Brandon fell...fell, into darkness as the light that followed him underground had finished and left him to the darkness. It surrounded him like a blanket before he felt his sore legs land on the ground, as he instinctively put his hands out to brace himself.
He felt himself hit the ground hard, as it felt like smooth stone that he had landed on. The impact caused his head to whack the ground hard, causing a ringing in his ears, and a sharp pain sear through his mind. "Aah, Fuck!" He wanted to cry out, but he was too sore, and in pain to do so. He felt like he was going to die in... where-ever he had fallen, but to his surprise, he did not die, nor did he fall unconscious.
"That...was bad..." He mumbled to himself. The pain in his head was intense, as he had a good feeling that he had a nasty concussion and couldnt afford to doze off, or he would never wake up.
He attempted to get back onto his feet, but he was dizzy from his fall. But he noticed that the floor was too smooth to be a natural formation, as he felt around the floor, and noticed small crevasses in a strange pattern on the rocks. He reached for his watch, and switched the light on it on, and pointed it at the ground, and noticed that they were carvings in the rock. And whats more, the stones were manmade...Rectangular...
"Something....or someone... Is this a ruin I found?" he asked himself, but before he could think of a reply, a feminine voice echoed throughout the chamber he was in, as it said "Welcome Mortal, It has been thousands of years since the last Mortal to stumble upon this shrine.", making Brandon snap to attention, as he tried to see and find out where the voice was coming from.
"Who are you? Where am I?!" He asked, and he was greeted with warm lights from sconces that lined the walls. 2 by 2, they lit up, showing Brandon that he was indeed in an ancient underground shrine. he was in awe at the craftmanship of the stone work, as he knew it predated any known human culture. He continued to look at the new area he had found himself in until he had found a strange Altar with a bracelet held upon its center.
When he tried to approach it, his skin started to crawl in a bad way, as if his body was telling him that the bracelet before him was nothing but bad news. "My name cannot be spoken by your tongue, however, you may refer to me as "Princess of Ruin", as some of your ancestors had come to call me." the voice said, as Brandon noticed a soft shimmer of red light around the bracelet.
"The item before you is what is known as a Chaos Relic. The Ruby Chaos Relic to be precise. It holds immense magic, and potential to anyone who wields it. However, only a select few are compatible with them. Those who are not compatible, and have tried to claim it, perished." She added, as Brandons eyes caught something very disturbing to the side of the altar. Skeletons... atleast a dozen of them. He knew that the 'Princess of Ruin' was telling the truth, and knew that the bracelet was indeed dangerous.
"If...thats the case, I guess Ill just be going then...I think I need a Hospital..." He said, as he started to turn around, before he felt an invisible force suddenly restrain him. "That cannot happen Mortal. The relic has responded to you, as it had not with your ancestors. Fate, has decreed that you shall be the host of the Ruby Chaos Relic." the voice said, before Brandon felt a new force push his chest hard, causing him to stumble backwards.
He fell back against the altar, and felt a hot sensation suddenly embrace his body, as he felt a sharp pain on his left wrist. "Aaah, WHAT THE FUCK!" He said, as he suddenly looked up to the Altar, to see what was happening to his wrist, and saw the red shimmering light from the bracelet flowing into his arm. "S-Stop it! I wont do it!" He said, in a panic as he tried to pull his wrist free.
It wasnt long before the bracelet was dislodged from the altar, and snapped onto his wrist. He felt a new surge run through his body, but it wasnt painful, but rather a cool sensation that cause some of the pain to slowly vanish. "Fuck...that hurt you bitch... You dont take no f-for an answer do you?" He said, as the force released him from its grasp as the new cool sensation coursed through him like a river.
"Mortal, With this relic of Chaos, Guard it well. There will be those of evil intent that will attempt to claim it along with the other Chaos relics. However, You are not ready to carry such a responsibility. And in so, I will ensure that you will not be exposed to this Eras worth of Evil. Your wounds will be healed when you awaken." She said. And as those words sunk into his mind, Brandons eyes went wide.
"Wait what?! Awaken?! The what hell do you mean?!" He said, as he noticed a circle of light surrounded him. It felt warm as well, but when he tried to escape the light, he found that he was trapped inside it. He pounded on the walls of the circle, but it wasnt before long, that a flash of light suddenly enveloped him as his mind turned to blank, and he could not see or think anymore. He was in a tempral limbo that would last hundrends, and hundreds of years.
As time passed by, the Earth had changed shape. Great battles and wars took place over the shrine where he had been sealed. Great heros and villians came and went. The battle of good and evil, always struggling to get the best of the other.
As it came to the present age, the light that surrounded Brandon slowly faded, as his consciousness returned to him. By the time the light was fully gone, the Earth around the shrine had changed so much, that half of it had been destroyed by the passage of time, and sunlight filled the room.
As Brandon's eyes adjusted to the light, His body felt refreshed... New... There was no pain from his injuries, no brusing... It was like the Princess of Ruin was true to her word. He looked at his wrist...at the Chaos Relic that had made Brandons body its new home, and felt like it was just a normal piece of jewlery. One that hugged his skin, but he felt no pain. No cooling sensation.
He felt... Normal.
"How long have I been gone? What happened to me..." he thought, as he saw the state of the shrine, and saw that only time had done the kind of damage he had been seeing. And with that, He took his first steps into the modern age, with only the clothes on his back, his wallet, and his new Chaos Relic, of which he knew nothing about...
To learn about the upcoming future events in his life, will test Brandon as a person, and he will soon find out, that life will be much harder then he had before he got on that bus...
