Music blaring in his ears, a certain blue haired boy jogged along the side of a road leading into the towering metropolis that laid ahead of him. If this wasn't the city, Ethan didn't know what was, it was absolutely enormous. Sweat beaded over every inch of the teen's skin as he made his way along and ever closer to the city, it had been a tiring journey but rewarding in and of it's self from the near constant exercise. Now all Ethan needed to complete it was to find his brother, but in the massive concrete jungle ahead he knew it wasn't going to be easy. While Ethan did possess somewhat of an education, being that he could read and write, he knew next to nothing about the ways of the outside world. His link to it before hand, the music player, didn't provide much of a context for the things that were talked about on it's radio so even though the boy could mimic the slang of the people on the radio, he had no idea what it meant nor much else about the area he was jogging into.
His ignorance extended to his surroundings in other ways for as Ethan started passing through run down, thickly packed urban housing, he failed to notice the various gang signs graffitied here and there. Likewise he didn't realize the people watching him with sneering glares from the front steps of their tenements, were in fact members of that very gang. Ethan was sauntering strait through their territory as if it were nothing and they weren't going to have any part of it. So as the athletic youth continued along, a group gathered about a block ahead and set their trap, they would have to do it fast however as Ethan was now only a block away from the border of their turf.
As the blue haired boy jogged long the sidewalk, having known for a while now to stay out of the path of cars, he approached an alleyway between buildings. Now the teen had no intention of going into that alley, his destination laid further ahead, in the taller, cleaner center of the city. However he wasn't given much choice in the matter, as Ethan passed a parked van, two of the street thugs hopped out of the back doors and started to follow him. Another descended the steps of an apartment ahead and two more now seemed to be flanking him, crossing the street in his direction. The looks on their faces told Ethan all he needed to know, he was in trouble and now the only route to avoid having to fight them seemed to be through the alley he was about to pass.
Turning sharply into the alley, the boy wondered if they had said something he missed and were perhaps angry that he'd ignored them. The music he was listening to was quite loud and for all he knew they could still be talking to him. And so as he rounded the corner, the blue haired teen raised his right arm and started to slide the headphones off and around his next.
BOOUUUFFF.....
Everything stopped and the whole world seemed to go fuzzy for a moment. From a full run Ethan was brought to a complete halt, his head lurching forward as saliva and air blasted out of his mouth. Then as his vision regained it's focus he saw the instrument that had brought him to a stop so handily. Lodged in his midsection was what appeared to be at least half a baseball bat, wielded by a large, muscular thug in the same colors as his friends. The other portion of the bat was obscured from view by the boy's own body but Ethan could clearly feel it. Wide eyed and breathless, the teen trembled as the bat was withdrawn and before he could even fall, was bowled over by the other gang members following him into the alley. The blue haired teen collapsed to the dirty alley floor under the weight of two of the thugs, desperately trying to get his air back. None would come however as the thugs quickly surrounded the boy and started to launch kicks into him from every angle. Ethan did what he could, covering up his head, but he was in trouble, he needed help and knew it.

Fate had a funny way of bringing people together.
It had been a couple of weeks since he had left the compound on his journey to central. So far he had learned that truly evil people really did exist in the world, and in the decades since his fathers retirement they had also retired the very tournament he had been champion of. The most unfortunate part of it all had been his exit from the compound. With how terrible things were out here he was completely convinced that he should have stayed within its walls. He knew now he could never return to blissful ignorance. Knowing that so many problems existed around him was too much to ignore.
He had attempted to get a drink and was left with the dry taste of old whiskey on his breath. It had only been a single shot, and the taste lingered on as the hours went on. He decided that rather than drinking the piss for water the bar was offering he would need to ask for help elsewhere. There were dozens of businesses around central, but not many actual homes. The apartment complexes were too complicated to navigate through, and every restaraunt he feared would have the same awful water as the last.
He wondered how his brothers and sisters were doing. He had gotten to know many of them, though not all. He recalled Jonathan -Jonny- the youngest boy at the complex. Jonny had followed Kit everywhere and he had kind of despised it. Not that he had hated Jonny, but trying to properly train and fight with his other siblings was difficult with a six year old tagging along. Then their was Sarah. Her viper attitude had gotten her in trouble a few times. The only girl who convinced her mother to allow her to fight rather than serve. Kit didn't mind that. He didn't share the chauvenistic views of his father.
All of his siblings on by one seemed to enter his mind, and last came Ethan.
Ethan was...
Well...
