She nodded at his offer and he smiled, knowing that it was progress that she agreed that if she ever needed it, she was more than welcome to get a hold of him. They both knew the truth, but at the same time, it was still a step in the right direction for them both. He would consider today an overall victory for them getting to know each other and him getting to see so many different facets to the princess. Plus he had managed to give her a hug without having his spine ripped out in a rather painful fashion, so today was pretty much set to be a good day. Though there were some interesting turns to his day, like just now with her being distracted by the question he had asked, he hadn't thought it would be such a deep thing for her.
"Not at all, if you would like feel free to share, but I won't force you to do so," he spoke in a way that it was not meant to pressure the information. If it was something she felt like sharing, she could do so, if not then it would just be a passing moment that they could move on from without any extra thought. Plus the way she seemed to perk up once more it was this strength that he had been talking about as well, not one to let anything keep her down. Plus the next question she asked was something of a doozy, she must have used that time to gather her thoughts. This would take some thought for Conri, because he had to define what friendship meant to him, rather than just experience it directly. Which was especially difficult because he tended to try not to over complicate things with too much thinking.
"Pbbbtttt, you pick some hard questions, ya know that? What does friendship mean to me? That's a good question, I've never truly thought about it really, I just do what I do for my friends without a second thought. I mean, if you're a friend of mine, you've got my trust no issues. I'd go through hell and back for a friend, no matter what the situation called for me to do, but within reason as well. I don't plan to go slaughtering people across the universe, ya know? If a friend is in need, I go help them, simple as that. I chat with the people I still consider my friends even to this day, bunch of crazy bastards those two are still. I also try to keep my friends straight by telling them straight out if I think they're doing something stupid. I also hope that whoever was my friend would be willing to do the same for me, but I'm probably rambling at this point. I think that covers the general gist of it, but if not, then I suppose you could just say that my friends are like family to me," he smiled sincerely at Akassa saying that. It was the only real way he could describe it in full without going into an even longer rant than he had just then, and he was sure that Akassa wouldn't want to hear his ramblings.
"What makes you laugh the hardest?" he asked, curious to know what she would enjoy laughing at the most. He figured that even she had something that she enjoyed watching, listening to, and or reading about that could make her laugh, right?

There had been progress between the two of them today, the Princess feeling a little more comfortable with him compared to the last time they had spoken. The hug had been unexpected, the main reason he had not been slapped because of how unprepared she had been for it. Of course it wasn’t as disrespectful as the slap to her back side during their sparring session, the embrace more to support her than anything. A strong woman, she did not require such gestures from anyone, not even her own father, but she could not deny that it had been welcomed after the fact. Hearing his voice and the offer to discuss if she wished Akassa quickly shakes her head, moving right on as if the question had never been raised.
Her newest question gave him pause like a couple had already, and admittedly she could understand why. Many people had friends, but few took the time to define exactly what the friendship. In her mind this lead to a common misconception about what friendship really meant. Too many people considered themselves a friend of another when in truth they were only in the relationship because it was easy and convenient. The true test was when that friend needed you for something that was out of your comfort zone or not within you power. These false friends as they could be labeled often had excuses as to why they couldn’t help, claiming that they wished they could be of assistance even as they duck out of their responsibilities. A true friend was there to help no matter what sort of obstacle one faced, prepared to head into the fire to help regardless if they knew what needed to be done. Akassa felt this way about her family, any of her siblings would charge into battle alongside her without a second thought and she would do the same for them. Could a friendship really care that same strong bond or was family simply the only relationship capable of that, she was unsure.
As he supplies his answer a smile slowly forms on her face, the Princess not saying a word as the expression conveys her approval of his response. His last seven words seal the deal for her, exactly what she wanted to hear. “My friends are like family to me.” If he planned on being her friend, even had feelings for her like he had stated before, then he best realize the seriousness of that proposed bond. Celeh understood it and she felt Ezekiel understood it as well, both of those bonds yet to be truly tested. Looking over at Conri still she maintains that smile, still saying nothing as he finishes talking. There would be no verbal confirmation from her that he had answered correctly, so Conri would be left wondering if he had given her an answer she was pleased with, yet the smile might alone confirm it.
”What makes me laugh?” She seemed stumped by the question right off the bat. What did make her laugh? Akassa had a sense of humor, hidden somewhere under her serious exterior, and it rarely made its way to the surface. Chewing her lip for a moment she then shrugs. ”I suppose I can appreciate a good joke in the right situation, although it has been a while since I have heard one.” Her life didn’t really allow for humor that often, the Princess getting most of her “entertainment” from combat. Hoping that answer was sufficient she smiles at him a little, shrugging again.
”Do you believe in fate Conri? What I mean is, do you believe that our lives are set out before us or are we the ones that choose the paths we go down?” Akassa felt it was the later, but wanted to see what his opinion was. He was a free spirited individual yet the Princess wondered if he believed in anything beyond the material world. It might be an odd question, hers having so far been more serious than some of his. Curious as to his answer she had a serious expression on her face.

