Finally the dojo was looking half way presentable. For starters there was a fresh coat of pain over every wall. No longer would the dojo be a relic to an old, disrespected, martial arts studio. The paint was black with white writing. The crane symbol had been written at least once on each length of the walls, that way from any angle it could be seen exactly what dojo it was. The writing had also been written in the native language of the Crane, which was a deviant of Korean. Inspirational words of strength were sprawled across the top of the building near the roof in large enough letters that it could be easily made out from across the street. The outer wall had also been redecorated. Fresh mortar and brick placed where the old had begun to wither, then from around that was placed a wooden frame that held insulate and dry wall so that the brick was no longer showing, and instead different colors of wallpaper could be seen. At the front towards where the gate had been there was now an open space. Kit had decided not to bother adding a new gate seeing as the old one had given them so much trouble. Instead this open courtyard would be open to all. Most of the street dwellers had seen what Kit had done to the alien who had come and were not very eager to steal or vandalize his property. Kit wasn't sure if it was out of fear or respect but he appreciated it none the less
"Joh-eun achim"
He called out to an older lady riding her bike through the street. She waved graciously with a smile and continued on her route. Mrs. Gong had been in the neighborhood for several decades, and had thought it nice that the dojo was reopening. She had stopped to talk with Kit on multiple occasions, but she was not very linguistic. Her english was tattered and confusing. Luckily the compound had taught kit two languages, so he understood Korean rather well. It was how he ended up reading through the Crane journals, and decorating the outside of the dojo. Add to that the time he had to study the language now that he was his own boss, and there was no reason he had to make the old lady struggle. They occasionally spoke, but the most interaction he got out of her was her morning ride, and his morning wave. He was still learning to speak fluently with her, but had learned enough to say "Good Morning".
Kit put the final touches on the outer wall and took a deep breath. It really looked nice. A re-shingled roof, cut grass, and brand new stain glass windows. He had really gone all out in making this the nicest dojo he could. The inside would still require some work, as the only room he had even attempted to renovate had been the library, but what others would see was a revitalized brilliance. A clan ready to make its mark on the world yet again, and that was what Kit wanted to do. He had been feeling unstoppable ever since his activation of the focus state, which was getting easier and easier to actually accomplish. He would practice at least once a day spiking his power level so that he could ease into it more seamlessly. He wanted to make sure that whenever this alien returned, he would be ready to face him. The alien was said to be at least triple Nyu's strength which put him at an ungodly ninety thousand PL, but Kit shrugged it off as being hearsay. He was the best of the best and could barely reach thirty thousand. Undoubtedly the alien had been exaggerating about his masters abilities. No one was that strong.
Kit took two steps down off of the latter and began his walk back to the inside, his feet crunching on the pebble path he had placed between the entrance and the main dojo. His feet sunk through the soles of his sandals as the weights on his legs continued their strenuous effect. Kit had gotten used to them being there, but that didn't mean they were invisible or weightless. Just fixing the house had become a chore of training, which excused Kit from doing any actual training.
Until today that is.

This was a new part of the city for the Vennor, it wasn't run down but had the rustic feeling of being much older than everything he had come across in central city, coming from the busy streets to the dull suburbs almost made it seem like he was a world away from where he had been before. Where before the streets were packed too the brim with people pushing past each other too filling their seemingly mindless chores of the day, all but a few people could been seen walking down the sides walks, even small conversations shared between friends could be heard. Any cars that could be seen had their engines quite as they rested nestled along the sides of the street or in the concrete path ways that lead to the main housing. Quaint and quite this place was, even as close too the city to shared almost no simialries with the bustling giant, whose large building loomed high over the small out skirts.
It place was even a change from the castle in which he spent most of his days at, the long winding corridors where too compact for his wide figure and found the place had grown tasteless and boring over time. It was a grand structure but after having seen so many similar ones in the past it was just a repeat of times before and he could have gone for something new and fresh for his eyes to latch onto for awhile. Once his contract was finished he was going to have to move on anyway and he starting to life Earth as it was, he had never settled down anywhere for long, but he was considering buying a house here. The planet was an interesting place, it had so many people and things too see, always seeming like something was going on, regardless of it was bad or good it was interesting to the Vennor. On top of fall of that he hadn't found much people here that could put up much of a fight here, in a hundred miles around he was probably the strongest being. Jenn had proven a mighty adversary but he had no idea where she might be at right now, she seemed to wander off at random times to go play with that fox of hers or too take care of other things. He had made a note to follow her for curiosity sake but had never gotten around too doing it, as skilled as Anri was the woman had a way about her in which she could slip away without so much as a trace.
Anri had taken his time off to explore the city trying to find new sites and learn more of the culture that the humans had here, it was vexing the things he saw upon here on Earth. Even before aliens had made there mark on the world it had already had a great mixture of other beings living amongst one another; animal folk as many here called them, seemed to have blending in seamlessly with the humans, not even sensing any founded hate between the two. If only their arms had been so open to the arrival of aliens on their world, that hate was still fresh and burned like a star going super nova. Even the few people that saw him kept distance away, either because of his general threatening appearance or the mere fact that he was indeed an alien. Anri had once been though a demon and in all fairness they could have been right, his thick plates and alien appearance did give him the look of being one. Ignorance festers hate though it wasn't as though there wasn't enough here on Earth to being with, luckily most of it seemed to be placed with the Saiyan's who lived not to far away on the planets moon, why they had never left from all the hate was beyond him but he had heard they were prideful in nature.
Taking long strides down the street Anri took in the sites of the quite town, enjoying the calmness that the area seemed to have too it, the birds chirping, the idle conversations and even a elderly woman who past him on a bike. He was taken back a bit as the woman have him a friendly wave as she speed by, not a reaction he had been expecting from any human, less the elderly. The older someone was they seemed to hold a greater hate for anything that happened to them in their lives, regret maybe? Giving what would be a small smile Anri waved back as she coasted down the way he had come from before, eventually losing site of her as her bike whipped around the corner. Cocking his head side ways at the interaction did he turn around to face the building in which she had come from, well more of a over grown garden with a building in the center.
The building its self seemed about as old as the thriving plants around it did, but it was clear that someone had been doing some work on it, even with the distance that was between him and the structure he could make out a few paint cans and tools laying still on the ground. An interesting site to say the least and a great enough of one to gain his attention, it was a nice sight to see that some people still held respect for the past, going so far as to try and rebuild/ restore the glory and youth of a building. Keeping at his normal pace did Anri cross the paved street and make his way over too the gate-less court yard, an odd sight too see where the rusted gate had been, why remove the defense of the building? Shrugging his shoulder he past the opening and entered the court yard where already he had spotted a man who was heading back into the innards of the building. Making haste before the hassle of heading after him did Anri call out to the man.
"You there, is this place yours?" He questioned hoping to find someone who would better be able to tell him just what this place was and why it had gotten in such a state to begin with.

Kit hadn't quite made it to the door when a voice resounded behind him. It was clearly an older male from the deep inflection, and with the effort Kit had put into his new dojo, he knew it was only a matter of time before someone took notice. With a brimming smile he turned around, his right hand scratching the back of his hand, his eyes closed from the grin. As per his usual attire, the man was shirtless, wearing only a pair of training sweats. These fatigues were perfect for working and training. They provided for excellent flexibility, and considering the weights were still strapped to his ankles he needed all the flexibility he could get. His other hand gripped his hip as he preened at the new comer, excited that his building had been noticed at all.
"That it is stranger! The name is Saito Kit...o?"
