His assessment of her was correct, Akassa was Akassa. The Princess was not the deepest individual to many, perhaps even seeming a bit boring from the outside. Her dedication to her family and New Vegeta tended to take precedence over everything in her life. Undeniably she was a creature of habit and one that would not make a good story teller. Many probably found her boring, but that was fine with her for she was not out to entertain. The strange part was that if anyone took a little more time to learn about her, even spend time with her perhaps they might see the woman that was beneath all of that. Below the calm and serious surface was still a woman with emotions, Celeh probably having gotten the closest to seeing that individual when the two women had relaxed in the Princess’ private quarters. Conri might yet get to see that side of her, he had seen glimpse of it through their conversation, small windows into the woman beneath the Princess.
Doing her part to listen to his answer Akassa remains relaxed on the bench, lifting her right leg to cross it over her left. As he went on to explain his desire to explore the stars, searching for a place that he might truly fit in Akassa found herself not fully understanding. Of course she understood what he was saying, but she did not see the appeal in it. The disconnect between them was most likely due to the fact she had been born into a life with purpose, one that had given her a lifelong goal from the very beginning. The Princess wouldn’t exactly label Conri as lost, but he did seem to be searching. Based on his own jumbled explanation of what he planned to do with his life he wasn’t exactly sure what path his adventures would take him down. The only part that she felt she understood was his desire to carve his own way through life. Akassa did serve the crown unquestioningly, but that didn’t mean she didn’t want to do it her way. There was a reason she strove to be stronger than the rest of her siblings.
”I must admit that I do not fully understand what it is you are looking for Conri, but I do hope you find it. Perhaps you will meet a soul that is in sync with yours out amongst the stars.” As cold as Akassa could be she did still believe in love, after all she loved her family. On a more personal level she did think it was necessarily worth the effort, something like that would just get in the way of her more important duties. Conri on the other hand seemed like the hopeless romantic, a little too flirtatious for his own good. His straying hand had almost cost him on Alpha Prime.
Watching him tap along his chin Akassa knew he had to be thinking of his next question for her. Seeming to be putting more thought into them now she wasn’t sure what he planned to ask, but she would answer it like he had hers. When the question did come she found it to be quite strange. Her first answer was to simply say that she wished she was stronger, yet she figured that is not what he meant. Both of them wanted to get stronger, that was obvious, but he was asking what he might change about herself.
”What would I change about myself if I wanted to? Well, if we are talking something that is truly beyond my control I would make myself a full blooded Saiyan. I would get rid of my human half, my weaker half.” Even as the words left her mouth Akassa herself was a little shocked at them. She had always envied Ninjin for his full blooded nature, wishing that her weaker half, her human half, was something she had the power to change. How different might her life have been if she was born a full blooded Saiyan? As her answer settled in the Princess almost regretted it. If that was truly how she felt then why did she want to meet her mother, the human that had birthed her? Swallowing some Akassa looks back up at him, not having been aware her eyes had lowered towards the ground. Wanting to move on she asks her next question.
”Why do you want to learn more about me? What do you hope to gain from this game of questions?” Akassa seemed almost a little flustered at the moment, having angered herself a little with the rather personal answer she had given. On top of it friendship was still something new to her. Conri no doubt just wanted to understand her more, become friends even, but she was of course looking too far into it. Akassa had yet to learn that not everything needed to have a specific, tangible purpose, sometimes people just wanted to do something simply because they wanted to.

Conri was enjoying himself here, not only was he getting glimpses into who Akassa was on a whole new level, but he was getting glimpses of a side he hadn't seen yet. A smile plastered to his lips as he continued to listen to her, this was more than he could have wished for from this exchange. He liked learning so much about her, even if most others would think that the information he was asking about was nothing important or useful. The Half-Saiyan disagreed with that though, everything he learned about her was important and useful in his mind, simply because it offered him the chance to do things with it. Like plan on throwing her a birthday party, which was something he would have to discuss with someone else as well. These thoughts floated in his mind for a moment, before he focused his attention back to her fully.
She seemed to be be in thought about what he said, or perhaps was simply trying to figure out what it was he actually said, he needed to do that as well. Still, there was nothing set for him and he would need to carve it out himself once he found whatever it was that the universe wanted for him. Whatever it was, it would be grand, he would do something to leave a mark on the universe that would last long after he died of old age or was horribly blown up. Whichever happened to come first, he would guess the latter himself. When she spoke up, he smirked at her response, it was the first time he had heard her say something like that to him. The fact that she hoped he found what he was looking for and that perhaps he would find a soul in sync with his own. He had to admit she was full of surprises for him today, and it was fun to see her show this side.
"Thank you, I hope we both can find whatever it is we need," he figured he would include her as well. Despite that she planned to serve the royal family, there was probably something out in the universe that she needed even if she wasn't looking for it. He had no idea if she was or not, but shouldn't everyone find someone that is in sync with them to spend their lives with? It seemed to be something that should happen for everyone to him, perhaps more so for the Akassa than himself as well.
