He knew it, those bastards were here and on another planet named Mement Mor, his anger was slowly boiling over as his aura started to expand from his body. His power was slowly rising in conjunction with his anger, the people that he had been searching for for so long and he was here right now where they came for supplies. If he could shutdown the supply line that kept them going, he could deal a huge blow to them, and it would only be the first of many that came from him. That meant that he would need to trash as much around here as possible, make sure that they couldn't get their hands on whatever it was they received from these people. The would pay for their crimes and he would make damn sure that they knew their mistake. His mind was filled with thoughts of what he wanted and would do to the Universal Church of One and his anger was getting the better of him to the point where he was ready to act.
The one thing that stopped him, however, was the mention of another ship that crashed recently and coincided with their own arrival on this planet. Damn it, that meant the others had crash and there wasn't a lot of time before things got bad for them, which meant that he would need to figure out a plan. Despite his anger, he wasn't completely lost to when and what was needed of him. As much as he wanted to start taking revenge, people he considered friends were in danger and he needed to help them now. Looking at Arpatiko, he would need a few questions answered on all sides from him so the best thing was to divide resources.
"I take it your people know the best routes to take to get to this area, yes? If that's so, would you mind having some of your people take William and Kurosanai to the others? I have more questions for you, and would rather we get those answered as soon as possible," his tone wasn't threatening, but it was a serious one. He didn't know if William or Kurosanai would argue, but he hoped that they would just go with his decision on this one because he wasn't in the mood for arguments. His eyes were locked onto to the large leader of this planet as unwavering as ever, however, the rage and hatred was visible in them now. It was impossible for him to mask the feelings now that he knew his enemies were here.
"The faster they find our friends and we have our discussion, the better all around, I believe. Is that agreeable to you?" his question directed at the warrior before him. He was doing his damnedest to not anger them, but it was hard to keep his own emotions in check right now. He knew that if he even saw someone from the Church, his control would be lost and he would be attacking them with the full force of his fury brought to bare. Looking to both of the people that were on his team, he waited for them to agree or disagree with his idea, whichever they would decide to do.

The strange people before Arpatiko seemed to be having an adverse reaction to everything it was that he was saying. It was the blue haired one that reacted worst of all however. The giant mannish creature had not made any attempt to hide just whom it was they had been supplying. Lying was not in their nature. Two of them seemed to be more concerned about the downed ship, whereas Conri of the Lane was more upset about the church.
“I will address your comments in turn.” Arpatiko said. It was unusual for him to be speaking to three people at once and actually conversing. He was more used to ordering his men around and being compelled, or being barked at by the high ranking members of the Church of One and then following those orders. Conversing was strange to him.
“William of the Watson, A team has been dispatched to go and find your friends and bring them safely inside the compound. If the other members of your party are indeed alive you will be reunited shortly.” He turned from the young boy of the group to the only slightly older boy next to him.
“Kurosani of the Muzai, the only way to travel around Belegost is by tunnel. The outside environment is too dangerous unless you are properly equipped. Do not fear though, your friends most likely survived. To bring you into our tunnels right now would be a possible mistake. I do not know you and do not trust you as of yet.”
Then he turned to the blue haired man. There was an obvious rage around the man. It was obvious as to why the man was angry as well. When Arpatiko had brought up the Universal Church of One, his slave-masters, the man’s aura and mood had changed completely. His powerlevel was rising and Arpatiko’s scanner tracked it the entire time. The man was impressively strong, but it was nothing that the hunter couldn’t deal with if the man decided to attack.
“I seem to have upset you Conri of the Lane. I take it The Universal Church of One is your enemies. Have you heard the old adage: The enemy of my enemy is my friend? We are allies in that effect. I harbor no love for my masters. The men you see here are slaves. The work we do, slave labor. I cannot allow William of the Watson and Kurosani of the Muzai into the caverns. As I said I still don’t know who you are or why you are here. From your tone perhaps it is to destroy the church. You should know that attacking my people would not help with that. They would merely send their cardinals here and kill you all or use you in our place as slaves. But yes, we shall discuss more. Ask whatever questions you wish.”

