(On a side note I wish to apologize for talking so long to respond man, been busy doing other stuff. Know that's not a good excuse but I hope you enjoy the post.)
Everything was a in a blur of motion to Anri, the ricocheting of the lead based bullets, the shocks of fear and confusion that filled the hallway, even his own heart beat seem to slow down before him, the waves that the bullets made as they tore through air seemed to be visible too him as if he could dance between every shot fired with such grace that it would put a professional dancer to shame, however that was not the way he was taught to fight not when there was a clear advantage on his side. Even with having to take careful watch over Ivan as his soft frame was not built to withstand a chuck of metal that broke through the sound barrier, he was in the zone, everything was but a mere arms length away from him. Often times this feeling came upon him whenever the heat of the battle came on, his inner heat would a light like a sun going super nova and in that fraction of a second he could see all that lay visible to his eye, making the would seem naked and bland from his own eyes. The small shifts of pores of the alines faces that surrounded him, the gentle movements their tight suits made on their chests as they breathed through the armor they wore, beads of sweat that formed at their brows knowing all too well that they were facing their armored reaper, none of them thought this was going to be the way that their lives would be snuffed out but no one every truly knows of their own death till its staring into the blacks of their eyes. Heavy breathing filled his ears as he took in every sensation that was possible to precieve too his alien anatomy, the taste of sweat and blood, terror that filled their eyes, the hard steel that clamped onto his wrist, and the sweet smell of blood lust that filled his chest cavity. Though not even himself knew it yet all but two would walk out of this corridor too tell the tale of his encounter, many of these creatures lives flashed before their eyes, birth, first kiss, marriage, and then finally death, as if they life cycle had started and ended just in a blink of an eye.
Eyes growing wide as if they were grinning at the feeble attempts of the troops as they fired everything in hopes that if would phase the unknown alien, a few of them even prayed to their own gods for salvation, but no beacon of hope would come to save them, the angel of death had arrived on their door steps wielding an mighty steel hammer of death to banish their souls to hell for all eternity. His usual plan for a head on attack would be all that more difficult taking Ivan in to account but once Anri got worked up there was little that anything or anyone could to do stop the behemoth from accomplishing whatever it was that he was setting out to do. The steel door bent and wrapped with his fingers tight grip growing all the harder as in a blur of movement he dash away from Ivan's side only for a few seconds, he saw a spray of bullets heading straight towards the mans crouched position but he wouldn't be gone but longer than a few seconds... that was the plan at least.
With a yell that could stand up to that of an volcanic eruption Anri charged straight forward too whoever it was that was closets to his position, it didn't matter who they were, each one's death would simply be placed in order by just how close they were too his hand. Effort wasn't something Anri had much to put into this, his strength was lacking but his vast speed more than made up for his lack of power, with just how weak theses beings were compared to his own powers they would buckle like wet tissues against his fists. A single one of his jabs shot out at the solider aimed at the man's temple, like an egg shell being stricken with a mallet. The impact site seemed little damaged until the wave of force traveled from one side of the helmet through the skull and out the other side as a slurry of brain matter, bone and metal spewed froth like a fountain from the other side of his skull. There was no need to pause to make sure the hit was even effective, Anri had felt his bare bone tap the helmets surface, that was good enough for his standards.
Shifting his position Anri pivoted on his leg as his current momentum spun him around on his axis, with his out stretching hand wielding the mighty steel door he brought it around on its edge as it made contact with another soldiers neck. A sound only comparable too that of wet snap filled the air amongst the shower and rings of bullets, if anyone's eyes were too the point that they could witness just what Anri was doing in his high speeds they would take notice that they soldiers body went limp with his eyes rolling back into his head just before his body took flight and impacted the wall- or more of went through the wall in a blood mesh of bones and guts. The shear speed of the hit had more than just snapped the man's neck but had sent him at a velocity so quickly his body had turned to mostly liquid before striking the walls surface, little more than skin sack filled with a blood pulp at this point, it sent a wave of blood showering across the room.
Whipping back around to face Ivan Arni saw the bullets as they were approaching his position to where he had been not but seconds earlier, at the rate they were moving they would easily tear through his flesh like a hot iron on butter. Leaping forward in another blur of speed Anri once again calling upon his trusty shield to deal with the targets, but not before protecting Ivan. In flipping like motion Anri jumped over Ivan as he held the shield up just as he would pass over Ivan, coming down right in front of his nose and dropping a few more feet down the bullets would meet their maker, shattering into sparks and crumbles of shrapnel the led would fling off into various locations, though mostly they would embed themselves into the walls that surrounded them.
Making a full one-hundred eighty flip Anri would land back on his feet before Ivan with his body bent at his waist with the bullet ridden shield held at an horizontal position to the flooring. With his arm still holding firmly onto steel door he loosing his grip flipping the door out and away from his body like that of a frisby and it even acted in a similar fashion, unlike before were he relied fully on his speed to remove the last two guards he focused on his strength for his one. The launch had been sporadic in nature and as it flew down the hallway it was clear, wobbling from side to side with the off balance weight and the built up power behind the door it tilted into the walls tearing a large track down their length, making a large patchy path that followed in its wake. Down the hallway stood the two aliens that were firing upon them, from a range they clearly had the advantage but the whirling steel chuck that had been tossed at them was not something that had been trained to deal with. There wasn't even time for them to register the fact that their bodies were sliced into two as a spurt of blood shot out from a large one inch line that separated the their torso's from their lower half's.