There weren't words for this child. He was trouble. He was the only child of his mother, so he lacked the full blooded brotherhood that many of the other siblings shared with at least one other. That full blooded bond stood out at the santuary. Being out of the major cliques caused Ethan to act out where others hadn't. It was too bad, as he was genuinly the third best fighter in the compound. Kit had recently taken the number one spot, and behind him of course was their father by a very narrow margine. Ethan was undefeated in his conquests against the other siblings, at least as of the last time Kit had checked on him...which honestly had been a couple of months ago.
In all honesty Kit was equally as cold to Ethan as the other siblings. Not that he hated him, but much like Jonny the kid just kind of annoyed him. Kit was after all an adult, and Ethan still had that baby face that most lost at puberty. Kit wasn't even sure if Ethan could grow facial hair, Or if he would want to. His mother was actually the most made fun of for being as loose as she was with the rules. Many of the other mothers had made fun of her for the unnaturally blue hair...
Until Ethan came along that is. His hair was equally as oddly colored, but it went to prove that human beings could in fact be born with that watery color. Ethan also had the tone down. The kid was built like a tank although his physique wasn't nearly large enough to support it. His forward fighting style was enough to bring him notice in the family, but not enough to give him many friends.
It was fate that brought these two brothers together again. They had not been best buddies at the compound, and if anything Kit may not have recognized him right away if not for the blue hair. In all honesty when Kit overheard the yelling he ran over not to help his brother, but to see why anyone would raise a baseball bat that high in the air. Watching as a gang of several boys beat down on an unarmed opponent, the blonds temper rose. What the hell was wrong with this city. He had met the most detestable human beings here, and they only seemed to grow in number.
"Get Off!"
He demanded, still unaware that his own flesh and blood was being pounded beneath them. The thugs seemed to stop momentarily at the sight of the lumbering muscular blond. He was easily taller than the men who had jumped Ethan. They were banking on the element of surprise and the extra power granted to them by their weapons. For a moment they all seemed to stop beating on Ethan, no longer seeing him as a big deal. Perhaps they thought he was in fact knocked out or no longer a threat, either way the focus was now on Saito to took a single step forward, his face stoic with frustration.
"Leave now, I won't tell you again"
It didn't take long for one of the men to throw what they were holding, a brick. The red half broken brick was lunged forward, and like a pop fly flew downwards at Kit, he held out his right arm full erect to catch it. Looking at the half a dozen thugs, Saito crushed the Brick. His grip on the tough rock had been tight enough to crack it in half, and from there into fourths. The inside of his hand bruised at the action, but it was worth it as several of the boys began to back up to where Ethan had been -And no doubt had recovered-
Still entirely unaware as to whom he had saved, Kit waited to see if the thugs would move forward on their plan. Their weapons and somewhat fit physical condition would make for an almost fair fight against the lumbering artist. Though they stood no chance, not with the monster they had undoubtedly awakened behind them now capable of fighting back.

The scuffle, if it could even be called that, though it really was more of a strait up beating for the moment, wasn't going well for Ethan. He'd been knocked breathless by the big thug carrying the bat and now the sixe of them were losing kicks into every part of his body they could. The boy at least managed to keep his head safe for the time being, covering up as best he could but the impacted to his arms, legs, chest, stomach and back hurt like hell and prevented him from getting a good breath back. Then just as abruptly as the punishment had started, he stopped and Ethan could make out the gruff voice of another man. The gang spread out, putting distance between them selves and the blue haired boy, giving the teen the precious seconds he needed to get his wit about him and a little air back into his body.
As his rescuer stared the gang members down, the ruckus erupted once again, this time from the rear of the group and this time initiated by the teen that had moment's ago been helpless to stop them. Lashing out with his legs, Ethan tripped the first thug up, sending him crashing to the ground, raised his right leg and in the moment before the cretan to react, brought his heel down hard on the man's chest, removing him from the conscious world. Next was the man currently stepping past to the opposite side. Finished with the first, Ethan pushed off of his inert form as he propped himself up on his left hand, also pushed off and launched himself bodily into the man, his right fist leading the way. Blood and at least two teeth as well as a thoroughly knocked silly thug were the result after the boy's fist crashed across his face. The thug's body crashed to the ground as Ethan landed in a crouch on top of the man and finished him, dropping his right elbow across the guy's face.
By this time the four remaining thugs likely knew they'd gotten themselves into trouble. As Ethan stood back up and turned to face the others the one who'd nearly knocked him out with the bat tried once more to drop the blue haired boy. Meanwhile the other three fiends, thinking there was safety in numbers, advanced on Kit. They'd been intimidated by his catching and crushing of a brick, but he couldn't take all three of them, not a chance, or so they thought.