The answer to the question caught him off guard, not expecting her to consider the human half of her weak, but he supposed he could understand with the way she had grown up. He wondered how many people she had encountered had told her that there was nothing wrong with being a half-saiyan or that she wasn't weaker because of it. Then again maybe it was her own thoughts that led her to that thinking, he had no way of knowing, the thing that really shocked him though was that she turned her eyes to the ground. That was a first, she seemed to be taken aback by her own words, did she really believe them then or was she currently in confusion about herself? Maybe he should try to help her, and he could only think of one way to do that, so he would simply have to make sure that it flowed the right way. Her next question caused a chuckle, he supposed that she would be curious especially after that last question.
"Well, if you want me to be completely honest then I do have something of a motive for getting to know more about you. The simple fact of it is, is that I like you. I'm asking these questions in the hopes of getting to know you better and become friends with you. If things should progress farther than that, then I would be more than happy, however, if not than I will still be happy to be friends with you, Akassa," he used her name to further show that he had no ill-intentions other than to get to know her. Of course, whether she would take that last part badly or not he didn't know. He just figured being fully honest about all of it would be the best way to answer the question. Now it was his own turn to ask a question, this next one would be strange though, especially since it would be a more formal request.
"I would like to ask for permission to do something for you, I don't want to give away what it is, but it would require contact. However, I pledge that my hands will do nothing inappropriate and that I will be a gentleman, I just feel it is important. I also do have another question, but that can wait as well. Do I have permission?" he asked, waiting for her to give an answer about it, but he figure she might be a bit on the defensive if he just tried anything. So he would ask before and he would make sure that she knew it was nothing inappropriate.

Akassa snorts a little as he mentions that he hopes they both find what they need in life. She had wished him the best of luck with it, but the Princess felt that she was already where she was supposed to be. The more she thought about it Akassa figured the role she was in now was the role that she would keep for the rest of her life. Even when her father eventually passed away she planned to serve Ninjin just the same, and god forbid anything happen to him she would serve under Leke. She was older than both of them, but technically ranked under them. Understanding why and how the line of succession worked she was prepared to do her duty no matter what might happen. Conri had all kinds of freedom, while Akassa had little, yet she wouldn’t trade places with him for a second.
Quickly recovering from her moment of weakness she focuses back on him, awaiting his answer with more than a little suspicion. The answer he provided was not what she had expected. In all honesty she had expected him to say he was getting to know her because he was hoping that she might sign on with his organization in the future, perhaps work alongside her. That would have been logical to her for minus Ninjin and Tsuyo, the two of them were the strongest individuals she knew, why wouldn’t he want her working alongside her? His real reason had her swallowing a little. Liked her? If it were to progress farther than just friends? What was he implying; it seemed he was admitting to some sort of attraction to her. Not so comfortable with this sort of situation the Princess seems to tense a little, eyeing him.
His next words had her eyes narrowing a little, unsure what he was talking about. He promised that his hands would do nothing inappropriate, like they had on Alpha Prime. Still, she was hesitant to agree to anything since he said it required contact. Looking at him in silence for several long seconds the Princess hesitates to agree. In the end it was her curiosity that won out, not quite sure what he had in mind but at least willing to entertain the idea and see. Of course if it was really something she didn’t approve of Akassa had the strength to stop him.
”Very well Conri, I give you permission…but so help me if you try anything like your antics on Alpha Prime.” Her tone was serious, yet hidden within it he might be able to pick out her curiosity. This was all quite new to her, the whole scene something she was not familiar with. Not used to being put in such situations Akassa was a little out of her element. Perhaps giving him permission was the wrong choice…but what could he possibly intend to do?

He grinned at the snort, knowing she probably didn't believe in things like the chance of the universe giving you something you needed without your knowing. Granted, he knew how loyal she was to the Royal Family, and that she strived to do the best she could for them in service to her family. However, he believed that it also left little time for her to worry about herself, in which case the universe would have to do that part for her. Then again it could just be that he was crazy, either was equally likely so he couldn't say definitively what would happen.
When she refocused her attention and heard his answer, she seemed to tense up a bit as she eyed him as if not sure what to think about what he had said. Which he supposed could be understandable, she may not exactly feel comfortable with such a straightforward answer, but he didn't feel the need to keep anything from her. Still, that reaction hadn't been quite what he was expecting from her, did that mean she didn't like the idea or was it just something new to her that she wasn't sure of what to do with? Ah well, he did say himself that if she didn't want any part of it, he would be fine being friends with her. Which was true, he wouldn't force anything, but it was interesting to see her suddenly not say anything in regards to his own comment. Had this been the first time someone said that to her?
