Conri had started to come to from the previous training session, which Marisa had lessened the restraints on the protections against the mind actually causing damage during the simulations to make it more real for him. As he did, she began starting up the gravity, turning it up to thirty times the normal amount and turning the simulator back on, running from where it was left off. With Conri chained to the wall of a dungeon awaiting his interrogation and possible execution at the hands of some little maniac. It was the smell that got him to wake up, dungeons weren't exactly known for their cleanliness and this one was no exception to that. His eyelids felt heavy as he lifted them to see what he could in the dimly lit room, making out the small room and the door across the room. The only opening was the small barred window and that was the limit of his vision, for ways out of here. Glancing to the side, he could see the skeleton in the corner that used to be this room's previous tenant. Pulling at his restraints he noticed that he couldn't gather his strength, something was preventing him using his power.
“You'll find that the shackles you're in have a draining effect on you and the sedatives we pumped into your system will be making sure you can't use your physical strength. Precautions for all of my visitors,” the little punk of a ruler spoke an arrogant smile on his lips. If these things had been designed for prisoners like him then that meant there were people here that could use abilities like he could as well. He knew the king or whatever was one from the way he had powered up and struck the Half-Saiyan, to know that there were possibly more was an interesting thing. Of course, none of it helped him any if he couldn't find a way to get out of here, but one thing at a time. He had to deal with the idiot in front of him first before he decided to do anything else and things weren't looking up for him. That could always change, but he needed to think the situation through, maybe try to find a way out of this without having to resort to using brute force. Sadly, things weren't looking up I that regard, but he had to try all the same.
“By the way, just so you don't waste your time, I am a telepath. I can read your mind,” he patted Conri's cheek before smiling at the next few choice phrases the Half-Saiyan could think up on the spot. Well, if that was the case he could think of a few ways to anger this guy rather easily if he was a telepath. It was even easier knowing his perception of the world right now, so he could use his own mind as a weapon. It was the only thing he had to work with right now, and if he could piss this guy off enough he could make mistakes himself so it was win-win. The thoughts started to flood into his head like a damn bursting and letting all the water it had been holding back loose. It was easy to see the change in the man's expression as he tried to read Conri's mind once more, it continued to grow darker and darker. Each new image adding to the anger that was already there, and he could see the veins starting to bulge, a simple smile conveying the fact that he had beaten the king at his own game. Then the fist followed after cracking him across the jaw and causing sharp pain to shot through his mouth for a brief second. That was probably his teeth biting down onto his cheek, which was why he was tasting something coppery right now.
“Stop that right now, you dare put me in such thoughts with that abomination?! I won't bother questioning you now. Instead we'll just have you executed right away. Does that suit you better?” he didn't bother to wait for an answer as he left the room. Well, that escalated quickly, but maybe there was a way to work this to his advantage so that he could get out of this mess. Being executed was not on his to do list, and he planned to keep it that way, even if this was a simulation. Whatever sedatives they used kept him from using strength over that of a regular human, the advantage was, he only needed the strength of a human that didn't fight or train. Pulling the chains on his arms as far as they would go, he then lifted himself into a position where his hand could reach into his pocket. The one thing that would help him out of this situation was a senzu bean, and that had been in his pants pocket. Probably not the best place to be keeping them, he would have to figure out something for that to make sure he had easy access if he needed it for real. Thankfully, Marisa created a simulation use senzu bean so that he wouldn't use any real ones he had around.
The next morning the guards came to drag him out to the courtyard where he was to be executed, the shackles had been removed since they were using an old fashioned guillotine for his sentence. It seemed rather interesting the methods that they used to execute. He figured there would be something a bit more modern like a firing squad, but hey this made things much simpler for him. When the king was present, Conri began to fill his mind with those same images over and over again to keep him from reading his mind. Meanwhile he maneuvered the senzu bean around in his mouth and began to chew on it as discreetly as possible to avoid someone figuring out what he was doing and trying to stop him. As soon as he swallowed the King's eyes went wide with surprise, but it was already too late for him to do anything as Conri used his power to break free. The king did not like this and tried to rush him with his own power, the difference was, the little shrimp underestimated his power. By the time he realized it though, it was too late as Conri grabbed his arm and pulled it under the blade of the guillotine, then brought the blade down with incredible force. The limpness in the arm told him that he had succeeded in what he wanted to do, and the blood curdling scream confirmed it.