The first thug being thrown several feet away from him was a sign that the person they had been beating was no longer being beaten. He had also taken the liberty of deciding it was time to fight back. Kit was not in the same mindset as he allowed the scrap to occur. He still hadn't seen the other person, but as long as that person didn't turn on Kit he was more than happy to assist. It wasn't until three of the thugs began to advance that Saito determined it was time to fight back. The two on either side had slipped out small chains, and the one in the middle, though invisible to Kit, had slipped on a pair of tightly bound brass knuckles.
Keeping his arms at his side, and staring down the unarmed opponent (Or so he thought) the chains quickly wrapped around either of his arms.
"If you do not unwrap me you will be seriously injured"
Saito at this point was more worried about their own safety. These men used weapons that common thugs used. He understood it to an extent. Chains and bats required little training and so were excellent makeshift weapons. The problem is that in the right hands these weapons were far more useful. The unarmed opponent threw a solid punch into Kits unguarded chest. The hit hurt worst than the man had been expecting, the brass knuckles would undoubtedly bruise the skin and deeper muscle. Wincing at his mistake, kit raised on arm and yanked it over his chest, effectively punching the first thug in the fact, and then rose his fist back into an upright position, striking the fighter with the chain whom had flown forward due to his tight grip. The final chain wielder was becoming concerned. Although a single punch had not taken his friends out, it had looked rather painful and the fact that this man had taken a strike to the chest was worrisome.
The poor fool would have little time to think about his choice as Saito crouched slightly and then brought his entire body into the air for not one but two solid kicks to the thug. The first landed in his stomach causing him to keel over, the second followed only a second after and struck upwards into the chin and sending the thug backwards, flipping several times in the air before landing hard on his own head. The other two thugs had begun to back up seeing the not remorseful thrashing their friend had just received. Unfortunately once Kit started he didn't stop, he had given them ample warning.
Picking up the chain dropped from the second victim, he wrapped it gently around his own knuckles. Having been trained in the basic art of armed combat he was more than capable of using a simple chain. One of the men turned, his attitude changing about the situation. "Lets get..." he couldn't finish his cowardly statement, it was too late. The chain wrapped around his neck as he turned around and yanked him towards Kit, who quickly bound the other end to a fire hydrant placed conveniently next to him. As the man struggled to breath, which was possible but entirely uncomfortable, the other decided running wasn't an option. He ran in head first, much to Saito's surprise, and began throwing punches of his own. Saito took the first two seeing as they were not being thrown by the same fighter whom had worn the brass knuckles. His right arm was strong enough to take the hits, and then as the third was thrown Kit did something he almost instantly regretted. He caught the boy's arm with his own forearm, and brought his leg up on the creese of the elbow.
CRAAACK
The noise was enough to pause fighting throughout the street. And the shriek of the teenagers scream that followed hurt Kit's ears. He had forgotten that these men were not trained fighters, and their bones were not as durable. Releasing the now sobbing thug to the ground, the man clenched his arm. It was now bending entirely the wrong way with a strip of sharp bone piercing out of his skin. His arm had not been broken, it had been destroyed. Saito suddenly felt terrible, in an attempt to help some poor street kid, he had accidentally maimed another. Actually looking around him, not a single one of these thugs appeared to be older that Kit...actually most of them might have been kids themselves.

Kit was on many levels a lot deeper then his younger half brother Ethan, one of those levels was his ability to feel compassion for the thugs he was beating up. Ethan on the other hand only felt satisfaction and an adrenalin rush, these six had attacked him without, as far as he knew, any provocation and in the process had gotten themselves in way over their heads. Cracking one's sternum and punching the teeth out of another was simply just punishment as far as the blue haired teen was concerned. There however were still four more to deal with, no, make that one, three of the others seemed to be engaged with his would be rescuer. Ethan made a mental note to help the guy out after he was done dealing with the current threat.
No sooner had the boy completed that thought then did the blunt end of the baseball bat come at him. It was another powerful jab intended to fold the boy over but Ethan was ready this time. Twisting quickly to the right to avoid the strike, the bat grazed by the teen's tensed midsection harmlessly and before the muscled thug could retract the bat, Ethan's left hand had firmly grasped it. Continuing to the spin into pirouette, Ethan brought himself completely around, bringing the bat to his back while his left hand remained in control of the weapon and delivered a vicious backhanded fist across the face of the muscled thug. No blood or teeth this time but the gang member did release his hold on the bat, stumbling away from the staggering blow. Ethan, never one to use weapons, simply chucked the bat further down the alley and assumed an actual fighting stance.
