As Model Zero foresaw, Earth was full of rebellious humans who sought to overthrow the vile saiyan queen. Humans like Ethan. The android was taking the man back to his ship, the “Soyuz”, which had been docked within a forest near the outskirts of the city. Contrary to its name, the ship was actually rather large, enough to carry two passengers. Entering a code on the ship would enable access to the inside. The hatch opened shortly after and Zero would enter, expecting Ethan to follow. Aboard the Soyuz, there were two bedrooms, a gravity chamber, a simulator, as well as healing tanks. They would pass through the cockpit and into a long hallway that connected all the rooms together, soon enough, they arrived to their destination after one final door.
The entire room was white from ceiling to floor. It was completely empty and the need for controls were removed by an artificial intelligence program which modified their environment upon command. Zero stopped at the center of the chamber and turned to face the human. His eyes narrowed, studying his new ally with a scrutinizing gaze. If Zero weren’t an android, one might have thought he looked troubled. The android started from the blue hair, which seemed to stick out to him the most, and worked his way down. Has he… met Ethan before? Impossible. This was Zero’s first time visiting planet Earth and the only other person he knew who never wore a shirt was a silver-skinned elf back in Lupin IV, Zalam’gar. Still… he couldn’t help but feel like he had known the human before –or someone like him.
“Ethan, have you ever trained under the effects of increased gravitation?” He inquired. After receiving his answer, without taking his eyes off the man, Zero spoke to the computer. “Soyuz, enhance gravity twenty times greater than that of Earth’s.”
Suddenly, the hatch behind Ethan closed as an uprising buzz hummed throughout the room. The computer was warming up. The Soyuz would speak to them in its automated voice, warning them just before activing the increased gravitation. “Activating twenty times gravity in 3… 2…” At the count of one, Model Zero’s long golden hair tightens a moment after, stretching towards the ground as if someone were pulling on it. Clack! His heavy armor constricts, coming together and filling any space which previously existed between him and his body. His face was stern and sullen as always, not a single emotion would break his piercing gaze.

Returning with Zero back to his ship with the promise of an interesting training session and a much needed stretching of his proverbial legs, Ethan approached the spacecraft in the woods, eager to finally have a chance to use something more then a trickle of his energy without the risk of being detected. Having never before seen a space vessel though, at least not a real one anyway, as television programs did not count, the boy was awed both by the apparent complexity and at the same time, simplicity of the vehicles design. Having a mind for technological things, the teens eyes darted over ever control panel, computer consul and visible piece of machinery in sight as they made their was through the ship. The ship wasn't overly large however and within a minute of entering the craft they were now in the gravity simulation chamber. It was much like the one Ethan had constructed for the school months ago, although significantly smaller to fit within the confines of the ship and like also due to some miniaturized technologies. The one Ethan had constructed however was built to accommodate whole classes and for ease of maintenance, it was after all expected to take a beating, and thus it's components had been of a large, robust nature.
"What? Oh yea, it's been a while but I think we can safely do about twenty G's." Ethan replied after the android man asked him if he'd ever experienced increased gravity before. No sooner then did Ethan respond then did Zero address the computer with a voice command and instruct it to increase the gravity in the chamber to the level he'd specified. Knowing what was about to happen, the blue haired boy readied himself, tensing up a little and widening his stance. When the machine did engage though it wasn't like the simulator back at the school which utilized a gentle ramp up of intensity, instead this compact machine was all brute force. Ethan felt like he'd suddenly gotten the wind knocked out of him as the pull engaged. The boy shook visibly as his frame strained to support itself under the immense new weight and the additional mass of his training gear.
"Jeez..." Ethan exclaimed and clenched his fists, trying to acclimate to the pull. "That hits you like a ton of bricks doesn't it?" he added and dragged his gaze from the floor up to Zero. The android was simply staring at him with that same dull expression he'd been wearing since they met, which was kind of creepy but at the same time not unexpected from what Ethan understood to essentially be a machine, all be it an extremely advanced machine.