His mind still wasn't one hundred percent, but for right now he would let his body react however it wanted to threats. He was about to start dealing with the guards when he heard people screaming, turning to see what the cause of it was, he was surprised to see the massive form of the wolf from the other day. That was just what he needed on top of trying to deal with all these guards was to have to evade the wolf as it tried to eat him again. If he didn't know better, and it was possible that he didn't, he would say that Marisa was trying to kill him with this simulation. It would be the one sure fire way to take him out though, inside of a simulation taking the safeties down, one wrong hit and it could send a signal to his brain that dropped him. When it came rushing at him he was about to reel his fists back when it lowered its head and flung him onto its back, turning to rush out of the castle once more. The change of pace from it had him a bit dumbfounded, but he recovered from it when the bullets started flying at him. When he looked, it was then that he noticed Fragarach was attached to the waist of the king, and he needed to fix that, reaching out his arm he yanked forcefully and used his telekinesis to grab it back to him. A thought moving through his mind and the sword transformed into a pistol-like weapon, the difference with this one was that the barrel was a point seventy-five caliber. Apparently in his half-delirious state he liked to use really big guns, and in this situation he was alright with it. Pulling the trigger, he braced himself on the wolf's back and watched as the rounds tore chunks out of the castle walls, causing all the guards to start taking cover.
Twirling in place he lowered his body against the wolf's and just tried to clear his mind while they escaped from the castle that he had been imprisoned. When they were into the woods once more, he patted the wolf to drop him off by a tree, and the beast obeyed him. This whole thing was still a bit weird for Conri given that it had been trying to eat him yesterday, but he wouldn't question it right now. His mind was still a bit foggy from the sedatives and it was starting to make the world around him spin, so he figured he would try to sleep them off while he could. Otherwise things could turn badly for him if something else came looking for him, he might not be able to defend himself properly this time. Closing his eyes, he tried to relax his body which came all too easily and he was out like a light before he even realized what had happened. At least with his eyes closed the world didn't look like it was spiraling around him, which helped him to settle the rest of his body. The only thing that he could really sense like this was that the wolf had laid down near him as if taking up a protective stance. This day was getting weirder and weirder by the minute, but he wasn't about to complain or look a gift horse in the mouth.
Opening his eyes once more, his head was still a bit groggy, but it was much better than it had been earlier that day. Which meant that whatever had been in his system was almost out now, and he would be better prepared for any new attacks that might head his way. With his head clear things seemed to be getting sorted a lot better, the downside was that his conscience was fully up and running again as well. He was regretting removing the arm of that arrogant asshole, simply for the fact that it had been more brutal than what he intended to do, but it was too late to make up for it. Right now he was rolling with the punches and so far it had him coming ahead with all the wounds, unless there were some he hadn't noticed through the lack of mental clarity.
Lifting his shirt, he started to examine his body for any new marks on it, just to make sure he didn't need to repay anyone for them. That was when he noticed a few gashes and a whole or two, likely from the bullets that had been fired at him and the wolf during their escape. With that thought in mind, he stood up and walked over to the large creature and began to pat it down, checking it for any wounds that it might have on it. Thankfully, the wolf seemed to have a better time avoiding getting hurt than Conri did, which also made the Half-Saiyan a bit disgruntled considering the wounds he had on his body. Though he was glad that the wolf was alright given that it had come to rescue him when he was about to be in the middle of a massive shootout and he didn't have Fragarach with him at the time. Still, the thing was a lucky sonofabitch for getting out of that whole mess without a scratch, he would need to figure out how this thing did that. The next stage was to figure out what was going on in this little game of Marisa's, apparently she was trying to do something with the way this 'story' was going now. So, if the castle was out of the question, maybe the rebels that the woman from before had been talking about the other day, it was his best bet at getting any kind of direction in this place. Patting the wolf's head, he motioned for it to follow him as he began to head to the last place that he had seen her, they needed to check for a trail. That or maybe the wolf would be able to sniff something out with his nose, and then they could track these people down to get some much needed answers about this place.
