If ever there was a man that did not learn that going door to door on a planet full of aggressive people was a generally bad idea, it was certainly Conri Lane. Instead of doing things the easy way, he had actually started after meeting with the Royal Family to knock on doors to ask about Azazel's sister from everyday people. Unfortunately there were more than a fair few that decided to punch him in the face and granted they weren't strong enough to actually do any damage, his face had managed to get scuffed up a bit. Especially with the fact that he didn't hit them back, that took a lot of willpower from him to accomplish as well, but he was taking his new position as a role model seriously. If he showed that he could be strong without just going around hitting everyone and everything, then maybe people would start to learn from that message.
Still, there were no leads on the woman that he was looking for here, and a woman with lightish green skin generally tended to stand out without even meaning to do so. Hopefully, he would eventually find someone that could give him a lead, but for the time being he would just keep searching regardless of where it took him on this world. Approaching the next building, he paused for a moment and eyed it, it seemed that there was an actual dojo around this place which was rather amusing to him to see such an old fashioned building. Shaking his head, he knocked at the door to the dojo and waited for an answer, he just really hoped that someone heard it so that he wouldn't be standing out here all night. Knowing his stubbornness he would be here all night as well, he needed to become less stubborn about certain things like that, it probably wasn't good for him in the long run.
"Hello, is anyone home? I'd like to ask a couple of questions," he called out, just to make sure that he was heard this time. Then he would stand straight and look right at the door, feet planted in such a way to show that he would be waiting until there was an answer. He just hoped this person wasn't a violent one like the others since that thought was now running through his head and if the leader came he was likely to be able to hurt Conri. Note to self: learn to think things through damn it. (blargh, sorry it's so short)

Master Masamune was a simple man with simple needs in life and had simple requests from others. He needed huge quantities of a mass assortment of delectable foods. He requested his favorite team, the Space Patriots, to win the space football game every Sunday. He needed to fold steel and forge masterpieces from rare and exotic metals. He requested that certain meddlesome children did not knock on his door and then run away.
He did not get all the things he wants. Last night...
“What’s wrong love?”
Nook said with her naturally soothing tone. Her beloved husband seemed quite upset; and at dinner no less!
“I’m going to punch him in the face.”
He said with absolute resolution. The Mistress of Daggers was left entirely confused by the simple statement.
“Oh dear, who are you going to punch in the face?”
Her husband was an eccentric individual but kind hearted at his core. She had seen him angry plenty of times before, like when the Space Quarterback of his favorite team throws an interception on the final drive costing them the space football game, but he wasn’t normally a violent man; unless something called for it.
“That brat from down the street, what’s his name, Tsuken? The next time he knocks on our door I’m going to punch him in the face. Thirty four times. I’ve had to drop everything I was doing thirty four separate times to answer the door, only to have no one standing there when I arrive. THE MADNESS!”
He proclaimed as he slammed his fists against the table. His wife had to hold in a laugh, as such anger over a rather trivial matter seemed comical. She played along with a legitimate question.
“And what of his father, Rensou? Surely he will not be happy to hear that a grown man has punched his child in the face.”
Kosho stood in a huff and paced a bit, throwing his hands up as if talking to a group of people who were not there.
“Let him come! I’ll punch him in the face too for having such a little brat!”
Call it multiversal karma, he thought to himself. As he continued ranting as his wife listened supportively. Now…
Having heard a knock at the door from across the dojo, Masamune raced through his abode and swung the door open; immediately throwing a right cross to the perpetrator’s cheek. However in his haste he did not take the time to double check the identity of the knocker and was aghast after realizing it not to be the troublesome pest, Tsuken.
“Oh my bad bub, I thought you were somebody else!”
Was all he could muster before laughing awkwardly while scratching his head over his own confusion. He had placed himself in an awkward situation, and was handling the fallout quite badly per his usual.