Kuro was definitely right on when he thought that Conri was going to blow at the mention of this Universal Church of One. He could hear the vitriol dripping off of the every word that came from his mouth. Whatever they had done to Conri must have been bad but yet again Kurosanai could not jump to any conclusions and instead would have to properly play the field. But the idea of what Conri no doubt had in mind was a very bad one to ponder. The only reason he would have wanted Kurosanai and the dense human William Watson to leave with some guards to go possibly find the other crew was for Conri to break out into a fight with these guys. The prodigy of the Muzai was not thrilled with the idea based on their appearance. The massive technology gap that these guys had over the three former contestants of the Galactic Tournament was massive. If any of the weapons did what he thought they could then the fight was going to be one sided. Then add to the fact that he would be fighting on a platform in the middle of a death trap made things only worse to hypothesize. These people lived here and they probably knew how to deal with the planet’s extreme environment. If they wanted to they could just trap him up on this little outpost deactivate the shield and let the half Saiyan die. Problem solved. The problem with that plan was that more than likely the rest of the group would be left in the same predicament. The prodigy of the Muzai would prefer not to die on this little piece of metal if he did not have to.
“I understand your reluctance to let us below the surface but I feel like up here we are only in the way of the loading of the freighters bound to leave the planet,” Kuro responded back. It was a lie. Even if there was a little bit of traffic going on around them they could have gotten out of the way easily. What he wanted to do was to get below the surface so that he would not be quite as exposed. Of course what lied below the surface could have been just as deadly as the predicament they were in now but he was more than willing to try his hand at whatever was beyond that elevator. Kuro would slowly shuffle over to Conri though and lean in and speak very quietly.
“I get that you are riled up right now. But I really don’t think picking a fight with these guys on this small little platform in the middle of a planet with no other signs of life and a barren wasteland like this is a good idea. I think you should just try and cool off for now and try and get through that elevator. I really would prefer not to die right here and now.” Kuro would whisper to Conri Lane in an attempt to keep the conversation between the two of them. “Fighting right now would not be prudent.”
(I have skipped Zasham using the five day saga rule. He may post after me if he chooses to do so. Order would not be changed in that circumstance.)

“So are we able to get to this Area 86 via the underground pathways then?”
Kurosanai directed at Arpatiko, while William was left confused. Underground pathways? What underground pathways? The group had seen nothing of the sort during their entry to the planet or their short walk across the small spaceport. Willie associated the nonsensical outburst to Muzai’s flamboyant nature or, giving him the benefit of the doubt, heatstroke.
Just as he was about to open his mouth in response to what he believed to be a bad joke, something he certainly believed the human fully capable of, Conri’s aura began to appear. Nearly invisible at first, it grew in transparency as the half saiyan grew in power and, if his facial expression was any indicator, anger. Did I miss something? He retraced the conversation in his mind trying to solve the puzzle he seemed to be in. The Universal Church of One… Maybe they were more troublesome than they had sounded after all.
"I take it your people know the best routes to take to get to this area, yes? If that's so, would you mind having some of your people take William and Kurosanai to the others? I have more questions for you, and would rather we get those answered as soon as possible. The faster they find our friends and we have our discussion, the better all around, I believe. Is that agreeable to you?”
Lane seemed to be trying to get some one on one time with the alien leader. William did not like the idea whatsoever; given his recent attitude change it was very likely he wanted to go Space Rambo on the squadron. Even if that was not the case, though he took Conri’s authority for most aspects of the mission, he was still a direct line to the Lord of Alpha Prime. Prometheus Zex would want to know everything the beings said. Opening his mouth once more to speak, and respectfully decline the order to separate, he was cut off by the bionic voice of Belegost’s leader.
“I will address your comments in turn. William of the Watson, A team has been dispatched to go and find your friends and bring them safely inside the compound. If the other members of your party are indeed alive you will be reunited shortly.
Kurosani of the Muzai, the only way to travel around Belegost is by tunnel. The outside environment is too dangerous unless you are properly equipped. Do not fear though, your friends most likely survived. To bring you into our tunnels right now would be a possible mistake. I do not know you and do not trust you as of yet.
I seem to have upset you Conri of the Lane.
He spoke to each person individual, turning from one to the next at each pause. William found a small victory that despite Muzai’s chiding, he appeared to be correct on the alien’s naming structure. Arpatiko seemed somewhat unnerved by having so many people talking to him at the same time, though Willie only guessed as much by the pause he had before speaking. The creature hadn’t really taken a long pause since he began, seeming to always know what to say with clarity and precision, like a true leader.
William was shocked by the admission that such tunnels, or pathways, did exist beneath Belegost’s surface. Looking to Kurosanai for a moment he was floored by his perceptiveness; or rather sheer dumb blind luck. As he finished speaking though, it seemed rather apparent why Conri was so upset; this church sounded like a universal evil. What church would send its holy men to murder and enslave? Willie was still trying to play catch up in this as a conversation that started into a question about the missing expeditionary team blew up into so much more. One question did seem to sit at the forefront of his mind so he was about to ask.
“I understand your reluctance to let us below the surface but I feel like up here we are only in the way of the loading of the freighters bound to leave the planet.”
WHAT? Willie thought to himself that the least significant thing to worry about at the moment was the freighters. Shooting a look at him he noticed ‘the prodigy’ shuffling up to Conri in what Willie guessed was supposed to be a sly move. The coupled , now apparent, deflective question and the whispering which followed, that William only caught bits and pieces of being a few feet away, certainly looked suspicious. The boy only wondered what it then looked like to Arpatiko. Stepping up and clearing his throat, the apparent human attempted to diffuse the situation a bit. However the only question he could seem to come up with was the same one that had been haunting him since the armor clad warrior finished his response.
“So… What’s all this about killing and enslaving?”
Finally getting a word out, Willie couldn’t help his curious, and nervous, nature. He wanted both to know what threat they posed, but also what exactly this evil was; it seemed Conri knew enough to wager his own opinion and William hoped for the same.