He figured this would keep going until he found a way to 'win' this little game, because his AI was a bit of a psycho like that. She tried to think of it as helping him grow into a 'more fitting role' for what his organization was supposed to be standing for, but it was trying to make him a sociopath. The issue with that was Conri knew better than to fall for simply ploys like that, if there was even the smallest chance for another option to succeed, then he would be taking that and running as far as he could. When his walking pace wasn't enough for his companion, he was suddenly hoisted up onto the large creature's back once more, before it took off at a pace that could be only be matched by his actual base fully running. So instead of fighting it, he leaned down close to become a bit more aerodynamic and letting the wind blow by him as well as through his hair. He had to admit that this was a faster way to travel, plus it was kind of fun, he wondered if there were real wolves like this one in the universe. Then again maybe he would just make a motorcycle for traveling purposes, that could be just as fun, especially with a little tweaking to amp the power up on it. He doubted a real wolf would be as easy to tame as this one had been, although it wasn't all that easy considering he had to fight the damn thing.
When they reached the location he dropped down to see if there were any tracks left by the woman, that he could track her down with his new found companion. He focused on the ground for any footprints that might have been caused by her running or trying to get away from the troops. It didn't take him long to notice one of the branches a good ways into the forest had been broken, possibly left as a trail or possibly just the woman not realizing she was leaving an easy to follow sign. As the wolf passed by the tree, he used his electrokinesis to hit the broken branch and a few other spots around that tree with a bolt of lightning to cover the trail. The next spot he had the wolf scratch it up a bit so that it would just look like an animal using the tree to mark its territory. That way he wouldn't have to worry about anyone following them to wherever they were headed, granted it was a bit trickier than he would have liked, but these things took time, and making sure they were safe was a priority that was worth the time.
The area on the other side of where he met the wolf was much less densely populated with trees, but there was also more bushes scattered about the area. Probably a good place for a food source in two ways, the berries themselves and the animals it brought into the area to eat them. Heading further into the area, he figured they would be getting close to the supposed camp that the woman mentioned, granted she mentioned that walking would take a day or two, she probably didn't account for a wolf faster than his old motorcycle. It didn't take too much longer with the speed behind the wolf, although he would have preferred a less bumpy right, but beggars can't be choosers after all. As soon as he entered the area where there were a few huts, he was aware that there were people nearby watching, but he couldn't sense where they were located. This was getting a bit out of hand with people trying to deal with him as if he were an enemy, and if someone attacked him, he wasn't going to play nice.
The wolf had similar thoughts as it was crouched low, waiting for something to come out so that it could take it apart with its teeth. Conri would prefer having to resort to that though, so before the situation escalated he was going to make sure that everyone understood the situation. That and make sure that they understood he was not in the mood for games with anyone anymore, it was time he started to get some answers regarding what the hell was going on.
“Anyone that is within range of this, I have one thing to say; Come out of hiding now, I am not someone you want to try ambushing and my friend here has a worse temper than I do. So it's in everyone’s best interest that things go as smoothly as possible here. So, we'll go with fifteen seconds for the time you have to comply,” he wasn't trying to sound like an asshole, but he wasn't going to take anymore attacks or anything. His eyes scanning the trees to make sure there were no surprise air visits like the last time he had been in the area. However, it didn't take long for an elderly man to come out from one of the huts with his hands up, but his face seemed like he wasn't too worried. Not that he had anything to fear from Conri, but that was a bit insulting after everything he had just said. Ah well, this technically wasn't real, so he would just need to roll with the punches.
“Put your hands down, I'm not gonna hurt you, I just am getting sick of being attacked myself. Now, can anyone tell me what the hell is going on in this place? There's a lot of disproportionate technology in certain areas and it's a bit confusing,” he figured he might be able to give a hint about what he wanted with the disproportionate technology. However, he didn't need the guy thinking he was with those crackpots in the castle either, although he supposed his fluffy companion helped sell the point that he wasn't with them. Unless they had a group that rode these things too in which case he was going to need to keep an eye out for anything coming after him. The old man lowered his arms and motioned to the areas around him with a nod, and the sensation that he was being watched vanished almost immediately. That was still somewhat annoying since he didn't like unknowns being involved with him like that, especially if he was going to try helping them. That meant there were wild cards at play that he couldn't use properly, and that was more dangerous than anything in situations where he was essentially by himself.
