Year 784; Goku leaves the 28th World Martial Arts tournament with Uub in tow with hopes of training the reincarnation of the vile Kid Buu to be Earth’s future protector. In the following years, Mr. Buu would continue losing to the World’s Champion for many more tournaments until Mr. Satan was finally ready to retire. Passing the torch to the wildly popular Mr. Buu, the Majin would be the undisputed champion for hundreds of world tournaments. After much time though, the gentle pink champion of Earth grew sad; the deaths of Bee, Mr. Satan, and their descendants wore on his simple mind. Bidding farewell to close friends and his human counterpart, Mr. Buu ascended into the vastness of space, declaring an adventure to discover all the universe’s most delicious treats.
Uub had out lived all the other Z-Warriors, human and saiyan alike, thanks in part to his mystic origins, even surpassing Piccolo and finally Dende. Upon the guardian of earth’s passing, the ageless Mr. Popo delivered the namekian’s final wishes to Goku’s protégé; to take on the mantle of guardian. Uub agreed without a second thought and would go on to defend the Earth for many years, his might only dwindling as his life drew to an end. The day before his death he chose his worthiest student to guard the planet, which brought rise to the current tradition of Earth’s guardian being human.
The descendants of Uub, combined with the influence of Groundbreaking Science, a book authored by Gohan during his life which gave the general public understanding of ki control, turned the human race into a capable one, allowing them to contend on a galactic level as they previously had not. A point only proven during the coup with lead to the end of the anthropomorphic canine dynasty that had ruled the planet for countless years, in which powerful renegades threatened the stability of the Earth. The guardian of the time ended the revolt, at which point a human was elected king, yet another forming tradition as the versatile population grew.
While Earth was at peace following the momentary lapse, its moon was not. Benjin, a descendant of Vegeta, created a base of operations where he tirelessly planned the rebirth of the saiyan race. Using bug sized robots, and spending hundreds of hours of research, the scientist collected DNA samples from all the people whom had the legendary saiyan warriors Goku or Vegeta as ancestors. After countless years of toil he succeeded; creating seven full blooded saiyans. However as the aggressive race repopulated, friction grew between them and the humans. Utilizing his unmatched intelligence, the elderly genius Benjin gave one final gift to his ‘children’ before passing; a home of their own.
The moon was terra formed, with help from Capsule Corp, who wished only for peace between the two races. A royal line was established, the first born of the saiyan race taking the mantle, then his son after him and so on and so forth. Upon relocating to the moon, the king had a marvelous castle built, which the city of New Vegeta quickly grew around.
Meanwhile on the ever tranquil, New Namek changed much in over twelve hundred years. The species had split in two; those of the old tradition and those of the new tradition. Inspired by the legendary warrior Piccolo, the new tradition put emphasis on training and fighting as opposed to peace and tranquility. What divided them so deeply though was that fusion between namekians was forbidden in the old ways, while it was celebrated by the new ways. Piccolo City was built by, and became a hub for, namekians whom followed the new tradition.
The rest of the planet is speckled with villages, where those who follow the example of the great Guru reside, far away from Piccolo City and the influences of Earth which spilled from its space ports. The largest of these is the village of the Grand Elder of Namek, sworn leader of Namek; despite grumblings from the new breed of namekians.
Though peace seemed to reign for the humans, namekians, and even the saiyans, darkness grew on the edges of the galaxy. In a hollowed out asteroid a space station is built by an unknown source and quickly becomes a base of operations for a criminal organization whose name is but whispers from frightened tongues. It becomes known as Alpha Prime and as the organization grew, so did the station, so as to fit the men and their families. Soon it became a haven for criminals the universe over, attracting attention from the Planet Trade Organization.
Having grown weak with the death of the Kold royal family, and the internal struggle which followed, its new leader looked to capitalize on this mysterious group’s recent fortunes. Moving into the asteroid field, he had what would become known as Beta Minor created in a manner similar to Alpha Prime. A war erupted between the two sinister groups, until a meeting was set between the Icejin king and the ‘mysterious benefactor’ behind the original station’s creation. An uneasy alliance was made, followed by the formation of the bloody Arena and finally the Gamma Slums; a show of ‘generosity’ from the ‘mysterious benefactor’ to stem the ever growing demand for housing. Though many perceived, with good reason, that it was simply as a way of separating the criminally wealthy from the criminally poor.
However it has been far too long since a great evil has threatened the galaxy. Darkness seems to be creeping in from every corner as one true villain wishes to emerge and take what they desire. With Goku and friends being but distant memories, it falls upon the leaders and guardians of the planets to guide events to peaceful resolution.
Power corrupts all but few, and even they are but victims of time. The old guard ages while new heroes ripen. While evil grows, so does good, as new warriors come forth everyday. Who will defend the preciousness of life? Who will reap the rewards of endless greed? The year 2000 quickly approaches, and with it New Beginnings, only time will tell if good prevails or if evil conquers on Dragon Ball Awakening.
