The probability of a Saiyan warrior reaching the fabled transformations of Super Saiyan was far less than even one tenth of a percent. That is what logic dictated, but before her stood two of them. Within seconds of each other the two warriors Ninjin Hattori and Conri Lane ascended to mythical status, a state that had only been achieved by a few in the past. As unexpected as it was there was a strange pattern when compared to the hero’s of old. Fully updated on the Saiyans of ages past Ona knew that several of the mythical Super Saiyan’s had existed at once, ages ago. In the past few days three Saiyan’s had ascended to the heightened state. First was Akassa Hattori and now she was followed by these two. Was their some sort of reason behind these clustered transformations or was it simply a random coincidence?
Ona would need to ponder this later. With the gathering of opposite sides of the table it was only a matter of time before one made a move that threw the others into the inevitable combat. From the moment the invaders had arrived on Mement Mor she had known there was going to be a fight. Now that they were gathered it only needed a trigger, an action to push them all past the threatening words and statements of bravado. The android she had been glancing at since they had arrived was the one to do so. Raising the pistol he wielded, a surprising weapon for one so mechanically advanced, the metal man with blonde hair levels the weapon at the back of his like haired foe. Ona herself had no intentions of saying anything to warn the human Cardinal, his death his own failure if that was to be the result. Invictus had other plans, the boy lunging to the side in a roll just as the android fires. The warning had been sent telepathically, but she was intelligent enough to know what had transpired. If Sebastian had been incapable of defeating them on Belegost he was far from able to sense the android behind him.
With another spike of power Invictus unleashes his blast at the Saiyan warriors, unafraid to attack them with the others so close. Like the powerful Cardinal she was not afraid of any of those gathered, even if they outclassed her in power. Emotion was not something that was part of the advanced mind that she possessed. Fear, sadness, excitement, and every other emotion that most biological beings experienced would never hinder the android. Barely granted an extension on his life Sebastian was quick to follow Invictus’ order as he dives to tackle the human that now wore his coat. If he defeated the boy, but somehow did not retrieve the sacred garment then Ona planned to petition the others to carry out a punishment. Such a gift from Aon was not something to be handed over to foes willingly.
While Sebastian was given his orders as were the rest, Ona received the one she had expected. From the moment she had arrived she had wished to speak with the android that was her counterpart in this whole ensemble. With his kill shot on the blonde having been narrowly avoided the android might try for a follow up shot even as the human tackled the other from the roof. If he did Ona moves to intercept, dropping down with her shield at the ready if he were to fire again. The durable metal equipped with her impressive strength was enough to handle the projectile his gun could fire, her body positioned between him and the humans as they disappear off the side of the roof.
Blue eyes locking calmly with his the Cardinal slowly smiles. A peaceful gesture, not one with any real emotion behind it, but with the hopes of getting him to lower his weapons so that the pair may talk. Having countless androids under her control Ona was something of a collector, one always looking to add more to her lot. Compared to her others this one was incredibly powerful, the rest in her collection more or less foot soldiers. If there was a way to get him to see the light, to aid the Universal Church of One in their cause then Aon would truly be pleased. The death of two Super Saiyan’s, their allies and the recruitment of a powerful new android, that is what Ona calculated as the most probably outcome.
”Unlike the others I only wish to speak with you. You, like me, must realize that we above all others here have the ability to work this out with words. There is no reason for either of us lay a hand on the other.” Her shield did not lower, and her other hand gently held her blade. She was confident he would choose to speak with her, but she needed to protect herself in case she had misread him. After all, not all androids were as advanced as she.

Bang!
The android shot without warning. The compressed bullet of energy ricochet through the muzzle of his pistol and rippled through the air as it approached the back of Sebastian’s head. It was done, he thought. There was no way the cardinal would know he had been behind him with a gun leveled at his head. Right now, as the bullet traveled through the air, the sound of his gun was also traveling towards his ears, but they would not reach them until there was a gaping hole through his forehead. Even if someone had seen him and called out to warn the blond human, they could never speak in time and he could never live long enough to understand and process what they had been trying to warn him about.
Regardless, although it was impossible, inexplicable and unfathomable, the blond human ducked to the right, and Model Zero’s energy bullet missed by the length of a hair. The android was baffled. There was no way he could have known, it defied all logic. Then, before he could act again, he became distracted by Invictus Maneo, who had strategically unleashed a colossal sphere of incandescent flames upon his comrades. Immediately after, the man’s armor glowed a deep red and his power-level skyrocketed even further beyond their grasp. This was definitely the saiyan’s fight, there was no doubt about it. The rest of them had no place in a battle of such caliber and it only served as feedback to the android. This is the power I need, he thought. This is the power he must surpass if he’s going to follow through with his master’s plans.
