Banduk straightened out his tunic, taking a short breath before knocking at the door of the Healing Clan's chamber, hoping that Batto was present. The clan master himself was the only one capable of teaching Banduk the last few steps of the Healing technique, a move that would surely prove to be a valuable asset in the Prometheus' upcoming mission. The Grand Elder's pupil only hoped that he would have enough time with Batto to study just how the Healing ability would be used in battle. Banduk already had a basic grasp of the technique, but it felt... Unreliable, at best. He was capable of healing small cuts on the trip to Namek from Alpha Prime, but had no idea if he would be able to mend the wounds of a serious battle. Therefor, Banduk waited, hoping that Batto would impart the last few pieces of knowledge necessary for a complete technique.

Sitting quietly in his home Batto was enjoying the peace his modest home offered, both of his long legs tucked under him as he sits cross legged. There were no chairs in the Namekians home, only various pillows strewn across the floor. If he knew that some Japanese homes looked like the similarities would be uncanny. The Clan leader had of course never been to Earth and had simply based his homes layout on what appealed to him. Picking up his cup of tea, the stuff imported from the Human home world, he lifts it towards his lips to take his first sip. According to the merchant he had purchased the herbs from many drank it on Earth to do its relaxing qualities. It was simply enough to make, all you needed was water so the green man had decided to give it a try. However, before he can take a sip a knock is heard.
Setting the cup back down Batto rises from his seat and heads to the door. Opening the portal he smiles, already having known it was Banduk on the other side. The young Namekien had spent enough time with Batto for the Healer to recognize his signature.
”Greetings Banduk. Good to see you are made it back home. How was your experience in the Omega Collective?” With the door now left wide open Batto turns back into his house, an obvious invitation for Banduk to enter. The Leader of the Healing Clan was curious to see why Banduk had stopped by his home, it was not common for him to pay a visit without something on his mind.

Banduk bowed his head for a brief moment when the door to Batto's home was opened. "Greetings." he said in response to the Clan leader's salutation. Banduk always enjoyed Batto's company. The Healer was a pleasant host, and always enjoyed engaging in conversations that were more... Productive than Pitka's. Not that Batto disliked speaking with his personal teacher, of course, but the Grand Elder had a habit of not taking things as seriously as he should.
"It was interesting, teacher." Banduk began as he walked inside, joining Batto by sitting on one of the various pillows that were used as seats. "Alpha Prime's technology was astounding, more so than that of Piccolo city." the young disciple said before stopping right there, knowing about Batto's relative distaste for the people of the new ways that lived in the large metropolis known as Piccolo. "But anyways, that's not what I'm here to discuss. You see, the ruler of the Omega Collective has given me a new task that I've yet to accept. If I plan on departing, I must be ready for some sort of danger." the student began explaining, leading into the matter that he really wanted to talk about.
"I feel that my greatest asset in making it through the mission would be the Healing technique I've been practicing. I've tried to hone the skill over the last several months, but... I feel like there's something missing." he said, frowning as he thought about the state of his training. "And so I need your assistance in perfecting the technique... Or, at least, developing it to the point where I can use it during battle, or in some sort of emergency." he said, knowing full well that he wouldn't be able to perfect the ability for some time.

As Banduk made his way into the structure and took a seat, Batto took a slight detour into the kitchen. Several seconds later, the Namekian’s ears easily hearing the younger one from the other room, with a second cup of the tea he was drinking. Steam rising from the container was an obvious sign the liquid was hot, the Clan Leader handing the cup to Banduk before moving to take the same seat he had been in before. When purchasing the herbal tea it he had been given its name “Green Tea” it was called, the humor contained in the fact that two green skinned creatures were drinking it lost on the elder of the two. After settling back down onto his pillow he lips the cup to his lips, gingerly taking a sip as he continues to listen.
”Interesting I am sure. I have never been, but I hear the station is quite the site to see…unless you value peace and quiet.” The comparison to Piccolo city did not bother Batto in the least. The Healer was one that favored the old ways, there was no denying that, but he understood that as the future Guru, Banduk needed to understand both sides of their race. With no apparent compromise in sight for the two Clans the Elder needed to see merit in both. Pitka had never openly taken sides with either of them, his concern always having been the Namekian race as a whole. If only others could see through that wise one’s eyes.
”So you have been practicing on your own have you? Tell me at what point do you find yourself struggling.” Batto was less concerned with why Banduk needed the technique than he was with how far the young prodigy had made it on his own. At this point in time he was the elder of the two and also the younger Namekian’s teacher, but Banduk was capable of choosing his own path in life. If he was to become the Guru at some point he could no longer rely on others to inform him which path to take. Batto was glad Gundu had chosen to help with this off world task, another step to becoming Guru was seeing the events beyond their home world, to be wise in all things, not just Namek.