The place seemed pretty big so he waited for an answer or lack of one with a reasonable time frame, it would be rude to just knock and leave after a few seconds right? Then again it seemed he had a bad run of luck today and it seemed like it was going to continue as well, as when the door opened he never got the chance to even say anything. Instead a fist collided with his face, the downside was that unlike the others this person seemed to pack quite a bit of power and forced Conri to skid back along the street. Holding his cheek the punch had actually managed to hurt quite a bit, which said a lot about the guy's power. However, there was something that was far more pressing to him or at least it was the first thing that came out of his mouth after getting punched all day long.
"Ya know, I can see a reason why door to door salesmen would never work on New Vegeta, everyone freakin' punches you for knocking on their door," with that said, he looked at the man to see him rub the back of his head while saying he had mistaken the Half-Saiyan for someone else. That...actually made things a little bit worse, at least if it was because of the reasons like the others he could understand but he had just been decked for being mistaken for someone else. Although at the same time he had to laugh at something, it seemed that people didn't really recognize him too much, while his new clothes and hair style were likely a part of it, he didn't think he was that hard to recognize.
"It's alright, I've been getting that all day anyways, I suppose it could be worse if people actually recognized who I was though so far no one actually has," he rubbed the back of his own head. He was trying to do something so he should in fact do the job. Reaching down to pick up the notepad that had fallen when he got hit.
"Anyways, I had actually come to ask if you had seen this woman around here, I'm trying to find a friend's sister," he explained hoping it would be easy to understand. He was a bit buzzed but had at least mentioned the green skin, horns, and the tail. He just didn't remember if he had included the other details for Azazel's sister. He looked around the building once more, simply cause he had never seen a building like this, he just assumed it was a person's house.
"This is a nice place you've got here as well," he figured he'd make some small talk.

The poor boy reeled back from the blow, skirting back across the street away from his steps, kicking up a cloud of dust in the process. He felt quite bad; he loved to punch people though he found little joy in it when not done during a heated contest.
"Ya know, I can see a reason why door to door salesmen would never work on New Vegeta, everyone freakin' punches you for knocking on their door."
The somehow familiar blue haired saiyan wore rather ornate clothing; mixes of black, red and sharp corners. It was a tad overbearing, yet it carried with it an aura all its own. But Kosho could hardly judge; after all he wore a rather strange ensemble of clothing himself. Although his personally styled duster had apparently become quite popular after a near identical one was worn by the human Kurosanai Muzai during the tournament. What a coincidence, the Blade Hermit had thought to himself at the time.
"It's alright, I've been getting that all day anyways, I suppose it could be worse if people actually recognized who I was though so far no one actually has."
Then it clicked; this was the champion of the Galactic Tournament, winner of universal acclaim and a spiffy, adequately named, spaceship. His hair style seemed different, as did his clothes, but it was unmistakable. Noting that his tail was present, the sword master assumed he had learned to regrow the appendage. Something not many were capable of.
"Anyways, I had actually come to ask if you had seen this woman around here, I'm trying to find a friend's sister."
As the boy explained, Masamune looked over the picture and listened to the information. It was redundant, however, as he was quite aware of the situation. Television being as it was, spent hours upon hours covering the fights; little of which time was actually spent fighting. Thusly he knew of Azazel and her desire to recover her lost sister. They had gone into quite a bit of detail on each of the fighters; it was almost like watching the last few weeks of Galactic Idol. Not that he watched it of course…
"This is a nice place you've got here as well.”
“You should’ve seen it yesterday! Real shit storm, but hey a little bippity, a dash of boppity, and a whole lot of boo and the place is better than new!”
He said as he turned away from the half-saiyan for a moment to soak in the glory of the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo, being the ever so modest man that he was. Turning back, he continued.
“As for the girl, don’t waste any more of your time. I searched the whole moon after I heard of Silithia during the coverage of the tournament. There are no makaio power signatures present.”
Masamune admitted with a splice of sadness. He knew what it was like to miss the ones you love, being a universe apart from his own friends. It was why he was so quick to search the astral body upon learning the news. Perhaps reuniting them would have brought him some measure of peace.
“And you can’t blame people for not recognizing you Conri, you had quite the aesthetic overhaul since your victory in the Coliseum Immortal. I doubt too that people would treat you worse if they knew you; the saiyans have always been a race of warriors. You can’t imagine the pride you brought to New Vegeta, and you are only half-saiyan! I tell you, it is a sign of the times when the saiyans are so accepting of a mixed race champion. I shall take you to the bar sometime so you can see just how many view you as a hero to our people.”
Stepping back from the door way, and into the house, the swordsman would gesture for Lane to enter his humble abode. His usual permasmile ever present.
“Come in, come in! It’s not very often that a celebrity stops by for a visit!”