It was at this moment that both he and his attacker had a moment to take in the situation and it was one that almost made the thug wet himself. With just the distraction alone Ethan had managed to take out two of his guys and disarmed him and as the gangster glanced to the side he could see one of his buddies down and the other two struggling with the blonde distraction. It was indeed a realization of just how deep in they'd gotten themselves that made the muscled thug want to give up, but that wasn't something Ethan was going to have any part of. Sometimes he started fights yes, but if there was one thing he was taught, it was always finish the fights that you don't start and this one was about to be finished.
Ready for a proper fight now, Ethan had his arms raised in a boxing style posture about his head and even though he could tell the muscled thug didn't seem to want any part of him anymore in spite of being about twice as big, Ethan advanced. The exchange was almost anticlimactic, as Ethan closed the thug threw a powerful but sloppy round house that the blue haired boy ducked under and countered with a left and then a right strait into the man's poorly defended middle. Hi opponent's arms dropped to try and cover up and the boy went high, pulling back his left and throwing his elbow across the man's face. Ethan followed him to the ground, mounting the bigger man at the hips and paused only because of the crunch and scream from behind him. Either the last thug or the man that had distracted them had just met a painful end to their altercation. Not sure which one of them it was, Ethan decided to finish off his opponent quickly rather then drawing out the ground punishment. Dropping his left his into the man's solar plexus first and then this time using his right elbow against the side of the thug's skull, Ethan deposited the man firmly into a state of unconsciousness to match that or a few of his other friends.
Standing up, the blue haired teen breathed heavily, his skin still covered in sweat and now sporting several bruises over his arms, chest and back. He turned to see who it was that had been the final victor in the fight between the last three gang members and the blonde blur that had come to recue him, his fists still clenched and ready. To this moment though he hadn't gotten a good look at the man and it wasn't until now that the voice he'd heard twice registered as familiar. Elation, pure and unadulterated, lit up the boy's face as he set his gaze on the very brother he'd come to the city to find. Ethan thought he'd spend days if not weeks searching for Kit and yet there he was, right in front of him, all it took was a thoroughly unpleasant encounter with some of the city's wildlife.
"Kit!" the teen exclaimed and closed the distance to his older brother about to try and hug him as be babbled on. "Wow, did you see that? I was great! You were good too! Oh man, this is fantastic!"

Kit had bent over. His hand rooted through the pockets of the oldest looking thug in search of his wallet, and in turn his age. It wouldn't take long to pull the small leather pouch out of the boys left pocket. He opened it up and much to his dismay the boy was in fact seventeen years old. If he was really the oldest all this meant was Kit had beaten up helpless teenagers. Perhaps they had needed correction, but as the one boy still lay shaking on the ground, blood now pooling underneath him, Kit couldn't help but feel absolutely miserable with himself. Of course this feeling would only intensify as a sudden and horrifyingly familiar voice rang in his ears.
"Kit!"
It was an out of body experience really. The blondes eyes widened as his brain picked together the owner of that teenage voice. There was only one person he knew with that very same cocky enthusiasm. The blue hair was suddenly very visible and as the boy ran towards his older brother, Kit could only stand and watch the surreal moment happen. The last few weeks of helping others and hunting for world wide recognition in the martial arts tournament of his dreams had been for nothing. He had learned the evil that mankind possessed and for some time had considered returning to the compound. But now one of his own siblings had followed his poorly thought out example.
As Ethan wrapped his arms around Kits midsection the sweaty blond rose his hands up, almost as though he found Ethan contagious. It wasn't as though he had been a big hugger before, but especially in this situation. Well things were just becoming confusing. For starters he was entirely unsure as to why these thugs had picked Ethan to batter. Had he insulted their mother -A common choice of words in Ethan's case- or perhaps picked the fight himself? It also rose the question of how he actually got out of the compound. Had he fought with Masamune as well, had he bested their father? It had taken Kit 27 years of his life to accomplish that task, and now Ethan was waltzing about the central city with no care in the world. Of all the things Kit could have said, the only words that could form in his dry mouth were...
"Why are you here?"
His tone was firm, and as the blue haired teen looked up to meet his gaze Kit found himself stepping backwards in an attempt to pry himself out of the unwanted embrace. Was he crazy? If he hadn't beaten their father then perhaps he had just snuck out. Ethan had always talked about doing that and perhaps now he had finally done it. Not two weeks after leaving home and already he was pulling Ethan's ass out of the fire. It made no sense, out of all his siblings Ethan was the last he had expected to see out in the open like this.
"You need to go back to the compound. I don't know why you've ventured so far out. It is foolish to pick fights in a land you know nothing about."