When she gave him permission, he nodded and uncrossed his legs for the moment before moving forward and wrapping his arms around Akassa to give her a gentle embrace. The fact that her body language and the way she lowered her head after answering the last question, he figured this would be something to help her at least settle. If not, it would anger her and distract her from those thoughts for sure, he wanted to say something to her but he wasn't sure if she would take his words well or not. Screw it, he would just tell her and she could take it how she wanted, she would at least know his own thoughts regarding the issue.
"For what it's worth, I don't think that you being half human makes you weaker," he cut himself off with that, giving her a gentle squeeze before pulling away without another word on the subject. Now it was time for him to ask his actually question to her, and hopefully avoid too big of a backlash.
"What are the five most important things in your life?" wondering if there were things besides her family that she held important to her. He was sure she did, but knowing what they were would be interesting, just to know a bit more about how her mind worked with things.

Her eyes remained on him as he lean towards her some, still unsure of what it was that he intended. The entire time her own arms remained crossed over chest as her leg stayed crossed over the other. When he actually reached for her a slight flinch went through the Princess, more of a defensive reaction to someone coming close to her than out of any fear or surprise. Not used to being touched besides in combat Akassa froze as he embraced her. Feeling his arms pulling her into him a little she does nothing, says nothing as her brain scrambles to find the appropriate response. The hug did not last long before offers his simple statement and let’s go. As he pulls away, sitting back up on the bench he might notice the slight redness in her cheeks.
That was…different. Strangely enough she didn’t feel angry after he touched her, not like when he had crossed a line on Alpha Prime. The slap had been too far for her, but this…this was a sign of friendship, she could sense that. Still it was not something she would say she had been comfortable with, her tenseness a testament to how awkward it had been for her even if she had not rejected it. Reaching up to brush several stray strands of hair from her face Akassa was glad he asks his next question, glad to move past the unexpected gesture.
What were the five most important things in her life? Thinking for several minutes she puts them in order before answer. ”I will list them for you Conri. First and foremost is my family, but I am sure you could have guessed that one. Second are New Vegeta and its people, beyond protecting my family I would give everything to save my home. Third is my strength. I never plan to stop training for in this world whether you like it or not, power is what truly allows you to do what matters to you. Fourth is my body. That may sound a bit odd, but it relates to my third for I have spent countless hours training and conditioning my body. I do not mean to sound selfish with this answer, but I take great pride in my physical condition…that is part of the reason I do not like to be touched. Lastly… I would have to say that…the friends have recently acquired are fifth. Until now I did not recognize the advantage of friendship…besides readily available sparring partners.”
With a slight pause Akassa asks her question, already having had it prepared.
”You told me what you think of Ninjin, but what do you honestly think of me?” It was rare Akassa asked for someone’s opinion of herself, but Conri had so far proven to be honest even if blunt at times. As of lately she had been struggling with her own identity, not feeling like the same warrior she had always been, her recent losses no doubt a part of that. She wanted to know how Conri saw her, how others might see her.

It seemed that his hug had managed to catch Akassa off guard as he could feel her freeze the moment his arms wrapped around her. The strange thing was he was almost expecting to have her smack him for doing that, but instead there was no reaction at all. Had she not been hugged before? Then again it was probably not normal for someone to just come right out and hug her either, so he probably threw a few curve balls her way with that. When he pulled back he could see the blush on her cheeks, but he refrained from saying anything about it in the hopes of having her recover a bit better. He would likely tease her once she was more comfortable with his antics, but not until she knew that he would just be playfully teasing her.
He returns to having his legs cross on top of the bench and facing Akassa as she thinks about his question. As she begins to list them he nods his head, he already guessed that her family was the most important thing to her, that was rather obvious. The next one made sense as well, those two things were her home and her people, so they would need to be important. The third thing caused a smirk to form, he knew that she was strong and planned to continue getting strong, he was pretty sure she had mentioned that to him. At the fourth comment, his eyes seemed to sparkle as a few comments went passing through his head, that he could have said in regards to that, but instead he behaved himself. As the last one was spoken, he smiled and propped his head against his hand and let a soft chuckle escape, it was good to see her discovering what friendship really was about.
The next question caught him a bit off guard now, as she asked him what he thought of her, and she wanted him to be fully honest with her. Well, if he was to do that then he would say everything that he thought and felt about her, since she had openly asked for it. Taking a moment to gather all his thoughts, he nodded carefully as he began to go through them from the beginning.
