Upgrades and New Items!!
Alright so this is our first update after opening the Item Suggestions board, so I will cut right to the chase.
First things first there are changes being made to Simulators. Up until now it has been a little undefined as to what your standard simulator is capable of. The updates and upgrade below will clarify this.
Normal simulators are capable of generating any fighter that you have met or one that is “randomly” generated by the machine. This as most of your know allows you to fight any other player you have met in a simulated form, granting you some writing freedom to make your threads more entertaining. A standard simulator can also create slight variations in environment, granting you the ability to fight in something a little more decorative then a large white room. Now this doesn’t mean you can travel a simulated world while in one, think of it more as a static area. (The upgrade below will allow more elaborate adventures.)
Now, Model Zero suggested something like a Co-Op simulator that would allows players that own a simulator to fight each other across the stars without having to meet up. The way this would work is something like a wifi connection in which a projection of either fighter appears in their opponents respected simulators, allowing you to find matches against other players looking for training sessions. Staff thinks this is a great idea and as of today it is officially, implemented. Anyone that owns a standard simulator has access to this feature as they all come with it. So, whenever you want you may contact another member with a simulator to set up one of these sparring sessions, or simply start an open thread in the training area and wait for someone to join. There are several rules that come with these types of fights. One, when fighting against each other in this fashion each simulator disguises their owner with an avatar, one different in appearance than their actually character. Two, the machine also alters their voice to further protect the use from identification. These rules are in place to prevent meta gaming and stop the simulator from being a Universe wide communicator as two fighters can fight like this no matter where they are. Third, when it comes to gravity or the Simulator 2.0 upgrade below, both users must be have the prerequisites for them to be usable in the thread. We hope everyone enjoys this as it really gives you more opportunities to fight without forcing your character to physically meet another. Give thanks to Model Zero for this idea.
A list of new items, including and upgrade to simulators:
Simulator 2.0 – 1,500 Zeni(Credit to Model Zero) – Getting bored of training in that same old white room or running off on some adventure but not getting to use that fancy gravity chamber you have? Then this upgrade is for you. For a small free (1,500 Zeni) players can now upgrade their simulator to this newest version. Simulator 2.0 allows you to travel from various settings while within it. You could go for a jog around the world, enjoying the scenery as you go or battle foes across the continents, the choice is yours. Basically this upgrade allows you to go on a simulated adventure/mission while still graining the bonuses from using a simulator and gravity chamber! I think it’s well worth the extra coin!
I.E.B.(Infinite Energy Blades) – Zeni 1,000(credit to Frigid) – There are certain characters who lack the ability to utilize Ki in the traditional way, this item may be something for them. Though there are a few answers out there for these characters, the I.E.B. is one of the most practical ones. Fromed with state-of-the-art metals, the I.E.B. is built for any warrior to use comfortable, and can be equipped on the wrists, ankles and even the tail. In appearance the I.E.B. looks much like a watch, and can come in an array of colors based on the users preference. A dark, round crystal is positioned in the center of the smooth metal bracelet, where energy is amplified from the user. The drain is so slight that the user should not experience any kind of discomfort and it will not noticeable draw on their stamina. This blade(ax or whatever sort of weapon you might like) is strong enough to match almost any traditional weapon or even that of a Ki Blade. The downside is that the bracelet part is not indestructible, so a mishap could lead to the loss of this item. In terms of strength the blade itself is comparable to its wielders strength, following the rules for techniques on the site.
Lastly, Roxsenne had suggested an item like Frieza’s chair he flew around in on the Namek saga. While staff thought the idea interesting we ultimately decided it was not something to be implemented. Something like this is obtainable, but no Zeni needs to be spent on it. However, this did bring up the topic of people learning techniques, but changing the flavor text around. This is something we definitely want people to know is allowed. Some examples would be an android learning Bukujutsu(flight) but instead of actually using Ki they use boosters sort of like Iron Man to fly. Another example would be a character with a physical trait that is natural to their body such as wings. Again this could be substituted for the tradition description in the flight technique since they both accomplish the same thing. SO please, be creative with your techs if you want them to be modified based on your character!
