Sebastian was completely unaware of what the android was plotting behind him. With his eyes on Invictus he was focused on the more powerful warrior and the two Super Saiyans that now stood around him. First they had come to the Churches home and now they dared to boast such power on the doorstep of Aon’s people? The blonde was sure the powerful armored warrior would put them in their place and then what the Saiyan race do? Two of the most powerful warriors since the unnatural resurgence of the race were about to be eliminated. Sebastian had failed against Conri Lane, but at least he was going to get to see him erased from this Universe. Then he was going to have to explain to Invictus what had happened, how he had lost to the group and what had happened to Arpatiko. First he needed his coat back.
About to turn and try speaking to the dark haired boy that had taken his prized possession a booming voice enters his skull. Knowing the voice and knowing not to question it the Cardinal dives to the side as he is told, the hairs on his head singed as the blast from the androids gun grazes him. Tucking and rolling the human powers up to his full power, the fact he was no longer injured known to all as he does. Hopping back to his feet, his ankle no longer busted, he whirls and leaps for the boy who had stolen his coat as Invictus’ next command is given. Gladly he thought. Now that he was capable of reaching his full power he was going to teach that brash human why he was wrong to side with the half-saiyan Conri Lane and experience the full power of the Universal Church of One.
Bursting forward from his crouched position he dives at the boy. Tackling him right around the waist the pair go tumbling off the roof of the skyscraper and start to drop. At his full power now as they fall he releases him, rotating in the air so that he can snap both his feet out into his torso. The power of the double kick was more than enough to propel the man down into the street far below. During their first “fight” Kurosanai had taken advantage of how weak he had been after the fight with Conri Lane. He would not follow up with the attack though, letting it carry it out how it may to show that he was prepared to fight for real this time, dark blue aura rippling around him.

With everything hitting the fan faster than Kurosanai could process it was not surprising that he did not feel the presence of the android that had saved the Cardinal just a day ago. While it was true he was not going to feel his energy, a warrior could train themselves to sense the simple presence of another being. It was more along the lines of sensing the shift in the air around a new object. His eyes were focused on what was happening off in the distance that he only turned when he heard a bang. As he turned he could see the android standing with his gun pointed in his general direction. A moment of panic rocketed through his mind as he thought he had been betrayed. However the pain from the shot never came instead he felt a shoulder slam into his chest as he was picked up and carried off of the roof. The next thing he felt was the weightlessness that came with falling. It was quite blissful except for the fact that he was sure this was going to hurt. Suddenly the figure that had slammed into him appeared above him separating for a brief moment before he felt two feet slam hard into his chest. This shot his body down through the air like a rocket.
The wind whipped past his ears before the cement below him stopped his fall with a harsh impact. Pain rippled through his entire being as chunks of rocks lifted into the air as the air escaped from his lungs. His eyes opened wide as his vision slowly began to clear he was able to see his attacker. Floating half way up the skyscraper that he had been kicked off of was the Cardinal Sebastian De’Vont. The man that he had come so close to killing, with the aid of Fujin Muzai, on the mining planet Belegost. Compared to what he had faced before Sebastian was now appeared fully recovered and ready to fight. Kurosnai was not sure if he would be able to face him one on one as he was able to beat Conri in his last engagement.
“It doesn’t matter…” Kurosanai sighed as he slowly brought himself back to his feet. This was not a situation that he ever wanted to be in. He was in the middle of a war zone and would have to fight in this war but it was only reluctantly. His hands slipped into small pockets located on the sides of his pants underneath the coat that he had confiscated from the Cardinal not but twenty four hours earlier. The weights that he was removing quietly thudded to the ground around the prodigy of the Muzai’s feet.
“Sebastian we don’t have to do this!” Kurosanai called out to the Cardinal as he stared up at him. “I don’t want to do this!” Kurosanai’s drifted from side to side as he saw terrified civilians scurrying away from the prodigy of the Muzai. Never had he thought that this would be the reaction to his presence. “I am not here to harm these people!” He knew that Sebastian would not accept the olive branch, the wheels had already been set in motion, but he had to try at least. However he would not be caught off guard again as he powered up quietly underneath the coat which concealed all traces of his energy at the same time he ignited his Aoiro no Tsuisata. He did not want war but he was going to be prepared to wage it if need be.