Rubbing at his cheek once more, this guy had to be really powerful to hit him and hurt him enough that his cheek was still sore from it. Maybe he could spar with this guy a bit if he was really that powerful, he'd hate to impose on someone he just met though, that was kind of bad manners on their first meeting. Well, he would just play things by ear and see how they turned out, no point in thinking too much about it. The man then mentioned that it had been a lot worse just before Conri had seen it, a light chuckle coming from the Half-Saiyan.
"Well, it looks good now and that's all that matters, right?" he smirked, the building was in good shape, so he couldn't really comment on what it used to look like. Plus it looked pretty fancy to him, especially with its size, there just wasn't comparing it to some of the other houses around it. The next comment seemed to drop his enthusiasm a bit, however, since it meant he wouldn't be able to find the person Azazel was looking for.
"Damn, that so? I was hoping I could find her and take her back to her sister, I had promised," he rubbed the back of his head now. How was he supposed to keep that promise if he came to the wrong planet? Although the next comment caught him a bit off guard, apparently this guy had figured out who he was and he could only laugh as his identity was revealed.
"Ah, I guess you found me out and I guess I did change some things about me, I didn't think it would make that big of a difference though. As for worse, I more meant that people might want to fight me to say they fought against the champion or maybe try to beat me, but I guess that sounds silly out loud. Are they really that proud that a Half-Saiyan won the tournament, even though I'm technically from Earth? Sure, I'll take you up on that offer of going to a bar," he laughed once more. It would be interesting nonetheless to see what people on New Vegeta thought of him being the champion. While they were proud, were they expecting a bit more from him in appearance?
"Are you sure? I would hate to impost on you. Although calling me a celebrity still sounds a bit strange," while he did like the popularity that came with the championship, it was still hard to just accept being considered a celebrity.

Kosho had already turned and walked in, leaving the door open so that Conri too may enter. Despite the rough manner in which they began their conversation, Masamune was actually quite content with the man’s presence. After all, he did not get much company, and though he loved his wife, it was always interesting having someone knew to speak with. There was Zeke too, but he was very reserved, not the talking type.
Unlike his master.
“Ah yes, we saiyans are a fickle bunch! If you had loss, for example, you’d probably be reviled as a ‘half breed’ loser. Every man, woman and child with a tail on this rock would blame your human half for letting another race win it all. Oh I know, it is not very forward thinking, but arrogance on a genetic level is a hard thing to overcome!”
With a snap of his fingers, a large comfy recliner appeared out of thin air, which he promptly plopped into. A second snap provided an identical chair opposite the Blade Hermit, for his guest to sit.
“But no, no, no! Conri Lane the half saiyan or, if you ask anyone on the moon, the three quarters saiyan, not only won the galactic tournament but defeated an icejin to do it nonetheless! And what does a saiyan hate more than an icejin? I mean, one single handedly killed 99.999% of our race! We saiyans certainly are ones to hold a grudge. Whoops, listen to me carry on, you don’t even know my name! Come sit, and welcome to the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo; I am Master Masamune.”
He blathered on with his trademark permasmile. Did I mention he liked having someone to talk to?

With the door left open and the man walking in, Conri supposed that was all the answer he needed and followed the man into his home. Closing the door behind him, he figured it would be better to not just let anyone else walk into this place, and it was manners for the last one in to close the door. Following after the man, he heard what he had to say about the Saiyans and he couldn't say that he was entirely surprised by that, they would have denounced that he was a Saiyan had he lost. It seemed like such a strange thing to do, but he supposed that was just the way they were, it was like a sports team mentality for the entire race. He remained silent with that, not really sure what to think about this whole situation.
When they had walked in further to the property the man had created two recliners for them to sit and chat, it was strange that this Saiyan had been so welcoming of him. He supposed it was a nice change of pace, even if it had started off with a punch to the face like the others. However, it was when he introduced himself that Conri's attention really focused as well. This guy was the master of a dojo? That meant that not only was he pretty strong, but he could help Conri become stronger as well if he trained here for even a little while. He wasn't sure if he should just come out and ask to be trained, however, as it might seem like a rude thing to just come out and demand after only just meeting.
"I guess that makes sense, but Frigid isn't that bad, he's a pretty good guy. I wouldn't have been upset if I lost to him, he was a strong opponent and he helped me to become much stronger myself. Also, this is a dojo? I had just assumed that this was a really large house, I suppose that was my mistake. What does the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo teach, Master Masamune?" not that it really mattered, but if he could help Conri then he wanted to know more about what this school was about in both terms of what it taught and what it stood for in spirit. There wasn't a lot of time between when he would have to leave again, so he hoped that if he was accepted as a student that they could start right away.