The android only looked long enough to listen to Invictus’ answer to Mr. Watson. “They are dead, shot from the skies as you all should have been fore you sullied Mor with your sacrilege. As dead as you will be in moments,” Invictus said. At last, that was all they needed, the android thought. Mission Complete. Their task was to retrieve the lost group ‘if possible’. The real mission was to find out what had happened to them. There was no way they could have prevented the crew’s death. Zero’s eyes shifted away from the airborne battle and descended upon Sebastian. There was nothing holding him back now. With their mission done and all of their doubts dissipating, the android had no reason to keep anything back. Now they needed to return to Alpha Prime and report their findings to Prometheus, however, the Universal Church of One was standing in their way.
Zero leveled his pistol again, preparing to make the next shot before Sebastian decided to power up. However, in an instant, the woman he had seen earlier landed on his line of fire with her buckler shield held high. Zero did not pull the trigger, but he did not lower his aim either. He watched as Sebastian disappeared into the distance with Kurosanai. They were the only ones of the rooftop now, left with plenty of space for the battle to come. His coal-black eyes locked with her blues and her matching lips curled into a smirk. He could tell from her demeanor, that they were the same. “Unlike the others I only wish to speak with you,” she said. “You, like me, must realize that we above all others here have the ability to work this out with words. There is no reason for either of us lay a hand on the other.”
Model Zero thought about it, considering that perhaps it was a trick to make him lower his guard. In spite of this, he held his saber next to him and would be prepared for any attack she may attempt. There was also no reason why she would lie to him. If her intentions were to kill, she wouldn’t have wasted time saving Sebastian, instead, she would have struck him with that blade of hers. The android nodded and lowered his pistol to the side. He stood straight, facing the odd woman. His long golden hair flaunted in the wind that rushed over the rooftops.

“I have my master’s orders and you have yours. We threaten your people. What is there to talk about?”
“You.”
“I am my own master and I have seen you do nothing to threaten my own people minus a Cardinal who could adequately preform his assigned duty.” As slight pause before she continues. “My peers refer to me by the name Ona, something you may do as well. My initial assessment tells we are not so different android, do you have a name you preferred to be called?” Her blue eyes never wavering and never blinking as she speaks to him. Shield still held up before her she seemed almost a statue if it were not for her moving lips. Unlike a biological creature there were no wasted movements in her life, not twitches of her muscles of shifts of her feet to redistribute her weight. The only part of her body over which she did not exert such control was the orange-red hair that ran down to her jaw line, the thin strands tossing in the wind some just as her counterparts long golden locks.
Somewhat controlled chaos erupted all around them, the various other fighters taking to the sky or elsewhere to engage in combat. From her scan of the emotion in their voices and the body language they had all so poorly controlled each of the fights would end only with the death of one half. While the Saiyan’s boasted their newly achieved power and Invictus carried out Aon’s will the two androids were all but motionless on the rooftop. Ona saw it as another example of how she, and perhaps this blonde android, was superior. If she could not convince him to join with her and they two came to blows their fight would be the optimal example of what combat should be. Similar to their conversation at the moment no actions would be wasted and no unneeded boasts about ones ideals being superior to another would be uttered. In the end, when one had fallen the fight was an event that was no more significant than any other in their life.
This was true if she had read her counterpart correctly.
From her experience with androids, an area in which she was quite well versed, the programmed typed with no free will of their own were limited. All the soldiers of the Universal Church of One could only be so strong, never powerful enough to challenge a Cardinal or a member of the Saiyan family. They were fodder, repairable and replicable fodder in times of war. The scanning device built in her skull had revealed how powerful this one was when she had arrived hence her immediate interest in him. Ona had always believed she was not unique in the Universe, the almost endless possibilities of planets and creatures almost making that a certainty. Looking at him now, how he seemed to act without the direct command of another, (although someone could be controlling him from afar) she believed that he was different the masses she controlled. Such a subject could not be obliterated without first investigating. If he proved to be a simple machine with an abundance of power than she would not hesitate to slice him apart. However, if her assessment was correct then recruiting him for the Church was in their best interest…and his.

She stood still and steady without a wasted motion as chaos broke out all around them. They were at the eye of the tornado, destruction evident at every corner except their own. The strange woman managed to gain the android’s interest as she expressed the desire to speak about him. Zero could understand this curiosity she experienced. He had seen many ‘androids’ in the past, but they were nothing but mindless robots designed to perform a single mundane task over and over again. In his earlier days, he had attempted conversation with a microwave, however, that effort was in vain. There was only one creature with such similarity that he had met, IIshavoh. Regardless, his memories of their encounter were wiped from his mind by the man he called master.