The soles of his boots connected solidly with the boys chest, the force behind his kick sending his foe into the street far below. Those left, stragglers considering the city had been already mostly evacuated, scatter as he slams into the ground. The order to the citizens had been to leave the confines of the city and move as far away as possible from the current skyscraper they all surrounded. Thankfully none had been directly under the boy when he had hit or their death would have weighed heavily on the blondes conscience. His main goal now was to protect the populace, Invictus would handle the pair of Saiyans...both of which were far beyond the Cardinals range of power. Their ally that stood before him was not.
The fact his stolen coat shielded an exact reading he had read the boys power before he had dawned the garment. As he rose to his feet and spoke Sebastian's eyes narrowed slightly. He did not wish to fight yet he was powering up? How foolish did the boy think Sebastian was, his aura still revealed his heightened state. Barely a day ago this brat had been hell bent on taking his life, almost coming to.blows with his companions his desire for blood was so great. There was little chance for peace between them now. Even if Sebastian agreed Invictus would have none of it when he was done with the rest. The boys best fate would be him handed over to Ona so she might try another one of her experiments. How many times had she attempted to convert a living creature to an android now? Sebastian felt for those that fell into her hands, that was a gruesome fate. Eyes still narrowed the human drops to the ground a few yards from him.
Landing in a crouch he rises back to his feet before speaking.
"We don't? Just yesterday you took one life and hungered for another one. Why not toss what back what belongs to me and then we can talk." The offer and honest one, aimed to feel out how serious the boy was. That coat was an item blessed by Aon himself and Sebastian would have it back one way or another. Not normally a violent man the Cardinal was prepared to do what was expected of him. However, if there was a peaceful solution he would take it. Back on Belegost he wouldn't wouldn't touched any of them or ordered Arpatiko to attack if they had just stood aside. Their allegiance with a creature such as Conri Lane was their own decision.
Above them the others fought, minus Ona and Zero who stood atop the building still, locked in conversation instead of combat. Ready to talk Sebastian kept his guard up mainly because any stray blast from Invictus and company would spell his doom. Hopefully they would soon move away from the city to fight or there would likely be nothing left.

Kurosanai was in an awkward spot for sure. He wanted to talk Sebastian out of engaging in a fight as that was not what the prodigy wanted at all but the problem was that because of his actions in the last twenty four hours it was going to be near impossible. Taking a deep breath Kurosanai suppressed the aura that had burst around him. The aura was not intentional as he just wanted to make sure that he was ready for any actions against him that Sebastian may have made a move for. The problem being that by jumping to his full power he gave off the impression that he wanted to fight as opposed to just wanting to defend himself. As the aura dissipated Kurosanai remembered something that he noticed about the jacket when Sebastian had worn it. Ki could not be sensed directly through it meaning that he could, and would, remain at his full power and Sebastian would never know the difference. The situation though got more uneasy and uncomfortable as Sebastian’s word rang out into the city.
"We don't? Just yesterday you took one life and hungered for another one. Why not toss what back what belongs to me and then we can talk." The man spat in disgust and it only made Kurosanai’s stomach turn. He had never intended to be a villain in the way that they so callously take lives without as much as a simple second thought. He had acted that way due to a variety of external factors that weighed upon him ranging from being cooped up in the ship for far too long, wanting nothing but to protect his friends at all costs, and then Fujin’s influential domination. The last twenty four hours could have gone much better though as the Cardinal pointed out in a manner that was very matter of fact. There was no denying that Kurosanai had taken the life of the ruler of Belegost, Arpatiko, in one of the most gruesome ways possible. The prodigy of the Muzai could still smell the smell of burning flesh, and searing metal as his pained and agonizing screams filled his head. Arpatiko was going to haunt the young man for the foreseeable future and there was not a single thing he was going to be able to do about it.
