"Senpai Sonya?"
One of the boys finally spoke. Their silence had been eerie within the bunker of the Dojo. They would be able to survive any basic fallout, but what lingered above them was anything but basic. The Saiyans that had gathered were strong,, and though the students couldn't sense it, Sonya and Itan could. They shook at the very idea of such power existing. More importantly they shook at the concept that Master Kito's power was among the more average up above them. Average. Yes there were fighters around Sonya's level, but the average power level seemed to gravitate at just slightly above Saito's energy signature. The strongest among them was more than double it.
"I know, I can feel it too. Just try and block it out"
The aura. It was the aura of Akassa Hattori, and while the teens around them couldn't understand its vibrations within their skin, Sonya knew exactly what it was. Itan sat in silence, his mind focused on the task of shielding the bunker. There was little his shield could do against such a massive force and after a few minutes the author in a frustrated rage stood, his shield instantly turning off. Sonya looked to him with a fearful anger, but Itan wouldn't have her attitude. The last time this had happened they had formed a plan. They had taken the time to determine the weakness of their enemy, and bought Master Kito precious time. He had actually done something. Sitting in a dark bunker and waiting to die was ludicrous. He opened the door, and immediately Sonya's energy flared.
"Itan what the hell do you think you are doing!"
She asked incredulously, the entire room staring a hole in his back. He wouldn't turn around....he couldn't turn around. He knew what he was doing was right, despite their fear. He needed to help somehow. If that meant taking on the weakest signature present, or preventing Ethar or Carla from doing something stupid, that is what he would do. His response was cold, precise and quick.
"Anything but this."
With that he took a step out of the bunker, closing the door behind him. Sonya had wanted to follow, but Master Kito had given explicit instructions to her. Itan had not been given such a specific directive. He was not a senior student, and he was not bound by any means of hers to stay hidden below. Entering from the hidden stairwell beneath the training room he heard the beeping almost instantly. The computers whizzed about in a warning beacon he had heard several times before. Saito hadn't, nor had Ethan or Sonya. Even if they had it would have meant nothing to them. Itan however had served on a military vessel. They were under attack. No, not by Akassa and her crew, but by another force. The moniters reported the incidents. A cluster of ships floating just outside of the Earth's orbit. His heart stopped, a shelling like that would decimate the entire planet. After a pause it became clear what he had to do.
Akassa Hattori was doing the very same thing Tundra would do in all of his invasions. He would take his top soldiers alongside him and demand surrender. When the inevitable conflict would arise his men would destroy the planet, while his lesser pions began the invasion. Above the Earth were those very pions... There was no legitimate threat in the ships above. Surely Earth had their own military defense force that would hopefully deploy, but they too were pawns. The only danger that floated above them lay in the cannons, and those cannons were under the command of someone. It was just a matter of finding out who.
His ship had been cloaked for some time. Saito had allowed it to be parked within the pond, raising the water level to the perfect height. With a press from his belt the small pod began to rise from the water, and without waiting for the drops to finish falling Itan would enter the pod, and lift off from the planet, his cloaking mechanism taking effect once more. The small pod would be nearly invisible, and for those that happened to spot it, would appear to be nothing more than a fleeing civilian. His pod had marked its course however, and in what would only be a few minutes his pod would be in the docking bay of one of these behemoth saiyan ships.
Itan would finally have earned the right to be called a crane student. He would redeem himself. He would stop the cannons.