"Bricks? There are no bricks here." Zero responded. Six months ago, he would have been serious about it, but after being exposed to so many individuals the android had gotten wind of the different dialects they used. If anything, Zero was teasing the human. Usually, people smiled when telling a joke -they called it "social cues" to indicate when someone wasn't being serious. Zero smirked. "Do you need help getting up? If this is too much for you, we can cut it down a bit." he said, looking down at the shirtless man as he struggled to get back up. Honestly, it wasn't fair of him to ridicule the human; after all, even Zero had trouble adjusting to the strenuous effects of gravity when he was starting out. He could tell Ethan hadn't felt twenty times gravity yet, however, Zero had already gone up to seventy times gravity. The android remained on standby, granting the human some time to adapt and get on his feet. "Soyuz, activate the simulator."
Once again, the uprising buzz would hum throughout the room. Their surroundings soon morphed before their eyes and shifted from a small cramped up room to the vast open-sky outdoors. The ground below their feet became rich and white pristine sand without a single contaminant. The sound of waves hit their ears as the water crashed over the shoreline and then back into the sea. The simulator had created an exact replica of the same beach Ethan and Zero met with its clear blue skies and the outskirts of the city within sight. There were few obstacle, just seashells and scattered palm trees over a patch of green grass. The cool breeze kicked in soon after, Zero's long golden hair waved gently to the side, riding the currents of the tropical winds. His red armor glimmered in the sun. He hadn't been able to give the planet a good look because of the rain, but now that he had the chance to gaze at the sky, he discovered that Earth was a lot like his own planet. Except the grass wasn't red.
Zero shifted his gaze back to the human. By now he figured Ethan must have adapted to the intense gravity and unsheathed his saber. The android's sword was just a handle, but upon release, bits of data conglomerate into a phosphorscent green energy blade. His saber emitted a dull droning sound, and it was then that Zero noticed the human was unarmed. His hands were empty and his body had nothing on it but some jeans and gloves; perhaps it was hidden somewhere within his body? "Where's you're weapon?"

It took Ethan a few moments to acclimate himself to the intense pull of the room's gravity generator and to the added mass of his training weights under that pull, but the boy wasn't about to give up before they started just because the gravity didn't ramp up comfortably. No sir, he was going to soldier on and get through this session. As he was straitening himself out though Zero did something unexpected, at first seeming to misunderstand his joke about the room's sudden change and then turning right around and smirking, indicating that he did understand and was returning the joke. It was pleasing to see the robotic man understood humor, their conversations would be horribly boring otherwise. The offer to lower the gravity though was misplaced and Ethan dismissed it with a wave of his hand.
"Nah... I'm good. Just needed a minute.... that came on a lot faster then I'm used to." the blue haired boy replied as he rolled his shoulders and brought a somewhat unsteady hand up to rub his neck. As he was making himself more comfortable Zero continued modifying their environment, activating the chambers environment simulator which in a matter of moments reproduced the beach outside of Metropolis City. The familiar ground was comforting to some extent as Ethan was well acquainted with the beach and attuned to the water beyond. Then once the boy was visibly less strained by the room's pull, Zero prepared himself for their match by pulling out a sword, well the hilt of one anyway, though that alone was enough to worry Ethan. As the blade formed out of some form of green energy the teen backed up a step, he wasn't prepared to fight someone with a sword, especially not after what Ohkara had managed to do to him earlier on the beach.
"What do you mean my weapon?" Ethan responded back to Zero's question, asking where his was. "I don't need a weapon, I am my weapon... Are you telling me you were going to try and hack me up with that pig sticker?" the boy went on to ask.

