Neus wasn’t kidding when he said he couldn’t miss it, aside from the missing worn gate which had been replaced by one made of concrete, the two factories looked Identical too each other. It begged the question of why that was, and why the buildings were even disguised in the first place. From the sounds of it Neus had the whole lower city in his hands, though he hadn’t actually see Neus's claim to have great pull over the enforces that watched over the city for crime. Either they didn’t really exist and he was just using it as a card to make Anri stay in check, or Neus had a much deeper hold on the city than he thought. Crime seemed to be something that the metal city knew much about, from what Diagon had told him, the number one import was outlaws from far off worlds. A haven for the outcast and those that cared little for the laws of their home world, instead they found another.
Watching from a distance he peered at the structure though it was identical to the one he had just came from this one was crawling with well-armed guards just as he had be told. Though what Neus failed to mention was exactly what it was that they were packing, even from the long range he could pick out greater deals of the weapons they were holding. Most of them seemed to be carrying assault rifles, from the length of the barrel he guessed they were most likely best used from a medium to long range. Pulling his arm out he used a trick they taught him in the military to judge distances using the gaps between his fingers when they were stretched apart. It looked to be about one hundred feet down an open street with no cover before he would even reach the wall. With that much open distance they would probably take notice of him before he had even made it a fourth of the way to them. Which would still leave him with another seventy five feet of cover less area to run across before he would be able to breach the defensive wall.
Pulling back behind the cover of the silo he was standing next too he thought through his plan covering every detail he could think of. He didn’t have the time to map out the area other available paths were not a good strategy, one wrong move could lead him to a dead end were he would have to either act quickly or become full of lead. A direct approach given his plated skin was the best idea, not only was he sure his body armor could deflect the oncoming attacks, it would be the fastest plan of attack. Those that relied on there long ranged weapons for defense usually didn’t plan on someone charging right towards then, those plans were considered suicidal, and something not to be expect of a person. Once he broke through the wall it would be simple taking out the wall patrol, they would most likely rely on their ranged attacks to subdue the target, giving him the upper hand when their shots were deemed useless by his hided armor.
Seeming satisfied with the idea he pressed his hands together cracking his knuckles all at once. Turning the corner around the silo he charged down the metal street his feet pounded against the ground could be heard from quite a ways off. Just as he had predicted the shots began to fire upon him around the seventy five mark, with the quick burst of the rifles echoing off the walls. Warping his arms around his neck he charged into the oncoming shots, though most of his body was protected his neck was not and he was going to do his damnest to protect his vial areas. As the bullets came in contact with his skin they seemed to collapse in on themselves, shattering into pieces they flung off his body. Over the ringing of the shots he could hear the aliens on the walls shouting out orders, it wasn’t the fact that they thought giving more commands would save them it was the fear in their voices. They had never seen a Vennor before, they had no idea of what fear they could instill in a person but they were about to find out. Approaching the wall at full speed he tackled the concretebarrier smashing through it as if it had never been there in the first place. Taking chucks of the structure with him he tumbled through the now gaping hole slamming on an unfortunate person who had been standing behind it just at that time. The screams of the person were quickly muffled by Anri crushing him under his large weight and rifle shots, his fellow guards probably didn't even realize that he had been killed.
As the dust began to settle from the exploding wall the firing of shots began again, he was happy that they had decided to stay and fight rather than run from a opponent they had no chance in hell in defeating. The bullets whizzed past his face as he could feel the air pressure changing from the speeding bullets, charging forward again and up the side of the wall he jumped off the concrete slab round kicking one of his attackers off the railing sending him flying down the street from which Anri had just come from. The attack had been a divisive one just on the alien’s neck, no doubt in his mind that the driving force behind the attack had broken his spine if he had one at all. Landing back on the ground in a crouching position he looked back up as another shooter laid waste with a barrage of lead, one of the rounds reflected back from his plates slamming shrapnel in the aliens leg. Taking a knee in pain Anri sprung from his crouching position with his knee extended out from his body, with all of his force behind his attack he slammed into the gaurds rib cage with a terrifying crack he went tumbling backwards as blood shout out from his mouth. Wiping his legs off he stood back up and looked around the surrounding area as the rest of the guards seemed stunned at what to do next. Before Anri could launch into another frenzy of attack the ground beneath his feet began to shake as a large mechanical tank rolled around the corner, the black barrel of the vehicle had to be at least ten inches across, running a full length of around sixteen feet, regardless it was a big ass tank. Though he wasn’t sure that his armor could fully take on the shell that the tank was about to fire he would have rather not wanted to find out.
