Knowledge is a dangerous prospect. It is a terrifying revelation that can bring even the strongest man to his knees. Knowledge of brutality and its natural occurrence in the world. Knowledge about kindness and its lack of impact. Knowledge about hate and greed, the truth of its abundance. And the most telling of all, knowledge of mortality. These truths are not known by all. Many live their entire life unable to learn just how truly complicated reality is. It has never been so black and white, and it never will be. The ignorant go one, living menial lives of emotionally follies, never truly experiencing these truths, never wanting to. Kit could have gone his entire life without learning what the world was really like. He could have lived at the compound, where his father had hid his family from the dangers of the world. His father had to have known the truth. He must have known that Fuhrer Burradori had fought for the Earth’s independence. They were practically the same age when it happened. He had to know the true darkness that at one point gripped the planet, and somehow he must have known it was still ever present.
But Saito had not stayed at the compound. He had ventured out in search of real answers. In a world he was truly ignorant of, he sought what did not exist. Now it was clear that this illusion was not worth attempting to obtain. The fragile glass of ignorance had been shattered by the hound Kemuri and with it any innocence the man had remaining. He had spent the last several weeks in solitude, but after an engaging conversation with the King, it became clear that he could not continue to wallow in self pity and despair. He had to do something about it. No, his goals were not the same as before, but then again Saito wasn’t the same as he was before. The man had been through much and could never return to the days of peace. Kemuri had robbed him of such pleasures. This however is what he had wanted all along. He had wanted admiration and glory for his house and for his name. He had wanted to teach others, and he had wanted to learn from the masters of the world that once held his fathers attention. With a retrospective view of the situation, it was clear all of that was still possible, though glory was hardly of any importance.
His feet landed gently on the marble steps of the lookout. It still held a torn look about it, much of the blood still stained into the rock. His blood. Holding strong his shoulders wouldn’t shake or shutter. Though the pains of that day were forever burned into his memory, he had dulled them, and memories couldn’t hurt him anyway. He scanned about, his keen ability to sense others actively searching out anyone. There had been so many on the lookout before. On his first arrival three power levels were below it sparring. Yet none were there now. Two were inside the building, those were Kaladar and Carla, yet only one appeared there now. Saito had argued with Alex and Carmen to no avail, their lack of appearance here was unsurprising and truly unwanted. Though Carla’s presence had been expected. The star pupil was misguided, severely, but had been knocked unconscious on the floor of the lookout. Her death was unlikely, had she left on her own? Abandoned her watch? Did this mean that Kaladar was alone? No there was one other creature whom called the lookout home. Mr. Popo. Saito remembered being surprised by the Genie’s arrival. His power had been suppressed even better than his Master. Then again, Della had been down there with him, and all Saito had as confirmation of his life were the illusions he had seen in his own near death.
“Kaladar….Popo”
His baritone voice echoed across the lookout. He hoped at least one of them was here. He still wasn’t entirely certain how the guardian of Earth thing worked, but he assumed it meant staying in one place. If that was the case at least the old human would be there. Really though, he wanted to see Popo, just once. Reality was harsh enough without knowing that another brilliant creature had passed from it. He waited in silence, only listening to the wind as it wisped through the brown, dead leaves that had fallen from the collapsed tree’s and burned bushes. He felt the burning feeling of humiliation once more, remembering the last time Kaladar had seen him. He was a wreck, and of course for a valid reason. But temper tantrums had never been his style, and certainly wouldn’t come so easily in the future.
His leather jacket rustled against his belt. His zipper had been clacking gently against the steal of the belt, and so Saito put a hand in his pocket to quell the noise. His look had changed since they had last seen him. His hair no longer caught his shoulders but instead stopped below his ears. His facial hair consisted of a light goatee that wrapped around his lips, a small break on the right side revealing the scar that Kemuri had latched onto his skin. That scar ran up to his eye, though a patch now covered it. Not a bloody rag or towel, but a true metal patch with a soft underbelly to press against his socket. The string was difficult to see as it wrapped around his upper forehead and into his deep blond hair. On his back was an all too familiar blade, one he had finally had the nerve to fix up. Kemuri’s blade. But that was a poor name for it. Saito preferred to call it, Justice.
