Leke Hattori exited the war council tent with a heavy heart and mind. Too many thoughts ran through his head as the recovered prince made his way through what remained of the castle. My own father wants us to destroy the entire planet of the church... I know they're bad guys, but not all of them are, I'm sure of it. There's no way everybody on the planet, of the probable millions of civilians there are, there's no way they're all evil. I just have to find the ones that aren't when the time comes. Remembering the word evil and his experience with Sakaki not too long ago on Alpha Prime, Leke looks down again to find the Yasakani amulet burning with a bright green light, though it faded in time as he trekked further and further away from the tent.
It was clear to the young teenager who set it off. His father's intent to destroy an entire race for their attack. Leke couldn't possibly agree with total annihilation of the Church's followers. Not if even one innocent soul was among them. He didn't know if he would be able to fight his own family, his own people, to save whatever innocents he could, but he would see if it happened. That's not something he could prepare himself for.
The Hattori’s thoughts then turned to what had happened to his planet; his home. His eyes fell upon the broken stones and sticks his boots crushed beneath them as he walked further. Bricks, shards of glass, torn flags, and broken statues were strewn across the castle courtyard. He hadn’t been allowed a moment of recollection before this, to think about what had occurred today. The United Church of One had taken away what was most precious to him: his home and his people. Looking further out, Leke could see the destruction much beyond the castle. It was clear that the royal family was not even close to the biggest target. Homes were smoldering ashes, entire neighborhoods were levelled, and many major infrastructures were destroyed as well. They wanted to hit every major part of New Vegeta, to cripple the Saiyans not only in production, not only in life, but in spirit.
They had survived this attack, through the combined effort of the royal children and a select few others. They were the elite on this planet, and they had risen up to the challenge. But there was not a doubt in Leke’s mind that this had been a full-scale invasion. Had the Saiyans finally met their match in the Church? It was tough to think of, but it did cross his mind. The royal children, by now many times stronger than Leke was sure their father had been at their age, had barely succeeded in thwarting the threat the Church had posed. The two most powerful ones had not even been leaders; one was a bishop, and the other an assassin. By all reports from Ninjin and the others, there were many more that towered over them in power.
Leke clenched both of his fists, tears welling up and streaming down his face. It was unlike the prince to do this, even though he was the softest of the three (or four, if Nasu was correct in his claim of being another illegitimate son of the King) royal children. It took a monstrous feeling to make a Saiyan cry. That damned church will pay for this, the youngest Hattori thought to himself. For a moment, he felt what Tsuyo felt when he saw what had happened to his domain; what his siblings felt when they learned that Nasu was a traitor. Not that he wanted the entire planet destroyed, but definitely the church itself would pay. Anybody who had any voluntary part in this would suffer.
The prince glanced down when he felt heat emanating from the necklace. The Yasakani was glowing brighter again, just as Leke was about to burst in anger and frustration. It took him a few moments to realize just why it was happening. Slowly, Leke unclenched his fists and took a few deep breaths. What am I thinking? I have to stay calm… Pull yourself together. You need to train, to get stronger, so that this never happens again. You have a mission. The glow faded away slowly as Leke picked his way through the rubble, now headed in a specific direction. The prince needed to get back to his room and see what was left.
It didn’t take long at all, even at the prince’s slow pace – there were little walls, little passageways to snake around in. It was essentially a straight path, another thing that depressed the young prince. Leke cursed under his breath, another uncommon thing for the teenager. Amazingly, the actual rooms of the siblings were left relatively unscathed as compared to the rest of the castle. Sure, the walls had crumbled and things were scattered around, but it was nothing compared to the utter destruction of the majority of the castle. Aer Nin had made sure of that. There was no doorway, so Leke simply stepped through the rubble to witness what had become of his personal possessions.
Besides the broken bricks lying about the room, it was as if nothing had ever happened. All of his pictures hung near level, and the case containing Leke’s spare armor had only a few scratches on it. However, one thing was very noticeably different – a box lay on top of the prince’s bed. Curious, Leke grabbed the box and attempted to move it off of his bed, only to find it took a lot of strength to move. A ridiculous amount, nothing anywhere near what it should have taken. It slid a few inches from Leke actually putting forth some effort. It took damn near half of his strength to pull the box closer, leaving the prince much more bewildered and inquisitive. With a fingernail, the teenager sliced open the top of the box and peered inside.
What the box contained would have lit up Leke’s face given almost any other circumstance. The prince could not believe it. Inside were a set of gauntlets and anklets, and from how difficult it was to even move the box a few feet, they were very heavily weighted. The youngster remembered a time when he specifically requested a set of training weights from his father, but he was told he was far too weak to wield them. Had his father granted his request after all of these years after the tournament?