So yes, he could understand her desire, because he possessed that same desire himself. Her orange-red hair fluttered in the wind as she stood with shield held high and spoke. “I am my own master and I have seen you do nothing to threaten my own people minus a Cardinal who could adequately preform his assigned duty.” She said, pausing slightly continuing. “My peers refer to me by the name Ona, something you may do as well. My initial assessment tells we are not so different android, do you have a name you preferred to be called?”
“My name is Zero,” he replied. In previous circumstances, he might have said ‘Man’, but recent events had made him reconsider his identity. It was that guy, the one he saw in his visions, the one he spoke to during Belegost, the one who gave him the strength to get back up although he had accepted defeat. However, that was neither there nor here, the android’s mind was fixated with his current conversation. “You claim to be your ‘own’ master, however I find this to be rather inaccurate. If you were your own master, why follow Invictus’ orders? Who created you?”
The only reason Zero would go all the way out here just to find out that a missing crew had been shot out of the sky by the Universal Church of One, is because he was ordered to do so by his superiors. Otherwise, he lacked the drive and interest to perform such a fruitless and timewasting task. Regardless, his curiosity was rekindled with the appearance of this android woman. If her creator was not amongst the rank of the Cardinals, then how did she become involved with the Universal Church of One? If she was an android like him, then she would have no interest in aiding an organization towards the genocide of an entire race. If she were like him, she wouldn’t follow a deity through sheer faithfulness.
The only people Zero followed were his master and the people his master ordered him to follow. If Ona was really free from another’s thumb, if she acted from her own free will, what led her to willingly follow Aon and the Cardinals?

“You misunderstand Zero. Invictus directed me to apprehend you as he believes you might be of use to the Universal Church of One. This was my conclusion from the second I laid eyes upon you so his orders happen to coincide with the decision I had already made. Unlike his desire to use you though, I wish to convince you to work with me.” Her shield lowering some as she speaks so that she may seem less threatening as her actions reinforce her words. Still unblinking she glances around them, the various fighters spreading out a bit more as they are left with even more space in their current safe zone.
With powerful warriors like Invictus, Conri Lane and Ninjin Hattori there was a very good chance they might be caught up in crossfire if they did not remain aware of their surroundings. With her focus returning to him Ona speaks again in order to answer his last question. Answer being a relative term since the truth of her creation was something she revealed to no one, not even the other Cardinals or Warlock herself knew where Ona had come from. In fact none of them even knew the real reason she had joined the Church in the first place. While they opposed races like the Saiyans, ones who were not pure and unnatural, she believed that androids were superior to all. The Universal Church of One was simply a means to an end, a group she could affiliate herself with until she no longer had need of them. Ona was timeless, immortal, a trait that the other Cardinals did not share.
“Who created me is of little consequence. The same goes for whoever created you. As I stated before I am interested in you Zero, do you not find the fact I exist intriguing?” Did he not desire to know more about the machine that stood before him, one that resembled him so much in design minus their chosen gender? Ona’s own curiosity was of course only scientific. Such desires as companionship and friendship were a waste of one’s time and not even a part of her being. She did not wish to go as far as taking him apart or modifying him, but only to observe and communicate so that she might learn more about how such an advanced android might exist.
The Cardinal knew her own story, yet she hypothesized his was different. IN the past she had attempted to make others with the same capacities she possessed, but despite her vast knowledge she had failed each time. There was something she was missing in her creations, that part that ultimately made her so different from most. With no scientific evidence to back up the hypothesis she would need to find out more about him. Hopefully she would be able to work information from him, androids not exactly known for being a talkative lot.

As the android spoke, Zero remained motionless and stoic. Like her, he had been aware of his surroundings at all times. The presence of unpredictable powerful beings like Conri, Ninjin, and Invictus meant they must be mindful of their position in space. Standing in the wrong place, at the wrong time, could mean their end in flash of light. Zero observed her features and studied her movements. Ona’s slim and curvaceous figure was fixed within leather-like garments strapped together. Long matching boots over blue jeans and a piece of tattered blue fabric falling from her waist like a cape. She wielded a buckler shield and a rapier. There was nothing at all peculiar about her appearance except the unnaturally orange hair and markings as blue as her lips, tracing up her right arm and continuing at the neck. If she had any hidden compartments like Zero’s left arm, then they were expertly hidden from sight. Her light and compact frame spoke a thousand words in regards to her speed and agility.
On the other hand, Zero was a little less complex in clothing – a little less fashionable if at all. His red jacket had been disintegrated during his battle against Tycho back in Belegost and so now he only possessed a fresh black skin-tight suit to replace his previous, his arm bracers, long red boots, and his chipped helmet. His eyes were as black as coal and his hair as gold as the saiyans that fought Invictus. If they stripped away all of the armor and clothing that covered their bodies, how different were they truly? It seemed the android had secretly yearned for the company of another like himself. He had searched for that ‘thing’ which separated him from the rest, but he had failed to find it in the modern world’s industrial machines. It appeared Ona was on the same quest. It appeared she could not fully understand herself, what made her so special. What made them so special? Zero thought that comparing their creators might shed some light, but alas she refused to disclose that information and asked him to do the same.
