"We're going to be fighting to protect the people of this universe, which means you're going to be a symbol of protection. If that works for you then put your faith in me as I'm going to put all of my faith into you, deal?"
Many would have seen such an act as downright funny, or an early sign of pending insanity. Either way, in nearly every other case it may be perceived as such. However, Kosho knew something all others did not. When he created weapons, even off the top of the hat, they are nothing short of masterpieces. Over thirty years of blacksmithing and enchanting had made him quite adept. And all masterpieces carry their creator’s ‘signature.’
As the half-saiyan swung the blade at the oncoming Kikoukenjutsu Wave it fought it off longer than most would; but up against a master technique it stood little chance. Luckily the move was cast at less than the Sword Master’s base and it merely imploded as the bastard sword ruptured. When the dust cleared, and the Blade Hermit appeared with an unimbued Brave Sword, the weapon was left with half its blade.
He had felt Lane trying to channel energy into the blade, perhaps trying to mimic the Kikoukenjutsu technique. The Master saw a flicker of the flame that was unity but it died out quickly. However it was a good sign; he could be taught. Many were never even able to make the connection.
“Well now we will see if it believes you.”
As he slashed with the mythical blade, the Galactic Champion rose his armored forearm. Knowing his practiced strikes, and the mystic weapon, would cut clean through both his gauntlet and arm he pulled back after initial impact. The armor would explode as the blade smashed it however the arm would be untouched; give or take a hair or two. Stepping back from the debris, the master who had given his name when he first sat in his recliner paused for a moment, as if waiting for something.
For you see all his creations carried his mark; as any masterpiece carries its master’s signature. Physically it was visible by the irremovable by the ornate ‘SM’ engraved on the bottom of the pommel. Metaphysically it was represented by the personality given to the sword. It could see the holder’s true feelings and intentions, thus the wielder could not lie to it. There had been one sign it may believe him; but the Master was not yet convinced.
Then it happened; the jagged edge of the sword began to glow before the other half magically regenerated. Immediately Conri followed through with a vertical slash to Master Masamune. Distracted, and not in a good position to counter due to the gauntlet ‘parry’ the Blade Hermit was left without time and instead unleashed another master technique of the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo. A golden barrier covered him, appearing in the form of samurai armor.
Jutting out all over the ki armor were golden ki blades; each roughly six inches long and two inches wide. The bastard sword would simply ricochet off the helmet or breastplate of the armor, depending on its trajectory.
“Self-repair and durability beyond that of any ordinary sword, if it considers you worthy that is; which, apparently, it does.”
It was still metal, and therefore could be broken by people able to level mountains and cities if that was there intention, but it was stronger than most metals. The regeneration usually took a little longer but Masamune wrote that off as the sword wanting to convey its belief. Then the armor sprang forth in all directions; each golden ki blade growing foot by boot until everyone pieced through a wall.