Even as they stood almost frozen and unware what became of them the steel door continued down the hallway not even stopping once it met face to face with a wall, at the speed it was traveling its velocity was still increasing tearing through the wall as if Anri had tossed a playing card through sheet of paper, leaving a thin line the exact wide of the door through were it had passed. Though there had only been four of the guards in the small section they were at he was sure there was more to come soon enough, and if theses were just the welcoming party there was going to be stronger to come.
The rain of bullets came to a silent stand still as what was once left of the men and their guns were either now chopped in half or laying an a pool of what once used to be their bodies. Taking a breath everything seemed to flow back to normal as blood rained over his plates and a bloody groan rang out through two of the guards mouths, collapsing under death they lay limp dripping with blood from their lower regions, or what was left of their bodies. Anri knew that such a sight would more than likely be traumatizing too that of Ivan, a man who by no means ever did anything such as... well such as this.
Though Ivan had be speaking through most of that time Anri had himself missed most of it, coming in as mumbled waves over the gun shots and blood.
"Eh sorry, could you repeat that last part?" Anri chuckled almost as if nothing had just happened in the hallway, he was sure that Ivan had a decent plan with the great mind he held behind his eyes but he had been so caught up in everything that he had missed most of which he was talking about.

Ivan crouched behind the Vennor. His eyes were closed shut, his hands over his head and his body trembling with fear. There was nothing he could do to help Anri with his fight, so what would be as harmless as just cowering in fear behind the man? He could have attempted to shoot someone and perhaps help him with that one kill, and even if he missed -which was most probably going to happen- it would have served as a distraction; otherwise, it would have brought attention to the scientist's presence and made him a target. The thought process continued to twist in cycles of never ending conclusions that paralyzed the man from any kind of movement. After all, anything he'd attempt to do would be so miniscule, Anri wouldn't even feel the weight lifted from his shoulders because the fight was already so easy. The Vennor didn't need help and Ivan recognized that. The most he could do was stay out of harms way so they wouldn't use the weakest to tame the strongest.
Crouched in fear, the scientist hadn't even noticed that Anri left his side. He hadn't even noticed that, among the cluster of gunfire, one of those bullets were meant for him. He just continued to utter the plan, pretending that his frightened voice could be heard through all the noise and he wouldn't have to repeat himself, or perhaps Anri was already getting ready to follow the plan. The only thing he felt -or thought he felt, was a sudden breeze lifting the small hairs poking out of his helmet. By the time he opened his eyes to peek in front of him, Anri was already back in time to block the bullet which would have taken his life. Next, Anri tossed their shield like a frisby across the room. The metallic door continued through the wall without any delay, carving a deep line on the wall that followed its shape and size to perfection. It was like using a hot wire to cut through foam.
"Eh sorry, could you repeat that last part?" The Vennor chuckled, as if nothing had just happened in the hallway. Ivan gazed past his large image. The room was completely quiet, perhaps some footsteps far to the end of the room, but it would be a while before more of them arrived. The scientist gasped in awe and abhorrence to the halls painted red with the blood of the soldiers. The walls were littered with red sludge that crawled down towards the floor. The only men he spotted were the two soldiers at the end of the room who had been split in half by their shield frisby. Gore spilled from their wounds as they lay lifelessly on the ground with greyed out eyes.
"Where are the soldiers!?" he asked in disbelief, unaware -but speculative- that all of the soldiers Anri had been fighting had been reduced to the red sacks of blood that filled the halls and tainted the walls. It was then that the scientist finally understood, his eyes widening as if they were opening for the very first time. A sense of dread washed over him and traveled down his spine, tear drops forming at the end of his eyelids. They were only supposed to rob the casino. The mission was to find the vault and strip it of any and all riches found therein. Then they would escape from whence they came and live happy lives. But the scientist ignored the part in-between the mission, what would be necessary for the mission's completion. He had equipped himself with guns and grenades without even thinking about what they were used for. Somehow, the prospect of shooting someone had passed over his head completely. It was one thing to talk about shooting and preparing yourself for it, but doing it and taking another's life, and being exposed to it as their bodies lay on the ground and on the walls, it was like an epiphany, like realizing for the very first time. He realized, they were the bad guys in this scenario. Everyone who saw them only attacked out of fear and self-defense. They were the villains, Anri and Ivan.
The scientist suddenly felt uneasy. He lowered himself to the ground, propped his hand to the floor to support his weight. "I don't want to do this anymore..." he uttered, his voice trembling. The tears finally left his eyes and washed down his cheeks, dripping onto the blood stained floor. That's when he realized his hands were also covered in the blood. That's right. He was a part of this. There was no denying that he had taken another's life; perhaps not directly, but by association. He had killed countless lives by helping Nesu and many more standing here with Anri. The deaths in this hall alone was more than he could handle, yet, if they continued with the mission, more lives would be lost and he helped.
The screen on his helmet still displayed the map of the building's top floor. At the corner of the screen, small and discreet yet visible enough, there was a single message. "Please do as Nesu says," he read. The scientist grit his teeth and clenched his hands on the floor. If he were as strong as Anri, his fingers would have purged through the ground, but instead he just ended up hurting his hand. That's right, he thought. They weren't doing this for the money to begin with. They weren't doing this because they wanted to. They were doing it because they had people they cared about and they needed to make sure that Nesu would not hurt them. The Doctor was already suffering, and every moment Ivan hesitated was another moment where his reptilian friend was spilling blood from his bowels and stepping closer to the edge of death. There was a time limit and it was beginning to weight on his crouched back.