Looking around one final moment, everyone was preoccupied in their own fights. The crew they were sent to find had been long gone before they even set out on Prometheus’ quest. There was no hurry, there was no reason why he couldn’t stop and learn something about himself. Perhaps, he thought, I would like to know… what makes us the same…

"First and foremost I have several questions for you. If you are willing to answer them it is only fair you get to ask questions of your own." The android had intentionally passed his question about who had created her. The androids interest in her origins were something usable to her own advantage. Considering he has inquired and that he had not made a move to attack her yet Zero was interested in learning more about her. As long as he answered honestly, that of course dependent on her assessment of his answers, than she would do the same. Prepared to talk a bit more in depth now her shield bearing arm drops to her side.
“ Why is it your group is really here? Such a powerful and diverse assortment of individuals hardly seems to fit the part of a recovery team." The strength the group boasted as a whole was far beyond that of your average ship crew. Whoever had sent them must have seen this as well. If they had travelled to any other planet the group would have contained enough power to take over. A coincidence? Ona did not believe so. This guise of looking for a lost team, whether they realized it or not, was far from a believable cover.
Should she believe his response and if he were to ask a question of his own Ona would reply in kind. There was much to be learned about the Cardinal, many things her co-cardinals knew nothing about. The reason behind the secrets of her past were not so much because she chose to keep them so, but because none had delved deeply enough to get the answers. That was not to say Zero might stand here and question her for days, but he might read her more correctly than the rest. Days was most likely a luxury they would not be awarded, the battles going on around them a constant threat. For the moment though their rooftop chat room was safe.
As she awaited his answer Ona saw more than just the blonde android standing before her. Countless eyes watches the area from the outskirts of the city, all feeding what they saw into her head. With a mind far superior to an organic one she was able to watch them all, very aware of their surroundings. For the time being she wanted to keep them both safe so any threat to their well being would not be hidden from the other android. Having countless machines at ones disposal had many advantages, one of which was the ability to have eyes and ears everywhere.

“You’re mistaken,” Zero responded promptly. Seeing as they were now exchanging information, he had no qualms with telling her the truth. After all, whether or not either of them were using each other was beside the point. At the end of the day, they would either become allies or one would perish by the hands of the other. He responded to her fully and to the point, expecting her to return the favor. He knew what questions might arise after his answer, so he would anticipate them and answer them in an effort to accelerate their conversation. There was no telling how much longer their exchange would persist before something interrupted them and they were both on a mission to extract as much information from each other as possible. The more information Ona provided him, the more he would reveal.
“It had been some time now since Prometheus Zex, Lord of Alpha Prime, detected two unidentified planets; as you may have guessed, these planets were Belegost and Mement Mor. Lord Zex, wealthy entrepreneur looking for opportunities, sent a crew to probe this new land in search for civilization. If the planets were inhabited, he sought to open communications. Shortly after his crew arrived to your solar system, he lost connection with them. Fearing for the worst, he decided to send us to search for this crew. As you can see, he understood that this mission would most likely be dangerous. In an effort to ensure our safe return, we were selected to recover the lost crew. When we arrived to Belegost, we met Sebastian. He helped us and explained that, although he had not heard of the lost crew, they had a sister planet called Mement Mor. He thought we might find our missing crew there, but then he discovered a saiyan was amongst us and so he engaged the saiyan in battle. Honestly, I have no interest in the annihilation of your people. I was sent to find out what had happened to the lost crew and now that I have learned of their demise, I would rather head back. Regardless, things became personal rapidly as Conri Lane and his friends learn of the Universal Church of One and your goals. So yes, although it may seem hard to believe, we were –in fact- sent here to retrieve a lost crew.”
Zero remained silent, allowing his fellow android to assimilate all of the information she had received. He was confident that she would be pleased with his willingness to answer and the volume and quality of his answer. His eyes communicated that to her and so he expected the same in return. There were many things he could possibly ask, but there was one thing that urged him the most. “Now, it’s my turn,” he stated, “You mentioned that you are your own master. If what you say is true, I find it rather odd that you would choose to affiliate yourself with an organization such as this. Who exactly is this Aon, and why do you follow him?”
Zero found the Universal Church of One to be rather interesting for the sole reason that they targeted the saiyans. Ivan had created Zero for that same purpose, and for that reason he understood why the saiyans were their target. Ivan had explained time and time again how the saiyans were unpredictable and violent creatures who could not be left wandering the universe. At first, Model Zero simply took him for his word, but then he began to meet saiyans and discover just how unreasonably violent they are. However, Zero only followed and obeyed Ivan because he was his master and creator. He couldn’t imagine an android or machine who did not have an owner until he met Ona, which made him wonder why she would willingly offer her services to some organization. In all honesty, if he was not owned, he didn’t know what he would do with his existence.