He waited, wondering if he was even welcome on the lookout. Hoping to see a familiar face, or two.

Kalaadar and Popo were inside the Lookout, still rebuilding everything that got destroyed in the battle with Kemuri. It was going to take some time, but they were going to make it better than before. It was time to move on from that awful day, time to forget everything that happened. It hadn’t been very long, and Popo was still suffering from his fight against Jenn, but the genie was much better than before.
“Kami, we should start rebuilding the Lookout as soon as we can.” Mr. Popo said standing from the table.
“Sit back down Popo, there is going to be plenty of time to rebuild this place. All in all there isn’t much that we have to do. More of this place could have been destroyed, but we were lucky. Even though the fighting took place here, the damage is surprisingly minimal, to what it could have been.” Kaladar said motioning for Popo to take his seat.
Sitting back down “I guess you are right Kami, I would just think you would want to fix what he destroyed as quickly as possible. You never know who is going to stop by and you don’’t want them to see the place still a wreck.” Mr. Popo explained
Kami smiled at his longtime friend, he was glad that the genie was able to survive the fight. Even though Jenn had all the intentions to kill him, it was good to see that she could control herself and realize the greater threat. “I don’t think we are going to get anyone here for some time Mr. Popo. I doubt I will see any one who was here that day again. Carla and Saito both fled from the scene quickly after everything ended. Azazel unfortunately died fighting. Alexander and Carmen left before anything too serious happened.” Kaladar explained to Popo.
What Kaladar didn’t realize is he was going to be meeting one of them sooner then he thought. Kaladar and Popo continued to talk about the events of that day, trying to see if there was someway it could have been avoided. During their conversation, they felt a ki signature land on the lookout and heat their names called. The two looked at each other, both of them recognized the ki signature, but were unsure if it was actually him. Quickly returning to the top of the Lookout, the two make their way over to the visitor.
Soon enough the figure began to come into view. It was who they thought it was, Saito Kito had found his way back to the Lookout. Much to the surprise of Kaladar and Mr. Popo. Kaladar saw the look on the boy’s face after he had taken Kemuri’s life. It was the first time he had killed anyone, and there was no doubt in Kaladars mind that it had changed the boy, shaken him.
“Saito, I did not expect to see you again so soon, but I am glad that you are here. I am sure there is a lot you wish to discuss and I will be happy to answer any of your questions. If you wish we can talk inside?” Kaladar said pointing back to the building behind them.

Seeing Kami Kaladar arise from the doorway of the lookouts center building was relieving. Of course he would still be there, and yet the irrational fear that he had left, or worse been killed, was ever present in the boys mind. Yet still no Popo followed. His heart felt heavy as the realization that the black genie had likely not survived the encounter with Della, something Saito had not fully considered. Kaladar had only known Saito for the duration of his combat with Kemuri. Popo however had trained with the man the entire day prior. They had spoke over tea, and bonded in the time they were given. The Genie had been a mentor to him from the start. Surely it was foolish to care so much for a creature he had only known for a day, but he had done the same for Sekai, the one whom had passed down the spirit gun to him. Saito had much love in his heart, too much, and it was proving to be a negative trait the longer he let it fester.
He took a deep breath and suppressed the urge to mourn the Genie. What good would it do anyway? Kaladar had known the genie for decades longer, and he seemed unshaken. Perhaps that was the toughness the fuhrer had spoken of. Kit hated the idea of losing his empathy, but if thats what it took to beat monsters like Kemuri, Kaladar would be the perfect trainer. The idea of losing someone important to him, like Ethan, was still unbearable. He had to dull these emotions so that they wouldn't control him in combat. Surely the beasts of the future would demand combat, and knowing Ethan it wouldn't be long until the boy realized what was going on. Saito had been gone for several weeks now, and he couldn't come back empty handed.