A small smile appeared on the fourteen-year-old’s face as he, with quite a bit of effort, lifted each weighted garment out of the box. It took plenty of exertion to even just lift them, let alone put them on, but Leke gladly put them on over his armor and tights. Though, now that he was sitting with them on, he felt heavier than a mountain. It was a struggle to even stand up with his weight now multiplied many times over. Beads of sweat dripped down his face. If it was this hard to even stand, then…
Leke found he could barely slide his feet across the floor several inches. This is ridiculous. I can see why father didn’t let me have these earlier. Even though I’m much stronger now, I feel so much weaker. I can barely move. But this is another challenge I need to overcome. These will help me so much in my training… If I can work with these, I’ll get that much stronger! Now determined to best these new weights, the Hattori ascended to his full power. He needed every bit of his strength to even muster up the power to lift one foot off of the ground and then plant it one stride forward. And then the other foot followed it. One by one, step by step, Leke brought himself out of his room.
By this point, sweat glazed his skin in exhaustion, though he had hardly moved more than a dozen feet. I have to keep going, Leke thought to himself, and pushed himself further. It became slowly easier and easier to take each step, and over the course of the next few minutes, Leke found himself able to keep a walking pace if he exerted himself. It was easier as he thought of how much stronger he would get from these weights. If only he could master them, then he really would have a chance of catching up to his siblings. The youngest prince had been depressed before about how much stronger his sister and brother had become, even Zeke and Nasu, while he had remained in the dust. Leke had to train every opportunity he could get now to have a chance, but at least he had a chance. If not get as strong as they are now, then to at least become strong enough to protect his own people. The Church was not going to make the Saiyan race look like a fool again, not if Leke had any say in it. Sakaki had given him a mission, and Leke intended to keep with it. To protect his loved ones, and all innocents, from evil. The Church definitely was the latter.
He kept pushing himself, and pushing himself, and soon enough, Leke found it easy enough to walk. And then to jog, and run. In what could be described as possibly an hour, maybe several, Leke could run, kick, and punch, albeit at a much slower speed and with weaker attacks. He figured he had about half of his strength with the weights on, which would definitely hurt in a fight, but it would help his training so much more. Perfect, Leke thought to himself. I’ll need any help I can get. He swung a few attacks forward in the air to again test his strength and speed. It took a definite strain, but at least he was able to do it functionally. In his fully powered up state, he could do more than move; it just took plenty of effort. Satisfied for now, Leke grinned and walked forward towards his room. These weights are killers. I need a break. I’ll take a rest then-
Crash! The wall nearest Leke violently smashed open and a rail of energy rocketed out and slammed into the prince’s side, smashing him into a pile of rubble and causing searing pain to flood his body. It was not a particularly powerful blast, not one that would down the youngest Hattori sibling in one shot, but the surprise helped the damage accumulate.
In a daze, Leke turned his body around just fast enough to see a cloaked figure approach from the hole in the wall that the energy beam had come from, metal hand lifted with a ball of ki charged up in its palm, fire a blast of ki spiraling at the prince. This time, he was a little more prepared, so he could at least cross both of his weighed-down hands and absorb the attack. Leke grunted and slowly stood, partly because of the damage and shock from the first attacks, and partially because of how heavy his body was now. What the H.F.I.L…? I thought we got rid of the attackers… Guess not. Nothing like a little battle experience to test these things out in a fight, I suppose.
The Saiyan prince faced his assailant, now seeing it for what it really was – a cyborg of sorts. Bits and pieces of the humanoid was covered in metal and wires. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth in anger. Another Church android. He couldn’t even sense its power, he soon found out. The teenager roared aloud and spiked his power level to its maximum, though with the weights he lacked his full strength, and then launched himself forward at the robot.
Even with the weights, the android was too slow for Leke. It ducked out of the way of the first attack, but soon found a fist through its metallic skull. The prince, huffing, withdrew his hand and inspected it as the android fell to the floor, lifeless. The insides are all metal… Weird, was the first thing to come to the Hattori’s mind.
Although he could not sense their power levels, he could sense their ki attacks. Feeling several blasts of energy coming his way, though nothing too powerful, Leke hit the floor and spun around to avoid the blasts and to face his attackers. Snarling, the prince launched himself forward again, his red-and-gold aura flaring about his heavily-weighed down but still very powerful body. A half dozen more androids stood atop the rubble where he once laid, and now Leke was going to destroy them all. These bastards had destroyed his home and his planet, and they were going to pay in… well, whatever juice androids ran on. Battery acid, or something to that effect.