"I think that you are a beautiful woman that is also loyal almost to a fault at times, but you do have a compassionate side as well, like when you helped me with my father. You're rather easy to talk to despite that you tend to not exactly open up right away with people, but then again, I suppose that might be more with me. You're strong in both personality and physical means, however, there are times when you are a bit too reckless. From what I've seen talking to you, you've got a softer side to you besides what you show others that can be cute. However, and I say this with all the respect I can muster, I believe you put too much stock into what your family thinks of you. I think that since you were raised in the conditions that you told me, that you've been led to believe that your human side makes you weak and whatnot. You seem to have taken that to heart, but I just want to say that your human side makes you who you are just as much as your saiyan side. I..hm, I think that's all I have thought up at the moment, there's more I'm pretty sure but that was what jumped out at me," he scratched his cheek, pretty sure there was more, but for some reason not all of it was coming to mind. He'd probably have to think about it more and try to finish this train of thought. He supposed he was done for now, and he hoped that she wouldn't take some of the things he said to hard.
"Let's see, a question..." he was tempted to ask her what she thought of him, but he might not exactly get the best reviews from his divulging of what he thought of her. Of course, he couldn't be sure what she thought of it either. Oh well, no point in being afraid of the deep end after diving in head first, right?
"Well, what do you think about me?" he supposed that he could always use what she said as a means to let himself grow more as well.

The sparkle in his eye almost had her pausing in her answer, but she ignores it and moves on. Whatever comments or thoughts he might have had were smartly kept to himself. Akassa was being friendly with him; more open than she had planned upon starting this little game, but he knew what happened if he crossed a line. She was capable of handling a little fun, but there were still definite lines that he better not cross. Even if they were to become closer friends through this experience he was far from being able to walk into her quarters and visit her as he pleased, not even Celeh was allowed to enter without permission. His little chuckle at the end would draw a glare from her, even if it was a small one, letting him know that that fifth thing was a serious one to her. Of course she didn’t understand that he found amusement in it only because he was glad she was finally making friends.
His answer had her a little dumbfounded, it was honest and straightforward. He complimented her several times yet also called out what he thought were flaws, or at least flaws in her thinking. The words he chose to describe her stood out most though beautiful, compassionate, strong, reckless and cute…only one of which she would have used herself. Looking at him as he speaks he would actually see her expression soften a little, that usually neutral face of hers seeming to take on a more feminine aspect for a moment. His answer made it obvious that he had some sort of feelings towards her as friends didn’t usually describe each other in such ways. Despite how tough she usually was the Princess welcomed the compliments, so much more used to people commenting about her strength and battle prowess.
As much as she liked the surprising words he chose to describe her, Akassa did not miss what he had said about her family and human side. When it came to her family she just didn’t feel he was right, it did matter what they thought of her. Her father was the King, whose opinion mattered more than his? Not Akassa’s that was for sure. Still she would not debate it with him, they simply had different upbringings. That thought about what he had said about her human side. Perhaps he was right, she was stronger than most full blooded saiyan’s she knew so her human side might have something to do with it. Either way, it was something she could not change.
”…Thank you Conri…that was a bit flattering to be honest, even if I do not agree with your statement about my family so…thank you. Let’s just agree to disagree on that one, alright?”Smiling ever so slightly, she waits for his next question.
”That is an easy one. I think you are brash, confounding, a bit too bold, and overall an enigma.” Her eyes would stay locked on him, her expression quite serious for a moment before she starts to grin. Even she could mess with other people a little when in the mood. ”I see you as different then most I have known Conri Lane. You are strong both physically and in terms of your will power, yet your personality is rather light hearted for one possessing so much strength. I will admit that I still have some trouble understanding your actions and motivations, but I know they are honorable. In many ways I believe you are like Ninjin, yet you handle situations differently you are no less passionate about them. I look forward to getting to know you more, today has been…quite enjoyable so far.”
Her answer might not have been as flattering as his, but it was her honest assessment. Conri may not realize how high of praise he was getting from her, the Princess not one to compliment anyone outside of her family. So far he was earning her respect and friendship. Now it was time for another question from her.
”Would you be willing to fight me again, like we did on Alpha Prime?” She wanted to test herself again, not today, but in the future to see if she had grown stronger than him. If he agreed now, she would cash that in later.

Akassa seemed to catch his expressions while she was explaining the list of important things to her, but he remained silent and instead kept them to himself. He had already received holes in his chest from her before for doing something stupid, he didn't need any more of them. However when she glared at him, he put his hands up in a show that he had not meant offense by his chuckle. Though he supposed that just chuckling wasn't a very clear sign as to what his thoughts were at the time either, still he felt that he should defend himself a bit there.
It was hard not to notice the expressions her face made as he told her what he thought of her, the first being dumbfounded, which he supposed made sense. Then again, when her expression became more feminine he smiled, enjoying that he got to see an expression other than the neutral one that she usually showed. He wondered just how many people actually managed to see something like that from the princess, even if the number turned out to be quite a few, he would be happy with having been able to see it. Still, it seemed like he managed to give some insight to herself as well with some of the things he mentioned, but he still felt like he was missing something that he had thought of before this moment. Oh well, he would stop thinking about it for now before it drove him insane.
