It was after the meeting with Prometheus Zex that the Half-Saiyan decided that it was time for a change in appearance. If he wanted to extend a more professional vibe towards others than it would need to start from the outside as his mind was already in such a state. As he sat in the room he had been staying in for the entire time, he figured now was the time to do something about his style. Heading down to the streets he wandered from shop to shop looking for some clothes for him, which probably wasn’t the best idea right before this kind of mission but it needed to be done.
Arriving at the shop, he walked through the aisles slowly, looking through all the racks with a careful eye for an outfit that jumped out at him. There were a lot of suits here, but they didn’t give the right sort of professional look he wanted from it, rather they were more outfits you didn’t take into a fight. What he needed was something that gave a look of professionalism, but also could be taken into a battle. That was probably an order that was too specific to get perfectly accurate though, considering something would have to be sacrificed for another.
If there was an outfit that could fit his criteria he would find it, or he would make it by mixing outfits, that could work too, right? Yeah, that could work just as well. His thoughts were distracted by the sudden itching in his back, almost like a mosquito bite. Scratching at the itch absentmindedly, he ignored it for the time being while he tried to find something that would work for his plan B. Then he stopped and realized why he was being silly with this indecision of his about how to get the perfect suit for his style. Looking over the clothing designs, he memorized them so that he could do research into them when he got back to his room.
The first thing that he would have to do was check out some information, and he went to the nearby information hub, where he could search the databanks for what he needed. He started with threads and clothes making, going through the process for materials he wanted to use for this project. It took a couple of hours for him to fully learn everything that he needed for creating the clothes themselves, now it was time for the additions. Learning what he could about metallurgy and crafting it into different items that weren’t just weapons, but pieces of armor instead. He even looked up how to create weighted clothes so that this new outfit wouldn’t waste the investment he had made not too long ago.
With all the information in his head on how to create the items, he was ready to give the final product a try to see if he could get it right. First thing that he would need would be some privacy, and that meant heading back to the hotel room where he was staying. Returning to his room and making sure that no one would disturb him, he walked over to the bed to sit on it. Facing the room so that the large area between the bed and the wall was in front of him, he closed his eyes so that he could concentrate his mind as much as possible. He’d really hate to have to keep doing this until he got it right, so making sure it was perfect on the first try was a must. His mind began to mold the materials within it, carefully crafting the suit that would be what he wore from now on.
First would be the boots, these needed to be more appropriately styled for his new career, which meant that they would need to be more military-styled. Molding each piece with patience, he added his own designs to the boots as well, making them a bit more fitting for the whole image in his head. When they were finished, he materialized them into the room so that he could examine them first hand and see if there were modifications that needed to be done. When he was satisfied that they were up to par with his demands from them, he created a ‘program’ within his mind so that he could create the same pair should he ever have the need to do such a thing.
The next step would be to create the pants of the outfit, so that he could make the additions that went along with them right away. Weaving the threads with careful thought, he crafted the blueprints for the pants next, a simple pair of black pants made from a sturdy material to provide some protection. With that done, he went materialized them above the boots, so that he could see the whole outfit once it was complete. The next step was a pair of shin guards that were to go over the pants and offer some extra protection while also being adding a hard striking surface. For this he would have to mix metals and compounds like he had read about for something that was hard, but also wouldn’t be brittle or easy to break. When he was finished he materialized them, attaching them to the shins of the pants and making sure that they matched with the look he was going for with this whole thing.
The steps gradually became easier, and he managed to create the rest of the pieces for the suit, that would bring about a new image for the champion. The shirt, jacket, belt, and gauntlets all were much easier to work with since he had begun from the bottom up. When it was finished, he looked it over while holding it in front of a mirror to see what he would look like in it. While he did like it, there was something that was still off and he knew what it was, so it was time to fix that as well. Entering into the bathroom, he turned the shower on and got ready for it, getting out a towel as well as removing his old clothes. It was time to discard his past image completely and create a new one to take its place, something that would fit into the idea of who he was at heart.
When he was finished he dried off and then changed the style in which his hair was put in, tying back only the longest portions of it into a ponytail while letting the rest fall freely around his head. He had thought about cutting it shorter, but that image didn’t suit him either. He wasn’t an easy man to pin down in terms of what he liked; he knew this himself and sometimes disliked that part of him. Today, it was the perfect part of him to get the perfect image that he wanted to project. Although, he hadn’t noticed the most important change to occur to him yet, at least he wasn’t as aware of it as he should have been given the situation. There was an appendage that he had thought was lost forever, but was suddenly regrown and flowing freely behind him. It had started to regrow since the time he had the itch, but had tuned it out of his mind by focusing on the task of creating a new self-image.
His body did feel a bit more powerful overall, but it hadn’t been enough to draw his attention to it yet. Instead he went about dressing into his new clothes, which was what led him to discovering the furry appendage, given that it made wearing pants over it uncomfortable. At first he was confused, he hadn’t realized that he was still capable of growing his tail back still. Then it sunk in that his tail was back and he didn’t feel as incomplete anymore, it was a strange sensation for him. Shaking his head, the important thing was that it was back and he would be able to use it once more. It wasn’t a major thing, Saiyans were supposed to be able to regrow their tails, right? So this was just a natural thing for his body. That was his justification for the return of his lost tail, and this time he would make sure that he did better by it. There was something that he had to take care of with it, and make sure that he didn’t have such a glaring weakness anymore, that tournament fight had taught him something important.
Somehow his tail gave him a new sense of himself, giving him even more confidence to do what needed to be done, or maybe he was just being silly. It was hard to tell at times, and that was what often made him think he was just a bit on that side of crazy. Given his life though it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to see why his mind would just break. A smirk at that thought, how would one tell if they were crazy? He didn't think he'd quite reached the stage of talking to himself so maybe it was nothing more than little thoughts.
Gathering his things, it was time to make a report to his current employer about the situation, there was much to be discussed and done. Although, he supposed that he should report it to Akassa since she had been the one to request that he go to the dinner in the first place. This would be a rather interesting few days before he was sent off to the system that held those two planets. It might very well be the last thing he did, and with that, a slight chuckle left his lips. Lifting the bad over his shoulder, he headed towards the port, stopping at a shop to sell off his old clothes. When that was done, he entered his ship and prepared to leave Alpha Prime, there were things to be done and time wouldn’t be slowing down for him.