Banduk voiced a small "Thank you." when Batto handed him a small cup of tea, unfamiliar with its contents, though trusting that Batto was drinking it for good reason. He sipped some as well, being careful to not burn his mouth, before blinking at the taste. It was somewhat bitter, but that didn't detract from the pleasure of drinking it. Batto voiced his own musings on the Collective, earning a small laugh from Banduk. "It's far from quiet." the student said, agreeing with his teacher in that the station wasn't peaceful or relaxing by any means compared to Namek.
The young pupil listened to his master's question regarding the progress of the Healing technique's training, setting the cup of tea down in front of him to answer. "Well... It feels like I've gotten much better at focusing the technique on a wound, but the rate and effectiveness of the healing itself is still slight. A small cut on my hand, for instance, takes a whole ten seconds to mend. I can't imagine how long it would take for something more urgent." the Namekian trainee said with a look of hope, knowing that Batto would be able to somehow help him improve the skill. Banduk had been training with Batto for a long time now, and had just recently been entrusted with the secrets to the Healing technique. Even with those secrets, however, Banduk still needed his teacher to guide him through the process. "It also feels like I'm expending too much energy for what the ability's worth. Even with its limited use, I still find myself winded after a few uses." he said, knowing that Batto was able to fully heal an individual while only seeming to expend the amount of energy that Banduk did when fixing a simple cut.

The small laugh was unexpected from the young Namekian. Perhaps the time spent on Alpha Prime had done the future Guru well. To lead the Namekian people one needed more than wisdom and power, they needed that understanding of the people around them and those that might come to them for help. Banduk Gundu was young and still had plenty to learn if you were to ask this old teacher, but he had every confidence that when the time came he would be ready.
Sipping his own hot tea the Healer sat in silence, listening to the progress that Banduk had made so far. Considering the minimal training that he had received so far it was impressive he had been able to heal wounds on his own already, not matter how small they might have been. Despite the young ones calm demeanor Batto sensed a small amount of frustration in his tone, most likely due to his inability master it on his own. Even with a difficult technique like Healing, one he had done quite well with grasping, the Guru in training wanted to perfect it with haste. Looking over his friend Batto takes another sip of his tea before speaking.
”Since you are able to focus on healing wounds you have mastered the main part of the technique, using Ki to knit back together tissue or bone. It seems to me that your problem with expending too much energy is that you are trying to rush the healing. Our healing technique is not suppose to be quick Banduk, it takes time, hence why you cannot force the Ki from your body, you must let it flow naturally. I have spent many years using and mastering the technique and even I must take my time when using it. As for the exhaustion that is normal, healing another means sacrificing your energy to do so Banduk, you would be wise to remember that.”

Banduk had to constantly remind himself that Batto was incredibly experienced with the healing technique, and would obviously be more skilled in using it. Still, that didn't help the younger Namekian's frustration. The amount of energy he lost while healing wasn't an issue in and of itself, rather the little amount of healing that actually occurred for how much Ki was spent. For how exhausted he was after healing a few cuts, Banduk expected more from himself. Not only that, but the time was soon coming for him to head out on Zex's mission, where this technique would surely be essential. He had to progress to the point where he could heal himself or his comrades if need be, and he had to reach that point quickly. Compared to his formerly peaceful life, it seemed like Banduk never had enough time any more...
"I've seen you use the ability, master... It takes a few moments to heal someone, I'm aware, but..." Banduk started, trying to keep his own frustration out of his voice. He was anxious after convincing himself that this technique was mandatory before heading out on his journey. "... But even when you yourself take time, it would help in an emergency, would it not? I need to develop this technique to that level quickly. I fear that if I don't, it will cost me and my team dearly if we come into a dangerous situation." the student said with a sigh, not realizing that this technique consultation was turning into more of a personal lesson. He wouldn't deny that Batto had a point. Banduk was rushing the technique, that was for sure... But it seemed like the only way. Healing his comrades slowly simply wasn't an option.