Akassa was really good at asking those questions that stumped him, he was going to need to try returning that favor simply so he didn't feel as bad taking so long to answer the questions. Though on a more serious note, he was curious as to the depth of the questions she was asking, maybe he should start asking some similarly deep questions to her. The real question is what could he ask her to find out some more things about her, he had learned quite a few deep things based on the questions he already asked. Those had been unintentionally deep though, at least from his perspective.
When he finally did give his answer, Akassa would only smile at him and hadn't answered whether it was what she was looking for or not. Unless the smile was his answer and she just didn't feel the need to say anything? He supposed that was possible, he would probably just take that to be his answer. Otherwise he might be wondering what she was thinking for a while and then he'd go crazy with trying to over think everything. It seemed his answer was good and he would leave it at that, returning the smile to her.
"That makes sense, I guess I can see what else can make you laugh later down the road," he smirked, it would be amusing to see what else could get her to laugh. Jokes were always a thing, but did that mean she didn't find certain antics to be funny? He was also curious if she was ticklish, but that would have to wait until she was more comfortable with being touched, considering friends tended to do things like that. At least they did in his experience, but he would see how things went to gauge how she would react to that. Even if it meant he had to take a punch to get her to laugh, he was willing to bite the bullet, it was for the good of the universe! Then she asked her next question and this was one that he didn't need to think about at all, especially with everything that happened to him.
"Absolutely not, I can't believe in it. If there was such a thing as fate I would have to find the one responsible for it, and kick their ass. I believe that we make our own paths through life," his answer probably came out a bit harsher than he intended. However, how could he believe in a concept that would have his children dying as a set event as opposed to some asshole coming and doing such a despicable thing. He closed his eyes taking in a deep breath and pushing down the bit of rage that had started to bubble up from that question, knowing that there was no reason for it here. Taking a few minutes to regather himself, he looked to her with an apologetic expression if the way he answered had been mean or harsh.
"This will probably be a strange question, but, what is intimacy to you?" he asked, his own expression was serious, he wasn't trying to make a joke there. Rather, he was interested in what she believed intimacy was, or what her ideal image of it would be.

Akassa didn’t mean to have a bad sense of humor; it was another aspect of her that had been shaped by her rather serious upbringing. She did enjoy having fun at times it just wasn’t something she had much spare time for in most cases. His comments about finding out what else made her laugh farther down the road she shrugs a little, not caring much to be entertained in that sort of way. If Conri wished to entertain her and make her day then he could best accomplish that by squaring off against her. Despite her always clean look and neatly tucked hair she loved to brawl above anything else, almost seeming not to fit with her reserved personality. When it came to combat Akassa’s true self came out, the discipline she had been taught over her lift often vanishing as she unleashed the natural talent she had for combat, even if she was reckless at times.
His answer about fate was what she expected, she had just been curious to hear what he might actually say. The both of them had earned the strength that they possessed and earned their current spot in life. Sure she had been born into the royal family, at least partially, but if she had not proven worthy in her father’s eyes wouldn’t he have kicked her to the side years before? Weakness was something she did not plan to tolerate so she didn’t expect it to be tolerated by anyone else.
”I agree Conri. There is nothing that cannot be accomplished with enough strength and will power. Sort of like you winning the Galactic Tournament. I bet no one expected you to win when it started yet you proved to be the strongest fighter at the time, something you did with your own hands.” Akassa did not mean for her words to be insulting at all, after all she did respect his strength. Her words simply reflected how she truly felt. In her mind no one had expected him to win, they all must have thought a Hattori would come out on top; their father was one of the most impressive warriors in the Universe so it only made sense that they would have expected the same from his children.
Rolling her neck some she was relaxed again, getting comfortable once more with their game of questions. However, all of that vanishes as he asks his next question. Midway through rolling her neck she snaps a glare over at him. Some of his questions this far had been a bit personal, but not in the same way this one was. Akassa was his friend, but she was still a Princess. Leveling the glare at him it was instantly obvious she had not liked the question not saying anything as her face reddens slightly, out of anger and a little embarrassment.
”I am your friend Conri Lane, but you would be wise to remember that I am still Princess Akassa Hattori of New Vegeta. That question is not appropriate and none of your business.” She pauses for a moment, taking a breath as she calms a little. ”As inappropriate as it was I am sure you did not mean to offend me so we can leave it at that. You may ask another question.” Her tone shifted to one that she usually used with soldiers, a more commanding one then she had been using so far. Akassa was being friendly with him, even more so then she had in the past, but the shift in her speech might remind him of the woman she was most of the time, a general in the Saiyan military. Still at the young age of 21 and being so high up in the military she had learned to speak with such authority years before, demanding respect and obedience from those ranked beneath her. Soldiers knew to respect Akassa Hattori.

