The smaller man, now the only one remaining of the two, struck William hard and fast. His greyed skin moved in flashes as he pummeled the boy, much how Ninjin would the shadow monster moments later. Summoning all his might he grabbed one fist in his hand, then the other. Drazi struggled against his partner’s murderer, but would find no reprieve as Wilie used all his might clenching them. So into the fight at hand, William had not even remembered the heavy weights he adorned. If he had not gotten lucky against Kathos, he would have surely died because of them.
But one could hardly be surprised, the boy was hardly a warrior, having only just begun his training with Vespasian. The weights would have their effect though, as Drazi would begin pressing forth, pushing William back up against the debris of the building. “I will avenge Kathos and then I’ll make good on his promise to visit your family!” he spat in anger, consumed with overpowering the boy and pounding him out of existence.
“You will NOT TOUCH THEM!” the boy screamed, his anger and desperation triggering his vice shout, and his ki amplified the sound waves of his words. Directed right at Drazi the man stumbled back as his ear’s began to rang. “You will fail JUST LIKE YOUR PARTNER!” he screamed again, then again and again, wailing like a siren straight into the man’s face. Soon his eardrums would shatter and he would writhe in agony as silence became him. He dropped to a knee as Willie still clutched his fists, pushing him down. Then the blood vessels in his eyes would burst, reddening them as the sonic waves overwhelmed him.
“Stay down,” finally he would fall, limp and unconscious, his body no longer able to handle the pressure. Releasing his hands, William would look up with his crimson eyes and witness Ninjin striking the demon in the chest with familiar fists of ki. They seemed to be doing more damage than his vanishing beam had done; causing him to evaporate before simply reforming. Then he saw one of the demon’s fingers piercing the saiyan’s shoulder. Perhaps that’s why his strikes were harming him, because the demon needed to be tangible to strike?
He howled in pain as he fought through it, but William would tell whatever the move was doing, it was wearing Ninjin down fast. Then an idea and he hoped it would work. Lifting a solitary palm he would unleash the symmetric beam of red, straight at the monster before him. As soon as it struck him he would once more vanish into vapor, relieving Ninjin of whatever ailed him. Leaping from Drazi’s unconscious body, Willie unleashed a vice shot upon the demon. A cone of enhanced sound waves scrambled the demon as he reformed, and William put every ounce of strength into sustaining it.
It was his only chance as the demon was far stronger than he. The boy only hoped the move gave Ninjin enough time to recover. As his energy dwindled he would release the sonic hold on the demon, before stepping forth, as if to strike him. The demon smiled wickedly, adding “Fool, now you shall be the first to die.” Lunging forward as William lazily attacked, he drove his finger now into the apparent human’s spine. If he had one, however it had the desired effect as his mound became overwhelmed by all the sins he had committed.
"Bring it on!" All the evil that was Zasham washed over again and again, burning away part of his soul with each ebb. Dropping to a knee, he grasped the demons arms with both hands; holding his shifting body in physical form. The boy only hoped he had given Ninjin the time he needed to recover, and that he could capitalize on the monster’s tangibility. He was not sure how long his mind could survive the wickedness of the demon within.

As quickly as the pain in his shoulder had come, it was gone. The prince’s fist passed through the shadow demon as he dematerialized from the young human’s blast. Using his momentum he rolled through it, and came up in a crouch. William yelled at the demon, far louder than Ninjin thought he himself could have. It seemed to have an effect, not allowing the demon to reform once again. They seemed to have figured the demon out, he needed to reform in order to hit them, and if they wanted to hit it… Ninjin brought his hands to his side. Willie was granting him the time he needed to recharge, he wouldn’t let it go to waste.
The demon smiled wickedly, even from his position Ninjin could see that and guess at what he was thinking. William was too close not to attempt to finish off first, and what a better demoralizer for the prince than to see the one he was trying to rescue finished off, himself powerless to stop it. But he wasn’t powerless yet. And Willie still had a trick or two up his sleeve. The demon struck the young human in the spine, and his haunting words from before came back to the prince. It is not often someone survives that technique. Would the young human be able to hold out?
Through pain-blurred eyes the prince cold see the human struggling with the demon. How in the world had he grown so strong? It was very impressive. Ninjin had been right, there was more to him than met the eye. They struggled against each other, locked in a hellacious grapple as the prince began to calmly walk forward.