Rearing his hand back he pulled particles from the air as they encircled his wrist, a ball of energy formed in the palm of his hand growing brighter and hotter with each passing second. As the tank turned towards him he could hear the cogs rotating inside of it as it primed its cannon, obliviously they hadn't expected such an attack to happen on their base as even the take wasn’t full prepared. Rather than wait for them to fire upon him Anri made a primitive attack and launched his heated orb. Almost instantly smashing down into the barrel of the tank, the burning ball ignited the ready to launch shell. Exploding on contact the tank lit up like a sun going super nova, exploding its armor shell of its body it was ripped apart from the inside out sending shrapnel in every which direction. Covering his exposed parts from the explosive inferno, the bits of metal scratched his plates though it did little to him physical, it devastated the attacking forces who had no protection of their own from the explosive force of the tank.
With the smoke and dust now clearing he could see just what the combined explosive force of the two attacks had done. Large portions of the tank lay in shambles across the field, even to his surprise it seemed to have penetrated the metal ground in some patches. Guards lay scattered over the field, while a few of them seemed to still have some life left in them other were not so lucky, pinned to the flooring with spears of metal embedded into their flesh, he didn’t need to be a doctor to know they had died on contact. Limbs and other an assortments of blood body parts lay broken in shambles over the area, it was amazing to see that the attack and been more devastating than just doing it by its self. Laughing he gave himself a small pat on the back at the job well done, at least for the court yard; no doubt that the building itself was still back full of the buggers. Whereas he could go in a frenzy outside the walls he would need to have a bit of a gentler approach when it came taking out anyone inside. He couldn’t imagine that Nesu would take the building back if there were gaping holes in its structure, though he might just do it because he didn’t like the guy, however he didn’t want it to reflect poorly on his pay check.
That was of course the only reason he had gone through killing all of those people, for the money. In the end most things came down to who had the power and wealth to back up their actions, those with influence of their pockets could rule behind the curtains of the government. It was time he had a shot at doing such things, he was tired of doing the same things every day, the order, mind washing. That time of his life had come and went, and he was glad that it was over. Every day he would see the rich and powerful live care free lives just because they could pay off to do whatever they wanted to and the worst part was that others would let them. The order was flawed, but if you couldn’t fix the system why not use it to one’s advantage, maybe one day he would view the vale from the top, and just maybe he could change things. The corrupt and the wealthy shouldn't be the ones to control the universe, he was going to have to deep dig and do things that he didn’t fully want too, but had too. Working for Nesu was just the first stepping stone in many too come, it was going to be a long road ahead of him, but his people lived long lives, patience was something he had plenty of.
Cracking his neck he looked around through the smoke at the building he stood in front of, though it was identical to the other factory in many ways and though he had viewed it from a far he always like to get another look. Sometimes useful things were overlooked from afar, as one focused on the danger instead of the future, always one piece at a time though. Scanning the surface of the building he checked for other possible ways that he could get inside the building than just the front door, no doubt if there were more people inside they would be waiting for him there. They must think him a fool if they really thought he would go that way, but then again he did rush head first into a stream of bullets, so they might have hit it right on the head. However a different approach would defiantly throw them off guard, though stealth was not one of his best abilities it would play off better using it here as he spotted a air vent sticking off the face of the building. It was more than a few feet from the ground and even with him impressive jumping skills it would still be quite a ways out of his reach.
Sighing to himself he looked around at the area trying to find something that would give him the extra boost that he would need to climb up to the vent. Eventually he found what he was looking for, though a portion of the barrel and blown off most of the barrel of the tank and flown off rather than explode in the bright inferno. Smart piece of metal even though it may no intelligence Anri laughed at the thought, picking up the barrel rather easily he brought it over to the side of the building, leaning it against its metal frame with a loud thud, no doubt they had heard the sound inside and were scrambling to figure out just what had caused the sound. Not that they would have to worry about it for long, if what Anri had in planned worked he couldn’t imagine anyone would survive his next deadly attack. Taking a good twenty feet back from the metal tube he took a running start, bouncing up the pole he jumped from its tip rocketing himself up the side of the wall. Reaching out he just managed to grip on to the lip of the box, though his large weight pulling down on it the metal, it squealed as it bent down towards the ground. After a few seconds the metal stopped its descent hold its place rather well given his rather large weight.