"We'll do as you say," he said, having a hidden conversation with Nesu's image. "Just not the way you expect..."
The scientist wipes away his tears and climbs to his feet. Anri would have probably been confused beyond words but the scientist motioned with his hand for the Vennor to lean closer. If Anri complied, the scientist would give him a light tap behind the neck with his hand. "That's all you need," he said. "If you hit them behind the neck with that amount of force, they'll drop unconscious. We don't have to play by Nesu's rules Anri, let's not kill anymore innocent people."
Ivan peers above to some nearby vents. "I have a new plan. Do you think you could get me into those vents over there?" He pointed overhead.

The blurs of movement dying down Anri had turned his attention back onto Ivan, who up to this point hadn't moved but an inch from where he had last been at his side. Disappointment was the first thing to come to the alien's mind at the fact that he hadn't even made so much as a attempt to fire this weapon off, the sleek black barrel was still cool, with no hint of smoke coming out from the chamber. Anri had known this might have happened, after all he was not a trained killer such as himself, Anri's people had grown up through the eon's with the knowledge of killing in their blood, it wasn't until later years that it was refined into something more graceful and less violent than simple murder. Compared to many other races he had come across his people seemed much more animistic in nature than the rest of them in the sense killing was something that many of his people had no qualms with doing, seeing it more as their own survival over anothers, similar too that of an animal. Most would have blamed the military of Riva too blame for the cold-blood of its warriors but they were more of a solution than that of an problem, they taught how to fight and just not recklessly kill another, only to kill if the order was given too do so or if their life was imminent danger.
Craning his head to look up at Anri, Ivan questioned what had happened to the soldiers that up till a few seconds ago were flailing bullets through the hallway at them. Anri cocked his head to the side at Ivan's question as his eyes lingered across the room taking in all that he had done to the troopers, he had been so caught up in just killing that he hadn't taken notice of just really began of them. A bloody smear was the best way to describe what was left of the second person he had taken out, Anri had taken notice of the snap in his neck but not very much of what happened after. It seems as though his body didn't even make a dent on the wall with just how quickly his body turned into a sack of goo, most of it still clung onto the sides of the wall though as the few blood hunks of flesh slowly sipped down its face.
Turning around in a small circle Anri took a look at his handy work, it wasn't bad for what limited tools he had at his time, not to mention he had to protect Ivan as well.
"Hmm... well... there over there...and there... I think I see a finger down the hallway, and that chuck of arm used to belong to him...." His words continued on as he pointed out all the mixed matched, scattered body parts, and pools of blood. There was neither joy or sadness in his voice as he did this, just similar pure truth of the matter, he was just answering Ivan's question as he asked it, though the more he thought about it, it might have just been in shock and not an actual question. Anri's eyes trailed back over to Ivan's as he could see them growing wide with terror, beads of tears pooled into the corner of his eyes giving them the glassy look as though he was going to cry. It looked as though the realvity of what was really going on had set in on Ivan, the blood, killings, death, all of it was pressing down on him like a neutron star. Anri questioned how Ivan did not know what he was getting himself into, already the assault team had killed at least a couple dozen people, these weren't rubber bullets they were using here, this was pure metal going so fast it tore into ones skin.
Where the shock and fear had worn off it was only replaced with a look of sickness of Ivan's face, the gut wrenching feeling of having been a part of this. Watching from above Ivan had to use his hand to steady his wobbling frame from going off to one side or the other, the overwhelming feeling from having watched so many people die upon his vision must have been greater than his body could handle; Anri had no problems will killing his first person... but Ivan... Ivan was much different than himself. Ivan was a man...creature... person of science, he did not devout his time to studying the fine arts of fighting or for even that matter killing, his actions were purely for the advancement of life its self, not to extinguishing it.
Caught up in his own thoughts Anri had barley heard Ivan, his voice trembling with uncertainly and sickness. Anri wished to say something, but what was there to say? It wasn't as though they had much of a choice being here, they had both been force too accompany this plan, neither one of them wanted to have part to do with this but they had others they cared about in danger because of their association with Nesu. In the harsh reality of everything Ivan just had to suck it up and deal with it, there was no way out for either of them as of right now, there would been no time for them to grieve on the mistakes of joining with Nesu too kill count less people. Going in to pick Ivan up by the arm he heard Ivan speak up, his voice seeming to have gained some control back on his over his own body, though the random trembles could still be seen shaking their way through him. Anri wasn't sure just what to make out what he was saying, almost as if he was talking out loud to himself and not the alien; perhaps a mental pep talk?
Pulling away from Ivan as he stood up Anri could make out the inflammation in Ivan's eyes from the amount of tears he must have been shedding, back on Riva he would have been mocked for his sign's of weakness but this was another world, with different ideas and customs; Anri was above making fun of the man so he kept his mouth closed at the site.
Motioning with his held out finger Ivan seemed to want Anri to come closer, though for what reason was beyond his mind, surely Ivan knew the helmets had communicators built within them? Indulging in Ivan's request Anri bent his back over and leaned down to where Ivan was now standing, though the small tap on his neck had not been expected from Ivan which caused Anri to smirk, though his eyes held a drop of confusion as to just why he had done that. Explaing that Anri did not need to kill them but just give them a light tap on the head Anri looked him over for a few seconds before shaking his head at Ivan's words. Anri had no issues with killing, it was nature by heart but he could clearly see that the act disturbed Ivan greatly... for his sake he would not kill, less it was necessary but it would be a difficult task to put so little power into his attacks too a point where it would knock them out but not kill them. It was indeed a challenge, and Anri loved them.