“I assume you met the self proclaimed King by the way you are speaking? We have no idea where he came from, but when he appeared before us, it was already too late. We were treated as invalids by his men and reduced greatly in population within the first few years of his reign. It was designated as a statement to counteract any rebellious thoughts, but his actions had the opposite effect,” the old man spoke, trying to maintain a neutrality in the discussion, but Conri could hear the slight tones of anger from him. It seemed that there were some close ties to that story for him, but he wouldn't pry into it, that wasn't his business here anyways. However, if this guy really was that bad then it would probably be best for Conri to deal with him and try to end the simulation that way. It seemed like the easiest scenario for him to win with, but he would keep his eyes open for any details that his delightfully sadistic AI might have left about the world. Nothing was ever so easy as it seemed and this likely wasn't an exception to that rule, so he would be vigilante.
“Now I have a question for you, young one. Why are you here? Surely you did not seek us out just for some information regarding that man?” he probed, almost with an eerily amount of skill in that. The funny thing was that he actually was here just for some information, though it hadn't only been pertaining to that man. He just wanted to know what was going on in the world and find a way to fix things so that Marisa would let him out again. She could be awfully stubborn when she wanted to teach him something about either himself or something that she believed he should know, and he wasn't sure which one this was either. Which could turn into something a bit scary if it really came down to it, there was plenty that he knew about himself, and if she wanted him to do something specific it could go horribly wrong incredibly fast. If he had to make a guess, it would be about the little gun/bomb that he had inside of him, figuratively speaking of course, and she was probably worried about it going off on the wrong people or at the wrong time. So far he had been lucky, but the last few days he may have had a bit of a psychotic episode in terms of hearing something or possibly just perceiving something as heard when it wasn't actually there. He wouldn't admit it to anyone though, especially not when there was only one real cure for what he had going on inside of him.
“I'd actually like to know a bit more about the rest of the world as well, surely it isn't just you two groups here fighting it out, is it? I mean, that seems a little small for such a vast world, right?” he figured there had to be more to it than that. However, when he asked that question the old man seemed to tense up visibly and wasn't hiding his nervousness regarding talking about anything else that might be going on in the planet. Somehow, he really didn't like that reaction, like it was going to lead up to something really bad and he wasn't sure if he wanted to hear about it. Then again, he already asked so he may as well open the gates and let whatever was on the other side come at him. The problem was the nervousness or to be more accurate; the feat prevented the old man from saying anything about what else might be lurking around the place. Just when he was about to give up on looking for the information a familiar face came out from a different hut with bandages on her wings and a scowl on her face. Crossing her arms she seemed to be contemplating trying to get the jump on him, or she was before her eyes set on the creature he was riding. Her eyes widened to the size of saucers as she stared at the creature as if she was having a dream.
“The other thing that is infesting this planet is something we have never seen before, they have skin like steel and have weapons far surpassing even the king and his men. They can come disguised as regular people, so we have some animals nearby to warn us if something unfamiliar approaches. If I were you, I would not try to mess with them,” she offered what seemed to be friendly advice. Rheia was an interesting one, he couldn't quite peg where they stood with each other, but at the very least he would assume they were even now. Which meant he needed to be on guard the next time they met as she was likely going to attack him again for her wings, and he would rather not have to deal with all that again. It seemed that since she had come out to talk to him, the other villagers felt a bit more assured that he wasn't about to do anything and slowly came out of their huts. While they didn't go completely back to normal, they started to go return to their duties still keeping their eyes on the new person that had found their village. Although the ones that did act normally were the children who went about to playing once more, as if there was nothing interesting in the area. He supposed he could understand their mindset, and was a little amused at how well they had been taking things.
“From the sounds of it, you're dealing with androids, which depending on the type I suppose, aren't actually made of flesh and bone. That doesn't sound too bad actually, I've dealt with them before, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal to take them down,” speaking his thoughts out loud, he paused in what he was saying as the people stared at him as if he was insane. Then again hearing everything he said, if he didn't deal with it on a regular basis then he would think he was crazy as well, thankfully that wasn't the case here. At least, it wasn't the case yet. Still, there was something else that he had to take care of before he headed back from where he came, and it was probably important to the little village's safety as well.