The Champion entered as the Master of the Dojo blathered on, taking a seat in the comfortable recliner Kosho had materialized for him. He listened politely, a virtue Masamune greatly appreciated as he always had something to say. The half-saiyan’s eyes seemed to light up upon hearing of the Blade Hermit’s status as a Master, though he calmly waited until the rant was over to respond.
What does the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo teach, Master Masamune?"
An Icejin that was not that bad? Kosho could not remember a single one who was a ‘good guy.’ Besides the two whom murdered him and his closest Majin friend near simultaneously, and the war mongering emperor who raided his home world, he had not spent much time with any to be honest. Taking a moment, he supposed it was not too much to believe that they are not ‘all bad.’ After all, look at how many people try to kill saiyans because they believe them to be inherently evil.
“I appreciate your view of the championship fight. There is nothing wrong in losing an honorable bout with a worthy foe. I hope Frigid feels the same way. As for my Dojo, it is the current home to the Kikoukenjutsu Sword School, founded by Grandmasters Goten and Trunks over 1,200 years ago. It focuses on swordsmanship and teamwork. Don’t tell me, you have an affinity for sharp objects too?”
He said with a coy smile from deep within his comfy recliner. After all, who does not like weapons?

If there was one thing that Conri was, it was patient, or at least when it came to more things he was extremely patient. There was one that he had no patience for at all, but the good thing was that the man sitting beside him could possibly help him with that. Not that it was bad talking with him either, he seemed to be learning things that he hadn't known beforehand, plus he seemed to enjoy talking as well. Killing multiple birds with one stone and all that jazz, right? They seemed to have quite a bit in common in terms of their thinking for the most part, so it wasn't like he was opposed to talking either.
"He had the same thoughts, he had drinks once I had regained consciousness and he seemed to not have any hard feelings over it. I figure not ever Icejin would be like that, but I'm glad I met him. As for an affinity for sharp object, not quite, but I think I could enjoy it quite a it, if you wouldn't mind taking me as a student?"
He figured that it was the time now to just ask right out about it, he needed a way to become stronger and if Master Masamune was willing to teach him, all the better. It didn't matter what it took for him to get Master Masamune to train him, he just needed to get him to do it. Not just for the upcoming mission either, there was something a million more times important to him that he needed the strength of training with a master to achieve. He didn't want to pressure Master Masamune either, it was his choice after all, and it showed in his eyes that he wanted to press the issue.
His resolve gave him the strength to hold himself back in this situation, no one here was the target of the anger that slept within the core of his body. That was reserved for a special group of people.

The kid had balls, Masamune had to admit. Outright requesting to become the student of a Master, especially a Hermit like him. But then again, damned be if Kosho wasn’t the most welcoming saiyan in all of New Vegeta. Besides the whole punch in the face thing in the beginning; honest mistake though. Either way, Master Masamune did not simply accept students. Well, not without the challenge.
“Tell me, Conri Lane, Galactic Champion. If you could pick any type of weapon to best fit you, what would it be?”
Holding his hand over in the air toward Conri, he hummed for a moment. It was all for theatrics of course, but the Master liked to play with prospective students.
“Mace? Scythe? Halberd? Pick? Spear? Hammer? Axe? Bow? Blade… Yes, yes a sword but which? Obviously the blade is more complex. Scimitar? Broadsword? Dagger? Rapier? Katana? Cutlass?”
He could go on, but he figured he had blathered on long enough. In true Kosho fashion he had derailed the conversation; but he had his reasons. Lane’s question would be answered in time.

