very surprised if he would deny the daughter of King Tsuyo a small audience. Once inside we can ask whatever you wish.” It might not be the best idea for them to take such a headstrong approach, but Celeh was most likely well aware of how direct Akassa tended to be.

"Being a soldier, politics and maintaining appearances is something I've learned to a notable degree. At least in regards to keeping morale up. A commanding officer never releases information to his soldiers in a scenario where it could only hurt morale and not help their situation. They do their best to keep the orders flowing so that soldiers don't have time to think about who might be dead, alive, or running straight to their death so everyone else can escape. It's harsh to think that way, but sometimes one has to be sacrificed to save many. I've never experienced war first hand, but I have been in many battles and more than a few war scale battle simulations..." She chuckled lightly as she recalled days not so long ago doing heavy training regimens with her platoon.
"Anyway, you seem to know your way around this station better than me, Princess. If you wouldn't mind leading the way, we'll get this taken care of in due course and then hopefully we can be off this places and forget about it until the next tournament rolls around..." She had no intention of making that an order, which is why she had requested it rather than stated it. "And thank you again, Akassa...for helping me...and for understanding, or at least trying to understand, how I feel."
In an odd way, Celeh was beginning to think of Akassa less as her superior and more as a sister of sorts. The Princess could read her quite well, and she felt that she could understand Akassa at least to some small degree as well. She could certainly understand the Princess more than her brothers when it came to most things, or so she believed.
(End thread. New thread will be up in Monarch Heights soon. Requesting Zeni for this one.)