At the mention of a new plan Anri cocked his head to the side interested in what it might be, so far everything seemed to be working out well down the path they had taken, why bother changing it up? Asking for a boost up too the nearby air vent Anri paused for a second to look over the small hatch and then back down to Ivan.
"I suppouse, but what for?" Anri ask as he picked Ivan up from the scruff of his shirt until he was able to hold Ivan in the palms of his hands. With just how tall Anri was to being with it wasn't difficult to raise Ivan up to the hatch way.

A gasp escaped the scientist for a split second as the Vennor picked him off his feet from the collar of his shirt and lay him on the palm of his other hand without any effort whatsoever. It was amazing really, and it felt unusual to be managed like an object. Ivan literally felt like a piece of furniture as Anri led him towards the vent. The most Ivan could lift with a single hand outstretched before him was a small lamp -and even then, the lamp would wobble in his small hands and inevidently fall to the ground where it would shatter into zillions of irreparable pieces. The scientist knew that asking the Vennor not to kill would be a difficult thing to do considering his unhumane strength, but in the little time he knew the Vennor, he also knew that he was the type that liked challenges. He can tell from all the stories he had been told about his near-yet-not-so-near-death-experiences. Regardless, he appreciated that the Vennor would try to do as he asked and limit his power to just knocking off the troops that came their way.
Reaching for the vent, Ivan spoke as he took out a phillips screwdriver from a hidden pocket in his ankles. It was a weird thing to carry around, but Ivan thought it was handy for many things. "The other troops will be here soon enough," he explained as he unscrewed the screws at each edge. Anri could have easily ripped the vent from off, but Ivan was already up there so he might as well do it the old-fashioned way. Furthermore, if the troops detected any signs of strain on the vents, they would know someone was inside and ruin his plan -not that they'd live long enough to see... or tell... But Ivan was a cautious man and overlooked every possible circumstance that his mortal mind could come up with. He was almost an android in a sense.
"I will only hold you back out in the open. If I'm in their ventilation system, I can infiltrate undetected and you won't have to worry about protecting me. We can communicate through the transmissions in our helmet. I can see your location on the map, so I can give you directions if needed." The footsteps were getting closer. Ivan pushed the cover off and climbed into the vent, promptly after, he covered the entrance with the lid as to make it seem as it was before. His voice buzzed through the ventilation system as if there were another voice repeating his words with a delay of one second.
"The room is composed of two parallel hallways and three connecting passages. All you have to do is reach the other hallway at the end of the passage and follow it to the bottom, the stairs will be at the end; I'll meet you there," the scientist said. Although Anri had proven more than capable of keeping Ivan's body in one piece, but this plan was fool-proof and allowed the Vennor much more freedom in his movements. He would be able to storm the halls without any worries while Ivan provided tech-support from the vents in the roof. Without another word, given that Anri hadn't stopped him, the scientist would set in motion and moved through the vents carefully so he wouldn't make too much noise. The new wave of troops would be arriving at the next corner soon enough and Anri needed to make sure they didn't catch him talking to the vents. They would be unconscious a second later anyway, but nobody knows whether there's a third party witnessing what the soldiers saw. If there was another Ivan working for the casino, then they had best be cautious as to make sure their mission did not collapse.
The scientist brushed his forehead from the sweat dripping down his face. His breathing ragged as he crawled through the vents. It was really hot and humid inside, there was barely any air to breath in, and the narrow passages were starting to make him a little claustrophobic.

Ivan wasn't the only one that was surprised with just how easily it was to lift him into the air, sure Ivan wasn't a ton of bricks but it was as though he had just picked up a piece of dust with his pinkie, even as he lifted the scientist into the air he found it all to be very easy on his behalf. It was when Anri was picking him up that he remember that unlike his home world this space station did not have the same level of gravity on it, every movement after the minute he arrived was much easier than it would have been back on Riva. It was a nice change of pace of not having the constant force pulling down on him but if he had never left his home world he might not have ever known just what it would have left like to live without such a gravity pushing down on him. Anri himself worried if that the lower gravity here was going to make him weaker over time but ever since his first day on alpha he felt stronger than he had ever been in his whole life; it might have been because he almost died trying to get here or the fact that the gravity was so low it made everything he did feel like a blur of movement.
Pulling a small tool from his belt Ivan began to work on the hatch too the metal vents above them, through Anri could have easily torn the shut latch with his hand it seemed that Ivan had already taken the task upon himself. Before he had a chance to offer up the suggestion Ivan began to talk, answering Anri's question from before of just what he was doing up here in the first place. The explanation he gave made sense in the grand scheme of things, Ivan was right about one thing it did make his job all the more difficult when not only he had to get down to the basement floor with bullets flying in every which direction towards the two of them, this way Ivan would be protected... more of less from the spray of bullets, though there was always a chance a stray bullet could go flying in his direction he was much safer out of sight than out in the open like before. With the added protection and stealth that the vents provided it would give Ivan the needed time in order to best use his abilities; hacking was not something Anri had much skill in as of now but after seeing just what Ivan could do his curiosity had been peaked, hiding away in the vents the man would have more time and a...calmer environment to work in, though it wasn't ideal.
