I was wondering, what if we turned the Item Shop into a more real-world type market, in the sense that players may "invent" items ICly. The item would be treated as New Custom Techniques are and discussed between the staff. The player doesn't necessarily have to explain HOW it was invented, just what it IS and how it works. What does it do? This way, the item shop becomes much richer and is potentially filled with new gadgets and gizmos. Furthermore, and this is entirely up to the staff, but perhaps members could actually yield a percentage of the zeni gained by real-time purchases. For example: lets assume I invented the scouter -there was never a scouter in the item shop. Every time a player buys this new item, I receive a portion of the 2000 zeni paid, say... 50%. So if Zasham buys a scouter now, I receive 1000 zeni for bringing that scouter into the game. It adds a whole new dynamic to the game and makes the players more involved. Now, I would personally not mind if there was no profit at all. That's just a bonus. What I'm really going for is being able to invent an item ICly and have it become available as part of the game mechanics. I'd still have to purchase it, but it's there. Thoughts?

As a member I like this idea, but staff will have to discuss of course.
As for my personal comments I am not fond of the getting a share of "profits" idea simply because it would hurt the site economy, but other than that I love it!

I still think there needs to be an item to boost zeni gains, like training weights boost pl gains. Would even be happy if the said item reduces PL like the weights do.
That being said, I like the idea of custom items.

Plus something that boosts pl AND zeni gains while on it = win. Also, I like this idea, but I would suggest that if there was to be a bonus thing for profit sharing or whatnot, that it be more like 10-20% tops.
Not that I think there should be, but that would be more reasonable than 50%

I agree with everything Conri said above. Zeni is really a way of enhancing your PL-gaining abilities or doing miscellaneous things like free travel and planets. The fact that it takes a while to gain somewhat offsets its amazing long-term effects. Making Zeni easier to get would be kinda cheap.

Seems we got a bit off track and it stunted the conversation. As of right now there are no plans to add an 'Amulet Coin' type item to the Item Shop.
As for Player Made items, I believe it is a novel idea, though it will need more support from fellow handlers to take off. Does anyone else have comments regarding this, or, if we can get down to the brass tax, does anyone have any potential submissions for an item?
Man posted a good deal about an advanced Simulator in a recent training thread. Zeke contacted me about a 'Survival' Suit of sorts. Any other ideas? Or would the two like to elaborate more? Perhaps it will encourage others to share any interesting thoughts on the subject.

Can the customs items we come up with just be obtained via rp? Because I have a few ideas I do not wish for other members to aquire. Due to the fact they are strictly for Rokujo and are apart of his story.

Krow, unless you had an item you wanted to make and sell to other players for Zeni in this RP, well, then the swords which you made uniquely for your character would not be buy able or be something that others could create for themselves. This item buying and selling system for players is still in the works as the staff has said. For now, the only items people can acquire universally with Zeni are those found in the Item shop.

If you guys are interested in learning about the advanced Simulator idea, read this training thread: dragonballawakening.proboards.com/thread/645/free-zeniTurns out our current simulators can also recreate places, not just fighters. But the issue still applies. The only way we can achieve the most effective solo is by fighting another character or doing boring push-ups. However, with this new and advanced simulator used in tandem with a Gravity Chamber, you can roam the outside as if you increased the gravity of the entire planet and go on mini adventures. Sure, technically your character never went on an adventure in the first place, but he/she can still grow in-character as people do when reading books.