Ultimately, he foresaw a future alliance with the Universal Church of One and Ona had as well, this was the reason why she wished to speak to him. If their goals were aligned, why not work together?

Ona was glad to hear the truth from him. The Church knew plenty about Prometheus Zex and the foul station that he had created. While they did not like the way in which he ruled, the crime that he allowed to prosper, there was no reason to move against him. Saiyans and Half-Saiyans had of course infiltrated the stations he created and those around it, but that was far from his fault. The foul creatures had inhabited all the known places in the galaxy, save the Church’s own planets of course. The android knew he spoke the truth because she had been hooked into the planets defense systems when the initial ship had been blasted from the sky. The fool had entered the airspace above the city itself, and when directed to identify themselves there had been no response. Not a group to take risks, the Cardinals had blasted it from the sky. In similar fashion to Ninjin Hattori’s ship the trespassing vessel had been ripped to pieces by a hail of canon fire.
With no report from Sebastian yet she had to take his word for the rest of the tale. Considering the part about searching for the missing ship was true, there was a high chance it was all true. Also, if his mission was complete and fighting was not in his orders, there was no reason for him to lie. With no interest in killing members of the Church and seeming to have no real ties to his comrades beyond working for Prometheus Zex, Ona calculated her chances of recruiting him had just increased. As for his question, she answers it in full.
“Aon is the one true god, he who watches over us and ensures that the Universe remains in its natural state. That is what Warlock told me when she recruited me. I have never spoken too or seen Aon myself, but I have witnessed the power the other Cardinals wield in his name. Admittedly there are many ways to gain strength in this world, faith in Aon seeming to be as legitimate as the rest. As for why I follow him, that is simple. I was approached with a proposition. Assist the Universal Church of One and support their goals, and I will have access to all the funding and resources I want. Before the Church found me they had to use soldiers, just like a primitive army. Now they have countless androids to form the front lines. In exchange for my services I am given anything I ask for, no exceptions. In summation, I do not follow Aon I simply work alongside his followers.”
“You do not appear to be following any of the others you are with. Is Prometheus Zex your “master” or is there another? Another question if I may. If you would rather go back, why are you still here talking to me?” He had orders, just like she did, and seemed to be capable of acting regardless of what they were. A typical android would have seen his orders fulfilled then returned with all do haste to report. The fact he had chosen to speak with her said volumes about his programming, or perhaps the lack there of. With every passing second grew surer of her initial assessment of Zero.

Her answer, although lengthy and satisfactory, brought more questions to the android and he did not know which one to ask. It appeared that, like him, she had no ‘personal’ connection with her teammates. Given the opportunity, he hypothesized that Ona would be more than willing to abandon the Church for a deal which surpasses her current affiliation. Whether Prometheus Zex would provide such an offer –or even care enough to do so, was a mystery. The woman made a similar assessment of him as she spoke once more and questioned his loyalty to the motley crew that traversed the universe into their holy land. She was right. Model Zero had no ties with the assortment of warriors Zex had affiliated him with. In fact, Mr. Watson and he were assigned to the group for that very reason. Zex didn’t care about the intergalactic warriors, he only cared about what they have learned in their travels to Belegost and Mement Mor. Mr. Watson and Zero were assigned to travel back to Alpha Prime with or without the group. So why was he still standing here with Ona? Certainly, there was more than meets the eye.
“You are correct, Prometheus Zex is one of my masters. However, for safety reasons, I’m sure you’d understand if I refrain from revealing their identities. I only mention Lord Zex because he is relevant to our circumstances; after all, you still refuse to tell me of your creator, no?” Zero pauses, looking to either side of the rooftop. He needed to be very cautious about who overheard their conversation. The only person who could possibly trespass their sensory skills is the one wearing Sebastian’s coat, because of that, he even took the trouble glancing over his shoulder for any unwelcomed pests. Clear. He thought. The android turned to Ona once more, ready to answer her second question. She would probably find this more intriguing than she expected.
“As for your other question,” he raised his hand and point far off in the distance with his index finger. It was barely visible, but with their heightened senses they could clearly see a saiyan woman, and Naitram choking some boy. “William Watson, he was assigned to this group alongside me with the sole purpose of returning to Alpha Prime in the event that the others could not make it. If I alone were to return to Prometheus and either of them escaped this planet alive, then I may be apprehended. Now, do not misunderstand me. I do not fear of the consequences that may emerge from this predicament. However, in order to succeed, I must remain an ally in the eyes of my enemy.” His eyes narrowed. The implications of his words might have struck Ona with unprecedented quip. In the case that she had yet to understand, he would soon cease all ambiguity with his following statement.