Ripping open the slitted cage that covered the tube he tossed it below sending it cascading towards the graveyard below him. Yanking himself up he sat on the lip of the air duct looking over the factory district that surrounded him, though most of it was worn away it still a certain decaying beauty too it. However nice the view was though he had come across a snag, his body was too large to fit inside the box shaped entrance. Anri had thought that the dimensions of the opening would hinder his movement but that was alright, always planning a step forward his plan would follow through just as he a planned. Flipping his muscles on this neck the little red gills began to flutter as the air around him began to be sucked into his body. All Vennor had this ability to take in elements in the surrounding air and excrete other gases of their choice, the skill was ability to use by all of his kind but mastering it was something entirely different. Each of the muscles in his neck had to be trained over many years to produce the correct gas, it was a difficult process to those with little experience but those that had mastered the ability could perform the act in just a few seconds, almost as easily as breathing.
His neck swelled slightly as the extra pair of lungs in his neck began to fill with a toxic gases he had been brewing, with the correct muscle movements be could decide on how the gas would come out. Certain movements would produce different gases at different potency’s; while sometimes the gas would make a person feel sick, with a slight adjustment and their family is at the funeral. Powerful in the hands of someone that could master if but dangerous in those that had little knowledge of the skills, which is why it isn’t taught to a Vennor until they join their military.
Feeling that the gas had been well formed and ready for action he leaned his body back until his plated armor rubbed against the metal frame of the air duct. With one small push of a muscle the gas was released from his neck, the gills flipping up and out letting a green gas flow from his body. With the air intake system working it quickly began sucking up the gas down the air duct and inside the building, with any luck the gas would instantly kill anyone that wasn’t protected from such a thing. Even though Anri knew that he was killing at least a dozen people he took some comfort in the fact that they wouldn’t suffer much. The toxic he pushed from his neck was heavily contracted, after taking a few breaths the gas would cause the victim to gasp for breath for a few seconds before their air ways closed up. He guessed that after breathing the gas in, it would only take about five seconds before they would perish, it was fast acting. He had learned it in his time in the academy but a thought came to his mind, if all Vennor were immune to such gases who came up with such a gas used for killing people, and why? It was pointless using it one kill their own people even in times of a military coup, whoever it was used on could just use their gills to breathe normally until the gas wore off. The idea poked at him mind because it really made no since to train a army to use a technique they would never need to use, it was a waste of time that could be spent on more useful things like hand to hand or weapon drills. Slowly the idea came to his mind, did his government know there was other life out there without telling their people? Anri always knew there was, it was impossible for there not to be life other than just them, the vale was fair too large for their not too be.
The only idea that he could come up with is that his government knew such things and didn’t tell the public but why hide such information, it didn’t make sense to him. Shaking his head he forced the train of thought to the back of his mind, there were other far more important things going on right below him, his home was light years away at this point he could worry about that later. Swinging his legs out and away from the building he let the momentum of the force pull him from the ledge, letting himself fall to the ground. Crashing in to the metal surface his feet made a indention into the flooring, not much of shock too him, he knew he was heavy compared to the people that lived here. He thought it was the stations way of letting him know that he was fat, but back on Riva his weight would have been five times heavier than here on Alpha Prime.
Strolling over to the front of the door he pressed his ear against the metal door and listening for any sounds of life. He doubt that anyone had lived through such a thing as his gas, but stranger things had happened to him before. Nodding his head he confirmed that he couldn’t hear anything, but playing on the safe side he kicked down the door, if anyone had been behind it they would have certainly had quiet some trauma. The door flew off its hinges flying out and way from its frame, slamming against a far wall the impacted metal rang throughout the factory. Peering inside he could see bodies lying spread across the floor in neat little heaps as they have collapsed over reach other as the gas had invaded their bodies. Anri gave a weak grin as he looked over his handy work, it had been the first time that he had ever used that gas on a living being and he was glad to see how well it had worked. Seeing that his job was no completed he turned his back on the factory now heading back too Nesu and the lovely fat stack he knew was waiting for him.