"Seems like a good idea too me, gives me more space too work with... though not so much for you, huh?" Anri laughed as Ivan shut the hatch way behind his entering, leaving Anri alone in the hallway but not for long. During their short conversation Anri had taken notice of the rhythm of feet slamming into the floor, it didn't take a genius to know just who it was that was advancing on his position.
Now inclosed inside the vents the communication between the two was soely based on that of the radios that had built inside their helmets, as of yet there hadn't been much of need for them but it seemed as though they had little choice now. Anri dreaded having to use the devices, even with how much cash he was sure that Nesu dished out on them no piece of technology was free from the hands of those that knew how to hack into them. If the right person was at the helm in this building then they could be listening to every conversation that transpired between the two of them, not to mention he was sure that Nesu as well was listening in too see how things were going or just looking for more blackmail. It didn't seem as though they had much of a choice for the time being, either one of them had any other means of communication and even if they did, if it was radio based it was free to listen in on.
Explaining the lay out of the area Anri still had a good idea of how it was laid out from the glances he had taken during their short flight here but it was always nice to get a refresher, there could have been something that he missed. The plan was simple without any fancy tricks or timing which made it all the easier on the two of them and all the harder of something to go wrong; take out the guards and make it too the stairs, easy enough. As it was Ivan was going to keep to the vents and out of the way of bullets, as long as he wasn't too loud then he should have easily stayed off the radar.
"Best of luck, though I don't think you'll need it." Anri noted as he heard the metallic sounds of the vents warping with every movement away Ivan made, it was noisy but over the soon to come gun fire it would have been like a needle dropping at a party.
With the impeding sound of the troops heading his way Anri took up to casually walking over to a nearby wall and started to inspect it as if armed men weren't heading towards his position. With the sounds now coming from around the nearby corner Anri placed his fingers onto the the wall paper and with a slight bit of added force all the way into the wooden walls, even chalked full of holes as it was there was still more than enough left of it to provide at least some decent weapon. Lifting it up with his arms and then letting it drop a few feet Anri tested the weight on it deciding just what was the best way for him to throw it. Off from the side of the hall way he could hear the cocking of guns as the first round entered the barrel, it was obviously a tacit used to instill fear in a person though who would enter a fight with a known killer with a uncocked gun, most likley the sound was supposed to scare Anri but he looked over his arm at the ten armed troops and let out a bellowing chuckle.
"Freeze!" One of the shouted as the rest finally set their sites on the alien.
"Zero degrees centigrade." Anri responded calmly as he turned his eyes back to the wall and with a quick tug the rest of the surface came of in his hands.
"What the hell are you talking about?" The same creature yelled out at him, even going so far as to drop his gun slightly with confusion.
"Oh sorry." Anri laughed as he dropped his head slightly with laughter.
"I thought you were asking a question. My bad, please take my gift as an apology." Even before Anri finished his sentence the hunk of wall was already soaring through the air towards the men, unlike before the with the steel door the power in the toss was much lower. Anri had agreed with Ivan that he would not kill these men... at least if he had other options. As it was the wall wouldn't kill them but the ones that were in front were going to take a beating and no doubt would end up knocking the rest of the troops in the back too fall over.
_-_-_ Off in another part of the casino_-_-_
"Contain protocol failing, troop strength reduced overall by twenty percent... Transmitting signal found...tracing signal... live feed found....'If I'm in their ventilation system, I can infiltrate undetected and you won't have to worry about protecting me....'." The voice of Ivan rang out through the dimly lit room as all that could been seen in the dull flickering lights from the numerous amount of screens were tall severs that raised up to the ceiling, their small green lights giving the room a tint of green.
"Ventilation... options...enabling gas... canister in place... releasing toxin." The voice rang out as the vents on the floor that Ivan and Anri were on started to dispense a greenish toxic gas, its effects were burning skin and eyes, expose over a long period will ultimately result in death.

The scientist took his time crawling in the vents. Since Anri didn't need to worry about him, he seemed to have been enjoying himself with the troops, giving Ivan a head start towards the finish line. The ventilation system warped with every step he made, it was a loud continuous noise which would become more evident as he strayed from the Vennor, the gunfire, and the giant wall that had been tossed at the troops. Ivan needed to be as inconspicuous as possible; if someone found out he was in the vents, they only needed but to point and shoot. Anri would not be able to rescue him this time. The scientist's breath reverberated through the vents, it was so quiet, it was the only thing he could hear. It was also quite dark, for which he used a flashlight that had been installed into his helmet to light the way. Nesu was a smart man if he was able to predict they would need a flashlight throughout their mission. It appeared he had thought out every action plan the duo could possibly take and took it into account for their armor. However, now that Ivan thought about it more clearly and without the danger of getting a bullet through his windpipe, he wondered whether it would have been easier to just disguise themselves as one of them.
Suddenly, Ivan stopped moving so he could listen to his surroundings. There was a distinct hissing sound lurking in the air. The scientist had stopped at an intersection spreading out into three possible destinations. They had a map for the top floor, but they didn't have a map for the vents. Ivan just assumed the vents were most likely mapped out to be similar to the room itself. He gazed at each end, looking for the source of the hissing sound as it grew nearer and nearer. Glancing at the end of his helmet's lens, there was a portion of the glass which was actually a mirror, allowing him to look behind as he could not turn in such a small amount of room. Nothing. The scientist grew anxious, turning to either direction, frantically looking for the source. That is, until it finally emerged in the distance. Ahead, there was a small cloud of green smoke poking out of the corner. Ivan's eye's widened with horror as he knew exactly what it was. Without wasting any time, he turned to his right, moving a lot faster without worrying whether anyone heard him or not.