It seemed that things weren't quite going his way, when the sword ruptured from the attack instead of having unleashed the attack he had wanted. Although it seemed to achieve the same overall goal, it seemed that things weren't going to be quite that easy for him considering that his attempt at using a technique had failed. Still he would need to try to work around that and just do what he could from there, it was all he could do in this situation.
"If there's one thing that everyone and thing should learn about me, is that I don't lie about anything," he smirked. There was no reason for him to lie about anything he did or was going to do really, regardless of the enemies that it might earn him along the way. It was his road to walk and he would do it with his head held high.
His armored gauntlet seemed to just completely burst when the sword struck it, Master Masamune seemed to have held back his his strike at the last minute given that there was no wounds on his arm at all. He supposed he could respect that, with the heavy training weights he had, it was hard for him to utilize his full power and he didn't want to go full blast right away. Still with the way things were unfolding he might not have a lot of choice in the matter either, so he would need to pull out all the stops just to show that he would be able to keep up with the master. The issue was that Masamune's techniques all seemed to be on a higher level than his own, so he was going to have to try using a bit more power to counteract the difference.
Then the sword seemed to reconstruct itself completely when he moved to strike at Masamune, it was an incredible thing to witness the sword regenerate on its own. His attack, however, wasn't able to land anywhere on his target as golden armor surrounded his body, causing his attack to bounce off his chest. The attack wasn't meant as lethal though, just was more of him proving that he had the capability to reach Masamune. Sadly it had backfired and he had his attack deflected easily.
"Is that so? Well, if that's the case then I say thank you, unfortunately I do not know your name, sword. Otherwise I would call you by it, but how about we try something together?" he asked it. Hoping that this next trick would be able to be pulled off if the sword thought that he was worthy enough to have it become more durable and regenerate itself. If it was willing to put all its faith in him, then he couldn't be halfassing things.
When the blades began to extend from the armor, however, that was when he knew it was time for him to make some distance between them otherwise he was going to become a shishkabob. Dropping his heavy training weights, he was able to use his full speed advantage to get to a point where they got stuck into a wall and the others were spaced out a bit more thanks to the distance. Unfortunately, it wasn't a complete escape as there were cuts along his arms and legs as he had ran from that bladed armor. Still, it was better than standing still and getting skewered by them.
Now it was his turn to try something as he lifted the sword into the air and began to channel his razor edge technique through it once more. This time he would add more power into it, instead of just trying to throw it out at his opponent, concentrating on letting his Ki flow into the sword and energize it more. Razor Edge Charge 1

The half-saiyan was as a quick thinker as Kosho had hoped when extending the armor’s blades, flying upwards and backwards to escaping the piercing ki swords until he found solace in the space between them at the crux of the wall and ceiling. As Masamune retracted them, before allowing the stylized barrier to dissipate, he saw that Conri had only received minor cuts as well as removed his weighted clothing. Letting out a sigh of relief, as he did not want to cause the potential student any serious harm, he found himself quickly sucking it back in as he noticed the boy’s power rising.
Looking to the sword he had forged for him he noticed the power emanating from it. He was quite impressed, as pooling energy into one’s blade was the foundation for Kikoukenjutsu. For a moment he considered following suit and repeating his last encounter with the move; the superior speed and strength of the school’s titular crescent wave might reach Conri’s newly acquired sword before his Razor’s Edge could escape as it had before. Then again there was a greater distance between them than before and Lane was likely to react quicker once noticing Kohso’s plan.
“Nor do I know its name, Conri Lane. I gave the magical blade form and power; however I also made it sentient. I cannot name it anymore than I can you. Listen to it closely…”
Instead of a standoff the Blade Hermit would prefer to test Lane’s ability to hold a charge under pressure; as no combatant simply stands and awaits death. Appearing in midair beside the Galactic Champion, Masamune would attempt a flurry of strikes with his obsidian katana, the aim being to distract the boy and for him to lose focus.
“Listen to the music of the sword as it slices through the air. It speaks loudest in the heat of combat, when the sound of blades meeting drowns out all else."
Some thought the Blade Hermit crazy for his intricate beliefs. He, however, laughed at such accusations. They were deaf to the music of the swords; unworthy to hear the voice of the blade. While they found him mad, he found them sad, as he could not imagine his life without the symphony of swords. As he pressed on, he was weary of the amassing power within the blade, staying prepared to make distance should the need arise.