It seemed that Akassa agreed with him in regards to not believing in some strange force that seemed to determine what would happen to people even far off into the future. That was just the most ridiculous thing that he could think of, that there would be a force that decided when it was time for someone to die and there wasn't anything they could do about it. He was going to prove that it didn't exist as well, by doing something through his own sheer strength and making sure it was known that he did it completely on his own. Although Akassa's example almost seemed like a backhanded compliment, even though he knew that it wasn't one, but he wasn't quite sure he considered the tournament to be a prime example. It was more that he had just managed to impress the judges more, and only one more judge than Frigid had, so it was more a thing of sheer luck that he won that one.
"I don't know if I can say that was won through pure strength since it went to a decision, but yeah, I get the point. I surprised the world when I won it, but it's not the same to me. I mean, I'm happy that I won don't get me wrong, but there's still something I need to do with my own strength that proves that there is no such thing as fate or destiny," this was something he was determined to do as well. There was still much for him to do, just like there was still a lot of room for him to improve in his abilities as well. However, he more than had the determination to back up his desires for both getting stronger and proving that he could do anything with his own strength that this so called 'destiny' was nothing more than an illusion.
What he wasn't expecting was the reaction Akassa gave to his next question, it seemed that they may have had different ideas of what intimacy detailed. As he didn't quite think it was an inappropriate question given his own idea of what intimacy would be for him, but that was likely to be expected. He seemed to have a different way of thinking from a lot of people, but that was neither here nor there right now. She seemed to think his question meant something else, so it was best to clear the air and apologize for it before things got out of hand. Although the second thing she did kind of pushed a button with him, he really disliked people trying to give him orders, and she should have known better than to try that with him.
"I wasn't meaning anything inappropriate by the question, so I will apologize for that. However, and I say this with all the respect I have for you as a person and as my friend, but I don't take orders with that commanding tone thing. If it's too personal, then just say 'that's a bit too personal' and I'll drop it. I understand you need to get used to the friendship thing, but friends don't treat each other differently just because of rank or whatever. Just tell me if a question is too personal don't try pulling this rank crap with me, cause you should realize that doesn't work," his tone was just as serious, if she considered him a friend as well, then she should respect him just the same. Not try to demean him by trying to use a commanding voice that was more suited for soldiers, because he wasn't a soldier, he was Conri Lane. There was a chance that this could turn bad, however, it wasn't in him to let people try to walk over him like that. Especially not if it was a friend, his friends were like family to him, and he called both out on the things that he did not like that were directed towards him. Jokes and the like were fine, trying to do the whole authority thing wasn't.
"Anyways, onto a different question. What was the best advice that you have ever received?" he figured that would be something better to ask her. Then again, it could take a rather bad turn all around, but he wasn't going to dwell on the last thing and hoped that she wouldn't either. They both had done things neither had liked, so it would just be best to let it drop.