He would have finished his sentence normally, but after running his fingers through the corn silk blond hair on the back of his head he had reached out to shake the strangers hand. At this point he opened his eyes and saw the armor plating. The alien was just a shy shorter than Kit, but still stood at a commanding six four. The grey skin threw him off as well, it made kit wonder if the creature was well. Every human he had ever met whose skin had taken on a gray texture was either dead or dying. Before he could even think about offering the man tea, he made eye contact, and the sudden realization of what Anri was hit him. Kit didn't know specifics about aliens, what they were, where they came from, or how they happened upon the planet. But his first and only experience with an alien had caused his tutor to die, and forced Kit past his physical breaking point. Ignorance was truly the best word for it because Kit couldn't fully comprehend one alien being so evil, and another not. Not to mention Anri was so much larger than the last alien. Could it be that the Lord of that alien general had arrived already. Was this the Tundra that Nyu had spoken of? Was this creature here to kill him.
His open palm turned into a fist. He was not normally aggressive with strangers. As a matter of fact even criminals found a friendly smile with Kit until they had proven themselves dangerous. Aliens however had proven themselves dangerous. His first immediate thought made him wonder where Ethan was. He had to ensure that Ethan wasn't at the dojo, but for the life of him he couldn't figure out where the boy way. His brother had been in and out of the city, and had provided aid to his brother in the restoration of the dojo, but that day he hadn't yet spoken to Ethan. It was possible the boy was still asleep, but unlikely given that it was just a few hours from lunch. Ethan may have been a teenager, but he wouldn't waste daylight, it just wasn't how he was raised. So long as the boy didn't show up and get himself hurt, Kit wouldn't have to worry too much about him. The underlying thought that Ethan could at any time appear would haunt the back of his mind as he addressed the alien intruder.
"What do you want"
He didn't want to jump to conclusions, but his tone already had. If the alien was who he though he was, Kit was at least prepared to fight back, he wouldn't be caught off guard. If however the creature was someone other than who he thought, Kit would have felt foolish engaging him. Frankly attacking an innocent man was shameful, so before he could consider swinging his fist, he needed to know who, or what, he was dealing with. It wasn't his hatred for something new, as really Kit had learned a plethora of new things in the last month. Only one of those things had killed his friend however, and so he was understandably cautious. His legs spreading slightly, as if ready to move if the situation called for it. How Anri responded would set the tone for the rest of the conversation. If the alien was easy to anger, Kit's tone probably wouldn't settle well with him. If however the alien wasn't good at reading those emotions, or didn't care, the encounter could still be salvaged.

It was by chance that Anri's voice had reached the man before stepping all the way inside the building, it wouldn't have been very difficult to close in the distant however he wasn't going to barge into someones possible home just to ask a question, though he had done it before but that was for the sake of the job at hand. With a quick spin the man show showed his face to Anri would got a clear look of him now for the first time, from the back side all he could really tell from the man was his neck length blond hair and his height, not much details one could get from someones backside. The man wasn't much taller than Anri was, even from the distance that they stood apart he guessed he was only but an inch or two taller than him, such an sight to see someone taller than him and none the less a human, it was a rare sight too see any of the fleshy creatures with any mentionable height. A thin line of facial hair clung too his face, looking like a fresh cut had been deliver earlier in the day, trying to stay crisp and official looking.
With a warm smile and his out stretched hand in a form of a greeting, though Anri had no idea how to respond to such a gesture so he waited at the man's words but they quickly cut off from his mouth as with the opening of his eyes did he finally take in what Anri was. The man must have assumed Anri too be one of his kind, which given the setting around them it made all sense, it was their world and he was just a visitor on it, every alien here was. It didn't take long for the man to recover from the over all shock of seeing such a creature as the Vennor was and quickly the smile that had been spread across his face fled away as it was replaced with a hard grimace. It was amazing just how quickly the man had changed his attitude once he learned once he really was, but he expected nothing less from a human.
The stance the man took was one he was all to familiar with, if the out stretched fist wasn't enough to display the need for a fight then the movement with his body was. A proper leg setting with a balled up fist meant only one thing and that was fighting. Anri normally would have jumped at the idea but his interest was in the building and not for knocking the man around, even as strong as the man was he was still no where near that of what Anri could dish out, though most of his power was hindered with the weights that were strapped to his body.
"Well that's a fancy way you have there of greeting guests. Is it just because I'm an alien or do you greet all people always in such a mixed signal and a fighting stance? Or am I just the lucky one today?" He responded with a tone of annoyance at the mans harsh toned words, as small waves of steam shot out his back at his heightened body temperature.
Though he didn't take kindly too how the man acted he had to give it too him, not many could act in such a mannerism towards him, lacking a sense of courage or any balls to stand up to the armored elite Vennor. The idea of fighting him wasn't too far out of his mind but before that would never happen as of right now, he wanted to complete the first task he had come here to do in the first place, and that was to better understand just what this place was and why it had been left in such a state as it was. Even with all the recent work that had been done on the structure it was far from finished. The unattended garden had bloomed out in a uncontrolled fashion taking its roots and vines into everything nearby and the court yard was littered with trash, not to mention the place could look like it could use an overall washing, seeing layers of dirt that had probably been built up over years.
"As too what I want... I was curious as too what this place was, I get the feeling that it had a golden age a few hundred years back... but now....well." He pointed his arm as he scanned across the area.
He turned his eyes back to meet Kit's awaiting for his response, though if he got any more lip or attitude he was sure that his fist might not be fully accountable for what it might do. He didn't think the man would lay back and take it though, with his strength he was sure Kit would no doubtfully fight back but in that case he would have enjoyed the brief spar between the two of them, a quick break from his walk. It was hard to believe that a person with such power as the man would be stuck in a place like this; human's at least the ones with any strength too talk about, seemed to pride themselves when it came to just how strong they were compared to everyone else. Cashing in on what they could do, he saw them in movies, in competitions trying to best the other fighters for the sweet rewards that lay at the end, not sitting around a town like this cleaning up a worn out building and who knew for what reason. It either branched from boredom, or dedication but the latter of the two seemed more likely in this case as he took notice of the weights that pulled on the man. It took someone who was focused on a task to wear such a device, perseverance, and pure strength belonged too those who wore the weights. With that in mind it really only brought more questions too light than it had answers but wasn't that always how it went?
"So tell me Kit, what is- what was this place? It must have meant something great too you if you've spent so much time trying to restore what it once was."

Could he put his fists down? The alien had explained himself, though not at all introduced himself. At the very least if this was the 'Tundra' he was waiting for the creature didn't appear to want him dead, at least not yet. If anything he had called out Kit's rather rude introduction, which to someone who didn't know the history that Kit shared with other alien species would just seem needlessly hateful. The snide return was expected, accepted, and understood. Anri really was just the lucky one for the day. Not a minute earlier he had greeted Mrs. Gong with a cheerful smile and wave, and now this stranger got the better of his newly awakened dark side. Not that Kit really had a dark side either, it was really more of the morbid realization that the world was not filled with perfectly friendly strangers. Had Anri been a human he certainly would have greeted him just as he had started, open arms and a smile. He still wasn’t sure, especially when what appeared to be steam began flowing from out of the opposite man’s back. He shook it off, determining that he was not educated enough about aliens to know if this was a sign of aggression. Hell he could hardly read between the lines with other humans.
“I’ve only ever met one alien, and he killed one of my friends, you’ll forgive me if I am a little on edge.”
Kit took a few steps towards the left side of the dojo, away from the overgrown garden, and towards a more put together plot. It was currently blooming with cherry blossoms that scented the air, assuming Anri could smell. Could this alien smell? Seriously Kit knew nothing about this guy, and even now as he turned around, leaving his back turned to the creature, he felt the urge to face front and ask him to leave. Suddenly Kit didn’t feel so friendly, but at the same time he now felt guilty for how he had treated the alien. Really Anri hadn’t done anything to warrant that response other than being an alien. It hadn’t even occurred to Kit that he could be a threat based on his above average size and intimidating armor. Kit had removed himself from such emotions as intimidation, especially after his greatest adversary, his own father, had fallen to him. There was no sense in being frightened of someone else. That too was just ignorant.