Kit decided the only logical explanation here was that Ethan had started this spat, and Kito had gotten him out of it. He regretted having jumped in as soon as he did, perhaps Ethan could have used a few more bruises to remember his poor choices. Either way now was not the time to discuss it. Siren's rang out in the distance and the sudden realization of what he had done came crashing down on him. He had not defended an innocent boy, he had helped his teenage brother beat up some neighborhood hooligans, and in the process he had permanently damaged one of them.

Softy colliding chest to chest with his burly older brother, Ethan wrapped his arms around Kit, oblivious to the near horrified reaction the blonde was having. Sure Ethan knew Kit was just a plain old grump sometimes but it never registered that his older brother didn't particularly care for his company. After all He and Ethan ad spent so much time together, granted it was time Ethan sort of forced on the blonde and most of the time he did all of the talking but Kit had never actually told Ethan to stop so as far as the blue haired boy was concerned they were two peas in a pod, just that one was a quiet old grump. So it was no surprise that Ethan took no notice of the Kit's reaction to the hug and equally no surprise when he responded to his older brother's question with an almost sickeningly chirpy tone.
"Why? I'm here to find you of course. I wanted to see you fight in the tournament. I want to see you win it. You beat Jin after all and..." the boy babbled on until he was cut off by Kit's insistence that he return to the compound. At once Ethan's expression when from euphoria to one of being completely crestfallen. Why would Kit not want him to be here? What was so dangerous about being far from the compound other then the colorful people. Neither did he understand why Kit thought he had started the fight. While there still was the possibility he'd somehow insulted these thugs by not hearing them, it was no cause for them to attack him the way they had and Ethan was going to set that part strait.
"What? I don't want to go home, I just found you." the teen started, hearing the sirens in the distance but not comprehending their meaning. "I came out here to be with you big Brother, you're the best and I wanted to see you win. And I didn't start this, these jerks chased me here. I was just walking and they surrounded me. I don't start every fight I get into you know." Ethan continued, protesting being accused of starting the fight. Releasing Kit, the blue haired boy stepped back and checked his headphones to make sure that they hadn't been damaged in the scuffle while Kit no doubt came up with something grumpy to say, he seemed to be in that kind of mood. Sometimes he wondered if being grumpy like that was what it took to be the best and if it did, Ethan wouldn't mind being second as long as he could still have fun.

As the sirens grew closer, and the groans of his fallen opponents became almost unbareably loud to him, Kit was forced to listen to Ethan's explanation. Granted it was a flattering one, Kit certainly wasn't opposed to having an audience, if anything it brought him back to the admiration his siblings had given him. So many of them treated him as though he were a God among men and Ethan was one of them. The younger brother had made his case and Kit was hardly in a position to tell him otherwise. What was he going to do now? Tell Ethan that there was no tournament? That his father hadn't been removed from the roster, the roster had simply disappeared? The thought was unbelievable and yet it was exactly as it seemed. The tournament had been gone for decades and Kit had come all this way for nothing.
"Dammit"
He grumbled under his breath. It was rare for kit to curse, he rarely did so unless he was in an impossibly frustrating situation and this was easily one of those times. His fist clenched again at the idea that he had made a fool of himself again, and as the sirens blared on he finally made the last connection that he would now be arrested for defending his brother. No matter whose fault it was, it never looked good for a twenty seven year old to be standing over the battered bodies of six teenagers. Ethan could have gotten away with it, but Kit would likely be incarserated. And just as well. He didn't have anywhere else to go. He sure as hell wasn't returning to the compound, and he certainly wasn't going to be able to live a normal life among the people of Central City. Everything was too strange and different. The people were mostly unpleasant and on top of everything else he didn't have a particularly useful skill other than fighting. He was a very basic handyman but that wasn't something he wanted to do for the rest of his life. The adrenaline of a good fight was something nothing could replace.
"You shouldn't have come out Ethan. Your mother must be worried sick. I don't need anyone cheering in the stands. You should go before those sirens show up. No need for you to be punished as well"
At the very least he could ensure his brother made it out of this neighborhood, if nothing else. He didn't hate Ethan, or any of his siblings for that matter, but he wasn't prepared to babysit him and try to figure things out. Things were already confusing enough without throwing the shirtless boy wonder into the mix. Ethan always treated his fights more like a game which really tore at Kit. He always had the results to back up his foolish behavior, but that didn't make him any more appealing to be around.