Whether he had won by punching his opponent from the arena or the judges had picked him it was still because of his strength. The power he possessed is what had gotten him that far in the tournament and what gave him the ability to stand up to the formidable Icejin that had met him in the finals. Akassa like him felt it was not destiny or fate that he had won that day, but because he had put himself in that position. Ultimately it had been up to others to decide the victor, but his performance had earned him the majority vote so Conri Lane had won that tournament all on his own.
As for her the shift in her tone she had not meant for it to be commanding, it was something that happened naturally. Most of her life was based around the military and more often than not she was interacting with those that were ranked under her, giving those commands as was the duty of her station. The fact she had shifted to that tone with him was something that was subconscious, after all she felt he had crossed a line with her so she had reacted defensively. Anger was the only emotion that the Princess knew how to show so when other emotions cropped up, whether they are embarrassment or something as simple as nervousness she usually didn’t know how to react, automatically getting defensive. Such was the case today, his question having made her feel quite uncomfortable even if she had not understood his phrasing in the same way he had.
Another thing Akassa was not usually good at was letting things go, her eyes narrowing as he takes a firm tone with her. Of course she was his friend, but did that mean any question under the Sun was allowable? No, she was still a woman and a Princess and after he had admitted before that he was at least slightly attracted to her that question was completely inappropriate. Grinding her teeth together some she actually cuts him off before he can mention his next question about advice, the Princess rising from the bench as she does.
”Friends also do not ask each other about what they think intimacy is Conri Lane. You may not be ranked below me, and trust me I do not see you that way, but I hope you do not believe that when someone crosses a line with me I will simply let it fly. You crossed the line Conri, I am not comfortable with that type of question and you should know better than to ask me it. We are done here.” The emotion in her voice would indicate she had been a little offended by his question, regardless of how he had meant it. He was well aware she was a proud woman and when she believed she had even been slightly offended, which the question had offended her, she would react strongly.
Jaw clenched again she would turn to walk away from him unless he was to stop her. She had been enjoying this conversation with him minus this most recent question, but when confronted with a situation like this she decided to try and walk away. She did consider Conri a friend and did not want her temper to cause her to make some sort of mistake.

It seemed that things were starting to take that turn for the worse that he had hoped they wouldn't, it was evidenced by the expression on Akassa's features. He would need to figure out something to try turning this back towards a bit more friendly of an atmosphere, even if it turned out that they parted afterwards. He would rather not have her leave on bad terms, granted it was likely that he could get hurt by trying to do this, but that was a risk he was willing to take. Sometimes things were more important than worrying about getting hurt or not, this was one of those times.
As she started to leave he jumped from his seat motioning to the kids to get the things he left with them, and he took off after Akassa. He reached to grab her hand in an attempt to turn her around so that he could talk to her, even if he failed to grab her he would start to talk. It wasn't like he was expecting her to do nothing, so he would just try to talk things out and see what happened, worst case scenario was that he got punched out. At least in his head, there could probably be something worse from her.
"Of course I don't expect you to do nothing, slap me and tell me that it's too personal of a question. That or punch me, I would rather you do something like that. I also did not mean to offend you with that question, and I do apologize for that. Believe me, the last thing I would want to do is upset you. I'm not the best with judging what topics are ones I should avoid, I tend to be more open about things like that, and I forget that others aren't the same. If it will make it up to you, then feel free to hit me, or if you have a way for me to make it up to you then please let me hear it," he offered, figuring that if she let the anger out, it might be better for her as well. Since he was the cause of it, he would take the responsibility for the consequences that they brought. If there was one thing that Conri was, it was being a man and taking responsibility for his own actions, regardless of what that meant.
He didn't have a whole lot of ideas on how to make it up to her, but he would at least try, if she had a different way for him to do something. (blargh, sorry it's crap, haven't been feeling well)