He rounded the corner, waving his hand behind him for the alien to follow. He hadn’t officially invited him in until then, so he wanted to make sure that Anri knew he could proceed without starting a fight. When the two were successfully around the corner, the nice plot would reveal its true purpose as a small headstone sat neatly on the ground. It was Kai’s headstone. Kit had spent an entire day burying and then decorating the area that Kai would forever rest in. He had wanted his friend to be with the school that had meant so much to him, and somehow having him so close brought him comfort. Truly, his empathy and compassion for others ran deep, otherwise the stranger he had known for eight hours would not have gotten a burial on Kit’s property. But in those eight hours they had bonded, and Kit mourned as though he had lost one of his own brothers. The headstone read solemnly.
Sekai Konishta Favored Son of the Crane Clan
It was all that Kit could write honestly, and he etched it neatly into the marble that would forever mark his grave. He didn’t know Kai’s birthday, and didn’t follow the same calendar schedule as the rest of the world thanks to his upbringing, so he couldn’t accurately date his death. All he knew for sure was that Sekai had been a member of the Crane school, and thus deserved a spot forever immortalizing him as such. He turned back to Anri, who possibly couldn’t even read in English, and read it too him.
“Sekai Konishta. A few weeks ago he happened upon my school, and died defending it…”
He turned to face Anri again. The sight of his friends grave had put another drop of empathy in his blood, and he knew now that Anri could not possibly be the Alien who was here to kill him. His inquisitive nature had brought him to the school, and Kit had acted like an animal, and no circumstances would make that acceptable. He bowed his head slightly in respect, putting his hands at his sides.
“I apologize. I am still in mourning. My glib remarks were unjustified.”
Raising his head, and hoping the sincere apology had been enough to keep the alien from storming off without first seeing the school, he returned from the world of morbid desolation with the same grin he had shown before. His teeth brandished, and hand back out to be shaken. When Anri didn’t immediately reach for the handshake, it didn’t take long for Kit to understand that he didn’t have a grasp on how human beings greeted one another. Toning down his facial expressions, but keeping a friendly gleam, he reach out and took the alien’s hand gently, pulling it out slightly, and moving it up and down.
“A handshake. It’s how you respectfully greet someone on this planet. I’m sure you have something similar too it.”
Actually he wasn’t sure of anything at all. If someone had told Kit there was an alien knocking at his door this morning, he would have blasted it down. Perhaps he needed Anri to show up so that he could see that not all foreign species were out to get him. Suddenly the thought arose that Anri had asked him a question, or rather inferred about the building itself. Feeling it would be rude not to explain the buildings history briefly, he continued.
“This is the Crane school, or as we are renaming it the Crane Clan Academy. Here just a few decades ago martial artists trained to become champions in the World Martial Arts Championship. Unfortunately they were beaten too many times by the same person, and so the school suffered financially. It seemed like a shame to me that such an excellent school should be cut down over a few bad sparring matches, so I am trying to re-open it.”
Satisfied with his own explanation, Kit put out his palm gesturing towards the dojo.
“Can I offer you a drink?”

Anri stared at the strange man awaiting for an reaction or anything really, his mind seemed too be taking in his words but his body still remained in its assumed fighting stance. What was with these humans? They seemed too be all over the place when it came to how they lived their lives in an seemingly uncontrolled state, though it wasn't true for all of them, just enough to make it a stereotype of them. No one was prefect though even aliens such as Anri and his people were just that, imperfect, it was impossible for people not to have a moment of weakness. Still to act such a way to a stranger was uncalled for, though as a simple process moved the gears in the mans head it appeared he was coming to same conclusion. The silence between the two was recovered with a quick apology from Kit about his previous actions, but given what he mentioned about another alien he could see just why he had acted the way he did but just because he was an alien doesn't mean he had anything in common with other bloke.
"That's fair I suppose but not all us aliens are the same." He gave a low grumble as the wavering air behind him became to waver with his cooling body, once again achieving his normal core temperature.
Keeping his body in the same spot Anri followed Kit with his eyes as he moved off too the side of the building, turning his legs when needed to keep his eyes locked on the man. Though he had come here for educations sake he was received with hate, for the shear fact of his race, already Kit was not on his good side but he wanted to stay... at last for now, his questions still lingered in his mind and he wasn't about to leave until they were answered or before the man pushed him too far and caused him to lash out. Watching his every movement did the gills that rested around his neck began to flutter about taking in all the smells in the area, though most of the area seemed to have a distinct scent of rotting wood, it was a sweet calming scent of the nearby trees which elevated Anri sour mood. Still fairly new too this world he had never had the pleasure of seeing first had a cherry blossom tree with his own two eyes, it was a spectacle which gave the dank area a glowing light too it. At the moment it was probably the only thing around with any sense of the word of beauty, growing out from the mass of roots and weeds that sprouted through the soil.
Having lost his train of thought while watching the trees as the blew every so gently in the wind did the sudden movement of Kit from the corner of his eyes cause him to snap back to the man thinking he might try something but instead he simply moved away from the alien towards the back plot of land, and with a small gesture of the hand offered Anri too follow him. Such a bold movement assuming that he would follow... but of course Anri would, he was curious too where it was the man was going, and more importantly why he had not answered his questions as of yet. Following the mans lead it brought then too a smaller area that seemed to focus on that of a small gray block which rested in the center of it, as the foreigner as Anri was he wasn't very sure at what he was looking at first but after taking a few seconds of examining it everything seemed to become clear. Though his English skills were lacking it didn't take a genius to understand that it was a grave of sorts, he had seen a few people get buried in his life time, though none were of relation or even of his race. His line of work put him dead in the middle of deaths icy stare but luckily he had not come into reapers grip as of yet, no but those around him had not faired as well. Who ever they were they must have held some type of relationship too the man with the solemn look he was holding on his face and it wasn't until Kit read the name did he learn of who it was.
"Happened upon the school? Wait...he was mourning over someone he barely knew? How weak was that?" Anri had met many of people in his line of work which perished within days or even hours of working with them, and never before had be shed any sadness on any of them. Just another weakness for people to exploit and with how many people Anri had gone after through the years he was sure he had amassed an army of people all of which wanted him dead by this point.
"Eh, its fine. Just base people off what they've done and not what they look like and we'll call it even." Anri noted but if the man had any real idea of which he had done in the past he imagined Kit would have the same if not similar actions towards him.
Finally Kit began the explanation he had been looking for since he first arrived and it was a short one, he had really been hoping there would have been more than a few lost fights but he was glad the man haven't given up where others had. It didn't matter how many times some one lost, defeat was only possible when everyone gave up, which clearly had happened in the school past, long, long ago.
With the notion of a drink, Anri took his hand and rubbed the back of his plated head. Kit had gone from being so harsh too being a good host, it was a rapid change and a strange one but after how much foot distance Anri had made today he could go for a drink, just as long as it wasn't alcohol, the stuff messed with Anri and all Vennor pretty harsh.
"Sure.... I could go for a drink, no tea though. Hate that crap."

The alien still hadn't introduced himself. Suddenly Kit didn’t feel nearly as bad about his harsh greeting. Clearly the alien hadn’t learned any of the human common courtesies yet. As he slid the wall paper door open and kicked off his sandals he hoped his guest would follow suit. Was he even wearing shoes? It was difficult to tell what on this creature clothing was and what his body was. The race was clearly built to take some damage, almost as if they had been engineered for fighting. Kit of course wasn’t even remotely close to being able to explain the biology of other creatures. Hell he hadn’t known that there was another race of bipedal creatures out there until a week ago. It was all still too new form.
His footsteps made a particularly loud noise on the fresh hardwood floor; that was attributed to his weights. When Kit had initially installed the panels he found that he couldn’t actually stand on them without stressing the boards. He figured that if one person weighing nearly a ton could break the floor, surely an entire school worth of them would be too overwhelming for the wood. Still, even after immense reinforcement, the clomping of his feet was still clearly heard and echoed through the dojo. The building itself was still the same size. Kit had worked with the original dimensions of the dojo not wanting to embark on the task of expanding further. Even if he had considered it the gardens were far too precious to be disturbed. All of his trainings success had come from those gardens and it wouldn’t have felt right removing them.