With one last sip of his tea Batto places his still hot beverage onto the small table at his side. Resting his large hands upon his knees the Clan Leader assessed Banduk. Before leaving Nameless the young one had been just as eager to learn, but with far moren patients it seemed. Batto could understand as Namek moved a little slower than most places in the universe, most of its inhabitants never in a rush. That being said the desire to master such a technique was not a selfish one, but one to ensure the good health of his future comrades. Honorable as it was, it would not make the technique any easier to learn. As Banduk finishes speaking, a small amount of frustration evident in his voice Batto remains silent, calm eyes searching to lock with those of his young apprentice.
Extending his right arm between them Batto turns it palm up. Slowly his hand began to glow, the healing technique he had long mastered activated with no target. Holding his arm in place the Master lets his ki flow naturally. Normal Ki attacks consisted of forcing Ki from the body in a desired fashion while healing reacted best to the natural flow of ones body. Banduk had to understand it was not something the user could quicken by force of will, the more relaxed you were during the session the more effective the technique was.
"Hover your hand over mine Gundy. You need to feel the difference I speak of. When you are ready explain how it feels compared to your other techniques." Batto's arm remains rock steady through the process, holding it in place as long as needed. Although composed of a calm nature and a peaceful mind there was power within Batto, power that could rival the strongest of the Warrior Clan's fighters.

Banduk blinked when Batto's eyes met with his own. The elder's eyes were firm and convicting, yet also soft and at peace. Banduk's own eyes trembled slightly as they conveyed a sense of impatience and inner struggle. He was anxious to learn the technique, but merely looking at his teacher's eyes was enough to relax him somewhat. The young apprentice watched as his mentor raised a hand between them and began slowly emitting a warm glow. Though Gundu recognized it immediately, he seemed puzzled for a moment. The ability didn't look quite like he remembered. Its shimmer was softer and more calm than he was used to.
He was so entranced by the peaceful light that Banduk almost jumped a little when he heard his master speak up. Batto ordered the younger Namekian to subject himself to the positive energy in order to feel just what the difference was between them. With a shallow nod, Banduk lifted his hand and held it over his master's, allowing the energy to rise up and make contact with his green flesh. Right away, Banduk could tell there was a major difference between his own abilities and that of his teacher's. The reason its glow seemed different at first was simply because Banduk was used to observing his own technique rather than Batto's. Now, however, the pupil was able to take in just what the mastered ability was all about.
"It feels..." the younger of the two Namekians started after at least thirty seconds of taking in the sensation. "... Soft, and gentle..." he said, his hand relaxing over his master's. His muscles in that hand were tense at first, but were now loose and limber. "Though not weak." he said, able to sense his teacher's true potential behind the soothing flow of ki. It was like the slow churning of water surrounding his hand; water that would be capable of becoming a great typhoon under other circumstances. "It almost seems... Generous, in a way." he said, his mind perceiving a sense of 'giving' in the energy. The technique was offering healing energies, not insisting them upon him. His hand was receiving the energy at its own pace instead of being forced to accept it. Banduk was starting to get the idea.

Hand steady and stare unwavering Batto observes as his young pupil slowly lifts his hand to hover over his own. Gundu’s hesitation to explain the sensation was a good sign, showing that the young warrior was truly letting the sensation flow into him, not attempting to rush towards an analysis. Many years his elder Batto understood the meaning of patients, never one to rush anything. Even the few times he had been dragged into real combat the healer was never in a rush, his calm demeanor and mindset the key to his fighting style. Watching the younger Namekian’s reaction to the sensation of his healing energy that flowed into his hand Batto hoped he was beginning to understand. His words were reassuring.
”Exactly. Healing another is the exact opposite of trying to harm them. When launching an offensive blast at an opponent your focus is to hit them with the attack, forcefully using Ki to damage their body correct? Is it clear now that repairing another’s body should be just the opposite?” Hand still hovering under Banduk’s the clan leader cuts of the flow of Ki to his hand, the soft glowing light emanating from his palm blinking out instantly. His hand remains in place though, his eyes still looking at the future Guru that sat across from him.
”Now, try using the technique yourself.” With his calm tone the statement would not come off as an order, but simply a request. Batto wished to see if his student had truly understood the lesson he had just been taught. Of course he did not expect him to have mastered the technique with just an explanation, but he hoped it was a step in the right direction. Banduk was wise and powerful beyond his years, even for a Namekian, but prodigy as he was that did not mean Batto had such unrealistic expectations of him. As he sits the healer’s free hand swings over to lift up his tea once more, taking a slow sip. Such a gesture showing that Batto was in no rush for Banduk to proceed, the younger Namekian could move forward when he was ready.