The prince charged two balls of ki in his hands as he quickly closed in on the androids, each now charging at the prince, able to sense him in his “weakened” state. Leke figured that they thought this would be the best chance to get him, while he was tired and weaker with the weights on. What they didn’t know was that he could still wipe the floor with their scrap metal. And that was what the Hattori proceded to do: The six androids threw their punches and kicks, but they succumbed to the power of Leke’s angry retaliation without much else reaction. The prince took his fair share of licks, but for each hit he took, he gave a resounding crack of a fist or boot in return, thrice as strong.
In the end, there was a heap of metal parts and human-like skin laying scattered about with Leke Hattori standing, seething angry and huffing from all of that exertion. He scanned about, looking for more; he definitely got more. From the stacks of rubble, behind walls, and seemingly from nowhere, dozens, if not hundreds of androids littered what was once a hallway, and now a make-shift arena it seemed. His heart sank. As weak as those few were… How in the H.F.I.L. am I supposed to fight all of those off? And where is Akassa or some guards or somebody? Nobody is around to help me out? These damn weights aren’t helping me any.
As soon as he tried to pull one armlet off, they swarmed him like bees. It added up real quick. Leke found himself unable to fight them off as fast as a new one joined the fray. A punch to the head, side, gut; a kick to the leg, arm; no matter how fast he took one down, three more filled its place. He was getting pummeled by these robots. He had to do something, and quick, or this ambush was going to end up succeeding. A Hattori would not go down to such weak opposition, even in high volume.
Leke slugged another android in the face and then took another and swung it around himself, knocking away the ones in his immediate area, and then tossed it like a ragdoll to the side. Thinking quick on his feet, and remembering what he had learned from his time on Alpha Prime with Sakaki, Leke pulled from within himself ki and expanded it around himself. In his time of need, he did not have to figure out how it worked – it just did. A dome of energy surrounded the prince with his outstretched arms, and kept at bay his attackers.
It gave him some time to think, at least. Leke knew the barrier would not hold long, especially now that they began to attack it, but he still got to catch his breath. What can I do… Think, Leke, think... A lightbulb went off in his head. Sakaki didn’t show him how to do this, but the prince didn’t think it would be too difficult to pull off. Leke gathered his ki, even while holding up his slowly-declining barrier, and charged it. In a few seconds or so, when he believed his shield wouldn’t hold much longer, the prince shouted out and pushed his ki outward through the shield, sending an explosion of energy in 360 degrees around him, scattering the dozens of androids still left to combat him, destroying many of them with its power.
Leke, now exhausted, looked about him again, trying to recover from the toll the training, the fights, the energy use had taken out of him. The androids that weren’t destroyed, which numbered to be about twenty by a quick head count, were getting up methodically and then circling about him. The Hattori snarled back at the robotics, who still seemed hell-bent on either capturing or killing the youngest of the royal blood. The Church… They were making Leke re-think giving any of their actual followers a chance to repent on their actions.
As they charged, Leke knew he did not have nearly enough energy or stamina to fight them all off again. He fell to one knee, now really feeling what he had put his body through, and looked ahead through heavy eyes. The androids were nearly upon him. If this is the end... Damnit... Leke thought to himself. He looked down at his chest, not even remembering to check it today. It was glowing, and getting brighter by the second.
The prince gritted his teeth. No way that light was going to keep getting brighter. Evil, the Church, would not win; not today, and definitely not now. I made a promise... To Sakaki, to myself... To the entire galaxy. I won’t let them down. A newfound determination brought Leke’s spirits up, and he stood again and spun around in a circle. Whatever it took, he’d take care of these damned robots. Nobody would come to his help. He’d have to do it himself; no matter the cost.
Pulling from within himself in the deepest of reserves of energy, Leke charged his power, his aura flaring about him like a hellstorm of red and gold fire, and released it outward in one blast. Lacking the ki to finish the job but still drawing upon whatever he could get, he unknowingly used his actual life force in his finale, releasing a massive explosion of energy that obliterated everything about him and sending dust and debris everywhere.
The next thing Leke could remember was laying on his side, and a vision of a decapitated android head. A grin appeared on his face. He had won this day, and kept his word. Now, for that rest...

Learning two custom techs (there will be another thread where Leke learns the second one better, for now, it's a last resort kinda thing):
Energy Barrier Detonation
While a shield energy barrier is up, the user may release the energy outward as a surprising offensive technique. This allows the user to better escape after putting up a barrier to protect one's self or others. The user cannot use this technique or another energy barrier in the post after using this.
Spirit Release
This technique allows the user to use his own life force to release a massive burst of energy in either a directional blast or an explosion around the user. It is powerful but very draining on the user’s very being.
And I'll take PL, Heavy Weights in effect