"I will follow you Kaladar, Burraddori and I have spoken at length regarding my role to play in the coming years. We must discuss our future as well"
He said stepping forward, his boots crushing into a fragile piece of broken stone. It was still strange having fully covering shoes as opposed to sandles. They certainly were more effective for walking around, and once the warrior became accustomed to fighting in them as well he would surely be even more lethal. Not exactly something he wanted, but it remained a deterrant from combat. Hopefully his new look was intimidating enough to dissuade common rabble from causing trouble. Surely it wouldn't prevent another Kemuri from trying to seize power, but that was why he had taken to the lookout in the first place. He recalled the guardian promising him all the training he could withstand if they were to survive the encounter, and both had. Though Saito was never one to demand payment, now seemed like an appropriate time to remind him. He began walking forward, reaching the older gentlemen, and then walking at his pace back towards the building.
"I understand my behavior was not professional. You must understand the stress that combat put on me. I know there are rituals and practice spars that I must go through to prove my worth here. I would ask however that you follow through on our bargain. I came here that day in search of the lost artifacts of the Crane School. I need to learn the old way. The Fuhrer has discussed plans that will surely take the world by surprise, and I need to be ready when it does Master Kaladar"
They would proceed through the doorway, still speaking. Saito would follow Kaladar to whatever room he saw fit. Perhaps they would head down the stairs and to the same kitchen area that Popo had taken him. Saito could use the caffeine of a nice warm cup of tea. Though his recent affliction had been coffee. Still getting accustomed to his eye patch, the man did have to pause at the doorway for a moment to ensure he didn't walk into the frame. It would certainly be embarrassing to be asking for training from the worlds highest power, and walking into things at the same time. Hopefully Kaladar hadn't noticed the pause, and would still train him even with his vision still adjusting.
It was after that pause that he saw him. The dark figure had only just made it up the stairs. Popo had not used a Sensu bean the way that Saito had, and the natural healing process would take longer for him to fully regenerate his strength. The Genie had simply been slower than the Kami in making his way up the stairs to greet the visitor. Saito's remaining eye swelled for a moment. Kit was pleased that the two were in the darker part of the hallway for it as he really didn't want to cry in front of Kaladar, again. He couldn't help expressing his joy, a broken exhale leaving his chest and a near whisper of the man's name.
"Mr. Popo"
Trying to avoid any obvious bandages Saito stepped forward and hugged the Genie, likely to his surprise. Maybe Popo hadn't bonded as much to Saito, but certainly this came as a relief to the man. He felt like a boy for a moment as a single tear left the side of his eye and quickly hit the dusty ground of the lookout. Kit wouldn't let another fall. As quickly as he had hugged the Genie, he was back to standing straight up. his hand coming up to wipe the remaining mist from his eye. Now Popo too could witness the hideous scaring over the man's face. The monster had ripped through his cheek and up towards his eye, which was at least covered with an actual eye patch. His lip had been caught in it as well creating a long swollen scar the color of his skin. It had healed just a little lighter than the rest of his face and so the scar stood out. Hardly able to contain himself Saito spoke again. Ensuring that as little crack left his throat as possible. He was nearly 28 years old for Gods sake, he had to stop with the tears. Hopefully those would be the last he would shed on the matter.
"I'm sorry, its just...I knew you had made it. Not everyone did but I knew you hadn't fallen."

Kaladar was pleased to hear that Saito would talk with him about what went on and about the future. He was also glad to hear that Saito had talked to the king about everything. This young man was proving himself and it would be only a matter of time before he would be Earth’s greatest defender. Kaladar motioned for Saito to follow him. The two began to make their way to the building in the center of the Lookout. As Kaladar looked around the lookout, he saw pieces of the marble flooring still destroyed from the combat. It was upsetting to see some parts of his home in pieces, but he was glad the majority of the fighting took place here rather than in the city.
Burradori and Kaladar didn’t see Kemuri’s betrayal coming, but Kaladar was glad they could keep the fighting away from innocent lives. Too many people lost their lives in that battle, there was no need for anymore. He could hear Saito’s pace begin to quicken and slow down as he caught up to him. When the boy matched his pace he began to speak.
Kaladar listened to every word that came out of the boys mouth. It put a smile on Kaladar’s face at his words, and of course Kaladar had not forgotten his deal he had made with Saito before everything happened. “I have not forgotten what I told you Saito. In due time you will know the everything that I can teach you. You have proven yourself already. Standing against Kemuri and staying was more than enough for me.” Kaladar said leading the boy into the building.