Moving away from him Akassa pauses as he grabs a hold of her wrist, just above her hand. Glancing down to his fingers as he grips her wrist she wasn’t sure what to make of it at first. It seemed he was trying to get her to stay, the slight tugging indicating that he wished for her to turn around. When she didn’t face him the hand simply let go and he began to speak. There had been no real force behind the tug, her resistance ending his attempt to turn her immediately. Listening with her back still turned to him she understood his point, but was still not pleased with the tone he had used. Yet if he was apologizing and able to look past the small outburst, commanding tone included, she should be willing to look past the inappropriate question right? Conri was a friend after all…yet he had crossed the line, intentionally or not.
”I understand Conri…just know that there are lines you should be careful of. We can of course be friends, but I am still the Princess of New Vegeta, not just some Saiyan woman.” The Princess wasn’t trying to put herself above the rest of the people on New Vegeta on an individual level, she just wanted him to understand that if she was to be his friend then she had a certain image to uphold and treatment she expected. As a friend of hers he needed to understand that, she couldn’t just throw off her mantel as Princess whenever talking to him…it’s who she was. On the other hand she probably had over reacted a little and now he was already apologizing for the question. Sighing some she seemed to relax a little, but still does not turn to him.
”I must apologize as well Conri…I might have reacted excessively. Even so I have enjoyed our time together today, it was nice to get to know you a little better. It was an enjoyable distraction, but I feel I should get back to my duties; I still must attend to the needs of New Vegeta. However, I do hope we can do this again sometime.” With that she would start to walk away again, their time in the park apparently over with. Moving away from him the Princess would stop after several steps to look back at him over her shoulder.
”Oh…and Conri…if you intend to court a Princess…you might want to bring flowers or something of the like with you next time.” Flashing him a smirk she launches into the air before he can respond, the Champion perhaps slightly stunned at the small moment of flirtatiousness. Akassa was a warrior, a Princess and independent individual, but she was still a woman after all and not completely devoid of emotions. He probably knew he was playing it a bit bold to have openly shared his feelings with her, but nothing ventured nothing gained right? At the very least he knew to bring a gift of some sort the next time they spoke in a setting such as this.

When she pauses at his hand grasping hers, he is glad that she at least seems to be willing to hear him out, and allows him to say everything. There was no way that he could truly see what she was feeling at the moment given that her back was still turned to him, but it seemed that she was thinking over what he said. He could only hope that she understood that he had not meant to cause her any discomfort or insult her with the question, and if he could he would take it back. Then she answered and he could feel the tightness in his chest he hadn't realized was there ease away. Relieved that she was willing to forgive him for that slip, he would need to make sure that it didn't happen again, and would try to avoid topics of that nature. Granted, it was likely going to be tough to tell with some, so he would have to just ask at some ventures about certain questions and topics.
"I understand, I do. Believe me, I wouldn't treat you just like any woman out there, especially since you aren't just any woman either. You are Akassa Hattori, and that has meaning to me," he figured he would add. There was no way he could think of her as just any saiyan woman, or just some woman, it just wasn't possible for him. That was why it was also important to try and make sure that she wasn't still offended, and it seemed like she wasn't any more. Though he was sure it would still take a bit of time for her to completely get over the question, this was still a step in the right direction.
"It's alright, believe me I understand that. I also enjoyed the time we spent together today, I've learned a lot about you and it's all painting an interesting picture of who Princess Akassa is. I look forward to having another conversation like this as well, hopefully we can do it in the near future," she turned to walk away once more. Suddenly she paused to turn her head towards him with and spoke once more, this time what she said would take him a bit by surprise. Although, before he could respond she had taken off into the air and flew off to return to her duties.
"Well, I'll be damned. If she stuck around for a bit longer though, I'd have done just that, ah well there's plan B," turning to the kids as they approached he gave them instructions. They would deliver the flowers he had gotten for her to the palace and with it the card that was inside, the flowers were red tulips. Conri picked them out for the meaning he had been told, hoping that she would at least appreciate the message that they carried with them. It would be interesting to see what she had to say about them the next time they met. With that done, he would head off to prepare for his trip to Alpha Prime, and then the mission that he was being sent on. (PL please)

Later in the evening after Akassa had finished her duties for the day she returned to her private quarters. Rolling her shoulders some she shoves the door open and strolls in, pausing as she notices a vase of flowers along with a card on the table. Raising an eyebrow she makes her way to the small table, looking the flowers over before her eyes dip to the card. Picking up the small white card she was not that surprised to see they were from Conri. The blue haired half-saiyan was quite the bold one indeed and apparently preferred to act quickly. Only early this day had she mentioned the next time he met with her that he might present her with some sort of gift. Shaking her head a little she leans down to smell the flowers.
The red tulips smelt wonderful, a small smile coming to the Princess’ lips. Despite what most saw her as, a warrior and rather emotionless woman she had another side that rarely had a chance to show itself. That side enjoyed flowers and the like even if her busy life didn’t allow much time for such things. She would have to thank him for the flowers the next time she saw him. Stepping away to prepare for bed she glances back once more at the red tulips, well aware of the meaning behind them. (PL please)