Just as he unsheathed his saber with one hand, Zero snapped his pistol from its holster with the other, preparing to duel-wield his gun and sword. It was then that the android noticed the human stagger back in response to his movements. Model Zero lowered his weapon and raised an eyebrow at the human, following Ethan's gaze, he was able to discern the source of his worry before he even spoke. "You're going to fight me empty-handed?" The android was truly perplexed by the man's illogical behavior, yet every time he felt most familiar to him. With that said, Zero had never fought with his fist in his entire existence. The first thing to ever touch his hands from the moment of his awakening was the very same gun he held in his left hand, followed by the blade on his right. The closest thing to a fist he had ever inflicted was a kick -from Delashano's Dynamite Kick technique. Zero would argue with the man, claiming that the sword was superior to the fist, but based on the context of their meeting he gathered that Ethan was not at all interested in actually killing Akassa Hattori. The human thought he would just scare her away from his planet and regain their freedom.
And although Zero most certainly disagreed with the man's methods, they were all he had. The last thing the android wanted to do was scare his new ally away and lose his shot at building a potential army of fighters against the saiyan empire. With that in mind, Zero conceded. He would take the path of the silent serpent just like his master would, slowly slithering thoughts of murder into the minds of those who were too pure otherwise. Once Ethan realized that Akassa Hattori would not be swayed with kind words so easily, Zero trusted that he would turn around to the idea of assassinating her. The android wouldn't even have to mention it. The human would realize it on his own...
"Very well," Zero responded, tossing his gun and sword to a nearby patch of grass under the shape of a tree. His saber would soon deactivate, reduced to nothing but a handle. "I have never fought without a weapon, I think it is an inferior tactic, but seeing as you do not have one -there is nothing we can do."
Based on what he had seen, the android balled his fists and raised them just above his chin in what appeared to be a boxing style. His feet however, were completely out of line. Clearly, the android had no technique for hand-to-hand combat. Scanning over the human with his built-in scouter, Zero used his ki suppression abilities to lower his reduce his strength and fight Ethan on equal footing.

Watching the android a little more carefully now, Ethan was even more surprised to see Zero un-holster a gun of some kind. Thankfully the metallic man didn't appear to intend to use it, realizing now that Ethan had expected a hand to hand combat training session, not attempted murder. However as Zero tossed the weapons onto the grass nearby, his comment about hand to hand combat being inferior to weaponized combat ruffled the blue haired boy's proverbial feathers. 'What's he mean inferior? Oh god, look at that stance, this guy doesn't know anything. That'd explain his funky ideas then.' Ethan thought to himself as Zero attempted to take up a fighting stance and though the attempt was laughable, Ethan restrained himself.
"Geez, look at you... Put your arms down. What you really need is a teacher to show you just how effect hand to hand can be." Ethan replied and walked, heavily so, over to the grass where the android's weapons had thudded into the ground and picked the gun up by the barrel, turning to hand it back to Zero. "Here, take this again and I'll show you. Point it at me, you know, be menacing." the boy instructed, carefully marking the distance between them to ensure his plan of action would work.
Assuming Zero did as he instructed, Ethan waited for the android to point his gun and then would, as quickly as he could manage given the intense gravitational pull in the room, twist into a spinning kick with the intention of knocking the android's left arm out to the side with his right leg. Then as soon as his foot hit the ground and while Zero was no doubt attempting to correct, Ethan would launch himself forward into a double knee to the tin man's chest. If Zero lost the gun Ethan would pay the android's arms no heed as he used his momentum to knock the robotic man to the ground and straddle him at the waist. If however he managed to hold onto the gun, Ethan would grab Zero's left wrist with his right hand and ride the android to the ground where he'd make sure to keep the arm pinned. and if all went well that would be all that happened, Ethan would make no more offensive moves other then holding Zero down as he spoke. "See, sometimes you don't even need to use your fists."

Zero was ready to the start the fight, but apparently Ethan had an issue with his posture. The android fixed his arms, lowering them as the human suggested. For the second time, Zero was completely clueless. The first time was when he had to learn how to harness the energy around him. All of his weapons were made by Ivan to compensate for the android's inability to produce energy. His saber and the pistol both generated energy on their own. In fact, they weren't even sure whether an android could manipulate ki at all! It was until Delashano took down the former Arena Master, Vespasian, and founded the Mystic and Martial Arts Academy that Model Zero started to actually understand how it worked. Nearly six months later, the android learned how to form a simple ki blast, fly, sense energy signatures without relying on his scouter, among other techniques. Now, he needed to learn how to fight unarmed.
The blue haired man walked towards the patch of grass and picked up his pistol. Ethan then handed the pistol over to Zero and asked him to act as if he were about to use it. As soon as the gun touched his fingers, without hesitation, Zero removed the safety and aimed the barrel of his gun at the human's head. The gun was so familiar, his movements were so practiced; it all happened within seconds in one swift motion. The android's body turned sideways with feet parallel to each other. His body was completely protected behind the one arm extending out towards Ethan. Yet, within the same fleeting moment that it took him to aim the gun at Ethan's head, the human was already executing a spinning kick that brushed his arm aside. Zero's eye's widened, having not expected the sudden motion. Being an android, his firm grip on the weapon would not falter in the slightest -but Ethan had been prepared for such occasion.
Just as Zero's arm was swept to the side, his torso turned with it, exposing his chest. In a swift follow-through, Ethan heaved onto Zero's chest, planting both knees and riding him into the sand while pinning his left arm down with his right hand. Zero was thoroughly impressed. Despite being new to the gravity, the human had been able to catch him completely off-guard and disable his use of the weapon. Perhaps there are still some things he had yet to learn...
The android's face was stern, as one would expect. "I see, it seems I have underestimated you. My apologies." Zero would wait until the human got off of him before standing back up and tossing his gun back to the patch of grass it had been on previously. His mind would flash back to a distant time when he fought the Champion of the Intergalactic Tournament, Conri Lane. Zero recognized that hand-to-hand combat would have been useful back then, as the blue-haired saiyan had disarmed him in a dark room. Since weapons did not possess an energy signature of its own, the android was forced to flee from the saiyan while blindly trying to listen for his weapons in the dark room. "You have proven me the fool, I would like to learn more about hand-to-hand combat, if you would."