When she spoke about what he had said about her family, he had seen that one coming, but he nodded in response to her request. He would eventually make her see her own worth, maybe he could even convince Ninjin to do so as well. He supposed that it was progress that she didn't deny that her human half was as integral to her as her saiyan half. That seemed to hit its mark pretty well, from what he could tell at least. Then she went on to answer his own question about what she thought about him.
The first response caused him to think for a moment especially with how seriously she was staring at him, until that grin formed and he couldn't help laughing. She had actually gotten him pretty good, even he had to admit that. Conri quietly listened to what Akassa had to say about him though. He was honestly interested in what she thought about him, and as she spoke, he could only smile at the things she said about him. Given that she held her family in such high regard, the fact that she compared him to Ninjin was something of high praise as far as he could tell. Plus she knew that his actions and motives were honorable, even if they weren't always understandable, which he could agree with himself. The last comment about her enjoying herself so far had him grinning from ear to ear, as she admitted she was enjoying herself in his company. He would definitely enjoy getting to know her better as well.
"Hm? Of course I would be willing to fight with you again, that was fun," he chuckled, wondering if she thought he would refuse her request or something. He had enjoyed himself quite a bit in that spar, even if he had come close to being stabbed repeatedly and having his flesh burned. "Now, for my next question. What is your worst habit?" he figured he would ask something that might seem bad, but he figured it would be good to know.

Akassa was more than pleased to hear him agree that they would fight again. She had lost to him on Alpha Prime and it had not been something she had forgotten. Akassa prided herself on being one of the strongest fighters she knew. As of late she had been on a losing streak. She had lost to Ninjin, Conri, Ezekiel and then Ninjin again, not satisfactory for someone of her power. Smiling at his agreement she was obviously happy with the response, ready to take him on at any moment. Of course that was not for today, it would have to be in the future as they were not in a place where combat was acceptable. Besides she was enjoying talking with him, getting to know him a little bit. For all his randomness and strangeness at times he was actually…quite normal once you got to know him.
His latest question had her thinking a moment like quite a few before it. Mostly she was not used to answering questions like these and a lot of the topics were things she normally didn’t think about. Tapping her chin for a moment she wonders what her worst habit might be, did she really have any bad habits? In her mind most things she did had a point and were not a waste of her time, nor did she do anything that was unsavory. Still unsure about how to answer she looks over at him; almost about to tell him she didn’t have any when something comes to her mind, a bit of an abstract thought.
”Well…perhaps I spend too much time focusing on my training?” While he was expecting an answer she instead gave him a question. She didn’t think the hours upon hours she spent training was a bad thing, but might it look obsessive almost to someone from the outside? Looking over at him still, her brown eyes quite calm, she waits for his answer. Conri was always honest and straightforward so she had no doubts that he would be so with this question. Akassa didn’t think it was a bad habit, but wasn’t it always hard to judge yourself?
Should he answer the question she would already have her next question ready. Since they were getting a little more personal with this game of questions she had something she wanted his opinion on.
”I asked you before about Ninjin and I agreed with your answer so I want to ask you about another one of my family members if I may. What do you think of Queen Natisha? Also, understand this question stays between us.” Akassa was not sure how well he knew the Queen, but she was curious as to his opinion. The Princess respected Natisha like any other member of her family, yet there was animosity between the two, the Queen always treating her with a lack of respect simply because of her half blooded nature.

It seemed his answer pleased the Princess, something he seemed to be finding himself more and more able to do as they talked. She must have really wanted a rematch with him, even though he wasn't quite sure why she wanted one. It would be fine either way though, since she was one of the few people that could not only fight evenly with him, but also keep him on his toes in battle. Seeing her smile was something he enjoyed quite a bit, so he would just enjoy it while she thought of an answer to his question. Though it seemed that she didn't seem to think of a habit, or she didn't see herself with bad habits.
"That works as one, although answering a question with a question, you cheater," he stuck his tongue out playfully once more, not really minding that she did. Though he supposed that training wasn't really that bad of a habit, or maybe it was given that he tended to train quite a bit as well. Maybe that was a bad habit of his as well, scratching his head in thought, he shrugged after a few moments not really bothered much by it if it was one. There were plenty of worse habits out there that he could come up with that people could have.
The next question from Akassa had him glance at her before shifting his eyes around a bit to see if there were any other people that might overhear. Then he focused on Akassa, trying to think of his one meeting with the woman, his opinion of her would not be high at all especially with the way she had tried to speak to him. Scratching his cheek, this was probably not going to bode well for him, but she did ask him for his honest opinion. So, he would give her that based on what he knew of the woman, and then he would just hope for the best because he figured it would most likely get him punched or something.