Ever so careful, he glances at his surroundings before continuing. “I find it quite amusing that the Universal Church of One seeks to eradicate the saiyans. I was created by my master for the sole purpose of this idealization. On the other hand, as you may be aware, history, possesses insurmountable data concerning the saiyan race’s struggle. They have only vanished from this universe once before, and it was by the hands of an enemy they would have never predicted. By the time they realized it, it was already too late. –and even then, a few survived and strived. Time and time again they had been challenged and threatened, but somehow they rise above their limits and surpass their predecessors. We have witnessed this today with the dawn of two new Super Saiyans. And it is for this very reason that the Church can never succeed as long as they openly challenge the saiyan’s existence. Therefore, I cannot return to Alpha Prime without making sure that each person in this group is either dead, or on the ship with me.”
With that said, Zero had his own inkling question that urged him to ask the woman. He thought that, perhaps, he could persuade Ona to leave the Universal Church of One and join his ranks instead. But first, he needed to learn a little bit more about her intentions. “I do not follow Aon, I simply work alongside his followers,” Ona would recognize this as a direct quote from her previous statement. Zero was not ridiculing her in any sense of the word, just bringing her attention back to the idea she had expressed. “In exchange for my services, I am given anything I ask for,” another quote. His black coal eyes meet with her blue as he speaks, “what is it that you seek? Why would an android need funding and resources?” At this point, Ona sounded like a mercenary. However, he doubted that she did it for the purpose of having an illustrious life. Her outfit was of a warrior, not of a city girl with pink bows. The reason a machine like her would require funding is to perform experiments and research, Zero learned to identify these habits after being too closely involved with his master. Ivan was always looking for ways to generate funds so he may further his own goals.

Immobile and focused she listens, eyes shifting a little as the android checks his surroundings. Was he expecting some sort of ambush or checking for any eavesdroppers? It was the later, his dark eyes them coming back to meet hers. As he began to speak she understood why he was so cautious before answering her question. Similarly to her, the android had no real ties to his comrades beyond the fact they had all been assigned to one unit. Prometheus Zex had sent them all, save maybe the late arrivals with the objective of gathering information. What was that brazen alien Lord up to? Did he think to open negotiations with the Universal Church of One, or did he anticipate this is what would happen? If the second scenario was the truth Ona had vastly underestimated the creature. Sending such a motley crew with the hopes of violence was brilliant. There was a very real possibility he saw the assembled fighters as a threat to future plans.
As for the “other” masters, they must be the ones beyond his directive to eradicate the Saiyan race. Her records held no indication that the Lord of Alpha Prime had any such desires. It was logical to think he might benefit from the elimination of at least the royal family, but beyond that the race did not seem to be a problem for the alien. To Ona the Saiyans were as inferior as any other biological race. Like with the Church she had no objections to their extinction.
Regardless, her interest was not with Prometheus Zex or these other masters, but the android that stood before her. It had been proven multiple times now that he was above the norm for their race, his mind sharper and having a greater degree of free will. Yet he still called Prometheus Zex his master. Even more interesting Zero claimed there were only two ways for him to return, with all of his comrades in tow…or none. Judging by the assembly of Cardinals they now faced it was going to be none. Ona had to wonder, when Invictus was done with them all and the android was the sole survivor, would he still feel this inclination to return to his master or might he see the opportunity before him? That question would have to be answered in the future as he began to mime previous statements back to her.
“That is a simple question. I seek to create another like myself, like you. My own existence is something science has yet to explain to me so I believe the best way to discover the answer is to create another. Several times now you have asked me about my creator and I have ignored it. That is because I have no data on whom or what created me. With no answer on the horizon I intend to at least find out how I was created. Is that not a question that you have proposed to yourself from time to time? For this reason I require funding and supplies. All of this could be achieved on my own, that is true, but the subjects I require would draw attention in the wrong environment. Here I am not questioned.”
Actually pausing for a moment, contemplating all he had revealed about his relationship with the other members of his part and Prometheus Zex, Ona found herself looking down two separate paths in terms of questions. The first was more towards her own work on Mement Mor, but an area she assumed his knowledge to be lacking. The second directly concerned Zero’s “allies.” Only pausing for a second or so the silent moment of contemplation was unprecedented up to this point. For beings such as they, reaction time was measured in milliseconds, even the slightest hesitation noticeable compared to her normally fluid thought process.