Kaladar would lead Saito through the building still talking to him along the way. Before he could begin training the boy, he needed to show him something. There is no doubt that he believes that Popo perished during his combat. Popo was the first person that the boy talked to and was the reason that Kaladar was going to train him in the first place. Before he could take him down to see Mr. Popo, Popo had made his way to the top of the stairs. Kaladar stepped aside and let the boy see that Mr. Popo was alive and well.
All Saito said was his name and nothing else for the time being. Kaladar could tell that he was glad to see the genie alive after all the fighting. Saito stepped forward and hugged the genie. Kaladar just smiled as he watched Popo pat Saito on the back a couple of times. When the boy backed away, wiped his eyes, and began to speak again. Kaladar and Popo saw the physical damage that Kemuri had done to him. They remained silent and let the boy speak.
“Yes Saito, I survived my encounter with the other Genie. I am glad to see that you have survived your encounter With Kemuri as well. Kaladar has informed me of everything that happened.” Popo said giving the boy a smile.
“Well, no doubt we have a lot to talk about, lets make our way down stairs and enjoy a cup of tea. Once we are there we can begin discussing the necessary steps to your training Saito.” Kaladar said motioning for Saito and Mr. Popo to follow him down into the Lookout.

Saito nodded in agreement. The reunion was nice, but there was much work still needing to be done. If Kaladar and the Fuhrer had the relationship Saito expected they did, Kaladar already knew that in a matter of months the Earth would have a new leader. Seeing as their most recent new leader was less than stable it would require a sincere defense that could actually hold its own in the event a less than savory character were to try and usurp the throne. As the three descended to the first room Saito had entered, the one where Popo had given him tea and clarified a few of his initial questions, Saito took a seat, watching the Kami prepare their drinks. He wouldn't waste any time getting straight to business.
"Kami, as you should know by now I did not have a very traditional upbringing. My father taught me nothing of the outside world. My biggest disadvantage comes from ignorance. I need to know what we can expect in the coming months. When Fuhrer Buradorri steps down, how will a new leader be chosen. How can we ensure that another Kemuri isn't put into power?"
The political game was not something the warrior had ever been versed in. He had been taught to fight in many different ways. He could recant the names of ancient masters and their fighting styles. He could not however explain parliamentary procedure. His eye darted from Popo to Kami, wanting to keep them both in his peripheral vision. A difficult task for his sole eye. Saito leaned back in his seat, pulling the case of his blade out to his left so that it would fall to his side rather than jabbing him as he sat. Kemuri's blade still lingered with the feint energy of its previous owner. It was powerful, and Saito had yet to fully tame it. He hoped during his time with the Fuhrer he would be able to convert the blade to his own signature, but for that he would need to command a greater power than he had now. Another topic he wished to discuss. There was an itching in his chest, one that he had felt since his battle against Kemuri. If anyone would know the feeling, it would be Kaladar. The man had himself awakened a power that Saito had not yet been able to access.
"There is...something else. My own energy feels...caged. I feel like there is something inside of me fighting to get out...Like I don't have the control to yet harness it. This energy reminds me of my focus state...but it is stronger than that. When I think of it my heart races, my muscles tense in anticipation. But I cannot bring myself to use it. I can feel its presence and yet I cannot use it."
Saito knew he was close to something. If Kemuri could harness a power of over five hundred thousand, why couldn't Saito? While training was necessary, he had found that his direct encounters had brought him an endlessly greater energy. In his short time on the lookout Saito had doubled his Power level, and yet he had fought without only three individuals. The late brandon, Popo, and then Kemuri. If Kaladar knew how to unlock this energy, he would heed every word that left his mouth.

Making his way down the stairs, Kaladar knew Saito and Popo were right behind him. Entering the first room Kaladar motioned for Saito and Popo to take a seat. Kaladar took a few minutes to prepare the tea, as he listened to Saito speak. The boy was curious about who was going to become the next Leader of Earth when Buradorri steps down. To be honest Kaladar didn’t have an answer to the boys question. Even he didn’t know who was going to become the next Leader of Earth. All he knew was that he will stand by that person.