As for when Fujin took over there was little that Kuro could actually remember. He only knew that the ancestral founder of the modern Muzai had taken over in order to end the fight quickly with Sebastian to spare Conri’s life. Everything else was pretty much a pained blur which only made his inner body ache in pain. He had pieced together the events that had unfolded but nothing was exact making this situation even harder on the young man.
“I…I never meant to take the life of Arpatiko. I carelessly used power that I did not have control or understanding of in order to try and protect my friend’s life.” Kurosanai started. Sebastian appeared to be a smart man and at least from the brief interactions with him he seemed like a decent person, misguided beliefs but still a decent person. “With that said, I am not returning this jacket to you. I refuse to allow you to use it in order to harm my friends. We don’t have to fight but I am not going to let my friends die here on this planet. They have far too many bright futures for them all to be snuffed out,” Kurosanai said in an effort to try and sound heroic. “…though I wouldn’t mind if you beat up the douche William Watson a little.” He mumbled under his breath. Kurosanai was ready for combat and would be waiting for the Cardinal’s reaction. It was a shame that this war had occurred because who knew what the possibilities could have been.

What a foolish boy this Kurosanai was. He spoke of peace yet when given a direct path towards it would not take the first step. All around them the Cardinals of the Universal Church of One were in the process of eliminating his allies. He spoke of helping them, but by holding onto the jacket he would be further delayed by Sebastian. For a much power as this young man sported he was ill prepared to use it. That bravado and bloodlust he had shown before must have been a fleeting thing. Now he was going to die. A shame really for he was young, probably around the age of Sebastian himself. "You give me no choice then. I cannot sit idly and watch one not faithful to Aon wear his vestments. If you will not hand it over I will remove it for you or at the very least incinerate it along with the rest of your body. The line had been drawn. Sebastian had given him an out and he had chosen to pass it up. For whatever reason the boy speaking of peace seemed unable to act when the olive branch was extended towards him. Such decisions were going to cost the human his life. As he finished his statement the Cardinal's hands shoot forward, blue flame erupting from them. The pillars of raging blue fire reach out towards his foe, the heat promising to disintegrate him where he stood. Aon was giving Sebastian a second chance and the blonde was not going to fail again. The coat would be an unfortunate loss, but he knew his god would understand. Any material possession, blessed by Aon or not, were worth little compared to ones faith. You cannot take anything with you when you pass on. With the flames released from his hands the blonde drops out of the sky, landing a short distance away from where is foe had been. Standing on the paved street he drops into a crouch, preparing his next move should he avoid a fiery death. Magic arcs out from the Cardinal, blur laylines cutting into the ground to quickly trace a circle, its center filled with intricate runes. Chanting the few words of power that he knew the lines blaze with energy before fading. His defense prepped he remains crouched, eyes watching to see if the boy survived and if he was coming at him. This time Kurosanai would be fighting the Cardinal at his fullest.

"You give me no choice then. I cannot sit idly and watch one not faithful to Aon wear his vestments. If you will not hand it over I will remove it for you or at the very least incinerate it along with the rest of your body.” Sebastian said in a tone that Kurosanai knew was going to be one of the few peaceful words the two were going to speak to one another. This battle was now underway and this Cardinal was going to make Kuro pay for his actions both here and on Belegost. It appeared that he would not stop until he was no more. Though as he listened to Sebastian finish his reply he could not help but feel like he was acting like nothing more than a hypocrite. He spoke of peace but when it actually came time to trying to actually forge the agreement the prodigy of Muzai was unwilling to budge. How could he expect someone to make peace with him when he was not ready to lay down the sword yet?