“You stated that you must leave with all of them, or none of them. What do you plan to do then? I am well aware you do not possess the power to assist them all in defeating their opponents yet sitting and waiting to see if they fail or succeed is illogical. Should the two Saiyans fail, the rest are doomed. Do you plan to observe until an outcome has been determined, then flee or linger accordingly?” Ona cared not if any of his allies survived; all she wished to know was what Zero’s plans were. So far he had not made a move against her and did not seem as opposed to the Church as originally thought. If both of those remained true there was a very real possibility that she could convince Invictus to allow the android to stay on. Then again…if the Cardinals were to somehow fail it seemed Ona herself might have a second option. After all, she had done nothing to any member of the party and if Zero vouched for her…

Zero’s mind drifted just as Ona became lost in thought. Her answer was as he anticipated. Although he did not explicitly predict that she is attempting to create an android like themselves, he was sure that –whatever it is she was trying to do- it could be used to persuade her to join them. Whether that would become a reality was yet to be seen, however he was now fairly certain it was a possibility. Prometheus Zex might not provide her with unconditional funds and resources, but Ivan could provide her with invaluable information and perhaps more than she could ever wish for. She had no record of her creator, but Zero’s was still alive. If her only reason for tangling with the Church was to find out about her creation, Ivan would be able to answer them. Furthermore…
“What are you observing?” The reptilian man asked as he entered the dark glass dome. Ivan was staring into a large telescope while Model Zero stood beside him, gazing blankly at Alpha Prime’s skyline through the clear glass.
“At our future,” the scientist proclaimed, his eyes only leaving the lens of the telescope to write down notes. The table in which he wrote on was engineered with an internal lamp that illuminates the surface so he may inscribe his data without conflicting with his vision. “I’m gathering important information for our next big step,” he continued. “Zero’s growing stronger, but he’s not yet strong enough. We must prepare for the event that our secrets leak through the walls. If we were to become intergalactic targets, then we must have a place we can escape; a place far off in the deepest corner of the galaxy where nobody would think to look. Frankly, Zex appears to support Zero’s growth, but it’s only a matter of time before he sees him as a threat. Wrath is his only insurance, if there were a being who surpassed him, well… we can’t risk that…”
“I see, so we’re going to make a base in this new planet, a hide out?” the doctor asks. Zero turns from the window to observe in silence as Ivan continues.
“No, as much as Zex and Arctic provide, it just isn’t enough for our purposes. We cannot afford to solely rely on their resources.” –“Do you mean?” –“Yes, we will become rulers of our own. We will infiltrate this planet and take it as our own. We will have all of the resources we could possibly need.”
The Doctor gasps. “But, Ivan, can we really pull it off?”
“Yes, Zero is all we need to conquer an entire planet.” Ivan pulls away from the telescope and turns. The light of the stars gleam a streak across his eyes in contrast with the darkened features of his sleep deprived visage. “He will become my Wrath as I rule with an iron fist!” The scientist smirks widely. He was an ambitious man, always thinking of the thing to keep themselves a step ahead of opposition. Zero was informed of his purpose and their goals from the moment of his awakening, but it was nothing but an event in the far off future he could not yet visualize. On the other hand, Ivan continued to move forward towards that goal without faltering.
Brought back to the present, he finds himself standing in front of Ona just before she began to speak again. Her comments were blaringly on point. It would not make sense for the android to stand around mingling with the enemy while his teammates fought to their deaths. In the event that they lost and he was sole the survivor, then he had nothing to worry about. But if they survived and Zero had not been fighting, his alignment would be questioned. On the other hand, Ona was in a similar situation. Although he did not know what her orders from Invictus were –or whether or not she was under any orders at all, if she agreed to join him, she couldn’t simply wait and see what the outcome turned out to be. If the Church of One wins and she is labeled as a traitor, then they would both perish in the blink of an eye.
“You are correct. Because I must protect my master’s intentions, I must remain allied to the group Zex has assigned to me. Therefore, a fight between you and I is inevitable. However, the nature of that fight and its outcome depends on you,” he pauses. His body does not move in the slightest, demonstrating that he was not yet intending to attack. His eyes harden, showing that what he was about to say was meant in all seriousness. “Leave the Universal Church of One and join me,” a sudden gust of wind rushes past them to fill in the silence. “Unlike you, I know who my creator is. I can take you to him and he will answer any questions you have about our creation. Join us and you’ll possess more than whatever resources the Universal Church of One has offered you.” This was no bluff. Ona could connect the dots herself. Zero’s creator, no doubt, possessed a laboratory full of scientists that could help her in her endeavors. And even if she did not care for the contribution of biological beings, she would have all the funding and resources the Church provided her without worrying about having to fight intruders as they were not targeted all around the universe.

Wind whistled past them as Zero pauses for a moment, the gust blowing Ona’s uniquely colored hair from her delicate looking face. From that delicate face two soft blue, slightly glowing eyes, looked back to the other android, her appearance looking anything but warlike. Part of her design, or what her hypothesis was, had been her appear less threatening. With a female body and fair features it might aid in her interaction with others whether it be negotiations or before combat discussions. The fact of the matter was the female gender was often looked upon as inferior to the male, less capable in the field of combat and thus less intimidating. With such fair features and a slender frame she had often been misjudged to be a weak creature, those simply enough not to be able to sense power signatures making the fatal mistake of accessing the book by its cover. Of course over time she had begun to care less and less about this, her current attire and equipment more a reflection of her battle driven lifestyle.