All Kami knew was it was going to be up to the people of Earth who will lead them next. Placing the drinks on the table, Kaladar handed them out to each participant. Taking a sip, placing the cup back down on the table. “Honestly Saito I do not know what exactly to expect in the upcoming months. Buradorri stepping down is going to be a shock to everyone and I am sure everyone in the universe is going to want to take his place. All I can tell you is that it is going to be up to the people of Earth to choose a new leader. People like you, will have a hand in choosing the next Leader of this planet.” Kaladar said taking another sip of his tea.
“To add in, Saito I do not believe there is a way to make sure the next leader isn’t just going to be another Kemuri or they could be worse. I just hope the People of Earth make the right decision.” Popo added in.
Kaladar was going to add something else in, but the boy began to speak again, he would remember his thought for a latter point in time. This time it was about his own power. Saito stated that his energy feels caged, like there was something inside him that wanted to be let out. Kaladar thought back to the fighting on the Lookout. He noticed the same thing in Azazel, she released whatever she was trying to hold back and it changed her. He wasn’t surprised to hear this from Saito. The boy seemed to know little about ki and how it worked.
“Well where can I start. If you remember back, the demon girl known as Azazel. You probably remember her changing before she attacked Anri. If I am correct she reached a new level of power, she probably felt the same thing that you are feeling. I can’t be too certain about that.” Kaladar said taking yet another sip of tea.
“You are human like myself Saito. We are capable of great things, reaching great heights in power that we would have originally thought unobtainable. As of right now I am the second strongest human on the planet behind the king, but I know someday that will change.” Kaladar paused for a brief moment. “I believe what you are feeling is something similar to what I felt many decades ago. You are reaching a new level of strength. A new strength that will help you in the future should you need it. As you saw with Kemuri, his power was probably greater than anything you have felt before.” Kaladar paused once again, he hoped that he was explaining it to the boy in manner that he could understand.
“I hope that what I am saying to you makes sense, but I believe once you have reached that level you will understand better. You will only reach that level through training, it is the only way that I have found. I have attained such a level and I will help you reach the same or even higher.” Kaladar said looking at Saito.

Though Kami had misunderstood his first question, he had still answered it. Buraddorri had said the people would be given the power to choose, and voting made sense. Though Saito had little experience with voting, the idea was not so difficult to understand that he could not grasp it. People were good in nature as far as Saito believed, and so it wasn't likely an evil being would find its way into the position again. Given the choice most people would vote a human in over an alien, which already narrowed the selection of evil down to at least something domestic and manageable. Kaladar was equally as in the dark as anyone, which seemed a little out of character for an omnificent, almost God like, individual. Saito wouldn't press any further as far as the election was concerned. His role in it was to protect the outcome, not determine it. Had Kemuri not turned so heinously, no one would have suspected a thing, so it was reasonable to say that anyone could put on a friendly act for an election.
What interested him more however was the declaration that the Fuhrer and Kaladar were the two strongest human's on the planet. If that was true, it meant there was only one logical third. Not wanting to jump to any conclusions Saito continued listening, his thoughts however were still distracted by the idea that he was likely one of the strongest human beings on the planet. He certainly hadn't met a human other than Buraddorri or Kaladar he couldn't best in combat. His physical abilities had always been top notch and the more he learned about Ki the stronger he became. Subsequently, he had held his own with Kemuri for some time, and although he certainly wasn't about to suggest he was close to Kaladar, he wasn't necessarily far behind. With his continued dedication in the ways of Ki manipulation he truly could make progress and rival that of Kaladar, or even the Fuhrer whose power seemed to dwarf everyone’s. Kaladar was also informative in regards to his final query. Obviously there was more to be done, more power left untapped. His blood was rushing, his heart racing. The more he talked about the power the more it begged to be unleashed. Kaladar spoke of it as a spectacular and very attainable goal.