"Heh, no apologies necessary." Ethan replied as he got up off of Zero and backed up a few steps to let the android rise back to his feet. As he did, Ethan was a little surprised to hear Zero confessing that he seemed the fool when faced with something simple like a spin kick. "Aw, now don't talk like that, you're not a fool, just inexperienced is all." Ethan responded and then continued. "It's good that you want to learn it's how we all get better, and you couldn't ask for a better teacher, my brother and I used to run a school in Central City... Well before the Saiyans turned it into a crater. How about we do this, we'll make this whole session today for you. I'll show you what you need in order to defend yourself if you lose that gun or sword again, and at the same time you'll also learn to deal with someone who doesn't use weapons. Sound like a plan?"

Model Zero nodded in agreement. The human had earned credibility in his eyes -not just because of his demonstration, but because he had his own school dedicated for fighting; just like Miss Della back on Alpha Prime and her Mystic and Martial Arts Academy. Delashano was the one who taught Zero how to harness the energy within him. Now, this human was going to teach him how to fight unarmed. The android remained on stand by, awaiting for the man's instructions. He noticed the human sounded somewhat depressed as he spoke of Central City and the demolished school. "The saiyans will soon learn their place, Ethan. Do not fret."
If only he knew. The human probably thought they were on the same page, but in reality they had completely different views. While Ethan could do with simply regaining their planet's autonomy and drive out the saiyan invaders -the android would not stop until every last one of them had been destroyed, including the very moon. Zero closed his fists and prepared himself, trying to emulate Ethan's posture. "I understand your school was destroyed, but why did you stop teaching?"

“Hah! Yeah, their place isn’t here, that’s for sure.” Ethan laughed after Zero commented that the Saiyans would soon be put in their place. What the machine was thinking was right on the money, Ethan wanted only to free his world from their oppressive rule and regardless of any propaganda put forth by the invaders to deny the facts, those experiencing the arrogance of the invaders first hand were well aware of just how oppressive it was. Regardless though Ethan couldn’t think about the righteousness of his cause right now, he had a new pupil, the first in months and he had to make sure the robotic man’s training went well. As the boy was taking up a demo position to illustrate to Zero a proper stance, the android touched on that topic of Ethan not having a school anymore, which spurred the boy onto the topic of discussion.
“I haven’t really had the time, I spent the first month just setting up my organization. To tell the truth, this is the first time I’ve had a real training session in some time, most of it has been basic workouts with my power suppressed as far as I can make it.” Ethan replied and brought his arms up into a defensive posture.
“But on the subject of teaching, I’m teaching you now aren’t I?” the boy added with a smirk. “Now, look at my posture here, one leg leading, one trailing, it’s a pretty standard starting pose and will make it easier for you to move. You can either lunge forward or backward from this pose and the wider distribution of your weight will help you stay on your feet if someone does hit you. Now look at my body, I’m not facing you directly, more of my left side is facing you then my front. This makes you a smaller target and also sets you up to both attack and defend with easy motions.”