Ethan was right on the money when he assumed Kit would go right on being grumpy, bringing up his mother and going on to claim he didn’t want the boy at the tournament. That’s not what caught the blue haired boy’s attention though, no it was the word Kit used to preface his response. Kit had always been so proper when it came to etiquette so when he cursed it was a serious issue. Maybe it was these sirens he was talking about. Ethan could hear the sound approaching but his understanding of the outside world, while probably better then Kit’s in some areas, didn’t encompass the meaning of the blaring hors as they closed on the trouble spot. Still, Ethan wasn’t going to let his big brother just stand there and brood if danger was approaching. Normally he’d try to cheer the blonde up and suggest fighting what ever these sirens were, but Kit had used the word ‘punished,’ meaning he felt that there was nothing they could do to stop the sirens. “I don’t want to leave you Kit.” the teen started and stepped back towards his brother. Reaching out, Ethan aimed to take hold of one of Kit's hand and then try to tug him along further down the alley so they might both get away. "Come on Kit, no reason for either of us to get punished at all and if I can get away then you've got a least one chance in three." the blue haired boy commented, implying with a comedic note that he was faster then his bulkier, older brother. Ethan didn't know what these sirens were but if his brother thought that one of them could get away he wasn't about to leave the other behind.

Kit let out a deep sigh. His chest inhaling and rising as the warm summer air passed through his nose and then released out of his mouth. He found breathing therapeutic. A person capable of controlling their breathing could also control their running speed and endurance. In this case however it allowed him to think. Like his younger brother running had entered his mind. Unlike his brother he knew those sirens were police officers coming to check out the situation. He could easily outrun the police. His speed, although very possibly slower than Ethan, was still at least as fast as a speeding car. Part of his training at home had been to race their oldsmobile down the mountainside, and then up hill once more. For weeks he had pushed himself running with the vehicle as it taunted him with gears that allowed easy access to hills and cliffs. The advantage Kit had over vehicles was sharp turns and of course running through places that cars couldn't go. They were hardly going to drive through a neighbors yard to catch him, and Kit would never stick to the roads.
The problem was not with his inability to get away, it was with his own integrity. After taking another deep breath his eyes peered over at the boy whom he had truly injured. He had slumped against a nearby pecan tree and was breathing softly, hardly awake due to his loss of blood. No Kit needed to answer for this. He had gone overboard and now it was time to answer for it. At the very least he had to ensure the boy would be alright. He shook his head at Ethan, not saying a word to him. If the blue haired child knew his older brother even a little he could read the stoic expression on his face. Kit wasn't going to run from what was coming, he was going to accept his fat. Breaking his standing silence, the older brother began to gather those who were unconcsious and pair them gently around the tree. Each person holding up the body of the person next to each other. Those that were awake were taken out to the street and placed gently on the sidewalk to ensure that they were seen. The tree provided a nice shade that those unconscious needed in order to lessen the shock to their system.
By the time he was finished, assuming that Ethan had stayed as his stubborn personality suggested, a police car had arrived. Due to the very docile nature of Kits movements, the officers pulled over to the side and stepped out rather casually. They began to walk towards the tall blond man, but before they could utter a word they caught a glimps of the injure teenager, his arm still jetting painfully out of the side of his skin. Speaking into the radios attached to their shirt the two uniforms approached Saito, one of them clasping the handle of a sidearm that was still gently in his sleeve.
"We got a call about a street fight, did...you do all this?"
Saito didn't miss a beat. His moral code wouldn't have allowed him to lie about his involvement, but certainly about Ethan's. He held both hands out in front of him as if accepting the inevitable hand cuffs and slowly nodded his head. The officer who had originally had a hand over his gun was shocked at the much larger mans willingness to cooperate.
"These young boys were attacking my brother. I went overboard in protecting him. He had nothing to do with this"
Saito may not have cared much for Ethan in the compound, but out here family was not as abundant, and he felt it was his duty to protect the boy at all costs. They were after all brothers, even if only by half blood. The officer stepped forward and clasped Saito with the cuffs, and assuming no fuss was raised by Ethan would walk Saito to the car. The second officer began looking over the boys and within a minute more sirens were heard, this time they were larger van like vehicles preparing to take the injured boys away. Soon enough with those ambulances came cars carrying the mothers and fathers of these injured boys. As all of these people began arriving on the scene, the other blue uniform walked up to Ethan.