He reckoned there was an explanation waiting for him from Willie when this was all over. Starting with what the hell was in that box and why these three gentlemen, one a shadow demon, wanted it. Also, why did they know who he was? Although, perhaps it wasn’t his place to know. He was just glad he was here to stop them from killing Willie. The prince stopped when he was standing right behind the shadow demon. He crouched down and fired the energy he had been building in an angle so as to not hit Willie. He let it pour from his hands and felt the last of his energy go with it. If this didn’t kill the damn thing he didn’t know what would.
When he was finished he sat on the ground, unable to keep standing any longer. He was still conscious, though the wound in his side and the two holes in him were throbbing and threatening to pull him into the realm of unconscious should he not fight back. He just hoped the damn demon was gone, as he hadn’t opened his eyes to check.

Thankfully the saiyan prince had taken to the boy’s impromptu plan, immediately gathering energy upon his interference. By the time he had grappled the shadow demon, in an attempt to force him to take physical form, Ninjin had already gathered a decent amount of ki. ”Good,” Willie thought to himself with a sigh of relief. It was taking that last of what remained of his energy to restrain the powerful foe while simultaneously resisting his psionic assault.
He circled the blue behemoth slowly, taking the extra time perhaps to make sure he had enough to get the job done. William only wished he too could blast at the demon in his arms, trying to gnaw at his face, yet had nothing left to fire at him. Despite the internal agony of seeing Zasham’s atrocities again and again, as a result of the monster’s piercing jab, he held himself together long enough for Ninjin to attain a proper position so as to not make Willie collateral damage. Something the boy quite appreciated.
“Nobody steals from me…” William murmured barely able to hold on as the demon’s touch took its toll. It was only now, in his waning consciousness, that he came aware of the heavily weighted gladiatorial equipment still strapped to him. If only there had been time during the fight to drop the cumbersome weights and utilize his full power. However Drazi and Kathos had been on him the whole time, barely giving him time to breath nonetheless to drop the weights.
And then he had to react to Ninjin’s plight, or he would have succumbed to the demon’s nightmare inducing technique, so he struck and struck fast, with everything at his disposal. Thus they were in their current predicament, with Willie fading fast and the saiyan prince taking care to make sure the next blow would be the final one. The light was beginning to fade from the apparent human’s eyes, the crimson and black reverting to his usual blue and white. Then he felt a wave of energy wash over him as it enveloped the demon.
Forced into physical form by the technique which tortured the boy, and held in said state by the boy’s grasp, the energy burned away the behemoth as he bellowed with anger and pain. “You think you can kill me!?” he howled as the ki flowed from the saiyan’s hands. “I am beyond death FOOLS! I will return and when I do, I’m coming for your SOULS!” he spat with venom as the light began to evaporate the darkness.
With one final push, Ninjin forced the last of his power out, and it was enough to eviscerate the shadow demon, his presence exiting with one final, hellacious roar. As he dissipated, his nightmarish hold on the boy’s mind relinquished, and Willie fell to his knees, just as Ninjin dropped to his ass. Both were spent, so much so that neither looked to even see if the fight was over, perhaps knowing that on the off chance that it was not, then they were done for anyways.
“…For your souls…” a faint echo of the demon’s final words whispered into his ear, causing a cold chill to run the length of his would be spine. It was then that the boy remembered Ninjin’s first words upon their meeting, before all this trouble began. Between gasps, whilst still looking at the ground as he regained his bearings, he finally responded, “Whether or not you used to be an ‘ass,’ you’re a good man now.” Before continuing he would sit back, much like the saiyan, and look over to him. “Thank you, Ninjin Hattori, for your help, though I am sorry you got dragged into that…”

“You think you can kill me” The demon had roared as Ninjin’s energy coursed through it. “I am beyond death fools. I will return and when I do I’m coming for your SOULS!” The voice had seemed to come as if from right behind him, whispering in his ear instead of the demon he was shooting energy through currently. His eyes were shut tightly as he loosed his remaining energy, not stopping despite the demon having gone silent. Then he fell to his ass and kept his eyes shut. If the thing wasn’t dead, then he was, and this is what he got for his first truly selfless act… death. And a no doubt painful one at that. Ninjin very gingerly opened one of his eyes to peak. He inhaled through his mouth as he sighed deeply. In front of him was… Willie.
“For your souls.” The voice whispered once again, and as it sent a chill down his spine he noticed the human reacting in a very similar way. Had he too received that threat? Granted Ninjin knew what it was like to be without a soul, and it wasn’t something he wished to experience again. There was no way he would let that thing have it. When it came back, and he was sure it would, he would be ready. So too, he hoped, would William Watson. The prince began to laugh, as it was the only thing he could do in the situation. He had bumped into William and had been offered a chance at redemption with the human. Blood still trickled from the hole in his side where he had been stabbed. Still, looking at the young man, he was glad to have done it. Then the human said something Ninjin hadn’t been expecting.