His own question seemed to be pushed aside as the master asked him what weapon he would see fitting himself the best, and while he did have some experience with using them it wasn't extensive. It wasn't an easy question to answer either, especially once he began to list weapons off and distract his train of thought even more. Once Master Masamune had finished, however, something had stuck in his mind. A blade, that could work, but what kind? Blades tended to be versatile weapons and he was a versatile fighter, at least he thought he was, but he couldn't see himself fight from the outside. It wasn't completely important with that though, he had to focus right now and try to think of a blade that could match him. Unfortunately, he had limited knowledge of all the blades that were out in the universe, but there was one that he generally liked for one simple reason.
"I believe that the weapon most fitting for me, I would have to say it would be a bastard sword or a hand and a half sword as it is officially called," that seemed to be the most appropriate. It had the versatility of a sword, but it tended to hold a bit more power behind it due to its weight. Not quite a great sword, but it wasn't a regular sword either, it was one that tended to fight right in that small window between the two groups of weapons. Granted, this was just to pick a weapon right now, he could always expand his expertise into other areas as he traveled. For now, this would be the one that he trained first and to the highest possible ability that he was capable of achieving.
He had to wonder why he was asked that question though, was their a purpose behind it? It was a bit of an odd one as well, as generally people couldn't tell what kind of weapon fit them until they used one. He had used a bastard sword before, so he did have experience with it even if it was limited to when he had been younger.

"I believe that the weapon most fitting for me, I would have to say it would be a bastard sword or a hand and a half sword as it is officially called."
“Mhm yes, of course…”
Kosho rose from his chair as it burst into sparkling magic particles, disappearing before reaching the floor. When Conri did as he most likely would, given the following events, a similar reaction would occur. He’d begin twirling his fingers in the air as he walked around the room, envisioning the sword in his mind. Eyes closed he would walk the room as he had a million times before. He did not need to see to traverse the halls of his home.
“Ah yes the bastard sword… Larger than a short sword, but not quite a longsword… Longer grip adding the versatility of wielding it with one or two hands… Forty-eight inch blade, fifteen inch grip, eight pounds… Yes.”
Facing Conri he take the magic which had been collecting at his fingertip as he traced through the air and flick it off. As it sprang forward it would take shape and form, morphing into a Bastard Sword of the highest quality. It was sent at the end and angle that should Lane stand and simply reach forward the grip would land in his grasp; the blade pointing back at Masamune.
“I do not simply accept students. Not even the Galactic Martial Arts Champion. A challenge stands before you in the form of a question. The two tenets of the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo are swordsmanship and teamwork; so what is your dedication to the blade?”
The house would shift around them as the Blade Hermit grasped the hilt of the mystical Brave Sword. By the time his fingers had firm hold, the room would have morphed into the training room, surrounded on all sides by the dojo’s opaque walls; enchanted against damage.
In a motion practiced a million times, he drew his blade with such speed that the motion would be barely visible. The beautifully engraved blade would be humming with mystical energies; its elegant golden hilt intricately designed and glowing. It would have an almost otherworldly feel.

Master Masamune began to walk around and as he did his chair disappeared without a trace, not wanting to chance that he'd fall on his ass, he stood up as well. When the chair disappeared he raised an eyebrow at it, returning his attention to the master of this school as he spoke about the sword that he had picked. Watching as he used some power to seemingly start creating the sword out of thin air, it seemed like it was similar to his item materialization, but different all the same as well.
He went through all the different statistics behind the bastard sword as well, before forming it into an actual blade. Then it was in front of him, positioned in such a way that when he grabbed it, the blade would be pointing towards the master. Before he moved to grab it though, he was asked what would his dedication to the blade be for him. There were so many things that he could think of that would likely fit but only two things that he would actually do.
"I will dedicate the sword to becoming a force to spread peace throughout the universe, where not just Saiyans but those regardless of race, gender, or what have you can live their lives without worrying about someone taking their own happiness away. Once I gather enough members for a crew and get enough funds to sustain it, that is what my group will stand for as well."
That was his ultimate goal, and he would dedicate his usage of the sword to achieving it. Even should he never be able to achieve it in his lifetime, he would continue to strive towards that one goal, and do his best to protect the universe as a whole. He didn't know if that was what Master Masamune wanted, and if it wasn't he would probably be laughed at, but oh well.