Kuro had been lost in his own thought process for so long that he nearly missed the movement of Sebastian’s hands darting forward. Immediately blue raging holy fire sprang forth and brought the moisture level in the air down significantly. Without a second thought Kuro’s own hands leapt forward and launched his own fire, reddish fire, right back into the fiery burst. The two sets of flames collided midair causing a small ball to form before bursting outwards. Due to being lost in his own thoughts the prodigy was not able to intercept the attack with his own until it was only a few feet in front of him. Because of that the resulting explosion shot out around him with flames licking at his teeth and hands. Each one sent a ripple of slight pain through the touched spots as his eyes were forced into a squint. Eventually the heat became too much for him and he shot upwards with fire dancing around him.
As the fresh air filled his lungs Kurosanai’s mind flashed back to events only twenty four hours earlier. He had made a promise to himself that he would never use that infernal fire power that he had somehow obtained. He never wanted to hear the screams of horror and pain of someone burning alive again from a power that he emitted from his own hands. Unfortunately because of his day dreaming he had acted instinctively and the fire just naturally came out of his hands. He needed to think more on the fight and less on the miscellaneous thoughts that were floating through his head. If he had continued that trend he was going to get himself seriously hurt or even killed. Kurosanai needed to focus.
With that thought process established he turned midair to find that Sebastian De’Vont crouching on the ground nearby. Kurosanai had completely missed the fact that he had laid some kind of magical seal on the ground surrounding him and immediately charged forward. Wind whipped past his ears as the prodigy charged headlong at Sebastian. He would come in low and then right before hand plant his hands on the ground and flip forward dropping a hard kick down at the head of the Cardinal. If he connected with the kick he would push backwards landing on his feet before darting in again throwing a hard left elbow. If the kick however missed or was blocked Kurosanai would leap into the air above his opponent and then descend down like a missile driving both feet into him.

Sebastian had not seen the way in which Kurosanai had disposed of Arpatiko. Had he known the boy was capable of a technique similar to his, he would not have attempted to incinerate him so early in their fight. Watching as his own holy flames leapt forward to mix with those of the trespasser a small smirk began to form on his face. This fickle boy had been distracted it seemed, his own flames barely leaving his hands before the two streams of fire collide. Like flowing water the two different blast of intense heat twist and combine, their separate colors swirling about as they erupt into a small explosion. Such a collision was not as dangerous as must, the fire fueled from the oxygen in the air and not detonating like a Ki blast might. While he was glad to see his opponent overtaken by it he had no high hopes of that being the end of him.
In similar appearance to a phoenix the black haired fighter bursts free of the dissipating flames. Fire licked at his stolen garments as he rose, trailing a thin line of smoke and flame for a few yards before it too burned itself out. Already at work on the ground Sebastian could not sense exactly where his foe had gone to, but he his own battle intuition lead him to know the boy was above him. After all, he himself was standing on the ground; the boy couldn’t have fled into the earth, not without noise at least. Finishing his rune on the street he whirls around just as Kurosanai rushes in.
His hands pressing to the ground as his foot swung down for Sebastian’s had the Cardinal had to lift both forearms to block the attack. Even as it slammed into them the force behind it was enough to shove him backwards, feet sliding across the asphalt. Gritting his teeth he shoves with both arms as the boy retreats, aiding him in his quick withdrawal. A veteran fighter despite his young age, Sebastian was not completely unprepared when he leaps into the air. Perfect, thought the Cardinal.
Doing his best to make it look like he might try and block Sebastian waits to the last moment before stepping just to the side, his own feet lifting into the air slightly. As the boy drove downward with his feet leading the way they would inevitably touch the street below. When they did he activates his seal, the blue lines he had traced moments ago glowing intensely. As they do, a paralyzing burst of energy shoots through it, paralyzing anyone in contact with the area. Timed perfectly the energy would release just as Kurosanai’s feet touch down. The resulting effect would be the boy’s body unable to react to any command from his mind, if only for a short while. It was all the time Sebastian would need.
Floating slightly higher into the air the Cardinal couldn’t help but grin. Hands tucking to his right side he cups them as blue energy begins to swirl, preparing an energy wave for the momentarily helpless human below him. ”I gave you the option to surrender and you chose to fight. Perhaps this will serve as justice to Arpatiko and his people.”