“We actually only have tea and water. Can I get you some Ice?”
These questions came naturally to Kit, yet they felt so weird, and almost fake to the stranger he was talking to. Not that he didn’t want to offer the man a cold drink, but did his species drink water? I mean he hated tea, so there was that. That little bit of information at least informed him that he required water to survive, or something of the like. All of this biological thought was starting to confuse Kit. He hadn’t studied much science even as a child, so recognizing this creatures abilities was very much out of his realm of ability. He decided to focus less on the fact that he was talking to an alien, and more like he were talking to a prospective student. Not that the alien seemed interested in training here, but it made him feel more comfortable to think so. The tea kettle had already been on the stove, so starting the boil would take a minute, a perfect chance for Kit to get a little more in depth with what he had told Anri earlier.
“My father once fought the warriors at this school. So when I left his training I knew I had to come and find this place. It was disappointing to see it so dilapidated. Graffiti on the walls, and mold festering throughout the building. It had lost all respect. This school deserved more than that. So I went ahead and spiffed it up, with a little help from my younger brother. The two of us have been training here ever since. It’s been an incredible experience to say the least.”
Ssssssss
The pot began to whistle slightly. It was only just noticeable but that’s how Kit liked it. Too hot and you couldn’t enjoy it right away. Taking it off the heat and moving it over to the table that he intended to kneel at, he set it down in the center of the table, putting out a second glass in case his guest wanted to try it anyway. He then turned back around towards the cabinets and got out a small clay cup. Most of the cups were previously there from the schools sustainability. In other words the students had made an effort to preserve themselves without the help of the government or others. Even cups from a super market seemed to scream unacceptable, so they had stocked cupboards. It always surprised Kit that the addicts hadn’t tried to sell the pottery, but then again he wondered just how much a little clay cup was worth. Was the entire cupboard even worth drugs? What did a specific quantity of drugs even cost?
Again his thoughts trailed, and as the sink began to slowly pour water into the cup, Kit went back into his story. The water was being pulled directly from the aquifer below, so it wasn’t particularly fast, but it was fresh.
“A little paint here, a few scrap parts there, and you have one hell of a home improvement project. I’m glad the work was noticeable from the outside. But enough about me, what brings you to Earth? If it isn’t obvious I don’t know a lot about the world outside of this planet”
Hell sometimes he didn’t know a lot about the world within his own planet. If that wasn’t obvious enough he hadn’t known that one of the largest martial arts schools in the world was no longer in business. He still couldn’t get over that. He hadn’t known that technology had advanced so far, and he definitely didn’t realize there were so many crooked people in the world. He continued.
“What brings an alien away from his own people? The adventure? Curiosity? And I never caught your name.”
There, now he would know the aliens name. Why hadn’t he thought to ask earlier? Actually he kind of had but…then again he was also being rather aggressive at the time, so perhaps it was better that he asked now rather than a few minutes ago. Setting the cup down on the table, as well as a plate with three small cubes of ice, Kit looked over to the alien, hoping he would sit down and indulge his curiosity. If the alien could even bend his knees. It really was ridiculous how little Kit knew about other creatures.

With Kit taking the led into the worn down building Anri followed in prusit though his heavy fought steps came with caution, the man had acted harshly towards and even with his distrust for alien Anri didn't feel the most welcomed here even after the man had offering him inside for a drink. Sliding the strange door out of his way did Kit enter the building leaving Anri holding back at its entrance as he looked back and forth down the outside wooden pathways for one reason or another he felt as though at any moment a trap would be sprung but it was probably just his years of working out in harsh conditions that made him think in such a way. Trust was hard to build with the alien but quick to lose, it wasn't always hard to tell when a traitor or deceiver was amongst ones own ranks but Anri was quick to snuff them out. Coming in a few seconds after Kit, Anri took notice that the man had removed his strange style of shoes and placed them off to the opening of the door, an action that he though strange, never himself seeing such a thing before but in a way it did make sense; why bring the outside dirt into your home...if this was the man's home. The place certainly didn't have the feel or look of a place anyone would stay in and he wasn't just thinking that based off the current delapated look of it all. It was apparent to Anri that the building itself had recently gone through much work but there was still along way to go before it would ever be completed, but the hard work was noticed and appreciated by the Vennor.
Seeing the way the wooden flooring at every step the man took Anri glanced down at his own armored plated feet wondering just how much pressure and weight the flooring would be able to take before it would collapse in on its self. Anri was by no means consider light in any form of the word and he knew it, alone without his thick plates his body mass was heavy compared too a human but the added addition of his plates and the weights that slung over his shoulders... it might have just been best if he set aside the weights for now, it wasn't as though there was going to be a fight anytime soon and even if there was he was even stronger without them than with. With a quick sliding motion Anri unclasped the black weights from his torso and with it did his own strength increase greatly, he had almost forgotten just what it felt like too not have anything that weighed him down anymore. Carefully Anri laid the weights just out side the entrance through which both of them had come from. Being that very few people could lift that amount they weighed alone it was very unlikely that some traveling person nearby would come across them and try to steal them, and even if they were... well lets just say there wouldn't been enough of them to send home to their families. Traitors, and petty thieves were amongst many things Anri hated, now a grand scheme which evolved highly trained individuals that...that was different, but not low class crime. With one final check to make sure they weren't going to move Anri moved back into the main room as he tested the flooring with one of his feet gently pressing his full weight onto as it squeaked loudly under the new found weight. Looking as if it was going hold he put both of his feet of the floor and finally made his way into the room for the first time, though the ground yelled at him in pain it was strong enough to hold him.
Looking around the room at the many designs and replaced boards the man seemed to have been hard at work restoring this place too what it was in its glory days, he wondered just how long it had been since then? Ten years, fifty? Maybe even hundreds. Earthing's had a funny way of keeping some old building persevered for thousands of years while they let other fall apart at natures whim, leaving them to rot in the harsh elements. Such a sad sight too behold, even now with his finely tuned eyes Anri could make out through the rot and aged wood that most if not all the pillars in the room had been hand crafted, just a skill to do that would have taken months for all of these, and that was just the pillars, why only spend such a special amount of time and not everything? Hearing the snapping of the fire from the nearby corner Anri turned his head to see Kit as he loomed over the stove top working away at the tea he was making, reminding him of the distaste he had for the beverage.
Going on to explain more of this place was Kit became to tell him about his father and his many fights which took place in this school as he called it... didn't much look like a school any more, but then again humans can live too be about one hundred... but to let such a place fall in such a small amount of time seem odd. Mentioning that Kit had a little brother Anri nodded his head as he glanced back and forth across the area though he saw no sign of another person being nearby it didn't mean that he wasn't too far away, he wondered if the younger sibling was anything like his older one, he really didn't need too people hating on him for being an alien. With the sound of the kettle being brought to boil Anri had to raise his voice slightly to talk over its roar.
"Brother huh? Only had an older brother growing up... he was a jerk, but then again I think its there job. Well maybe not all of them." He added almost forgetting Kit was the older of the two bothers.
"You mentioned that your father went here when he was younger I would assume, your elders seem rather fragile so I couldn't imagine one of them fighting in such a way. Just how long ago was that? This place looks like its been empty for quite some time. I really don't see anyone trying to fight in a rotten building like this place might have been before your handy work." Anri asked as Kit went to town working on brewing the hot water into tea.
At Kit's question he wasn't just sure how to answer it, mercenary work wasn't very well looked on by the rest of society but it filled the void that armies could not and bolstered the economy... or hindered it, really depending on just who it was that was paying for his services. One second he could be saving a group of refuges from the rebels and the next he could be enjoying a drink with the rebels after they paid him to burn them refugees alive... it was complex way of life but one that suited him very well.