As instructed, Model Zero led with his right leg and trailed with his left. He would mirror the blue-haired human, leaving most of his right side facing him while the rest was hidden behind him. "I see, it is similar to wielding a sword." The android commented. The position of his feet were not much different, so he was familiar with the act of lunging forward or back. Of course, the one and biggest difference thus far was the fact that he no longer had the blade of his sword in-between him and his opponent. In a sword fight, one's hands would grab the hilt of the sword and hold it so the pommel of the blade was just above their waistline. The sword would point up, towards the sky; if the opponent tried to charge at him, they would run into the blade. In a fist fight, however, Zero did not possess that kind of protection.
Suddenly, the android would ask the human another question which was unrelated to the training session. "Ethan, I'm curious. What makes you different from other humans?" his face was emotionless as ever. ""I surveyed Metropolis City. I can't speak for the rest of Earth's population, but many citizens didn't seem to mind Queen Akassa's invasion. Don't misunderstand, but, if the saiyan empire promises to protect Earth, what do you fight for?"
For an android, the question seemed to make perfect sense. Zero's purpose was to annihilate the saiyan race -of course, he wouldn't reveal that much to someone he just met. On the other hand, what Queen Akassa offered them was true; perhaps her methods were incorrect, but they were true none-the-less. Earth was safer now. And as long as they respected their new queen, they would move on with their lives as was before. The attacks that had taken place were no different from human terrorists who damaged their own homes. Furthermore, thanks to a book called Groundbreaking Science -he discovered-, the general public understanding of ki control, turned the human race into a capable one, allowing them to contend on a galactic level as they previously had not. In other words, any saiyans living on Earth were as much a threat as their next neighbor. In a way, logically, there was no reason for Ethan to rebel against the saiyan empire.

"Yeah, I guess." Ethan replied as he watched Zero take a pose the exact mirror of his own. "I don't really deal with swords that much but some of the principals are the same." the boy continued and then listened as the mechanical man asked a question that belied just how ignorant he was in some fields, the android wanted to know why Ethan was different, when in fact he should have been asking why so many others were apathetic, clearly Zero did not understand the concept of freedom or it hadn't been taken from him yet. The question also brought another subject to light, Ethan's organization it's self and Zero's assumption about how many people cared and did not care.
"Well, I though you've got that a little backwards there. I'm not different at all, you see, whether they know it or not, everyone wants to be free, but when faced with overwhelming odds, some people let fear control them, overriding their desire for freedom, I don't and neither do a majority of the people on Earth. That is also where you're a little off. You see only me and a few others speaking out vocally, but what you don't see if the network of spies we've been building. And don't forget, in FREE's first broadcast we instructed the people not to openly resist, to appear docile and complacent, no matter how much it hurt to do so, in this way the Saiyans will never have a legitimate target. I guarantee, at least 70% of the population is behind us if not more, but we are still organizing, we can't direct everyone yet so they are all remaining quiet. Those who seem to openly welcome the invaders, well those are either agents hamming up their roles to getting in good with the Saiyans, or they are traitors. Either way though we ignore them, we won't get anywhere by executing traitors right now, it would make us just as bad as those who attacked us, worse even since we'd be doing it to our own. We also don't want to accidently kill any of our agents after they get into positions of influence. So really, what you're seeing is just our deception hard at work and doing it's job well." Ethan explained at length, holding his pose in the heavy gravity.
"Ok, back to the subject at hand, or rather your hand, I want you to try and strike me with one of your hands and we'll see what kind of form you have there." the blue haired teen when on. "Thank you can do that?"