The prodigy of the Muzai’s foot fell hard crashing into Sebastian’s arms causing him to sink slightly into the ground. It was amazing to him the amount of power that he had been able to bring about in such a short time since the Galactic Tournament. Never had he assumed that he would ever be close to the level that he was fighting at right now. Even on Belegost watching Conri fight on par with Sebastian was something that frightened the prodigy of the Muzai. Not because Conri was so powerful but because there were enemies that gave the winner of the Galactic Tournament pause. This only made him give even more pause since he was not really able to stand with Conri when he had his sparring match with him in the Gamma Slums back on the Omega Collective. If he could barely match Conri how was he going to match Sebastian De’Vont who for all intents and purposes beat Conri in their fight? This was the problem that was facing Kurosanai and it continued to linger in his thoughts.
As Kuro’s feet made contact with the ground to push forward he found himself stuck. His legs refused to respond to his commands. In a frantic flurry of thoughts his brain continued to fire off command after command but nothing seemed to respond. Finally his eyes caught what looked like blue veins of energy slowly crawling up his legs and chest. Whatever this energy was it was binding his muscles to a statuesque position and his tongue in place. Panic began to set in as he watched his opponent lift off the ground and into the air.
”I gave you the option to surrender and you chose to fight. Perhaps this will serve as justice to Arpatiko and his people.” The Cardinal said with a sense of victory in his voice. It was true that he had given him the chance to surrender but he was not going to give in a single inch. He had to make sure that Sebastian did not try to harm any of his friends. This meant potentially giving his life if that was what it took. As his hands were brought back to his side blue energy began to swirl and gather. The Cardinal was not going to spare his life, just as Kurosanai had not been willing to spare his only a day before hand.
‘Breathe…breathe in…’ A voice echoed throughout Kurosanai’s head. It sounded like Fujin Muzai but it was just barely a whisper. It was probably because of having to take control of Kuro’s body and being exhausted. The prodigy of the Muzai was not sure what he was even talking about until he thought more on his words themselves. Breathe? Fujin had spoken briefly of an ability that Kuro had an ability that he did not really no how to use. He called it Jotun’s Breath, what that was beyond him. But that was his best bet in a situation like this. He had no idea on how to use it but taking a deep breath in he forced his energy down into his chest and began to let it grow. This was going to be a hail mary as to if he could actually use this technique in combat.

Blue energy crackling in his hands Sebastian was already planning out his next move for when he was finished with the boy. First, if it survived, he would retrieve his coat. The artifact held value beyond that of its material worth to any member of the Universal Church of One, especially Sebastian. If it did not survive he would feel the loss, but disintegrating it was better than letting a non believer parade around in it...especially one so foolish as this boy. Aon was surely displeased with him for letting it fall into his foes hands in the first place. The cardinal had only handed it over so that he might live and further aid those he had a sworn duty too. Aon would surely understand.
Second, Sebastian would rush to the aid of either Ona or Iun, unsure of how the two were faring at the moment. Ona he was not able to sense for obvious reasons and Iun who he could sense, but was unsure how she was holding up against the powerful Icejin. Whichever of them needed his assistance, or even both, the blonde would be at their side in moments. Then when their respective foes had been taken care of the three could watch and wait as Invictus did the rest, the Cardinals having no real desire to help Naitram, his fight should have been easy enough.
So distracted by his plans for the future he does not notice Kurosanai inhaling, something he probably wouldn't have even cared about if he had. With his paralysis rune having been activated he was confident he had won. Not many creatures, especially humans had the ability to do anything with their breath. Satisfied with his charge now his hands thrust forward, blue beam of energy bursting forth. With his opponent unable to defend himself the beam was more than powerful enough to finish him, although it would leave a decent sized crater in the lovely city. No bother, such things could be fixed.
Arms extended forward he pours more energy into the blast, ready to be rid of the dangerously fickle boy. At least his death would be quicker than the one Arpatiko had suffered. Sebastian was not one to make others suffer.