"Me? Just work for the most part, I travel around a lot and sometimes need to settle down for a few months, make some quick cash and then be on my way once I've scrapped enough together. I heard Earth was a busy place with lots of different life forms here kind of like Alpha prime...which you probably don't know what that is do you? And as too why I'm no longer home... well that's another story, lets just say I'm better off out here than there anymore." He ended on that note.
"For my name... well, I don't particularly like the way you humans go around giving your name around as if its worth nothing. Back on my home names were never given in pleasantries when meeting someone for the first time, they had to earn it. You talked, didn't matter about what and you learned about the person, filling in the empty frame of the person they were from what you could get out of them. If you ended up liking the person at the end of the engagement then you told them your name, showing that you held them high enough in your eyes that should know just what your name was. And if it turned out you didn't like them then no loss, you would probably never met them again and even if you did either person knew how they felt about the other so there was no need to talk to them." Anri noted as he turned to face Kit.
"So Kit, tell me more about yourself, earn my name as your reward." He grinned.

Kit had gotten his alien counterpart talking. Anri had a deep voice to match Saito's, and considering their bodies were also built similarly it was no surprise that as they sat there looking at each other from across the table, their body language acted similarly as well. Broad shoulders, one are crossed over the chest while the other took hold of the tea cup. Kit was finally getting comfortable with the alien, who seemed really responsive to what he was saying. He didn't mind having to spell it out for him, how else would he have ever known how long this place was alive, or when it finally failed. Hell Kit hadn't even bothered to tell Anri the most important part, that his own father had been the reason for the school's misfortunes. It made him smile listening to Anri discuss his own home, and how they didn't give out names so easily. Kit could see the reasoning, though this wouldn't change his actions in the future. He took a sip of the warm tea and set it back down on the table letting the bitter liquid dance on his tongue for a moment. After letting the cup clank against the table he responded to the Alien, knowing it was going to be quite the conversation to learn this creatures name.
"I see you understand the dynamics of brotherhood very well Alien. I would imagine my brother would agree with you. Although younger brothers often reciprocate by being a complete pain in the rear"
He chuckled at Anri's statement and his own retort. After thinking about his time with Ethan thus far he couldn't help but feel as though both statements were completely true. Just the other night Kit was pushing Ethan beyond his physical limitations and the boy had been yelling at Kit to stop. Perhaps that made him a jerk, I mean Kit did seem to take a small amount of pleasure out of ensuring his brothers physical condition was top notch, but Ethan always made it up by saying some witty teenage remark that Kit just couldn't respond to. The boy was quick witted, so Kit knew that at the very least he could talk someone to death if the need did arise.
"It was about twenty two years ago when the final Sensei of this dojo let it go. That may not seem like a very long time to you, but considering the dissaray of the surrounding street corners, and weather conditions, i'm surprised the building was standing at all. I think it speaks even greater of the structures integrity that after all that time it never fell. I have restored it to what I believe was its original glory."
Alpha...what? There was so much Kit needed to learn, and it would have helped if Anri had explained to him what exactly an alpha prime was. It sounded like an army. His understanding of the word Alpha meant that it was the first, or the head. And prime made it seem elite. Perhaps this was a place where only the best of the best went, but how would they measure it? Was it based on fighting talent as well, or was it based on monetary stature in the community. Certainly Kit was known through his father in the fighting community, but if he were to walk into a big city and demand respect he wouldn't find it because nobody in central followed a two decade old tournament victory. What the hell is an alpha prime? He didn't ask, figuring it would all come out in future conversation. Anri seemed to recognize that Kit didn't understand everything, but continued speaking regardless.
All was going well until Anri did something Kit hadn't been expecting. He called him by his nickname. Kit was not the name he introduced himself as...ever. He was called Saito by all those who knew not of his family heritage. Kit was a playful nickname his brothers had given him due to his Surname Kito. Had Anri come up with this nickname on his own? Had he just assumed? Again this guy sounded suspisuos, and to make matters worse a chirping from out side set off an alarm in Kit's mind. His ability to communicate with other creatures had left him completely aware of his surroundings, and although he had not personally met Anri before, the animals of the forest had at least heard of him. They were painting a picture for Kit, one that he found difficult to believe. A rutheless killer of sorts. Although that had been Saito's initial response to him at the door, the man hardly seemed like someone who went around killing for the fun of it. Although the birds had pirched themselves on the window seat, Kit chose not to look at them, keeping the same face he had the entire conversation. There was no reason to put his alien guest on the alert. Kit rarely acted on news from his animal Kin unless it seemed life threatening, but Anri was...not dangerous. Not at the moment anyway. Right now he was an alien enjoying a glass of water and engaging in basic conversation. So Kit would indulge him further.
"Saito actually."
He corrected, figuring it was better to have the alien call him by his proper name until he knew more about him. The name Kit still didn't sound right even coming from his brothers. No reason a stranger should be permitted to call him by it.
"As for earning your name...My life is an open book. I was raised to be a disciplined fighter for the martial arts. Unfortunately the entire purpose of my training has since disappeared. There was, at one time, a world wide martial arts tournament that took place yearly, and my father had created his own school, made entirely out of his kin, to dominate the tournament. By the time his second oldest, myself, was old enough to fight, the tournament was no longer held. Disappointing really. You train your entire life only to find that your goal has been taken from you. So I altered my dream, and decided that I would bring back that martial arts tournament, first by returning this school to its former glory, and then by raising the money myself. Tell me alien, would you participate in such a tournament. There is after all always a hefty cash reward for the victor"

Now that kit had set the cups at the table Anri sought to join him, after all he had gone through the work of making the drinks even though his was simply only water, after all he was still a tad fuzzy on how earth traditions went, it would a good learning experience if he received anything out of today. Talking a few steps on the creaky wooden floor boards the alien would lean over and sit at the table across from where it was that Kit was at. Finding a comfortable spot to rest on his rear he let his legs cross over one another, he never found the potion in which many at these small tables would sit comfy, having to place all his weight on his knees and legs was something he could do for hours and he had but it wasn't very pleasant for the heavy alien. Watching Kit sip from the cup Anri thought he would do the same, thankfully it looked like the man had adhered to his words of his distaste for tea and instead gave him water, something of which Anri was glad too see. Usually humans would over look or completely ignore his words but it appeared Kit was unlike the rest of them, so far it was a good sign towards his like of the man but there was still plenty he did not know of him. The first impression of Kit had not been the best of ones but it looked as though the man was trying to redeem himself towards the alien, and so far it was working but there would need to be more work on the mans effort before that point was reached.
As the man placed his cup back down on the table with a slight clink he began to talk about his brother, giving Anri a better idea of the relationship that the two of them shared. It seemed like a tepical normal brother relationship, the younger one was the one that was in the pain in the back of their neck. For the most part Anri was the same with his brother at least until he left to go join the service, after that the type of brother relationship they had was never the same. It wasn't as though they didn't love each anymore just the way they acted towards one another was different, the military... had a way of changing how you acted from before, the young brotherly love was gone but they were good friends still... he still missed those days they picked on one another but those were just a faint memory now.
"You're lucky to have him, I wish I could see by brother again, though the relationship we have wasn't the same that you share with yours as of now. Things change as you age and I found that out quickly when I was young." Anri glanced over Kit's shoulders as he said that, though his eyes weren't really looking at much of anything, just staring at a blank wall.
Taking the cup away from his lips he placed it back upon the table drained off all its liquid, Vennor's were naturally fast eaters and drinkers, even as far away he was from his home it held true. Listening as Kit continued about the school he was finally starting to get a better idea of just what this building had gone through its many years of isolation from the rest of world, it was hard to believe anyone would leave a place unattended for so long. Even with the rot and worn wood he would see that it used to be a grand place just from the details of the building, everything made with care and love, not something the tall gray skyscraper of the city shared with it. In all reality it was a surprise someone hadn't come along earlier to fix it up but it didn't seem as every one was as interested in persevering the past as Kit was, quite a shame from an investment point of view. People were always looking for ways to become stronger, faster, build their endurance and a martial arts school was such a place in which they could achieve all of it.