Even that explanation came with a cautionary tale, one Saito had not even stopped to consider. Az was dead. The woman he had welcomed into his dojo only a few weeks prior, and the only other warrior who stood in true defense of the Earth, had perished in the battle. How it had happened was always a mystery and something Saito hadn't stopped to consider. If he were to take Kaladar's word, it would almost appear as though the power that she obtained consumed her, and that wasn't something that Kit wanted for himself. She had been so kind and genuine, and to think that the swirling energy within him could beget a monster of uncontrollable force was nerve shaking to say the least.
"Master Kaladar, as I mentioned earlier the Fuhrer has agreed to oversee my training, but this I fear is not enough. If I am truly going to harness my power I do not want to follow in the path of my colleague. She clearly lacked the discipline to control such a power and it consumed her. The time is nearing, but body tells me every day. I need to learn how to control such an unstable power. I have rebuilt the Crane school, I can surely help with the lookout. Please, help me to reach and maintain this energy."
Saito was asking much. Not only did he intend to learn the ancient crane style techniques, he was also entirely intent on building his power to that of Kaladar's own output. Now that he knew such a power was there he couldn't allow it to stay dormant. He also couldn't allow it to take over his mind. God forbid Saito became the very evil he sought to defend against. The tea that Kaladar had brewed and placed before him was still steaming feverishly and finally caught the warrior’s attention. He had been so involved in thought that the tea had slipped under his radar. He clasped the cup gently and brought it to his lips, keeping eye contact with the guardian as he drank.

Kaladar was enjoying the tea, while he waited for Saito to take in everything that he told him. He felt bad not giving him more information, but he was in the same boat. The one that would be better to talk to about it would be the king. Kaladar was going to have to make sure to talk to the king once they were done here. He needed to know what was going on, in order to prepare for the future. Finishing his cu of tea Kaladar looked across the table at Mr. Popo.
“We need to talk to the king about the election Mr. Popo. We need to know what he intends to do with it. Once we are done here with Saito, we will make our way over to the palace.”
“I agree Kami, we need to find out more information for ourselves and to give Saito.”
As the boy began to speak, he once again went on about his power and that he was worried about not being able to control it. He wished not to follow in the path of his colleague, Kaladar knew he was talking about Azazel and that her power was too much for her to handle. The only people that truly knew how she died were Mr. Popo, Jenn and Kaladar himself. HE debated to telling the boy exactly what happened to the women, but he figured to leave it alone for now.
“there were different reasons for why your colleague died Saito. I can tell you that it wasn’t because of the power that she had unlocked. I believe that she had control over the power that she had obtained, but something else went wrong during the fighting and that is why she is no longer with us.” Kaladar paused for a brief moment. “I believe that you have the power to stay in control of this new power that is inside you. Kaladar said
He was trying to reassure Saito that everything was going to be alright. The boy was close to reaching a level that only few had reached before. Kaladar knew that as of this current moment Saito was the third strongest human on the planet. Saito needed to be sure of himself and be sure that he could handle unlocking the power inside him. Kaladar watched as Saito began to drink his tea.
“it may seem hard to believe right now Saito, but you will be able to handle it when the time come. I once felt the same way you are feeling right now. It took me some time, but I was able to be in control of my power and be able to use it for good. I have protected the people of this planet for a very long time. I intend to protect and keep training warriors that want it.” Kaladar said

He nodded along with the Kami's talking. He could try to convince Saito that the new power Az obtained had not done her in, but the woman he had met showed no signs of bloodlust or aggression. She had a purpose, and given time could have eventually found what she was looking for. Instead however her energy pressured her to fight. Though Kami believed Saito knew not of what happened, he had been on the lookout. He had felt Anri's power fall to the unyielding might of the demon woman. He had felt Della and Az sparring off in the distance. He also knew that of the two woman, only one of them had shown mercy that day. Popo yet lived while Anri did not. Az was an entirely different being with her power. She was far more driven to find more finite answers. Her fight with Anri couldn't have ended with one alive, nor could her fight with Della. These were choices Az had to have made. Kaladar had been there to the bitter end, and it was likely that he knew more of the story than Saito did. That said, it didn't take a brilliant man to see that Az had changed.