Was he a good man? He had just risked his life for the boy, but did that make up for being so cruel to so many for so long? The prince doubted it. He had a long way to go, but then maybe it was the fact that he desired redemption that made him a good man. Those that are truly evil don’t seek repentance. The human plopped onto his ass much the same as Ninjin was doing, and then thanked him.
“I’m glad I was here. I shiver to think what those things would have done to you had I not been.” He added a friendly smile to ease the human’s worries. “I hope whatever is in there is worth it.” He gestured with his head towards the box.

“I’m glad I was here. I shiver to think what those things would have done to you had I not been. hope whatever is in there is worth it,” the once arrogant crown prince said with a reassuring smile. Watson had been so happy that the prince had been there, he would not have conquered the beast without him. Sitting there William felt a little foolish that he could not answer him. Seemed so natural in his everyday life, what he had to pay his family’s expenses.
“I’ll be completely honest with you Ninjin; I haven’t the slightest idea. You see… I’m a Deliverer. It’s a common underground Alpha Prime job. So many rival gangs trying to disrupt and corrupt the other, there is no one they can trust. They hire a Deliverer, a third party who doesn’t know, or doesn’t care; as long as money is good.” Looking at back at the saiyan he tried to muster up a smile of his own. The job had its darker side.
A package not delivered is death. It arrives on your doorstop, address and time. You get it there at that time, no questions asked no excuses accepted. A package not delivered was death; but William had never once failed, and ever since being assimilated by the beast Zasham he has unspeakable might. He has acquired more and more dangerous, and better paying, job;s; this recent battle topping the charts on both.
“It’s the job people do when they have no other options. But thank you, so much for your help. I am honestly glad to see the upstanding warrior you have become, even since I saw you compete at the tournament,” he stated as he let out a heavy sigh as he fell back, intent on resting for a moment, even as people stared from the streets and shops around. He had a few minutes to spare, he knew that he. William Watson had not been late once yet.

The night had grown surprisingly quite since the fight had ended. Ninjin Hattori sat exhausted and bleeding in the middle of a road on Omega. Though the bleeding was not fatal, it still stung nonetheless. He certainly hadn’t been expecting all of this when he stepped outside and bumped into the young human. William told him more of his story, and of his job. The prince sat listening to the boy’s story about Deliverers and what they did. He had no idea such things exsisted, and that Omega was in such poor conditions. Sure he had seen the Gamma slums, and he knew of the war between the gangs and the like, but he had no idea they were involving the common people. Someone should really do something about it? Why was the mysterious benefactor doing more to help?
“I’m sorry you were put in a position like that William.” He added another friendly smile. He had taken a liking to the human boy, perhaps it was the hellacious fight they had just been in together, but there was a refreshing aura of honesty about the boy. He certainly had let Ninjin know what he thought of him before. It took guts to stand up to a prince like that, especially one as powerful as he. William Watson had earned his respect. Willie then commented on the change that had occurred within the crown prince.
The old Ninjin would have let William Watson die to that demon and its Lackeys. This Ninjin would have died for him. So much can change in so very short a time. Though all the things that had happened to Ninjin had matured him greatly, and also had put a better perspective on things.
“I am trying to be a good person, a better person. I wasn’t always… Though I was never ‘evil’ I don’t think, I had a horrific personality… I was rude, arrogant, brash, reckless… and I wish to atone for that. I have looked down the path that I was walking down, and was horrified by what lay at the end. I seek to do good in the universe now wherever I can. I am humbled by your words William Watson. I hope that I may consider you a friend. Lords know I am in short supply. If you ever wish to come away from a life of delivery, you may come find me on New Vegeta.” He smiled again. His hand went to his side, where blood still slowly trickled down. He needed medical attention, and probably sooner rather than later.
“I hope that your delivery is not too far from here William Watson, and that we see each other again soon. I always wish to know more about my friends.” Ninjin stood and rose into the air. William would no doubt see the puddle of blood that had formed whilst they had been sitting. Ninjin would indicate it.
“I’m off to a healing tank. I suggest you do the same. I doubt you will have any more troubles along your way.” Ninjin nodded once more and flew off into the air. He had helped a friend that day, and done some good. Maybe he was capable of being a good man after all. Was Willie Watson proof of that?