"Well, from the one time I met the woman I can't say I have a very high opinion of her. She tends to have a narrow-minded view of the universe around her, and thinks that the way she sees things is the only way it can be seen. She underestimate's people based on a lack of information, which is going to get her into trouble one day. She doesn't take friendly advice well, and it seems that she has prejudices against pretty much everyone that isn't a saiyan. From what I have experienced there is also a lack of compassion and understanding, and that's all I can say from our meeting," that was just what he glimpsed from their first meeting. He kept his gaze focused on Akassa wondering what her reaction to his opinion of the Queen, he knew there would be something she didn't like about it, but he couldn't say nice things when asked for an honest opinion. He kind of wished that he had some armor on hand just on the chance that she would decide to punch him. Now, he supposed that he should ask her a question, just to keep their back and forth going and maybe also distract her from getting fully angry with him.
"Has there ever been a moment in your life where you cried or wanted to cry? Bah, that sounds silly," he rubbed the back of his head, trying to see if he could come up with better questions for the next time. Well, he had asked it, so he may as well see if there was an answer to that question.

A couple of shrugs are the only answer she gets, assuming it meant that he couldn’t argue one way or the other. Akassa knew her training at points, consumed her, the desire to grow stronger and better serve New Vegeta burning passionately within the woman. Still…she had started to see the benefit of taking some time out of her busy schedule just to relax, or spend a little bit of time with those she considered friends. Like this meeting for example, she had thought it was going to be a waste of her time to travel out and talk with Conri, but the conversation and questions that came along with it was actually a nice release. For the Princess her main release of any pent up energy or anger was combat, another reason she spent so much time training. Akassa herself didn’t fully realize how much stored up anger she often had, hours upon hours of training the best way for her to vent it, this talk accomplishing the same thing. Most of it was directed at Natisha, something Akassa did not openly admit, but it was why she had asked him about her. Akassa didn’t hate the woman…that was for sure, yet there were times were she did not think that highly of her. Deep down she could not understand why her Father had picked her, she was no warrior after all.
Listening to his answer she was again glad he was honest, even if the words didn’t put the Queen in the best light. For the most part he was spot on, at least when compared to Akassa’s secret assessment of the Saiyan Queen. Natisha had been brought into the Hattori family so her station was not technically a birthright; Tsuyo’s choosing having been what allowed her the power she now wielded. When he finished, making sure to note that his words were based only on one meeting, the Princess was nodding slowly. Looking to him she wonders how much she could truly trust him, for she was just started to get to know him. There was something that she had wanted off her chest for some time, several events that she alone knew about and was just aching for someone else to listen and understand. Biting her lower lip for a second she decides to trust him with it, hoping he would keep it between them like she had agreed to keep what she now knew of his past family a secret as well.
”I wish to share something with you, but you must keep it secret. I agree with you about the Queen…I want it to be clear I do not thinks she is an evil woman, but there are numerous flaws within her character. Regardless you know she is not my biological mother, my true mother banished to Earth after my birth. I have been forbidden to look for her…but I have not followed that order. The last two times I had military business on Earth I went looking for her and so far….dead ends. Just recently I hired someone, privately, that is going to look into her location as I wish to meet her.” Sighing some after the words, her eyes never leaving him, her face takes on a serious expression. ”You must tell no one, that understood?”
If he was to agree she would finally address his own question, not needing to think about this one at all. ”The last time I remember crying I was nine years old. I had just failed one of my combat tests with my father watching. I remember…. I remember how disappointed I was, how much I wanted to take back those moments and try again to show him my true potential. After the failed test I returned to my quarters and could not help but cry, I am not sure if you can understand the pressure I was under, but I was devastated.” As she shares Akassa was a little surprised at herself for speaking so openly with him. What was it about Conri Lane that allowed her to speak more easily than she could to most others?
”My turn. Do you think it is wrong of me to search for my mother, against the King and Queens word?” Akassa had never disobeyed any order her in her entire life, but she had when it came to searching for her mother. The original agreement had been to ask each other questions, but now she seemed to be asking for advice or was she asking for approval? The Princess had not meant it to come out that way, but the usual confident woman seemed to be looking for guidance on the issue and whether he liked it or not she was looking for it in Conri Lane.

Conri couldn't help but enjoy himself with their conversation, the fact that he was learning about her, but he was also finally able to share some things with someone else as well. There were a few things that he just didn't tell most people, so that he was able to let them out in their conversation helped lift some of the weight from them. Granted, they weren't really dark secrets or anything like that, but they didn't need to be either, it was just nice to have someone to talk to normally. As oddly as that sounded from him given that he tended to be a generally friendly person all around, unless the person had done something to make him otherwise. Watching Akassa it seemed that she herself had began to relax, at least from what he could tell when she first arrived up to this point there was a notable difference.
As he gave his answer about Queen Natisha, he expected to see anger begin to build up with the princess since it had been one of the Royal Family he was speaking about like that. Instead, she seemed focused on what he was saying, even seeming to contemplate his words as he explained his opinion of the woman and that it had been one meeting that he was basing his information from. Then she bit her lower lip for a moment, seeming to want to say or do something, or considering it. He somewhat prepared himself mentally to be punched, just in case he was really bad at reading her reactions. However, when she began to speak, he focused on everything she said taking it seriously as she mentioned that this was not to leave the two of them. That was something he would have no problem with, given that she was doing the same for him.