It was calming however to hear that the guardian believed Saito could handle his own potential. The energy that begged for release wasn't ready to show itself, but it pounded in his chest. He felt it more than he could feel his own beating heart. Something in his fight with Kemuri had awakened it, and Saito would surely find out exactly how to pull his energy out of its cage. He set his now empty tea up back down on the table, now more sure of his path than ever before. Reaching into his leather jacket he pulled out a page he had taken from the Former Crane masters diary. It described techniques that Saito knew to exist. He had to follow up with Kaladar to ensure they were on the same page before he left.
"Kikoho, the Tri Beam. Taiyoken, the Solar Flare. Dodonpa, the Dodon ray. These are the styles I seek to reawaken. I know you learned these Kaladar. I am not certain how, but you your time here on Earth you once learned from the Crane. In the days it stood strong you learned these, their master's techniques. Master Kaladar if I am to be the Master of the Crane School and more importantly a defender of our planet, I must learn these techniques. You must pass them down to me. With Carla..."
No, he had chosen his words wisely up until now. His feelings towards the child Kaladar chose to teach were less than forgiving. Though only a child the Guardian had willed her a powerful technique, one that deserved reverence and respect. The girl had used the Dodonpa as though it were a toy. A series of blasts to be carelessly thrown at an opponent. An opponent whom had not attacked her first no less. An opponent whom was in the midst of surrender. She dishonored the attack and her master. This had no business in their conversation, and the warrior regretted using her name the instance it was let out. His fists clenched, the bottom of the paper he held crumpling. He no longer needed it after all, he knew their names. He brought it merely to see if there was more to their existance here. He had wondered for too long how the Kami had come across these techniques.
"Apologies, your choice in student is none of my business. I only hope that you will consider me a worthy vessel for these techniques. Perhaps even enlighten me as to how you came across them. Even as the guardian of Earth, someone had to teach you. Were you his final student Master Kaladar?"

Kaladar could see that the boy still had some doubt that he could handle this new power that he is close to unlocking. Kaladar understood what the Saito was going through and how he was feeling. He was going to have to go through it. It is the only way, there is no turning back unless he gave up everything right now. Which from what Kaladar has seen, is not in the boys nature. Kaladar fully believed that Saito could handle what was coming for him and could handle whatever was thrown at him in the future. He just needed to believe in himself a little more and it would all be clear.
“You believe in Saito that much don’t you Kami?” Popo said to Kaladar
“I do and I have no reason not too. The boy has proven himself so far and has done more for this planet then others have. The last student that I decided to teach left the planet and seemed to attack someone with no remorse. Saito will be a true defender of Earth. I do not know if he would want to become the next Guardian, but he will definitely be someone that will defend this planet in a time of need.” Kaladar replied
“I am glad to hear that Kami, it is good to know hopefully there is someone that will defend Earth if needed.” Popo said
Kaladar noticed Saito reach into his jacket and pull out a piece of paper. The paper looked old. Kaladar wondered what Saito was about to read off, but when Saito started he knew. As Saito went through the moves, Kaladar knew what Saito was getting at. These were the secret techniques that Saito wanted to learn when they first meet. He knew the boy was trying to reopen the Crane school where those techniques were originally taught.
Kaladar remembered back to his younger days when was a student at that school. It took him a very long time to learn each attack. Kaladar knew that if anyone was going to be able to learn all three like he had done, that it would be Saito. He listened to Saito go on about how he needed to learn these techniques in order to become Master of the Crane School. Saito stopped speaking after he mentioned Carla, Kaladar’s previous student. Kaladar had taught her one of the master techniques and didn’t turn out to be the person he thought she was.
Waiting for Kaladar to speak. “Carla was a good student at first, but something happened. I still think I choose the right person to teach one of those master techniques. As I believe that you deserve to learn them as well. Let me be the one to tell you that it is going to take time for you to learn all of them, if that is your dream.” Kami said pausing for a brief moment.