"Amazing that such a building could fall to the elements of your word so quickly, but then again your world does seem to receive quite a bit of snow in the cooler months, not something I could say about Riva... oh right sorry, that's my home world." He mentioned trying to give some insight too Kit so that he might better understand where it was he was raised.
"It must had taking some skilled workers to make it last as long as it did without any up keeping over the years. So congrats too whoever it was that built this place, I don't think I've ever heard of a wooden structure lasting that long and as well as this one had for such a long period of time." He mentioned as he glanced over the room, once more looking at the wooden pillars.
At the mention of correcting his name did Anri raise his eye brow, it appeared as though he did not prefer the way he spoke his name but none the less he would respect however he wished to be called. After all this was his home which he had let him enter and the name did belong to him. Switching the subject back to his dreams of a tournament that was enough to gain all of Anri's attention, tournaments were something that he specialized in, never knowing who it was that he just might face in the arena not to mention there was always prize money that followed after its wake.
"A tournament huh? Well you happen to be looking at someone who has been through quite a bit of them over his years of traveling and I have to say its a splendid idea...Satio. They bring people from all around to compete in them, and also strengthen the economy in the nearby town, tourists, fighters, money, what's there not to like about the idea? If I was still around when such a tournament was taking place then I would mostly likely par take in it. Of course I do have a busy plate as it is." Anri paused as he placed his hand on his chin as he thought about it.
"Really it would all depend on when it was and how much cash we were talking about. I jump at the chance of fighting people for money but it would have to be worth my time. And for that matter would you par take in the event yourself? Or just be the sponsor that watches from afar in your owners box?" Anri asked hoping for the first of the suggestions, he was interested too see what it was that Satio could bring to the table, even now is power wasn't the highest he had come across but there was plenty of potential in the man and his action where proof of it.

Suddenly the conversation was interesting. Kit could hardly keep going about the infrastructure of his building. While he had put forth the blood and sweat to make it stable, he didn’t really have much to say about it. What could one say about a building? It had walls, and tiles, and shingles, and paint. A few nails and a large wall around it. He had been surprised when Anri asked about it at all and assumed the entire time that the creature must have been some sort of architect to be so interested in the building. However when Kit mentioned the tournament Anri too seemed to be lit with excitement. Perhaps the Alien didn’t recognize his own change in the conversation, but the man now had said more words concerning the tournament than in their entire conversation thus far. Now they had something to talk about. Kit could go on for hours explaining the inner workings of his dream tournament.
“Ideally there would be 16 combatants. An early preliminary would eliminate those who were not yet ready to compete. Once the sixteen are chosen it would be as easy as one on one matches leading to a climactic finale!”
Taking another sip of his drink, Kit noticed the alien’s glass was already empty. He must have been very thirsty to chug his drink like that. Putting one leg up and then rising back into a standing position Kit turned to the faucet only a few feet behind him, and grabbed a small pitcher hanging from the cupboard on a rounded hook. As the water drained into the new container Kit continued, letting it fill all the way to the top before cutting off the water and facing the alien again.
“I can’t even imagine how much money one could win. There would be an entry fee of course that would help pay for the event to even happen, and what remained would be the prize money. Several thousand Zeni I would imagine. The money is only a small part of why the tournament would take place however, finding an opponent that can really push your limits is the real fun. My father always told me to accept friendly spars as often as possible, because fighting as an art is rare. All too often someone is trying to kill you or benefit themselves selfishly. A tournament is a chance for all the true fighters to display their hard work, and show respect to those around them.”
Pouring more water in Anri’s glass, and setting the pitcher on the table so the alien could drink as he pleased, Kit couldn’t help but go on. He wasn’t normally a conversationalist but when it came to the martial arts he had too much to say. Anri had after all inquired about Kit’s intentions, so the man would respond honestly. It was nice to be inside as well, the longer they were inside the cooler they became. Where Kit had started out in the baking sun, he was now directly under the kitchen’s ceiling fan, and the sweat and heat had almost completely evaporated from his skin. This only made him more willing to communicate.
“Back home I would face off against my siblings, but at some point that isn’t enough. I’m at the unfortunate point in my life where the only creatures willing to fight me do so to kill me rather than engage in the fine art that is martial arts. It’s criminal really. What brings me the greatest joy, and I can only participate to the death. The World Martials Arts Championship takes care of that problem and allows fighters the chance to enjoy themselves free from the distraction of being potentially murdered.”
Taking a short break to take a sip of tea, and possibly hear out a response from Anri, Kit would continue.
“But Alien, you know the what I find fondest in the idea of bringing back the tournament? All of my training will finally be going to some use. Of course I use it for self-defense, but why practice day in and day out just for the off chance that you ever require its use. I want something to work towards. My brother and I require a goal, and now that I have already accomplished my first goal of even making it out here, I am in desperate need of another one.”
Kit knew of power levels though only generically. He could feel when someone was strong, but had no way of gauging it. Kai had been able to tell you a number within the thousands, but Kit hadn’t learned such a system, nor did he have a teacher for it. If he did, he would have known that he was over twenty thousand in his normal setting. Yet when he had left his father’s home he was only a tenth of that. Really it was remarkable that experiencing the real world had not only increased his power level, but done so in such a short amount of time. Even with his weights on he felt stronger and faster than he had ever been in his life, so it was understandable that he wanted to test those boundaries even further. Not only because of the looming threat of other aliens being out to kill him, but for his own pride. While he cared greatly for those around him, he couldn’t help but be slightly selfish in his motives. He wanted a challenge.
If Anri wasn’t as interested in martial arts as Kit was then he had wasted his breath and probably scared the guy off. Saito was not secretive about his zealous attitude towards combat. He finished up rather abruptly, sipping the last of the warm tea in his cup and setting it down one last time.
“So to answer your question…Yes, I would certainly attend. On top of that, I would certainly hope to win! I have waited far too long to expect anything else to occur.”

At Anri's words he could see the spark of life come into the mans eyes as the passion flowed through his words too meet the alien, this tournament was something he seemed greatly fond of. Watching the man he noticed the curve that was in his posture before disappeared as he was at full attention now, some how he felt as though his ears were about to be talked off so Anri braced for the wave of words that were too soon to follow. He grinned at thought but at the same time also found it refreshing that someone as young as him had realist and big dreams, nothing was going to be out of this guys reach if he pushed himself the way he had done to this building. Passion, willpower and a vision was all any one needed to accomplish their goals and the kid had all three of them. Listening as he talked about how he would structure the lay out of the combat Anri placed his finger on the rim of the cup and began to spin it around his finger making it wobble on the table, though his focus his attention was on Kit he often found his hands needed something to fixate themselves on, if not this then he would be smoking.
Glancing over at Anri's now empty cup Kit took notice that the alien might be more thirsty than one had first thought, with swift movement he was able to stand up from the table and make his way over to the sink as he began to fill a large pitcher with the clear substance for substantiating life, leaving Anri alone once more at the table which he didn't mind, after spending some many collective years alone in space he had gotten used to the lack of people plus he was only but a few feet away from where he sat. With the noise of the rushing water stopping the man turned to face Anri with the pitcher filled to brim with water as small droplets clung to the side not waiting to be cast too the ground below. Moving his way back towards him Kit started up once again but this time talking about the money rewards which caught most of Anri's attention, money always talked with him, whether it was a simple delivery mission or killing civilians, no job was ever over the top for him as long as the price was right. Filling the glass as he talk Kit placed it close to him as to give Anri unlimited access to the pitcher of water which he gladly took and pressing the pitcher to his lips as he began to down the whole thing until there was but a few drops that held onto the sides, bringing away from his mouth with a loud gasp he placed the pitcher onto the table with a loud tap. Having his people come from the seas and fresh water lakes water was something they prized even more so than the fleshy humans, with Riva having a much moister climate than that of Earth he found the air here to be terribly dry in comparison, so the water was a welcomed site. Going for a little longer than man took a break to drink from his tea which gave Anri some room too speak, he was surprised that the man had such lung power too talk so long.