"Anri!" he voiced through the speakers in their helmets. The Vennor would notice the urgency in Ivan's voice, as well as the hastened sound of warped metal as he dragged the laptop in one hand, pressed on the speaker button with the other, and dragged his body away from the gas with his knees and a single elbow. "They know I'm in here! Toxic gas has been released through the ventilation system!" he said, huffing and puffing for air. Sweat rolled down his face as he spoke and continued to crawl through the vents. The fact that someone released those toxins meant they knew Ivan was inside the ventilation system, which also meant that someone -somewhere- was listening to their conversations. They weren't speaking through their communication devices, which meant their helmet was not breached. It meant there were hidden cameras along the casino. Ivan felt stupid for not taking them into account; those were the first things they should have taken down. The rush of fire and fear for his own life, the adrenaline that coursed through veins in that moment of urgency wiped out all reasoning from his head, making him incapable of thinking out coherently which steps were left to take for a proper infiltration.
The scientist gasped, as the very corner he was headed towards was soon invaded by the toxic gas. He thought about returning from the other side, but it had already made its way around him. The scientist was cornered by the toxins, left only a single place to go, and that place was to the right. He scurried. "I wouldn't suppose you can breathe fire through your lungs, right?" the scientist joked. The Vennor had already demonstrated inhumane feats, he wouldn't be surprised if he could also do that. Hypothetically, after studying the Vennor's body in the control room back at his peaceful and non-violent lab, breathing fire wasn't completely impossible. Then again, he was thinking hypothetically, and half the time, hypothetical conclusions were an impossibility.
Damn! he thought, reaching a dead end. The toxins were already approaching him. His way out was below, through the hatch, the same way he got in in the first place. However, his screwdriver would not work backwards, which meant he had to use unconventional methods to removed the screws. Ivan went over his equipment: a laptop, he could probably slam it against the vent and eventually break through; a sniper rifle, too large to use in the amount of space he had available; grenades, too dangerous for the amount of space he had available; a pistol, would have to do -except, he hadn't learned how to work one! The gas finally caught up to him. The scientist took a long and deep breath before the air was contaminated by the toxins. He fell to the side, whimpering in silence, unwilling to let go of what kept him alive. His skin burned to the touch, his eyes closed shut although his eyelids threatened to shoot open. He knew that if he allowed himself to breath the toxin, his lungs would burn just as much as his skin and his life would be in a dire situation.
The scientist blindly reached for what felt like the handle of his pistol. It was hard to make out its figure with his thick gloves, but he eventually mapped out its appearance in his head. Letting go of the laptop, he reached for the barrel of the gun and slides it back until he heard an audible Click! He had never done any of this before, but he had seen it many times in movies. You know there's something wrong with society when the media teaches everyday people how to theoretically load a gun and infiltrate casinos. Next, Ivan brings himself to his knees and feels for the hatch below him. He locates each corner with his finger-tips and rests the muzzle of his pistol directly over his finger. Finally, he pulls the trigger. Bam! The pistol shot up, crashing against his helmet. It was unbelievable how powerful the device was, this was one thing shows never warned you about. Ivan was lucky to wear a helmet or he might have broken his nose. The glass on his helmet was also quite resistant as it had not cracked.
Ivan presses his fingers on the part he shot, making sure the screw was blown off and then follows the side of the hatch towards the other end. He shoots off the screw. The scientist was growing purple with lack of oxygen, his skin burning by the second, slowly but surely. If he remained exposed for a minute longer, than the effects would become permanent, another minute and it would risk his very life. Ivan didn't have time to locate the other two screws and was becoming quite restless; instead, he slams the bottom of the pistol against the hatch, bending it to the point he was able to crease through it and allow himself to fall on the floor. His eyes finally shot open, blurred, he coughed vigorously and gasps for fresh air to reach his lungs. "Anri," he coughs, "I'm out of the vents..."

Back fully propped up at its heights peak Anri's shadow fell down the hallway casting over the rubble of what was left of the next batch of guards that had been sent at him, really it was foolish of them to keep sending wave after wave toward him, had it not been for his natural strength and armor they might have stood a chance pitted against the alien but there was no likely hood that even a stray bullet of metal would penetrate his body's natural defenses. Built like that of a worn mountain there was little that they could shake his foundation, and even less that could buckle the giant of a creature. Even though there was idiocy towards facing him Anri had to give it to the men, they had courage to even fire upon his form, had it not been for their orders to do so he wondered if they would do it.