“To answer your last question, I was one of his last students. I was the only one to learn all three techniques. It took a long time, but in the end it was worth it. I believe you have the strength to have the ability to learn all three, but it is going to take time. If you think you are ready we can begin immediately.” Kaladar said looking at Saito

The last student. Kaladar was truly a marvel. The crane master of the past had died nearly thirty years ago, and his students had left decades before. Kaladar being the last student not only made sense but also explained entirely how he had learned the ancient techniques of the crane. Listening to Kaladar's explanation about Carla had been completely overshadowed by this revelation. He believed his choice was just, and Saito had stopped mid sentence for that very reason. The elder was entitled to choose his own students, and being able to predict human behavior took much skill and a bit of luck. At times even the brightest students could fall to temptation, children especially. Kaladar couldn't be blamed for Carla's outburst. Actually it was a credit to her lack of training. Kemuri had forced Kaladar to let his students seriously fight before they were ready. The result was disappointing. Surely Kaladar didn't need to be reminded that the potention that Carla had was undoubtedly derailed by Kemuri's rampage.
"Kami, It would bring me no greater pleasure to begin my training today...I have one final piece of business that demands my immediate attention. I have been far removed from my home for far too long. I must see to my dojo"
And my brother
He thought, holding back the personal shame he felt for leaving the boy alone for so long. Ethan was more than capable of taking care of himself. But he also seemed to idolize Kit. Not knowing where he was probably brought the boy great stress, and Saito truly felt terrible for it. He had been selfish, which was not normally in his nature. Kami didn't need to know that. His family business was his own, and frankly the Guardian was very well knowing, he probably already knew about the elder brother. Kemuri had known more about Kit than he had thought possible. The mutt had an understanding of his father and the compound. If Kaladar knew even half of that he already knew how disturbing Saito's view of the world was until recently. Ethan was no different.
"I will return as soon as I am able. I know these techniques will take time to master, but I fully intend to learn each of them. I will think carefully on which technique will be my focus. Thank you for your hospitality Master Kaladar"
He hated to end so abrubtly. In all honesty he was very interested in learning the history of Kaladar's time on the lookout. His later encounter with Della would only drive this intrigue. For now however the only thoughts that occupied his mind were returning home. He had solidified his training regiment and would see to it that each phase was met with his complete endurance. Three days a week he would train with Kaladar on the Lookout, if the Kami would have him. Twice weekly he would train with the Fuhrer, and the remaining days would be focused primarily on his own physical training at the dojo. Saito would tackle his hidden power, and soon. He would linger a moment to ensure that Kami was able to speak his final words. Being rude and leaving instantly was out of his style.

Kaladar waited for Saito to respond about his training. He knew the boy was eager to learn the master techniques, but he would understand if there were other matters that he wanted to take care of before this started. Saito explained that he would have loved to start training now, but he needed to go back to his Dojo immediately. Kaladar understood, it probably had been some time since he has been back there. Kaladar knew that even if Saito left for a little while, that he would be back. Saito wasn’t going to pass up this opportunity.
“That is fine Saito, take all the time you need. I will still be here when you return, whenever that may be.” Kaladar said to Saito
Saito went on to explain that he will return as soon as he can to begin his training. Kaladar nodded his head in approval. He was also eager to see just how much the boy could handle. He was saw most of his abilities in the fight against Kemuri, but this time was going to be different. He would be experiencing everything first hand. Kaladar was interested to see just how far Saito was willing to go to complete everything his heats desired. Saito had heart and determination, two very good qualities if he was going to try to learn all three Master techniques of the Crane school.
We will await your return Saito Kito. Take care of whatever it is that you need to and make your way back to us. I am sure the time you spend with Kami will be one of the greatest learning experiences that you have ever had.” Popo said
“Like I said before we will wait here for your return. There are still a few things we need to take care of around here, but when you come back we will begin.” Kaladar said to Saito Speaking to Kami telepathically “I think Saito will be your first student that will learn all three Kami. He is the only one that I have seen so determined to learn them. Let us hope that he sticks with it.” Popo said
“Saito will keep coming back here for as long as it takes, that is the kind of person I believe him to be. He wants to reopen the Crane school and to do that he is going to need all three. It is going to be a hard journey for the boy, but I am sure he can do it. He reminds me of a much younger me, and for that I know he will complete his training here. He will move on to be one of Earth’s greatest defenders.” Kaladar said