Energy gathered in both fighters presences. For Sebastian De’Vont energy spun nearby in his hands that hung near his side. His eyes were full of hate and resolve to destroy Kurosanai’s existence from the universe. For the prodigy of the Muzai energy grew within his chest. The difference between the two attacks were quite simple. For the Cardinal his power spun from ki generated from his faith in Aon while Kurosanai had, what was called by Fujin, magical energy brewing deep within the boy. As the energy grew he felt his body grow colder and colder almost to the point of it being painful. The chill seemed to seep into his bones and the weary aching feeling began to grow. His muscles and limbs continued to refuse to answer his mental commands. In that moment his eyes fell shut as part of him accepted his fate.
Next came the sound of the ki attack leaping from the hands of the Cardinal’s hand. Kurosanai was not sure what was going to happen next as he was not even sure if he could perform the technique that Fujin had spoken of. It was then that he felt his muscles release and his eyes snapped back open with a new fire burning within him. His Aoiro blazoned eyes stared down the Cardinal as the energy shot forward. Taking one final deep breath in Kuro exhaled some of the coldest air that he had ever felt. Little did he know but as the air traveled away from his body it continued to drop in temperature until it reached absolute zero. The effect of this was a faint crystalized cloud extending out in front of him. The ground just in front of him began to be coated in a light frost. But the main interaction was not until the cloud of cold air collided with the energy beam. The prodigy of the Muzai was conflicted as to what was going to happen as he didn’t think energy could be frozen while on another level he was able to match the Cardinal pretty well thus far.
The answer would come instantly the two attacks made contact. The energy swirled for a moment as the cold air wrapped around it before an explosion erupted from the epicenter of the collision. The difference between this and a normal explosion was that as the two attacks warped new massive shards of ice were shot outwards from all directions. At first Kurosanai thought them harmless beyond the initial impact except that when several made impact with the ground or surrounding buildings the icicles erupted into a more traditional explosion. Leaping forward into the ice storm Kuro’s body just seemed to move. The cloud provided a cover for him to disappear into for a brief moment. When he reemerged he would strike several of the icicles sending them in the direction of the Cardinal. Once the Cardinal had dealt with those in whatever manner he chose Kurosanai would be on top of him if his plan was successful. He would bring the battle to the Cardinal and bring this battle back down to a level he was much more comfortable with. Hand to hand combat.

In moments this was going to be over, the boy burned up in similar fashion to the death of Arpatiko albeit less painful. There was nothing his opponent could do with his body paralyzed by the seal under his feet. So inexperienced and young he had walked right into the trap and it was now going to cost him his life. Releasing the energy from his hands he fires the beam, a grim smirk on his face as the energy raced towards its target, ready to erase him from the universe. Unbeknownst to the Cardinal though, the boy had been gathering energy within his chest. His own coat blocking him from sensing the gathering Ki within his foe. The way he released it was far from conventional as well.
Normally when someone was to exhale in cold conditions the moister in their breath was visible. This was different though; the air that came from him was thick, almost closer to a vapor than what it should be. Figuring it strange he does not relent with his own attack, figuring the air could be blasted through with pure power. To his dismay the energy seems to slow as it hits the air, treating it more like something more substance behind it. The two different attacks mingle for only a moment before the energy within the two detonates. Throwing his arm up to shield his face the Cardinal feels ice shards nicking his arm and body as the partially frozen Ki peppers his body. Curse him for having such a unique attack; he shouldn’t have been able to defend himself in that state.
Lowering his arm he saw the boy sending several more shards of ice his way, the blonde not wanting to touch them as he had seen how the others had reacted. Dipping and weaving he focuses on staying out of the way. As the large shards of ice zip past him, the Cardinal able to feel the air from a few, he loses track of Kurosanai for a moment. When he spins out of the way of the last shard though he relocates himself to try and see where the boy had gone. He was easy to find for he was right on top of him.
As the fool came in Sebastian was on his heels, but he was not unfamiliar with close combat. Blocking the first strike thrown from the boy the Cardinal spins in the air, sending the flat of his boot for the boy’s stomach. Sebastian was not going to go down easy, no matter how they engaged each other.