"If you aren't afraid of him, you can go to the car and wait with your brother. We are going to finish up here and then I can drive you home before we take him up to the office"

Although Ethan took Kit's hand, no amount of tugging seemed like it was going to move his older brother. In fact as soon as that rhythmic huffing and puffing Kit called breathing started, the blue haired boy knew he was going to have a hard time getting his brother to leave with him. Worse still, the determined look on his face and the accompanying head shake told Ethan that Kit's mind was made up, he could tug all he wanted but when the blonde decided he wanted to do something grumpy there wasn't anything the kid could do to dissuade him. Letting go of Kit's hand and standing off to the side, Ethan watched as Kit started to gather the beaten thugs together, confused as to why his brother wanted to show them even an ounce of kindness after they'd attacked both of them. Still, Kit had been in the city longer, perhaps these sirens, what ever they were could be appeased by gathering their fallen foes. It wasn't out of kindness though that Ethan hauled the muscled thug who'd used the bat on him, up and dragged him to the tree with it others, it was simply to give his brother and hand and that was all. As soon as the six were gathered, Ethan stood back against one of the alley walls and folded his arms over his chest, looking about as grumpy as his brother did sometimes.
The sirens were upon them in no time and then at once Ethan realized his mistake, the sirens weren't some monsters the people of the city let roam loose, they were the police. Some of the radio programs Ethan had listened to featured police stories, but they were always the good guys and so were Kit and Ethan so the blue haired boy was now plagued by a new confusion, why was Kit acting as if he was going to be punished? So far nothing about this city was making much sense, gangs of hooligans that attack at random for no reason, police that Kit felt were going to punish him, and then there was the smell...
The boy's ponderings were shaken as the officers stepped out of their vehicles and spoke with his brother. Kit told them everything that happened but much to Ethan's dismay, the officers put cuffs on him and led him to one of the cars. Ethan gripped his sides tightly now, his confusion breeding anger, why would they arrest Kit for defending himself? The boy had half a mind to start yelling at the officers that they were arresting the wrong guy but Kit's whole attitude told him he should probably keep quiet, he was taking the blame himself, not that he should be blamed for self defense. A moment later and one of the officers was in front of the shirtless teen asking of all ridiculous things, if he was afraid of him. Ethan gave the officer a sour stare and responded in kind.
"Of course I'm not afraid of him, he's my brother, he's not some maniac that goes around breaking people's arms you know..." the boy replied, vitriol heavy in his voice. "I want to stay with him, he didn't do anything wrong, unless protesting yourself is illegal in the city." he continued and answered the second half of the officer's question. "And I don't know how to get home on the roads, I came across the hills."

The sirens had finally subsided. Thank God. The blarring was giving him a headache. Actually it was nice to sit in the back of the cop car, it was in fact air conditioned and the seats were surprisingly accomodating considering who was supposed to be sitting on it. Criminals certainly were treated nicer than he would have thought...granted he had never considered himself a criminal either. The idea was disheartening but then again it wasn't completely terrible. He had after all only accidently injured the other boy. Well even that was only a half truth. He had fully intended to break the childs arm, he was after all actively attacking both himself and Ethan, but he hadn't known the boy was well...just a boy!
It didn't matter, whats done was done and now he would pay the consequences. At least he knew that Ethan was safe and...entering the car.
What the hell!?
His thoughts were exasperated as the teen sat next too him in the car, escorted by one of the officers. Ethan sure was stubborn, even when he was given a clear out he still had to follow Kit. Why wouldn't he just go home? Of course Kit knew the answer, it was the same reason he would rather be in jail than return to that awful place. It hadn't been that terrible, but knowing what was present in the world was too much to let go of and undoubtedly Ethan had learned similar truths while he was out. If he too had come to recognize that the compound was nothing more than a cult then the inevitability of his staying would need to become a reality for Kit. He wouldn't even look at Ethan at first, and undoubtedly the chatterbox would begin talking in order to break the silence. His own temper beginning to rise he snapped at the teen.
"Ethan why didn't you leave like I told you too! This isn't a game. Its not safe out here and i'm not going to babysit you."
His words were uncensored and a little callous. Even after saying them Kit felt a little empathy for the boy. It didn't change the situation they were both in though. He needed to understand that this was very real. If Kit was going to convince him to go home this would be the only chance he would get. His words had to hit home now or forever fall on deaf ears. If he hadn't been mesmerized by the world around him, there was still hope.
Meanwhile around them parents were beginning to appear around them. Their children still being loaded on ambulance vans. Kit couldn't help but notice their arrival and felt a knot in his stomach. The poor mother who had to claim the boy he had injured would undoubtedly be devastated. At least the teen hadn't died, or so Kit hoped, not everyone could survive a snapped limb piercing their own skin. He could only hope that the teens resolve was strong enough to hold it together while the hospital did its job.