Truly the hallway was a mess after the previous and lasted affairs that had taken place, there was hardly a spot on the ceiling, floors or the walls themselves that wasn't covered in at least some type of foreign substance, whether it was blood, miscellaneous debris or bullet marks that riddled the lining of the hallway making their deep impressions for all too be seen. After all that had gone down so far it wouldn't come to a surprise at the total cost of the damage that he alone had created, refurbishing this place would no doubt cost more than he had ever held in his hands but that was the physical cost by itself, now lives... that was a different matter entirely but the real question was just how much on vauled that of a life. As it was Anri had already killed six people by simply walking into the building and try as he might he was sure that many more would follow, though those that had just come after him lay in a sheet of wood and dry wall the traveling speed and weight of the object had not nearly been enough that it would cause death, maybe serious injury but they would live, though it might not have been a good life after wards. Ivan had stated his idea about killing, Anri had no qualms with taking lives, however Ivan distasted the idea enough to display his objections towards it; had the operation been left in the hands of Anri alone there would be little if anyone left standing after he was done, letting people live only meant that they would come back to haunt him later, something which he did need, not today, not with everything on the line. The way Anri figured it though, the less of a burden Ivan had on his mind for being a part of the killings the better he would work without the ideas of his hands coated in just as much blood as Anri's were. Though Ivan had not wrapped his hands around a man's throat and watched till their eyes drained of life he was one of the main reasons that Anri was standing here in a bath of death, killing by association.
Small moans of pain filled the mostly empty hallway from the corner where the pile of snapped wood lay on top of the soldiers, a few of them sounded at least some what conscience of what was going on but by the sounds of it they weren't going to be doing much moving, as far as Anri was concerned they were as little of a threat as a plant to that of a star. Cocking his head back once towards them the alien set on down the path in the direction were Ivan had given him, the simple lay out of the facility made getting there easy but it also made it so that the long hallways were great areas to funnel bullets into, though anyone could be laying in wait for him around the corner. Taking some caution as his feet thudded down the passage way towards another hallway one that hadn't taken a string of bullets as of yet, but the way the soldiers were carrying on with the threat of Anri storming about the scenery would be quick to change.
Coming to a halt in the middle section between the two corridors the radio that was placed inside his helmet came alive as Ivan's voice rang out from it, from the tone alone he could tell that something had gone awry, though wasn't that always the case in these types of situations. The alien began to wonder if letting the small man go on his own path was a good idea, after all sticking at his side was only putting him into the direct line of fire, the vents had seemed like a good idea being that most were unguarded and unmonitored by most, a great security flaw but something that many over looked. Before Anri could get the chance to question just what it was that had gone wrong Ivan spoke up once more alerting him that the plan had not gone as it was supposed too, seeming that they knew he had been inside the vents since he first entered, not only that but they were also flooding them with a great deal of gas. Thankfully too both Ivan's warning and Vennor anatomy such gases would have no effect on his body as long as he took up to breathing through his gills instead of his own lungs.
Having lost track with the distraction of more added men and the sheets of metal that separated Anri's vision from that of Ivan's position he was lost to finding out just were the small man was, at this point he was blind of knowing just were he was other than that of the vents. Anri wanted to know his exact position but trapped inside the ventilation system the man's sense of direction and position could have been compromised from the norm.
"Shit, things just getting better and better." Anri grunted to himself as his eyes scanned across any nearby vent in hopes of hearing something that might give him a clue to where the man was but it was mostly for a small glimmer of hope. With just how large the building was there could have been miles of vents too cover though at which the speed that Ivan could travel on his belly he would not have made it far, keeping that fact in mind Anri back tracked his way back to the original hallway were Ivan had first entered the vent system, if anything he could try and track where the tube might go.
Before Anri could round the corner two gun shots rang off into the air as they tore through something that was of a metal substance, Anri could only think they belonged to Ivan since everyone else on this floor was either dead or pinned under a mass of torn wall. Picking his pace up Anri tuned the corner just as Ivan plummeted from the gaping metal hatch, the very same he had gone through before and collapsed hard onto the floor in a heap. The closed metal hull would have made it so that a person such as Ivan would have been trapped inside with deadly gases having to hold his breath to save his life, which was proof from the slow fade of purple from his face. Through gasps of air Ivan called out too Anri who at this point had swarmed over too the man's side and taken a knee.
"Ya I can see that much." Anri mumbled as he looked over Ivan's body for any signs of trauma, though other than the rapid raising and falling of his chest he seemed rather unscathed.
"Are we safe here or do we need to move? Usually with gases such as these they will often flood the floor to rid the building of anyone." Anri stated as his eyes glanced back up from the vent which Ivan had fallen from.
"I'll be fine from any of the ill or deadly effects but I think we both know how well you will fair up against them." He commented not to insult the man but to show them were they stood.

The scientist looks up at a dark image above him. His eyes still blurred, which made him fear whom was standing there until the man spoke. Anri, he thought with relief. His eyes cleared up a moment later and he could see the Vennor inspecting him. The scientist had a few boils sprouting on his skin here and there, and it hurt to move, but it wasn't anything he couldn't hold until he was back in the laboratory and out of danger. He forced himself to his feet as tears welled up in his misty eyes and threatened to fall. "That was close..." he murmurred, not paying much attention to what the Vennor had to say. He was busy worrying about his own well-being for the moment, but they would need a new plan very soon.
Ivan glanced at the Vennor. He could have commented about his apparent ability to survive under the effects of poison gas, but he felt it was time he got over the fact that Anri was simply an abnormal mutation of life that has been sent to his door just to defy all of life's laws. What's next, can he breath in space? He joked. Ivan peered across the hall. There was blood and gore everywhere, but he could hear the moans of the soldiers Anri promised to spare. "So they're just gonna sacrifice their own troops?" he thought, clenching his fist. They could probably run the rest of the halls unhindered by soldiers, and if Anri carried him, they would get to the stairs in less than a second with his speed. Then again, with the Vennor's strength, they could probably use the poison gas to their advantage.