Nothing more than quickening pace was the cure for Kurosanai to get his mind back into the fight. It had worked thus far as his mind seemed to be lost in the near muscle memory mindlessness that the boy had become so used to. Throughout his life he had been trained over and over again in order to react and to strike when the opportunity presented itself. That was the entire premise of the Muzai fighting style. To wait for the most perfect opportunity, that one moment when the hole in the defenses appeared, and with the trained eye of the Muzai fighters events could begin to unfold. With quick handed strikes and elusive effectiveness the Muzai warrior would operate within that small opening and bring down the enemy. No matter the size of the opponent if you knew how to strike any foe could be brought down in a few strikes. This was the core idea behind the fighting style that Fujin Muzai had developed. Using the idea behind pressure point fighting he was able to take it to the next level and bring it to the level of striking at the very energy that allowed the fighter to move effectively. That was what Kurosanai was going have to do.
The shards ripped past the blonde cardinal as he dealt with each in turn just as the prodigy of the Muzai had done. The two appeared to be a perfect match for one another and that only one slip up would end up determining the fight for one of the parties. As Kurosanai’s hand came heavy in for the strike Sebastian threw a hard front kick. The way that he was falling backwards as he threw the kick it would be near impossible for him to land his punch and also Kuro was in for a bit of pain. There was no way that Kurosanai was going to be able to stop in time and that was exactly what happened. He slammed hard into the outstretched foot. The hard blunt force crushed his lungs causing that sickening suction to occur. As the air escaped from his lungs the prodigy of the Muzai’s eye began to bug and his hands wrapped around the foot of the Cardinal in an effort to not fall over.
In that brief moment Kurosanai’s muscle memory began to kick in. His hands tightened around the ankle of the Universal Church of One’s Cardinal. He brought his elbow high into the air before spiking it downward at the shin in an effort to break it. If the attack was successful Kurosanai would slam his shoulder into the Cardinal before popping up driving his fist under the chin. If Sebastian managed to pull backwards he would pull Kuro off his feet a bit causing him to plant his hands on the ground and flip driving his heel downwards into the side of the neck. If he instead chose to blast him in the face Kuro would duck low to the ground before springing upwards and striking at Sebastian’s arms using the fighting style of the Muzai. In any of the scenarios he was going to make sure that he stayed close and made sure that Sebastian was not going to be able to breathe.

Sebastian’s commitment to his cause was no less than Kurosanai’s. In combat both sides often thought themselves the virtuous and just, while the other somehow threatening their beliefs or the ones they love. Was there ever truly a right side in war? How could the beliefs and desires of all those involved truly be weighed against one another with an absolute outcome? It was impossible, the nature of war was that those on each side were committed enough to die for their cause, battles not ending until one had given up on his goals or lost his life. With all of the Cardinals fighting throughout Mori and countless citizens to protect there was nothing that was going to stop Sebastian from fighting now. He was supposed to…no he needed to protect the people of Mement Mor and Aon’s faithful.
In came the boy, as foolish and headstrong as he had proven to be so far. This time he was rewarded with a white boot to the gut. At this close of a range the Cardinal could hear the air forced from his opponent’s lungs at the force of the impact. Being so forward with your attacks was a weakness, many fighters often not taking the time to think in depth before swinging their fists. Then again…some could afford to do so.
As his foot sank into the muscles of Kurosanai’s abdomen Sebastian had already begun to twist with the blow as he had expected the boy to be pushed back. Instead the human’s hands had come down to take hold of his ankle, gripping it tightly as he held the sole of his boot to his gut. Watching his arm raise, bending at the elbow the blonde was battle hardened enough to see what he was attempting. Not wanting his shin or knee broken he spins more, the sharp downward elbow instead driving into his calf. Pain spikes across his lower leg as it bit into the muscle, but it was far better than losing complete use of the leg. Grimacing in pain he then feels a shoulder slam into his lower back, the force of the blow aided by the Cardinal’s own bukujutsu he was sent soaring forwards.