"Absolutely, this is only between the two of us," he agreed, listening to what she had to say. So, King Tsuyo and Queen Natisha had forbidden her from searching for her real mother, that was another thing that he could not understand. This woman was Akassa's mother, why was she not allowed to know her mother? He doubted Natisha was being anything even remotely like a good mother towards the Half-Saiyan that was sitting beside him. Then again, who knew, he had only met the woman once. Akassa had then insisted that he tell no one and he nodded to her, "I swear on my honor that I shall never tell anyone."
He would keep his word as well, since she was doing something that he had mentioned that she should the time the met with one another on Alpha Prime. She was doing something for herself, even if it meant going against what her family had told her, which to him was a good thing for Akassa. Sometimes there were things so important that you just had to do them, regardless of what anyone else thought. When she spoke of the one point in her life when she cried, he listened to her story, nodding in understanding of it, he could see how it would effect her so much.
"I understand, you wanted to prove to your father that you were just as capable as any other Saiyan. I thank you for sharing that story with me," he smiled sincerely. Glad that she trusted him enough to share that little story with him, it was likely something that she rarely told anyone. Then she asked the next question and for a few seconds to keep his eyes focused on her, finding it odd that she seemed to be asking him of either advice or approval. Granted, he didn't mind sharing either with her, but it was a strange turn all the same.
"I believe what you are doing is right, and that sometimes you can't always follow what others tell you. This woman is your biological mother, you have every right to meet her and find out what kind of person she is and maybe find out a bit more about yourself. I will offer two other bits. The first is that, if you would like, I could help look for her if you want me to but I leave the decision to you. The second, is that should the King and Queen find out, and try anything because of it, then I will say that there is always room on my ship, you'll have your own bedroom and such," he figured it would be better to know that she would at least always have him on her side. Regardless of the outcome, so that she didn't feel like she had to do or go through it all alone.
"As for my next question, I do have a back up question in case you find this one too personal. How does Natisha treat you?" he asked directly, he didn't want to play guessing games with that, and if she did decide to tell him then he would at least be properly informed that Natisha was someone that he would just not have anything to do with at all.

Akassa couldn’t be more pleased when he agreed to keep everything between them. She did not fear her father finding out about her searches, but she also didn’t want to have to try and explain it to him. In the end he probably wasn’t going to understand the desire she had to meet her mother. Tsuyo had told her multiple times that her mother resided on Earth even if he had always added that she was nothing more than a normal human. He never seemed to resent the woman for being human, just wanting to make the point that she was not a Saiyan. That was most likely the reason Akassa took so much pride in her Saiyan side over the Human side, she had been raised on New Vegeta after all. Still there was that innate desire to meet her mother, the woman she had been brought into this world by. Having Natisha as a step mother no doubt contributed to this desire for the two shared nothing in terms of a mother-daughter relationship.
His response to her story caused her to shrug a little, the Princess unsure of how to properly respond. Such stories and emotions were rarely shared with others so the appropriate reaction did not always come to her. It was indeed awkward for her to speak so openly about such things and part of the reason she had asked for his opinion if she was doing the right thing. Conri seemed to do what he wanted when he wanted, always doing whatever he thought was right regardless of what others might think. In a way she admired that in him, even if she thought he lacked the discipline of a Saiyan warrior at times, he had definitely proven his strength. When he actually gave his answer, agreeing that she was not in the wrong for seeking out the woman Akassa was relieved even if she didn’t show it. Glad it was not just her that thought she had the right to find and speak with her own mother. As for his two bits she was shaking her head to both.
”I appreciate the offers Conri, but I must do this on my own. She is my mother and I will find her. As for taking a spot on your ship I am grateful you would extend such an offer to me though I could never accept. I do not believe that even if they do find out they would punish me severely enough that I would need to leave New Vegeta. I could never step away from my home like that.” Akassa would offer a slight smile in his direction though, glad for his offer and his honesty. As odd as he could be she had to appreciate the honesty that came from him with all of his words. If he wasn’t joking around he was being straight with you, no deception in his body. He was also quite bold, his next question a perfect example. For a minute or so she would not answer, just looking back at him as she decides if she actually wants to answer.
”This is again to stay between us. Natisha is Queen, that is a fact and although she is my father’s wife she does not always act fitting for her station. For the most part she does not treat me with the same respect she offers Ninjin and Leke, mostly because I am not her daughter. I can understand she does not see me in the same light, for I am not of her blood, but I do not think I am always deserving of her anger. To sum it up without getting into too much more detail I would say she treats me poorly.” Anger almost crept into her tone, but she kept it suppressed like she always did. Natisha frequently hurt Akassa’s feeling, but as a warrior and the daughter of the King, she knew to keep those feeling suppressed. The Princess was tougher than most Saiyan men and she had learned to deal with the harsh words, to poor the anger she felt into making herself stronger. So far it had worked; Akassa was on the same level as her brother.