He had just barely managed to reach the place where the blades were far enough apart that he could fit into the space between them, it had been a close call though. He would have to be careful of that technique in the future, he did not want to become a pincushion because that job was never pleasant in the slightest. The sword seemed to be responding well to his sending energy into it this time, which meant that he had a better chance of pulling off something impressive. It would just need a bit more time to full reach the level that he wanted from it, and he could feel something happening with the sword as well. Perhaps it was fully accepting him now, he would just need to learn its name if he was going to have a proper partner in his adventures.
"I understand, I was just waiting for him to tell me his name, that's all," the half-saiyan grinned, he already knew the general personality of the sword. Enough to be able to distinguish it as a male, it was all he could figure out about the sword right now, though he was learning more and more about it as time went by. His thoughts were disturbed when he felt Masamune move closer and seeing what he planned, Conri took the option that required the least concentration from him. Diving forward, he rolled under Masamune as he began to strike and stopped a few feet away, continuing to push even more power into the sword.
"Well, then I look forward to learning your name, until that time I hope you'll forgive me for just pushing you like this," he smiled genuinely, hoping that his new partner wouldn't mind waiting a bit to learn his name. Right now, he had to focus as much concentration into keeping his energy going into the blade. His mind focusing become more serious than it had been before, while this wasn't a fight to the death, he had to at least prove that he could keep up with Master Masamune. He would combine his power with that of this sword and use that to hopefully push back the man that was testing his worthiness to wield the blade.
The energy grew brighter along the edge of the blade, showing that its power was increasing, it was almost ready to be unleashed on his opponent. It would just take a little bit longer to fully build it up into something that would at least make a scratch that armor that the man had. If he could do that, then he would count it as a small victory for himself. Radiant Edge Charge 2

"I understand, I was just waiting for him to tell me his name, that's all,"
The Master of Blades was a tad surprised. That he should know of the sword’s sentience and simply be waiting expectantly for it to be whispered into his sub-conscience was impressive. Kosho designed, forged and enchanted his weaponry by hand. Each piece was unique, one of a kind really, and unable to be reproduced. They were also rare, never being sold but rather rewarded to the worthy; an uncommon thing these days. So that he would simply know was quite interesting. The Blade Hermit shrugged it off, thinking perhaps the sword had already accepted him, and through that bond Conri had become aware.
"Well, then I look forward to learning your name, until that time I hope you'll forgive me for just pushing you like this,"
He had simply fell from the sky and rolled to the ground, careful of the building charge in his sword. Kosho turned; an eyebrow rose, and he fell straight down at a controlled speed. Where his feet met dojo was but a few yards from the half-saiyan before him. Holding his palm in front before him, fingers outstretch and tightly pressed together, energy began to pool forming a red aura around the hand.
“Blades live to be wielded by worthy warriors; to battle for ideals such as honor and justice. They see straight into the heart of their possessor; they know your truest self. To pick up a sword with malice in your heart is to doom yourself to die by another, look upon history and find it to be the oldest truth. The sword you infuse with your ki will see the true you and act accordingly; and then I will know if you are worthy…”
Learning the ways of kikoukenjutsu was the greatest privilege a swordsman could receive.
“In the meantime, here’s a Magic Trick!”
Snapping his fingers open in a sudden flash, four orbs appeared betwixt his digits. Immediately he threw his best pitch at the Galactic Champion; all four crimson balls of ki surging forth at him. Each was attuned to Lane’s ki and would follow him until their mutual destruction; one of Kosho’s oldest and most fond techniques.

It hadn't been the first time that he was told that weapons had a soul and life on their own, he had just taken that at face value the first time and treated swords like they were sentient. Granted, this sword quite literally was since he could get a glimpse of its soul every once in a while, maybe if he learned the name it would show the Half-Saiyan. Which he did have an idea for, if it was meant to be swung in order for its voice to be heard, then maybe he would be able to utilize something to accomplish that. Starting with soft movements, he made sure to not let his concentration of harnessing power through the sword break, but he could only do a little bit at a time. The sword flowed through the air, trying to see if he could hear the swords words even without clashing against another sword, keeping the majority of his focus on keeping the energy building.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that, I didn't mean to make such a mistake. I'll correct that right away. It seems the sword would like me to correct my previous assessment, she is not a he," he chuckled sheepishly. Now it was time to see if she would allow him to unleash the energy since it was at an appropriate level. He didn't want to go overboard with it since this was more of a training or something similar, a life or death battle and he might have felt differently. Still, he took in a deep breath, before focusing it towards the edge of the blade and locking his eyes onto Masamune. A smirk formed on his features as he spoke of a magic trick, he was about to pull one off himself, but his was going to be a bit different than that attack.
"Well, I guess it's time to see whether or not I'm worthy of wielding her then, what say you?" he asked the sword, watching as Masamune spread his fingers and four sphere of energy formed. When that happened Conri lifted the sword and hoped that this would work, cause that attack looked like it would hurt, so it was time to see what happened. Bringing down the blade, he released the energy and aiming it in the direction of Masamune knowing that he had ways to deal with the attack. This was more of a test for himself to see if the sword would recognize him as worthy of wielding it or not, he could only hope that the answer was yes.
His mind immediately shifting to the attack launched at him, and he used his psychokinesis to rip out chunks from the floor in an attempt to block the sphere of energy from reaching him. He could see that they were homing in on him, but were they capable of avoiding obstacles that suddenly got in the way? He was about to test that as well, no risk no reward, and he was taking a bunch of risks right now.