“By the way, when you want to make sure no one follows you, it's best to cover your tracks which includes broken branches and tracks. We managed to get all the ones we could find, so it should be alright, just a future caution,” Rheia and the elder turned to each other for a moment in curiosity, and then back to Conri with raised eyebrows. Which then caused a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach and he patted the side of the wolf as he jumped down. Motioning to the wolf he had it go by the kids as protection for what was likely about to come at them. There wasn't likely going to be enough time to prepare defenses and that left one other option for him, which was not going to be easy in the slightest he had to make this a good one. Unsheathing Fragarach with one hand he motioned for the others to start moving to try and get into their huts, he had to protect them until he could create an opening for them to escape. Thinking of a way to provide cover fire, he smirked slightly at a thought and thought of the weapon that he would need for this little operation, Fragarach immediately responding to his desires. A large, six-barreled mini gun formed in his hands and he released his full power to make sure that he could make the most of this little opportunity to fully let loose. If there was one surefire way to piss off the Half-Saiyan was to involve children in any kind of battle, and if his guess was right, there were androids trying to do just that.
Pulling on the trigger, he heard the weapon start to wind up and come to life before the silence in the forest was suddenly broken by the large sound of the gun firing. Whatever was around in terms of trees, bushes, or hiding places was suddenly ripped to shreds as he spun around with his new toy, making sure to avoid the huts and his wolf friend. When everything was laid to waste, he looked around the area for any signs of the androids that might have been scouting the area. Shifting the blade back into a sword, he readied himself for some high intensity combat, but it seemed that things had gone quiet once more. It was really annoying not being able to sense the power levels of androids as well, it made this whole thing a lot harder to deal with because they could attack from anywhere.
“Everyone alright? I know I may have gone a bit overboard, but I feel like it's a good time to try and make it clear I'm on your side. So don't worry about anything hitting you all,” he probably should have made the comment before shooting everything around them. He figured the fact that they and their huts were unharmed would be better proof of that though. Just when he was about to suggest that it be safe now, there was a scream from the hut with the children in it. He didn't waste time with waiting to see what happened, his body was moving into motion before his brain could even react. Kicking the door open, he saw the wolf on its haunches with teeth barred at the one person, and ready to attack at the slightest motion of movement from it. The downside was, that it had disguised itself as a child and was holding another one hostage while it tried to get away from the wolf. He really hated this situation, mostly because his damn AI knew what his weaknesses were and seemed to enjoy tormenting him with them. The upside was that he knew the hostage holder wasn't a real one and had something in mind to deal with it, but he needed the other child to be taken out of harms way before he could put it through.
Eyes scanned around the area for something or someone that he could utilize to get the kid away from the machine. What he had in mind was going to be something that put out a lot of power and was not something that should be done with people nearby. It seemed that Marisa wasn't completely against him, however, as he caught glimpse of the dragoness out of the corner of his vision trying to sneak up behind the creature. The advantage was that he doubted these androids were equipped with scouters, but he figured keeping its attention was the better thing to do and so began to gather energy along the edge of the sword. That made the android a bit defensive and moved behind the child to where Rheia could trip it up without getting the kid hurt, and with a whistle the wolf moved just as quickly to pull the child away from harm. That was when it was Conri's turned and he slashed with the razor edge, splitting the android clean in half as sparks started to come from its head.
When it was done he exited the hut once more and scanned the area again, trying to find any other source of attack that might occur. He was about to continue when suddenly the simulation was interrupted by Marisa, who had shut the entire thing down. Which was a bit painful for his eyes to go from forest area to bright lit training room instantly.
“What the hell, Marisa? Why did you shut it down in the middle?” he figured there was an important reason, but he could have used a bit of warning. Rubbing his eyes, he was starting to feel a bit drained at the moment, a strange feeling given the rest that he had gotten before now.
“Sorry, Conri. I figured it was time for you to get some sleep, since it was only simulated earlier,” those words seemed to caused a change of expression in the man, one of extreme annoyance as he left the gravity chamber without a word to go sleep. He was going to need to do something with her to get her to stop messing with his head.
“You'll find that the shackles you're in have a draining effect on you and the sedatives we pumped into your system will be making sure you can't use your physical strength. Precautions for all of my visitors,” the little punk of a ruler spoke an arrogant smile on his lips. “By the way, just so you don't waste your time, I am a telepath. Well, if that was the case he could think of a few ways to anger this guy rather easily if he was a telepath.