Banduk nodded slowly at his mentor's words, understanding the nature of this technique more and more. Batto's demonstration ceased, and the glowing stopped. Banduk flexed his hand slightly, amazed at how good it felt despite not having been injured in the first place. Even without wounds to heal, Batto's technique still rejuvenated the body. It went to show just how effective the ability was in the hands of a true master.
Banduk was then expected to try using the healing technique with his newly-acquired knowledge. He would have to think generously and relax, allowing the target to use the energy at its own pace rather than focus his ki with his own intentions in mind. "... Very well." Banduk said, taking a deep breath as he opened his palm slightly, preparing his body's inner network of ki for use. He exhaled, focusing his attention on Batto's hand and narrowing his eyes. The glowing began as his energy was emitted, though the flow of ki was more unstable than Batto's. Banduk shook his head slightly, as if to shake off his impatience. He took another breath, closing his eyes as he tried to envision something else. He wondered what to focus on, not yet realizing that concentrating too hard on the target was what hindered him.
After several seconds, the shaky glowing became even more intense as Banduk became somewhat conflicted. His mind wandered, not knowing what feeling he should pursue. It seemed like relaxing too much would simply waste his ki, would it not? He had to concentrate on something. A bead of sweat dripped from his brow as they furrowed, revealing Banduk's tendency to think too hard when it came to things of this nature. Finally, something clicked.
Banduk decided that, as with most situations, the best idea was to meditate on it. He took another few breaths, relaxing the muscles of his body. First, his face. His eyes softened, and his jaw became loose. Then his shoulders dropped slightly, followed by his fingers. Then he cleared his mind. The image of Batto's hand left his thoughts. He thought only of giving his energy freely, offering it in the form of healing. His mindset shifted from let me give you my energy to use my energy as you see fit. And it worked.
The glow within Banduk's palm dimmed slightly, but hummed at a steady pace. Banduk breathed a few times, getting used to the feeling of offering his positive ki before opening his eyes, blinking at the sensation. His energy was definitely being depleted quickly, but it didn't feel like he was wasting his energy fruitlessly. He wasn't forcing ki out from his body, just letting it out at its own pace. The rate at which his energy flowed out was lesser than his master's, but it was certainly a start.

Quietly sipping his tea Batto waited, watched as Banduk went down the same incorrect path he had chosen before. The energy flowing from his hand plainly put did not feel right, it was comparable to someone running into a strong wind. Progress was being made with the Ki emanating from his hand, but it was slow as if something was pushing back against it. The sweat beading upon his forehead was an indicator of how much effort he was putting into the technique. Not really surprised at the outcome of this second attempt Batto takes another sip of his tea before opening his mouth to speak.
”Perhaps…” Banduk’s brow relaxed, the movement causing the healer to pull up short of what he had planned to say. Silent again the older Namekian watches once more as his pupil’s body begins to relax. Smiling he hoped that the younger ones mind was also starting to relax, for that was the one of the keys to using the technique properly. As Gundu continues to relax Batto felt the change in the flow of the Ki moving into his own hand. If before it had been swirling in a counter clockwise motion it had now righted itself to flow clockwise, a more natural flow. Staying silent he allows the Namekian to continue healing for several minutes, also wanting him to realize the energy expenditure that came along with the skill. Sure it was not that much for Batto had no wounds, but it was the sensation that counted, the energy leaving Banduk to go into his target.
”Well done Banduk Gundu, you are letting the Ki flow naturally. Your ability to learn is as impressive as always, but you must learn to be more patient. Your desire to rush at times is what hinders you.” Letting his hand drop away Batto lifts his tea to his lips once more. Smiling as he sips the Clan Leader gives an approving nod to his young apprentice. Banduk would indeed make a grand Guru one day.