Allowing him to finish his proposal there was undeniable potential in such a path, but such an outcome currently unachievable. All around them the two sides of their conflict fought against each other, all of them guaranteed to end only with death. Like him she was stuck in the middle of two outcomes and choosing the wrong one meant certain annihilation. With another gust passing between them she lets a smile form on her blue lips to show she appreciated and understood his proposal.
“A generous offer and one that has its appeal, however, you already know I cannot agree to it. No matter the outcome of the fighting today only one side will prevail. Like you I cannot shift my allegiance for the more than likely outcome is the Universal Church of One rising as the victor.” Ona pauses herself as yet another gust of wind whistles by them on the rooftop, their sheer altitude of the skyscraper promoting such powerful bursts of air. Neither of them could switch, but there was a solution.
“I have a counter offer Zero. Let us fight without lethal intent. I am sure the both of us can control our strikes with equal precision so that neither seriously damages the other. Such a skirmish will allow us to further assess one another and also give the illusion that we are truly for our respective causes. We can let all of this play out then simply side with the winner. Is this agreeable?” With her sensors active she knew no one was close enough to hear them, her proposal as serious as his had been. If they were in agreement the two of them could play this out and both continue on existing when it was done.
In the same stance she had been since shortly after the beginning of their conversation Ona was ready to proceed if her were to agree. Testing his combat abilities would further aide her assessment of him as a whole, something she was still very interested in.

The offer was a risky one, but it was one the android was about to propose himself. He had anticipated her answer and had already prepared a follow-up in such a case; however, it seemed Ona beat him to the chase. "I concur," the android proclaimed as he steadied his blade beside him. The saber seemed to spur with new found life as they prepared to engage each other in battle. "We shall see how the falling action of this war pans out, the losing party shall join the victor." Zero gazed back at her blue pearls quite earnestly. They were in fact betting on their future. The thought of leaving Alpha Prime to join some church was a precarious proposition. No one in their right mind would make such a proposal, much less accept its terms. Regardless, for some odd reason, the android felt as though his teammates would win despite the ostensibly intangible Invictus; so much so, that he was willing to bet it all on them. Perhaps it was the awakening of these super saiyans which gave him such a bizarre inclination towards the unreasonably irrational.
No doubt, joining the Universal Church of One would open many doors for the android. Surrounding himself with them would surely reveal to him valuable secrets and perhaps even bestow upon him this great power they spoke so much about. The power that would enable him to fulfill the meaning of his birth and realize Ivan's wish. They were ideal allies, however it was also dangerous. His master had expressed time and time again how he should keep their intentions hidden until he was ready. That is why those who passed down through history as failures failed, because they exhibited themselves too early, they made themselves open to the public while still unripened. Joining the Universal Church of One would create a chain of pursuers seeking to end the android's existence before he has a chance to perform his greatest mission.
The two androids stared at each other from a distance before their battle suddenly commenced by the spring of his legs. It's initiation was marked by Zero's powerful leap as the dominant leg burrowed into the ceiling, propelling his slim body forward. The material cracked and shifted under his initial step, the wind rippled and shattered upon his instant acceleration and within seconds Model Zero approached the woman with saber in hand and ready to make that first strike. Of course, they would abide by the conditions of their match. The woman was in no real danger as long as she did her part. They needed to keep their performance as realistic as possible and so his strikes would be quite dire if she did not make the effort to avoid, although, if he had assessed her correctly, Ona would have no trouble countering the initial attack. Head first under her, the android's saber whipped just as his face rose to hers. In an actual fight, that tactic was used to obscure the opponent's vision by blocking out their line of view with their own eyes as one attacks. If she remained as she were, Ona would see nothing but the black swirls in Zero's eyes before the android thrust his sword across her chest expecting to have it intercepted by her own weapon.
As he assaulted her, he began to ask her questions regarding something he heard earlier, but chose to momentarily ignore for the time being. He didn't see why they couldn't have a conversation between strokes; especially since they were not really after one another's throats. "Not too long ago you mentioned someone named Warlock. Despite the outcome of this fight, one of us will work alongside the other, so there's no reason for deception. May I ask who this person is? I recall you mentioned her previously. I have not yet learned of such character and I'd assume it's not beyond my bounds to ask about this person's identity." Certainly, Zero didn't simply stop and ask her outright. His words were sprinkled between attacks as he finished the stroke of his initial thrust and prepared to counter whatever the woman would toss at him before lunging for another strike.