The four crimson spheres where dwarfed by the charged crescent blade Conri released from the unnamed sword. Fanning out, two were destroyed by the expulsion of ki while one escaped on either side. As floor rose into the air the balls reacted, honed in on their target they dipped and weaved through the debris. A stray piece struck the red orb to the left, however the last one continued on aiming to strike Lane on his right side.
Meanwhile the thunderous crescent ki wave tore through the training room; it was what he had been waiting to see. The Galactic Champion was a natural, not unlike his other pupil Zeke. His harmony with his mystic sword created quite a powerful attack indeed. Simply going full base strength would not cut it and he did not have time to think it over. Grabbing both Masamune and the Brave Sword in a hand each, Kosho gritted his teeth and let loose his full power; or rather what he was limited to in this realm.
A golden aura exploded around him as his pupils disappeared amongst the whites of his eyes, his long hair rising into spikes. Muscles bulgining and ki flowing the Blade Master infused the two legendary blades using Kikoukenjutsu and intercepted the crescent wave in the crux of his two weapons. It pushed him back but Kosho dug his heels in and used his full strength to stop its momentum. With a roar he sliced the two swords through the attack, dismantling it in an unpleasant explosion.
As the smoke cleared, the Hermit will appear smiling, his attire torn by the blast. It was needless to say he was impressed, and secure in the thought that he had a good heart. After all a blade cannot be lied to nor lie itself. Perhaps it would even whisper its name to him, should he be a good listener amidst the explosions.
“Well done young Champion! You will make the finest swordsman she assures me!”
He would say, motioning to the half-saiyan’s newest weapon.
“Welcome to the Kikoukenjutsu Dojo! Students learn at their own paces; having once been the avid adventuring type I understand it can sometimes be hard to be in one place for very long. When you wish to learn the ways of the blade, I shall be here to teach. You have earned that right my friend!”
Then an awful sound resonated throughout the room as it began to repair itself; like a rolling thunder chasing the wind. The culprit was none other than Kosho’s stomach. He worked up quite the appetite and only hoped dinner was nearly ready.