Sitting back a little Akassa looks away from him, her jaw clenching some as she thinks a little more about Natisha. It was not that she hated the woman, she was a Hattori after all, but she just didn’t understand why there was such a lack of respect. Seeming lost in thought for a moment the doesn’t ask another question, the last one having gotten the usually neutral Princess slightly emotional, a state she was not comfortable with.

He smiled as she shrugged her response to him thanking her, he could understand that as well, there were probably a lot of unusual experiences around Conri. Especially given the fact that he wasn't like most other Saiyans, at least not completely, there was a lot to him that separated him from what most considered a typical Saiyan. So, the fact that the could ask such question and be so honest with her were probably surprises. Plus it wasn't like he hid anything about himself either, he was pretty much an open book except for one aspect of his life and Akassa was the only one that knew anything about it. When she shook her head at his offers he could only smile at her, she was definitely an independent woman, maybe a bit stubborn as well, but that was another reason he enjoyed her company.
"Alright, I can understand wanting to do that on your own, and that you couldn't leave your home so easily. Just know that both of those offers are always going to be open, if you want or need me to do anything feel free to contact me and ask. If you ever need it, there will be a room for you on my ship, sound good?" he figured just leaving it as an open offer would be good, that way if she ever felt the need to just get away or had something she wanted looked into, then she just needed to get a hold of him. When he asked his question Akassa seemed to go quiet just looking at him for a few minutes, not quite sure what she would decide regarding the question. When she finally did speak, she mentioned that it would be another aspect that would just stay between them, and he nodded his agreement letting her speak.
He couldn't say that he was surprised at the answer that he got, the Queen didn't seem like someone that would treat others fairly with her biased attitude. He believed firmly that she was in the wrong for her treatment of Akassa compared to how she treated Ninjin and Leke, not quite sure who the latter was but he assumed another of Natisha's children. Watching as Akassa seemed to become what he could only assume was upset by her body language and the fact that she turned away from him after speaking. Raising an eyebrow slightly as she turned away, he wasn't sure exactly what caused the sudden change, but he assumed that it was most likely his fault given her current positioning.
Placing a hand on her shoulder he tries to offer a comforting gesture to her before speaking, "I'm sorry if my question made you upset, it wasn't my intention for that to happen." He left it at that, unsure of what else he could say in regards to it, but he figured that if she wasn't comfortable with his gesture she could remove his hand from her shoulder or something. He was simply trying to offer some support.

All he would get in response to his offer was a slight nod. Truly she was a little warmed to have such an offer, considering that they had really not known each other for all that long. Even though she accepted it Akassa knew she was never going to take him up on it, at least not in this life. It was strange really she loved the life she had, yet at the same time felt so much anger at times with the way Natisha treated her. All that treatment was not enough to drive her way from her family though, always striving to make them proud. Deep down it was the affection that Tsuyo showed her; even if such a thing was rare from him she had experienced it multiple times over her life. He was a warrior King, but quite an emotional man and even though she was a bastard child he had never scorned her as much as he could have. Akassa was his true first born, the first child he had ever sired into this world and he obviously treasured her in some way since he had allowed her to grow up alongside Ninjin and then Leke. As of recent Ninjin had begun to show her respect, while Leke looked up to her. To her being a Hattori was everything.
Hearing Conri speak again Akassa looks over to him, realizing her focus had drifted off to thoughts of her step mother. Not wanting to drag down the enjoyable conversation they had been having so far the Princess smiles at him. ”No its fine Conri, excuse me…I was a little lost within my own thoughts.” Straightening back up she seemed to overcome the short sadness that had overtaken her, or at least she had pushed it down. Akassa was not one to stay down for long; she never dwelled on sadness or disappointment, at least not openly. Subconsciously she might let it linger, but it was always drowned out by her anger and passion to grow stronger. Regaining the posture fitting of a royal woman Akassa dives right back into the conversation they had been having up until this point.
”You asked me here so that you could learn more about me, and I learn about you. I understand your desire to know me on a deeper level, friends after all grow to understand each other. Tell me Conri, what does friendship mean to you?” There were all kinds of bonds that individuals could form between each other. Family was no doubt the strongest, but what came next? A companion? A friend? A partner? All three could be labeled as the same thing, yet couldn’t they also be quite different from each other? She wanted to know exactly what a friendship between the two of them was going to mean to Conri. Would it mean they would spend multiple evenings talking like this, sharing with each other or would they both go off on their own paths to perhaps meet again in the future? When one was in need would the other come running to their aide? What did it mean to be a friend in his mind?