The Blade Hermit could not help but snicker. He did not mean to hurt Conri’s feelings; however he found his answer funny. Not because it was not a good answer; it was just not the manner in which he meant the question. The intention was to gauge Lane’s commitment to swordsmanship as he did not accept students who were flyby swordsman. To be a pupil of the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo, one must dedicate their life to the sword.
“That was… An honest reply young champion. Peace and equality, while unattainable in the chaos of the universe, are the aspects all should strive for, lest we too become one with the chaos. As for a ‘crew,’ it is hard to speak for those who do not yet exist. A word to the wise, from a man who was once part of a team; find the people who will become family, and your purpose will reveal itself.”
Ambitious as he was, a true team could not be forced; only assembled. But Masamune did not doubt that it would come to fruition; Conri had a magnetic personality as the Champion. Not only that, but everyone saw him fight to unconsciousness against a powerful Icejin. Everyone. Many people would follow a leader like that. Times like this he could not help but think of his own teammates; how he missed his brothers.
“But you too must also be dedicated to the blade itself. Should your faith in the sword, or its faith in you, falters then what it stands for will mean nothing.”
An intense golden aura covers the Brave Sword as the Master infuses it with his ki via the Dojo’s titular Kikoukenjutsu technique. Then with one swift motion he cast it off in a crescent wave, expanding as it approached. By the time it reached him it would be large enough to completely engulf its target. Following the half-saiyan’s movements closely as he dealt with the attack, he would invoke his Zanzo Majutsu.
Leaving a three dimensional afterimage he would move faster than the eye could see and appear at the opportune time, slashing across at the prospective student. No longer infused with ki the enchanted sword could be parried, as the Master intended.

It seemed that he had managed to cause a snicker from the master with what he had said, but he wouldn't let it get to him either way. That was what he planned for the future, so it was something he would do regardless of what people thought about it, he wasn't so weak as to let laughs beat him. However, when the master spoke, it seemed that he actually agreed with his idea of bringing peace to the universe. Although, they had different ideas of how to go about it, or at least how it could be possible.
"I disagree, if you accept the chaos as well as the order, then there should be a way to make it come true. That's what I believe at least, it might be idealistic, but sometimes you have to go for the big dreams. I'll take what you said regarding finding people to heart though, I hope I can find people like that. I suppose I'll just need to work on gathering enough funds to support us in the meantime, but that shouldn't be too hard."
Holding the bastard sword in his hands, he could feel his own hands finding the proper groves for his hands to hold it by, and not just hold it any old way. It wasn't perfect, but it was better for him to wield it, allowing him to utilize it in his own style. What the Master of the dojo said next gave him something to think about for a moment, if he didn't have faith in the sword and the sword didn't have faith in him. Looking at the bastard sword, he held it in front of his face for a moment concentrating on the sword only, before he decided to speak.
"We're going to be fighting to protect the people of this universe, which means you're going to be a symbol of protection. If that works for you then put your faith in me as I'm going to put all of my faith into you, deal?" while it might seem that he was being crazy by talking to the sword, he felt it was appropriate. If he had to earn the sword's faith, then he would speak to it as it was an equal being, like he would with anyone else he was trying to befriend and have them put their trust in him. Whether it worked with the bastard sword or not, he likely wouldn't be able to test as a large golden crescent blade was aimed towards them.
Releasing a burst of his full power he aimed a razor edge for a small section of the energy flying towards him, focusing his energy into the bastard sword's blade. Slashing forward, he attempted to have it cut a small opening that he could try to slip through in the technique, but if that failed he could hope that it weakened enough to let him push through. Returning to his reduced power after the burst against the attack, and when he could sense the power from the Master whose name he still didn't know, lifting his gauntlet covered arm to intercept the blow. It wouldn't give much protection, but he hoped that the armor would be enough to not have his arm removed by the strike.
In return, he would flip the bastard sword in his hand and bring it up in a vertical slash against the teacher. He had to be careful here though, this was a master of the dojo, it was likely that he still had plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