“I am trying to be a good person, a better person. I wasn’t always… Though I was never ‘evil’ I don’t think, I had a horrific personality… I was rude, arrogant, brash, reckless…” the prince admitted in earnest to the boy from his seated position in the middle of the road. William was forced to agree; the Ninjin he had met at the Galactic Tournament was a far cry from the warrior who had fought bravely, and selflessly, by his side mere moments ago.
“… And I wish to atone for that. I have looked down the path that I was walking down, and was horrified by what lay at the end. I seek to do good in the universe now wherever I can. I am humbled by your words William Watson. I hope that I may consider you a friend. Lords know I am in short supply. If you ever wish to come away from a life of delivery, you may come find me on New Vegeta,” Ninjin stated with a warm smile. It took a few moments to register everything the prince had said as Willie found himself mesmerized by the words. They were so simple, yet they struck a chord deep within the apparent human.
Not wanting to be rude William sat up, instinctively pulling himself from his thoughts to respond. “Friendship born of fire and blood is said to be the strongest. So, wherever you go, know that your friend owes you one,” then he paused, thinking on his offer. “We’ll see each other again, of that I’m sure,” Willie stated with assurance. Once his mother was cured, whenever that may be, he would take them from the hellhole that is the Omega Collective and return to their home; Earth. The moon was not far a trip from there.
As he spoke to the crown prince, Watson finally noticed the saiyan clutching his side, and then the blood pooling around him. “I hope that your delivery is not too far from here William Watson, and that we see each other again soon. I always wish to know more about my friends,” the eldest Hattori would add as he took to his feet moments before lifting into the sky. “You and me both,” Willie reflected internally. He did not even know who, or what he was anymore.
“I’m off to a healing tank. I suggest you do the same. I doubt you will have any more troubles along your way,” was his last words as he turned to leave. “Thank you and goodbye for now, friend,” William called out as he waved from his seated position in the wrecked asphalt. Neither man realized at the time that the prince was wrong about the absence of trouble. It was also strange but he felt no need for the healing that Ninjin rightfully needed. In fact, he cannot remember the last time he has needed medical attention despite his ever increasingly dangerous life. For some reason, his body recovered quickly from nearly anything, save perhaps exhaustion. He watched as the saiyan climbed high into the air and continued watching until Ninjin blinked from sight. At that point Willie fell back once more, and stared up into the sky.
“I have looked down the path that I was walking down, and was horrified by what lay at the end,” the prince’s words echoed through his mind. It made Willie think upon the evils committed by the demon at the same tournament where he had met the Hattori. Watson had done so much, worked tirelessly, in a constant effort to push it from his mind. To forget that it had happened; that it may happen again. Yet the statement from his new friend forced it all to a front.
Staring into the sky, William now looked down the path he traveled. Death and irredeemable guilt was what he saw. And then he too was horrified by the destination. But what could he do, he hardly understood what was happening to him. “…And I wish to atone for that…” Was it even possible? The evils committed by his hands while under the demon’s control were atrocious. The number of people in the tournament stands who were killed by his sonic wail, the security guards at the Coliseum Immortal’s spaceport shredded by his hand, and there was no telling who else. Watson is left with no recollection of what transpired while Zasham was in control.
Those people were innocent, or at least certainly undeserving of the vile, painful deaths to which they were subjected. Was there any amount of atonement that could save him? With a sigh he admitted to himself there was probably not. That he could never make up for the crimes he had unwittingly committed. But, there was a glimmer hope in his soul, instilled in him by Ninjin’s turnaround. He had changed so much, could Willie too? Could he learn to control the beast within? It was then that the sound of a blaring horn came to his attention.
Turning his head from his sprawled out position, he saw the front bumper of a car naught two feet from his face. Its driving was leaning on the horn like it would magically clear the street if he filled it with the obnoxious sound. Noticing William looking at him, the driver stuck his head out the window and cursed, “Get out of the goddamn road you twat!” Instantly offended, Willie was to his feet before the man finished, a certain instinct taking over amidst his clouded mind. Stepping forward he gripped the hood with both hands before lifting several feet into the air.
The driver, a red skinned Brench-jin, screamed like a little girl. This made the apparent human smile as he replied, “What was that?” The man behind the wheel stumbled over his words first before forcing out “I m-meant take your time, sir, and I dare say that is a l-lovely jacket.” A whisper in the back of his mind beckoned him to crush the rude being and the vehicle itself into a basketball sized hunk of scrap. ”No,” William thought to himself before placing the car back on the road, with symmetrical dents from where his fingers had gripped the metal.
He would learn to control the chaos stirring beneath the surface, and too good wherever he could. He only hoped he would be strong enough. Turning away he started off at brisk pace towards the package’s destination.