"We could take the stairs," he said, looking at Anri for consent. Then he looked at the vents, "or we could make a hole through the ground and feed poison gas to the bottom floor." The scientist knew it meant risking more lives, but he assumed the troops would retreat after detecting the cloud of green smoke. Furthermore, all civilian's should have been evacuated by now ever since the assault team took action. "The gas would eventually reach the bottom floor anyway," he said, "when the troops start falling back, you can jump down and find the vault. Force your way inside and make a hole on the roof so I can jump down. From there, we'll take the goods and escape through the same hole and make our way back outside. How does that sound?"
If the Vennor didn't like that plan, they could just go with the original plan and head for the stairs, however they would be back where they started and there was probably a barricade of troops waiting for them at the bottom floor. Ivan knew the plan depended heavily on the Vennor; once the poison gas was unleashed, he would have to deal with any stray soldiers and find the vault before Ivan dies from intoxication. Once he had broken through the door, which Ivan didn't think would be hard at all considering his strength, he just needed to punch a hole in the roof so Ivan could jump down and activate the black box given to them by Nesu. After that, their escape route had already been made. All they had to do was jump through the hole Anri made and run for the stair -or just make a second hole and jump straight to the rooftop.
"Also, we have to look out for security cameras. They have been spying on us all this time..." he said, surveying the area to try and spot a camera under all the blood and loose fingers.

Huddeled over the heavily breathing body of that of Ivan it appeared as though while he was still in a condition that he would not die he did not come away from the incident completely unscathed as Anri had first thought. Small redden pulsating boils lined the exposed portions of skin that had been in contact with the strange gaseous substance that had been released into the ventilation system, whatever the gas was it was not something that should have been over looked. While on the surface it caused great external pain having such ailments on a person's insides would cause even more damage, even too the point where death was a possibility. Had Ivan had the misfortune of breathing during the encounter then his air way would have most likely become inflamed, riddled with boils and burns till his body was no longer able to fight against its overwhelming attackers and give in, causing his air way to collapse and soon afterward, nothing. It was a site of something Anri had seen before but it was only in a safety of a medical facility in which they were testing gases in which could cause quick death over a large area, the idea of the weapon was one that could kill any target without destroying the area around it, i.e buildings, and other structures. The expirements didn't always turn out in the best of ways even with a trained medical staff nearby at an alert position but science can not move forward without sacrifices.
Looking down over Ivan seeing the sight brought the memory back into his head of that day at the labs, though without the needed medical skills to treat the man's wounds he was going to stick with him till a time would come when he would find himself in a safe area. Anri did have... "some skills" in the medical field but they were nothing for him to even bring up or gloat about. He was a medic, plain and simple, many of his people were, going through the basic trainings proved him with extra benefits when he was to leave the military and also gave him a chance of becoming a doctor, or even a researcher. Other than slapping a bag of ice on it, there was little he could do, and as it stood he need no ice, just fire, which ideally would just much things much worse for Ivan. As one of his intrusctor told Anri as he was in training, "A medic's job is not to cure the sick, just to keep them moving till someone else could.", strong words, but something that he never forgot. At this point all Anri would be able to do is get the tiny alien back on his feet and keep him marching, it was his hopes that once the man started to walk the pain would die down some, keeping his blood flowing would allow his blood cells to travel quicker to the damaged areas of his skin.
After seeing such the condition that Ivan was in Anri being to wonder just how he would fair against the gas that was flooding its way through the vents, while yes, it was true that his gills provided a great defense towards most types of hazardous gases, if the gas had the same effect on him that it did on Ivan trying to breath it in would end his story here. It was one thing to have the gas touch ones skin but quite another to breath it in, he would be lucky if he lasted a few minutes with the chemical air inside of his body.
Having been lost in his thoughts Anri had almost missed what it was that Ivan was saying but his alert senses brought him back a few seconds in to his speech, and while Anri thought that the idea was not something that he thought the non-violent man would say he nodded his head at it.
"No...while the gas is a good idea... once the gas was leaked into the lower floors we would be faced against it once more, as it stands we have no idea just how long that door will take too open. If it takes longer than expected we will find ourselves caught up in it... and... while I have faith in my own abilities I think that I would not fair as well as first expected against this substance. I use my gills to breath in conditions that could prove hazardous to most forms of life, but this gas... is something in which I do not think I would fair well in, if by chance my body fails to live up to my- your standards of what it is you think I can do then that will have been it for me." Anri grunted slightly ashamed that even with his strength he was facing problems much earlier than he would have liked.
"As it is... if they are flooding this area with gas, with their own men trapped up here I do not believe that the rest of the men are aware of it, otherwise they would not have come up here in the first place, which only means we will most likely find ourselves facing more if we continue towards the stairs, and trapped between coin sized chucks of lead and deadly gases is not a place I would much like to be... however... if they lay out of building tells me anything we can just go right through the floor, after all a few levels below us is the main floor, which would put us exactly were we want to be at. Still... its a long fall, not to mention once we do all eyes will be on us." Anri explained as he formed the idea in his mind.
"It is up too you thought, as it is, I can take a punch, take a bullet and rip open people but your the injured one and this cannot be done without your skills. Which ever way you think is best I'll follow, but the faster the better, that gas won't hold up in these vents forever."

Unfortunately, because Anri has left and I assume he will not be back, I would like to have this thread concluded and graded.
I request Zeni. If Anri returns, we will contiue this.