Tumbling away from his foe Sebastian saw the world whip by in a blur of tangled colors, all shades mixing together as he rotated through the air. Letting his body spin for a short while, he hoped to give the illusion that he was more disorientated than he looked. Several dozen yards away he would suddenly come to an abrupt halt, upside down as he was once again facing Kurosanai. Both hands snap out in front of him as a blue beam of energy blasts from both his palms. It was true he was disorientated, but not enough to prevent him from attacking. This fight had just begun.

The Cardinal was quicker than Kurosanai gave him credit for. That was meant for both his mind and body. Sebastian twisted in just enough to avoid the prodigy of the Muzai’s attack coming straight down on top of his shin. As he twisted he had no possible way of escaping and seemed to know that, instead he sacrificed the back of his calf to avoid higher damage. Kuro’s elbow would come down like a spear piercing through the flesh and then further expanded as if smashed down upon with a hammer. It was really quite smart because while Sebastian was going to probably lose some function in his leg he was still in this fight. If the original blow had landed then the fight would have been close to being over and Kurosanai essentially the winner. But the Cardinal continued to fight on and as a result took a shoulder to the chest. As then connected once again the Cardinal went flying backwards much further than he had originally intended and it left Kurosanai staring in a bit of wonder.
‘Get your head out of the clouds boy. He is creating distance,’ Fujin hissed in distaste. Kurosanai without a word of acknowledgement darted forward like a comment. The slight hesitation had created a small gap between the two and even though the Cardinal was tumbling uncontrollably Kurosanai knew he had to stay on top of him. Suddenly Sebastian sprung upwards into a position where he was hanging upside down. His hands came together in front of his chest as energy began to bubble and gather. His opening had closed and he was not able to capitalize on it.
“Shit…” Kurosanai muttered as the energy roared from Sebastian’s hands cutting through the air with a fiery passion. At his current pace once again there was no way he was going to avoid the attack. There was almost no time to react and it caused him to take a quick breath in. It was in that moment that he remembered that he was no longer fully bound to the hand to hand combat he had come to know. With a deep breath in the prodigy of Muzai expelled more cold air from his lungs like he had done only moments before. This time instead of aiming directly at the beam of energy his intention was to form a massive wall that would separate the two for a brief moment. As the magic energy combined with the air a wall seemed to appear out of nothing. There was only one thing that Kurosanai seemed to forget about, stopping. The prodigy slammed hard into the wall and coming to an abrupt stop that nearly caused him to lose a tooth. “Ow…” Kurosanai grumbled as his eyes widened. The beam of energy that had been fired by Sebastian slammed into the ice wall and it seemed to only slow it down for a mere moment. In that moment the prodigy of the Muzai thought that perhaps this plan was going to succeed. However that moment of bliss disappeared as the energy carved through the ice and slammed into his chest.
The human was shot backwards as the energy tore away at the flesh at his arms as he rocketed backwards. He crashed through building after building sending pain spider cracking up his spine. He was only freed from this torture one his foot got caught in a piece of ruin and caused him to stop hard. His head snapped hard against the ground causing a warm wet feeling to begin to pool by his ears. Had his head been cracked open on a rock? The world spun a bit as the prodigy began to palm the ground. This entire fight had been tossed on its head.
‘Well done. Broken and beaten. That didn’t take long.’ Fujin snapped with a hiss as a burning sensation through his ears. He doubt that Fujin would manifest himself but at the same time he could probably use his help about now.
“I am not done yet…” Kurosanai groaned as he struggled to a standing position in the hollowed out building that hung over him. His eyes couldn’t pick up where Sebastian was and it was a bit disconcerting. “It is a shame that we couldn’t stand alongside each other! I mean we could have been great allies! Instead we fight and yet you don’t even know my name do you?” Kurosanai rambled loudly hoping to somehow distract Sebastian. He took a deep breath in again and once again he felt energy beginning to build in his chest.