Guided to the same car Kit had been placed into, Ethan followed the officer and took a seat in the vehicle next to his brother. He wasn't exactly sure what to expect since the few programs he'd listened to on his music player's radio didn't go into in depth descriptions about police procedure. Hopefully they wouldn't be detained long, Ethan didn't want to sit though a real life version of one of those boring lawyer programs and neither did he want his brother to actually be put in jail. He'd done nothing wrong after all and if Kit was guilty of some crime by defending himself then the blue haired teen was just as guilty. Ethan's train of thought was again interrupted as he was trying to find the right words to scold his older brother with for getting himself into such a stupid predicament, but the older of the two beat him to the scolding, firing off first with questions about why Ethan hadn't gone home and stating that he wasn't going to babysit him. At once the blue haired boy shot his brother back an icy glare and barked back.
"Oh come off it, you know I'm not just going to leave you here." Ethan started. "Besides, why would I go back to that loony bin? I've been talking about getting out and seeing the world since I realized there was a world out here to see, and I probably would have left anyway if you hadn't beaten me to it. And I don't want you babysitting me, I can take care of myself. I at least knew enough to want to leave. Why the heck did you just stick around? You know they're just going to blame the whole thing on you."

"Ethan..."
What could he say, the younger brother was right. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to leave the compound, and for good reason. His father had twisted what could have been a remarkable idea into something flawed and psychologically damaging. Kit hadn't understood the kind of world that existed outside of the compound walls. His short and rare trips to other towns and villages had been limited to his visual perception on the ride there and back. That simply hadn't been enough to prepare him. His fists tightened and unintentionally his sudden pull broke the handcuffs through the connective links. It was only a crack but another move would easily rip the steel off of his hands. The officer in the front seat hadn't noticed, and the car remained in park while the other officer spoke with the parents of the teenagers who were finally being picked up by the EMT's that arrived.
Kit watched as the parents reacted to the sight of their children beaten on the ground, and suddenly his guilt seemed to vanish. Even the boy with the broken arm was being scolded from the looks of it. Perhaps even the parents saw this as their own doing. Could it even be possible that they would have so little empathy for their children that they would punish them in addition to the punishment that had already been dealt? It hardly seemed important now anyway, nothing was going to get Kit out of assaulting a minor (or six).
"If you are staying then I sure as hell am babysitting"
Though his tone was still annoyed, he had conceded. How could he demand that Ethan go back to a place that he himself wouldn't. At least he could ensure that nothing too terrible happened to his little brother. Perhaps he could even convince him over time to return to the compound simply by showing him the depravity of the world. Of course that had the opposite effect on Kit who was now certain that he would never return, he had to do more good to others and he simply couldn't if he was stuck inside the walls of the compound.
"You're free to go"
Kit stirred at the sound of the voice behind him at the barred window. The other officer had returned and explained to them that the other children had admitted to their parents to have jumped Ethan. It was some sort of initiation gone wrong and both Ethan and Kit had every right to defend themselves, even to the extent that they had. Frankly the officer was impressed that Kit had possessed the ability to snap the boys arm like a twig and hadn't done so to his neck. The officer moved to remove the handcuffs but found as he touched them that the metal chain in between broke apart. Kit let out a nervous grin, to which the officer in stunned silence simply continued to undo the remaining cuffs.

The moment Kit paused after saying his name the blue haired boy just knew he wasn't getting through to his older brother. By the time the blonde started speaking again Ethan was already opening his mouth to try and cut him off with a pithy explanation of just why the compound was a loony bin but to the blue haired boy's surprise, Kit agrees with him. He don't it in a backhanded 'Great, now I have to take care of you.' kind of way but Kit did agree with him, it was enough to halt Ethan in his verbal tracks. The boy continued to sit there for a moment with his jaw hanging open and a silly, look on his face as an officer returned and added to his surprise. The officer announced that Kit was free to go and in the process drove Ethan from simply being confused as to how to respond to Kit saying he was right, to completely dumbfounded.
"Wait... What?..." were the only words that escaped the boy's mouth as he sat there trying to figure out just what was going on. Was he dreaming? Did he pass out in the car? Couldn't be, he'd been hit way harder before in training and was rarely ever knocked out, surely never so in a delayed fashion, se he wasn't dreaming, this really was happening. Kit was arrested, agreed with him and now was free to go. Still sitting there looking confused, Ethan watched as the officer removed Kit's already broken cuffs, a detail the blue haired boy had missed up until now and then waited to be let out of the car. Once out and provided Kit or he didn't get caught up in answering any more questions, Ethan intended to put a little distance between himself and the scene, hopefully leading Kit along.
"Ok... What the hell is going on?" Ethan started once they were again moving towards the taller buildings of the city, his headphones staying off for the time being so he could talk to his brother. "First you beat up Jin, good job on that by the way, remind me not to stand at ring side when you fight, Then when I find you, you just let your self get arrested. What is up with that? How are you going to fight in the tournament with a police record?"