As the crescent-shaped blast tore through the ground and anything else that got in between it and its target, Conri watched the spheres that Masamune had used in his own attack. Two of them had been obliterated by his Radiant Edge while another had been destroyed by debris falling onto it, a stroke of luck in his favor, the final one coming at him from the right. It was tough to plan what to do, while most would put the sword in the way since it could repair itself, Conri didn't feel right putting the sentient weapon in harms way so readily. Sure, people would call him a fool or probably a lot worse than that given the way of people, but if he was going to be treating this sword as a partner then he couldn't throw it into danger any more than a flesh and blood partner. That was not his way and he had no intention of letting himself become like that either, instead he decided on the only thing that he could think of which was to plant his feet into the floor and curl himself up in an effort to better take the hit. As it connected and exploded, Conri wrapped himself around the sword in a means to protect it from the blast, and burning at his back as it tore holes into the back of his vest.
Turning to see the result of his own attack, he watched as Masamune became surrounded by an aura of golden flames, and his power skyrocketed to heights Conri couldn't understand how he achieved. The form and power were things he hadn't seen ever in his lifetime, just what was it that he was seeing from the Master of this school today? The power allowed him to simply cut through the crescent slash that he had charged up as well, and with little to no effort at that. He supposed that he should feel proud though that he pushed the Master of the school into using a higher form to dissipate his technique. Amidst all the chaos that was going on, however, he had managed to hear the name of the sword as it was whispered into his ear. If he had been paying any less attention to it he might have missed it, almost like the wind blowing gently passed.
When the smoke cleared from in front of the man, he was smiling towards the Half-Saiyan seeming to have acknowledged the power behind the attack as worthy enough. There was still something that he was curious with this, however, but he supposed that he could ask a bit later on.
"That's good to know that she believes in me that much," he laughed, the sword seemed to have more than enough faith in his ability and character to assure that he would be the finest of swordsmen.
"Thank you, that is a good thing that I can come back at any time, as I have a mission coming up that I need to take care of first. I will come back after that to train more with you then, and I would like to learn what you did against my attack. I haven't seen anything like that before and that power was astounding."
However, he was cut off when the rumbling sound chased through the room, noting where it had started from being Masamune himself. It seemed that the battle had caused him to become hungry, and before he could say anything his own stomach imitated the noise just as ferociously to signal it was time to eat. This caused Conri to rub the back of his head sheepishly.
"Sorry about that, seems we both used up quiet a lot of energy from that," he laughed, he wondered what places were available on New Vegeta to get some food from. He didn't want to impose on Masamune after just becoming his student.

Then, no sooner had Kosho’s hunger shook the room did Conri’s follow suit, echoing his sentiment. Now the Hermit laughed; seemed that great stomachs thought alike.
"Sorry about that, seems we both used up quite a lot of energy from that,"
Masamune saw the boy look to the exit, his mind wandering around food stands and restaurants nearby. The Master would have none of it however; his wife could magically manifest feasts one after another with nothing but a shy laugh and a wave of her beautiful hands.
“Indeed! Shall we adjourn to the kitchen! The wife can materialize the finest foods you’ve ever tasted by the banquet so I do insist! I should like to hear all about the famous Galactic Champion.”
He would exclaim as he began to walk out. Placing his hands upon his clothing they began to glow for a moment before returning to pristine condition. With a well-placed kick to the door it would glide upon and he would waltz in while hollering.
“Nook my love, my stomach demands tribute!”
An adorable chuckle from within would follow as the door swung shut.
[Exit.]

It seemed that before he could get anywhere, the Master insisted that he would be staying for dinner at the dojo. Conri couldn't just insult him by turning down the generous offer, so he nodded his head in compliance and listened to him talk about his wife's ability to make food. It sounded like she had incredible skill, so he couldn't wait to try some of her cooking. He did feel bad for intruding though, he wasn't one to just barge in on people's meal times especially for a family. He knew that it was an important time, but he really didn't feel completely comfortable with it. The man known as Masamune seemed to have wanted him to join them, so turning it down would be rude and it all just started to get complicated. Shaking his head, he was over thinking things and he just followed after the man who was now his official master.
"Very well, I'd be happy to join you if it's not too much trouble," which he assumed it to be the case since he had been directly invited. Well, more told they were adjourning to the kitchen to have some food, which heavily implied that he was to come with because Masamune wanted to know more about him. He supposed he could do that for the man that gave him such an interesting sword, and was willing to teach him the secrets of his school.
As he approached the kitchen, he knocked on the door before opening it, and bowed his head towards Masamune's wife. "Sorry for the intrusion, I hope you don't mind if I join you. I was told you make a wonderful meal," he said, entering the kitchen and closing the door behind him. [exit. PL please. also sword named Brynhildr, crappy name, but meh =p]