"You sure do like to talk don't you?" He grinned as he rubbed the length of his plated arm rubbing the small cuts and bumps that ran across its surface.
"Sounds like you have much of it worked out already but considering just how long you have been working towards this it doesn't come to much as a surprise. Sixteen sound about right too me, though I'm more experienced with arena fights, I place them in close positions next to one another... arena fights tend to be a bit more loose when it comes to the rules that the fighters abide too.... and it was usually free for all. All in all they were good times with plenty of cash prizes though I didn't win all of them I did my damnest, if I remember correctly some of the prizes were around five thousand too ten thousand zeni, though that price is converted from space creds." He paused to finsih off the rest of the water in the cup that sat before him.
"I understand that though I never really had that problem, I sparred all the time back home, all for training purposes, no one was there to kill the other fighter, we had all gone there to become better fighters overall. But it eventually comes to the point where you only find those that are strong enough to fight you only wish too do harm to the point in which they kill you, I myself have come across many but as you can see I still sit here today in front of you. This does not mean I can never be defeated I've just been lucky as hell so far, I'm sure one day I will fall to the sword of another but that is not today... and tomorrow isn't looking particularly good either." He placed his hand on his chin as if he thinking as Kit continued his talk.
"I do practice every day in chance the off chance I might need it because chances are that every day I will need it, there are many people out there and not everyone wants to be your friend, they mean harm and I need to be able to defend myself. From the looks of it you don't travel nearly as much as I do, but once you start too you see a whole new part of the vale in which you sometimes find yourself to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I never know who might be going after me for whatever reason but I am always ready for whatever life throws at me other wise I won't have a life to be ready for. But given that we both lead different lives the uses of such a skill can be applied across a wide area."
With both of their cups now empty Kit placed his upon the table with Anri's ending statement as he finally answered his question that he was indeed going to fight in the tournament.
"Glad to hear it Satio, I hate the masked people that watch from above, never once am I able to fight with them one on one in the arena. But the real question is do you think you are ready? There are strong people out there; no offense, at the strength you're at I wouldn't suggest that you take that leap, though I would think the tournament is still a long ways off from this point. You're strong but if I were to compete it wouldn't be much of a fight between us." He noted not to insult the man but just to state the fact, while Satio was strong for a human the alien over powered him greatly as he wasn't yet showing his true strength.

Kit let out a hardy laugh as the creature downed the entire pitcher, skipping the cup entirely. He was glad he had brought it over, clearly Anri had been thirsty. The Alien had quite a bit to say as well, and as he spoke Kit got an even closer glance into his guests true nature. Though he didn't seem particularly proud of himself or his accomplishments, he spoke with a cold tone. Saito hadn't been too worried about this as he himself had brought the subject up, but the longer Anri went on the more it concerned him. Does he think of death so casually? It was all too possible that Anri wasn't phased by the concept of death and his explanation of the arena explained that even more. At first glance the idea of a free for all just sounded fun. No rules or regulations to take away from natural fighting. But what if a free for all meant a possible death sentence Kit wanted nothing to do with it. Actually it was all begining to make sense. The birds fear of him, and his cold demeanor. Though the alien was friendly enough it was obvious to Kit that he was, in fact, a stone cold killer. How many didn't seem to matter, and the why was obvious just by his interest in the compensation. Was he a contract killer?
What he said next however brought him more concern than anything else. It rang through his ears like a shrill whistle. Like a gunshot from the Beretta only inches away from his ears.
You're strong but if I were to compete it wouldn't be much of a fight between us
Anri hadn't insulted Kit, he had simply put his guard up yet again. Even though the man was not being aggressive to Kit personally, the energy he was emitting didn't ring positively. His vibe was much like his verbal responses, cold. Who was this alien, and why wouldn't he afford Kit the courtesy of his name. Why would someone so dangerous be wandering the streets admiring the houses. It didn't make any sense. Anri was here for a reason, maybe not in this dojo, but on this planet, and it couldn't be a good one. Contract killers were not known for their upstanding moral values. Kit stood up, his own facial expression changing as well. Though it was against his better judgement he knew he had to explore this, he needed answers, and he needed to learn more about this creature. He clearly wasn't Tundra, but what if he was worse than that. What if he was even stronger than the alien who had killed Kai?
"Show me."
He could think of nothing more to say. The alien had gone beyond being intriguing, but to being legitimately dangerous. Of course Kit wasn't going to smite him from the planet, even if he could. He had to prove his last statement. If there were other creatures of such incredible power out there and Kit was sitting idly by he would never forgive himself. For all he knew this man could be contracted to kill someone he cared for. What if he was out there causing mass genocide and Kit couldn't do anything about it. Anri didn't seem like the type to do that, but then again he didn't seem like the type who would turn down any substancial amount of money either. Kit didn't want to fight the Alien for justice, he wanted to see if his words were true. Even with Anri having nothing to do with Saito he knew that one day he could. Or perhaps an alien even stronger than him would arrive one day and be unbeatable, all because Kit limited his scope.
Walking out to the center of the wooden floor, spreading his legs slightly and raising both hands, one to his face and the other bent and out, he readied his fighting stance. His own powerlevel rose slightly, still nothing particularly impressive considering what Anri possessed, but still significantly higher than a normal human being. His aura was not yet visible, but lifted the nearby dust as a flury of wind formed around him. Kit hadn't meant to release so much energy in his stance, but something about the creature in front of him brought it out. Almost as if the Ki had a mind of its own. It was begging for the chance to class with Anri's. While kit couldn't feel much power from the Alien he knew his claims were not baseless. If the creature was serious, he would fight Kit and show him exactly what he was talking about.
Back home Kit had been the top of the compound. Already he had been shown that this was still the bottom of the barrel when it came to what Earth had to offer. If he was to learn that the situation was even more dire than he had originally considered it could very well be too much for the young man to handle. He couldnt let himself be caught off guard. So long as Anri was a friendly alien passerby he needed to see the power he possessed. Heaven forbid the moment Anri or an alien like him was no longer friendly and he was forced into combat blind. He needed this. His right foot twisted to the left slightly to improve his balance, and as he spoke again his fist turned into an open palm facing out towards the challenged alien.
"If you mean it, show me. Give me a reason to prepare further"
Though he didn't need a reason to train, he always felt the need to, he knew that if Anri was as strong as he claimed, that Kit would be inspired even more to train and learn. Perhaps out of respect, or fear, or anxiety. If one existed, then there was bound to be another, and another. Really Kit wanted this fight so that he could, on the off chance, beat Anri and wipe the concern from his mind. Ever since Nyu's arrival he had wondered what was out there. Maybe Anri was just a cocky alien who was in over his head. But Kit doubted that sincerely.

As Anri's comment left his mouth he could tell it didn't resonate with Satio as well as he would have thought, there was no mean of any insult behind it but it wasn't the response that Satio was giving off,but rather the words seemed to have elevated the man in his small movements, registering within the alien though he wasn't very sure of what to make of it yet. Even before that his comments about fighting and death seemed to put the man off which wasn't surprising, not many shared the same casual ideas about life and death that he did, long ago it was something he had learned not to care about, everything would come into existence and one day its life would fade leaving scraps behind of what they once used too be. In the reality of everything all it did was make him an all around better mercenary, those that could not kill had no place in such a line of work, either they died or never hung out long enough to see the profession take off within them. A conscience was something that told one right from wrong, truly something that kept people from doing terrible things but it was something that the armored alien lacked, right and wrong were just too sides of a coin too him mattering little in the grand scheme of things too come, or things past. The strong would survive and the weak would perish, life its self did not fringe on ones alignment too either side, leaving him to wonder the grey void between them, chosen what he thought would best reward him for his deeds.