The android nodded as the blue-haired man shifted the topic of their discussion back to their training. His words, however, continued to roam within his mind as Zero internalized the ideas he spoke of. Fear. It was a crippling force capable of thawing the spirits of an entire population, and coerced them into listless motion. The people of Earth seemed apathetic because of their bleak views. They did not believe they could do anything to stop the oppressing nation of the Saiyan Imperium, and thus, they opted to distance themselves from reality as a coping mechanism. Ethan, however, although his uniqueness denied, was undoubtedly different. He and all those who dared to dream of a future beyond their shackles, those who were not stilled by their trembling breaths, they were a notch above the rest.
With that said, Zero could not yet understand or appreciate the notion of freedom. He had never lost it, but he had never met it either. The android was faithfully bounded to his master and creator, he knew of no other purpose than to serve the scientist. Regardless, he couldn't help but hear the echo of that namekian from his visions. He couldn't help but remember the words he spoke, the words Ivan spoke across the dining table: "It is the select few who win their freedom." It was as if Zero had gained a slight insight into the meaning behind those words, but he still understood nothing.
Model Zero clenched his fists and solidified his stance. His eyes were locked on the human before him, cold and calculated as before. All he had to do was try to hit him. Cocking his fist back, the android closed his eyes and envisioned the movements. Something was odd about his stance, almost as if it had been practiced before -as if his body remembered something he himself could not. He opened his eyes. Shifting his weight over his leading leg, Zero used the leg as a pivot to bring his trailing leg to the front, similar to how he would while wielding a sword; however, the steps were wider and somewhat more flexible. As he took that first step forward, he carried his cocked fist along for the ride, attempting to drive it into Ethan's gut along with the power and momentum of his being. By the end of his execution, his posture would have been completely inverted. Right leg leading, left leg trailing, and his right arm was extended towards the human. The rest of his body was hidden behind the punch, reducing his exposure to Ethan's attacks as the human had instructed previously.

Having set the android strait on the facts, that most of Earth’s population was behind him, at least hoping he’d done so, Ethan had moved back to their lesson, to teach the mechanical man how to fight without his weapons. So far it was going quite well, Zero was picking things up quickly, mirroring his stance and recognizing, more or less, the reasons for certain bodily positions and movements. Now it was time to actually see if the android could even throw a punch and so after having invited his red armored training partner to strike him, Ethan maintained his ready stance and waited to see just what the other would do.
Ethan truly wasn’t expecting too much from the android on his first attempt, even as the mechanical man drew back his fist, the shirtless teen thought that he launch at best a decently coordinated jab at his face, which of course the boy was ready to block. What he got however was a textbook perfect spear right into his unprepared midsection. Ethan had severely underestimated just how quickly Zero was picking things up and further, underestimated the android’s knowledge about human physiology. The punch to the boy’s stomach was devastating, Ethan felt the red armored man’s fist plunge right through his abs and settle deep within his guts, a sharp exhalation accompanying the blow.
Ethan was frozen for a few moments, the shock of the fist sunken up to Zero’s wrist in his stomach slowly rolling through him. Then after a few moments more, the boy’s body started to shudder and then he folded over the android’s extended arm, his chest coming to rest against the upper arm, head hanging just over Zero’s shoulder as a long groan flowed out of him as if someone was deflating a balloon.
“UUUUUuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh……” Ethan groaned, his arms loosing their rigidity as he hung on Zero’s extended arm. ‘Holy crap, where di he learn to throw a punch like that?’ It wasn’t even so much the excellent execution of the punch that so destroyed the boy’s strength, it was the disparity in that strength between them and Ethan’s still present inexperience with the higher gravity, he simply couldn’t react as quickly as he could under normal conditions, else he might have tried to tighten up.

To Zero's surprise, the human had not attempted to evade or block his attack. Instead, Ethan stood his ground and granted him a free shot. Unfortunately for the blue haired man, that was a grave mistake. The android himself had not expected the seamless execution. Honestly, it almost felt as if he had done this sort of thing before, but perhaps that was another reason why androids were superior? Ona would think so. The android's fist dug deep into the man's gut. The human let out an audible groan and began to bend over. Alarmed, thinking it was some kind of ploy to get him off guard, Zero dashed back before Ethan had a chance to lean over his arm. It was then that he realized the man might have been in pain. "Are you okay?" he asked. "Was that punch good enough?"
Gazing over the scene once more, the thought crossed his mind again. He had done this before; the white pristine sand, palm trees, all that was missing were wooden walls and a roof. Glancing to the left, there would have been a tall bald man with his arms crossed over his chest and a sly mischievous grin. Then, there was the shirtless man before him. Suddenly, Zero had bandages over his arm. They had fought -not Ethan and Zero... but them. The android narrowed his eyes as a name approached the tip of his tongue, but it never reached the surface. A single word came to mind. Abuul? Such a name held no meaning to him, at least, not yet. The android wrenched the thought away and refocused on the match before him.
Zero would await until Ethan had gathered his posture before attacking once again. The android remained on standby in the same defensive position as before; leading right leg and arm, trailing left.