It was the subtle changes in Satio's face that confirmed that the attempts at trying to win his name had come to a close, at least for now, the human seemed more wary of him though not too the same harsh level as when they first met but close enough. His short words showed that he was interesting in seeing just what it was that Anri had too offer and he wasn't sure that he should really give the man what he wanted. It would be a waste of power which he could possibly need later, not to mention he could tell his own strength was leagues ahead of Satio's, such a fight would not be one that would last for very long... at least not like he was currently. Flashing his eyes back over too the door way he could see part of the black weights that hadn't shifted from the place where he had laid them before, a good sign that no one had tired to mess with them, like he needed to waste more energy that he was already going to use in the coming spar... at least he was thinking it was a spar as he glanced back over to Satio who had already taken a fighting stance in the center of the wooded flooring, if the man was going to try and kill him he was going to find that Anri would not fall very easily. Though Satio was ready Anri was not as of yet, he was going to fight he was going to get more out of this with an added challenge.
"Where fighting you right now would be fun I can't imagine it would be very difficult on my part as of right now. If you indulge me for just a minute I can give you a fight that both of us will look forward too." He note, wheter or not Satio would give him the second didn't really matter too the alien, at the strength he was at now he could bat him away without so much as a second thought of it. Stepping up from the table Anri would make his way over too the entrance and step just outside the building too equip his heavy weights, slipping them over his board shoulders he would latch them together and then check to make sure they weren't going to fall off. Finding that they were steady enough for combat he turned back to face Satio.
"One more thing... I'm sure you would hate too see your project here to become a mess once more, and given the way I fight it is all possible that it will indeed happen, not to mention my weight alone would most likely crush the well placed flooring inside. On that note I suggest we move the spar too nearby location, one that will not cause any damage here, I would hate too see a historical piece of your world's history to become damaged do too some reckless behavior." Anri noted hoping that Satio would heed his warning, as he wouldn't be too happy if the old building were to collapse.
On his words Anri would walk out away from the over hang that ran the course of the building and leap high into the sky with a single burst of movement as his eyes looked down upon the land trying to find a decent place in which they would have adequate room too fight in. Spotting a large open field not but a few hundred meters away from they were at he gave off a small grin as he came crashing back into the ground leaving a small crater in where he landed.
"There a good open field not to far from here, it will give us more than ample room too fight in without anything or anyone too get in the way." He noted as he turned back to face the direction in which the area was at.
"I hope too see you there and soon, time is money and I really don't have all day for this." He grinned as with another kick off the ground did he fling off into the sky drilling the ground even more than it had been in the first place, leaving behind a decent sized crater in his wake.
Though Anri has said he hoped that the man would show up he had a strong feeling in his gut that he was going too, a challenge had been placed by Satio after all and he wasn't about to back down after that. Even with as strong as the human thought he was the lust for knowing there might be someone stronger than him out there would eventually force him to come and seek Anri for the answer he was looking for and the alien would gladly await for him as he slammed into the clearing from the single leap as grass and rocks went flying out from around him, creating yet again another pocket in the grounds surface. With nothing else too do but wait at this time he found this the prefect opportunity in which to take a breather as he popped a cigarette from his bandoleer into his mouth and lit the lip, enjoying a relaxing smoke right there.

Kit regretted his decision to engage the alien further. He should have explained very specifically that this was his building and that it had no history. Instead he had indulged the creature’s curiosities. So far what he had gotten out of it was a distinct feeling as though the creature was dangerous, and a need to find out. Anri turned out his challenge and issued an alterior one. He wanted Kit to leave the dojo. Kit had tested the wood and wall at his very strongest and found that with the exception of the hanging fixtures the building was capable of taking the punishment. Either Anri was being obnoxiously cocky, or he was just as dangerous as Kit feared. As the alien moved out of the Dojo Kit considered letting him leave and never looking back. He could easily let the large alien creature walk out of his life and never think twice about it. He knew however this wasn't going to be the case. There was a reason Anri had shown up at the dojo that day. There was a reason that Kit had let him in. Fate had played a hand in this and Kit wasn't going to be the one to deny destiny. He had to learn more. He had to find out what awaited him.
For a moment he tugged on the weights attached carefully to his wrists. If Anri was even half as strong as he boasted he would be more than a challenge for Kit. The feeling passed quickly however as he decided that the weights were of no use if he took them off at every little challenge. He needed to keep them on if he ever hoped to improve. Already these weights had granted him nearly ten times his original strength from when he had left the compound. Thinking about it now if he kept them on moving forward he would be unstoppable even to creatures like Anri in no time. Then the alien did something Kit had never expected. Never before in his time on Earth had he seen another humanoid creature fly. Yet fly he did, upwards and into the sky. He had given Kit a direction and he would without pause follow it. His eyes narrowed slightly as the seriousness of the situation dawned on him. Whoever Anri was, he certainly didn't play by the same rules as Kit, or anyone for that matter. This alien had created his own set of moral guidelines, and Kit could only hope that killing him didn't fall inside of those arbitrary rules. Though even if it did, he still would have taken the challenge. How could he turn it down?
"We will see."
The birds from the window had dispersed, not wanting to be anywhere near the fight that was about to take place. They were right to take cover. Kit had never before fought a person of this level, and although Anri had been in a number of combats Kit believed he would be in a unique position this day as well. Kit was no push over. He had trained his entire life in the martial arts and was not about to let a tough exterior and underhanded threat take that experience away from him. His legs locked in place, and then with the speed of his Kiai Dash he made his way to the field that the fight would take place in. His body moved in a blur as his legs picked up in a full sprint. By the time Anri had gotten the cigarette out, Kit had already arrived, and before the creature mysteriously lit the death stick, He was staring the alien down. Had the battle field of choice been further away Kit would have been unable to near instantly arrive there, but his dash allowed for such movements if only in a limited scope. His speed had caused the tall nearby grass to shake and flurry, even bringing an additional ember to Anri's drag as he lit it. Kit had to show Anri that he was not the only one capable of impressive movements. He wouldn't be intimidated so easily.
Though when Anri activated his Ki to lift into the air, Saito had to admit his apprehension. Not even at the act of flying, but at the sudden burst of Ki. Because Anri was not a human he had more difficulty in concealing his Ki, and so when he did finally activate it, Saito caught a glimpse of the energy that he had, and it was easily up there with what Nyu's power had been. At his prime Nyu had brought nearly thirty thousand power level to their fight. Yet with the simple act of flight Anri had grossed almost that entire number. That meant that when it came to fighting he would be even higher than that. Kit was still shaky on the numbers, but one thing was certain. Anri meant business.
"Let us not waste any more time."
The alien was now wearing an armor over his body. Really the armor appeared to be weaker than his actual skin. It was clear to Kit that the alien had added his own handicap. He was going to fight in weighted armor just like Kit. Good. Anri really had no idea what to expect from Saito. He hadn’t revealed any amount of his PL meaning that for all the alien knew he could be hiding something big. Kit only wished that were the case. His jolt forward had undoubtedly revealed his base maximum. Anri was now aware that Kit could only handle about ten thousand PL with his armor on. To Kit this was a hindrance, but he failed to realize just how much of one. Even with his armor Anri far surpassed him.
“Normally I don’t engage with strangers. Tell me your name alien, that I might know the name of my opponent!”
Perhaps that’s what Anri was looking for. Someone willing to be straight forward and ask for the name directly. He had given Anri the conversation he so desired, it was time to face off in fisticuffs, and his curiosity had peaked. What was the alien’s name? He wanted to keep it on the record of his mind. Surely this wouldn’t be their last encounter.