Everyone could tell he was angry, but apparently they all assumed it was directed at the people around him from the words that they were speaking. Well, all of them except for William, he had been oddly quiet on the matter so there wasn't much to direct towards him. While he was feeling incredibly wrathful right now, he was aware enough to know to not direct it at anyone other than the church, because no one else deserved it. If there was anyone from the church there, then they would see the extent of his rage come to fruition, but not before that moment. Arpatiko had a good point about it though, he couldn't trust them from anyone else given that they had just met, and he couldn't do anything to force the issue. Instead he would ask the questions in his mind here and deal with the answers as they came, there was one important thing on his mind as well given that they were still in the spaceport.
However, it seemed that before he could ask anything Kurosanai was walking up to whisper to him, although the words themselves seemed to piss him off a bit more. "Riled up? Is that what this looks like to you? Let me tell you, that is the biggest understatement of the year by far," he spoke, though it was clear he was angry, it wasn't aimed viciously at anyone. Being a wise ass about it was something that happened naturally though, so it was something that would happen regardless of whether he wanted to be that way or not. "I'm not planning to start a fight, and certainly not with these people. However, let me make one thing clear now, so that you can be warned. Don't get between me and a member of the Church. Ever." His voice was stern, and the tone was an incredibly serious one, it was meant to be a forewarning to Kurosanai if he planned on something like that. When it came to the Church, he couldn't control himself not at all, he had to destroy them and make them suffer for their crimes. Then it would be their god's turn to feel his wrath, he didn't know how he would accomplish it, but he would find a way.
That was when William did speak up and asked a question regarding the killing and enslaving, he would let Arpatiko explain all that to the other two and just wait to ask his own questions. When that was done he had his own questions poised to go, or well, there were two questions and a demand thrown in to the mix with him. "Well then, enemy of my enemy, tell me everything you can about the Church. Every single minute detail that you can think of whether you think it would be important or not, I want to know it about them, so that I can use it to take them apart. Also, two questions. First, those ships in the other docks, do they belong to the Universal Church? Second, do you have any of your people over by them?" he hoped it was obvious as to why he was asking the questions.
Though, he supposed that he should figure out a way to earn the trust of these people, his first priority was to cause as much pain as he could to his enemies. If they wanted to ask him to prove himself somehow, then he would be more than willing to listen to them, but his anger needed to be released before he really did explode on something. "By the way, does this mean you plan on fighting with me if that's what I decide to do, or will you be sitting out of the fighting?" he figured if they were talking about the church being both of their enemies, he should know their own plans so that he could make his own moves accordingly. (blarg, is crappy u.u)

Again he would address them each in turn. It was not something he was used to, talking this long. He was getting the gist of each man before him and their characters. The leader seemed to be the blue haired one, and no doubt he was the easiest to anger. However, Arpatiko could understand the hatred towards the church. He looked at the black haired man.
“We are not in the way of anything Kurosani of the Musai. If you feel you are in the way of the men carrying the cargo or the freighters simply step aside.” the alien cocked his head in confusion at the young man’s statement. Perhaps it was an attempt to get into the tunnels. It was nonetheless ineffective. The young man then went over to the blue haired man, and though perhaps he didn’t realize it, Arpatiko heard every word the man said. The suits, specifically Arpatiko’s as the leader of the planet, were designed to pick up on any dissension among the slaves. This lead to very strong hearing sensors being implanted. His motives were to get inside the world, but he didn’t lead on to why. Arpatiko’s suspicion of the group only increased.
Without a word he tapped something on his palm. A highly sutble and practiced movement that would be naked to the invisible eye. It was not an attack, but it was a signal to his men behind him to increase their alertness. They would make no move, and this would not be obvious to the three standing in front of him, as the only thing that would occur would be a symbol appearing on the viewing screens of the warriors. But they would know to be more suspicious of the newcomers.
Arpatiko turned when the young man named William of the Watsons addressed him. His words brought back painful memories for the leader.
“It may be that you can speak of the deaths of other races so casually, we however cannot. My people’s past is long and burdened with sorrow. We were born in the darkness. Molded by it. These caverns are the only home we’ve ever known. We have never known the light of freedom. The church makes sure of that. Though I am stronger in effect than the three of you, I am no match for The Warlock. Nor any of the cardinals that make Mement Mor their home. I, and the entirety of my people, would die were we to rebel. As would you all.” With that Arpatiko turned once more to the blue haired leader of the group. The one that seemed to be the most likely to pick a fight. Arpatiko was hoping it wouldn’t come to that.
“Conri of the Lane, you seem like an honorable man. My people’s culture revolves around honor. But let me say this, this is not meant as a threat, but merely fact: If a member of the church were to come here right now and declare I kill you, I would have to. Not because I dislike you, but because what they would do to my people would be far worse than what you could. The things I could tell you about the church are this; there are members here on world, there are spies here currently, whom I don’t know, I am not told. Their home world in this sector is Mement Mor, a planet you can see from here.” Arpatiko turned and pointed at what one might originally assume was a moon. It was however a not-so-distant planet.
“Those ships belong to the church yes, but they are run by my people exclusively. If you kill a member of my species, I will have to kill you. We are few in number, and cannot afford to lose any else. I do not mean to threaten you, but will not take to any threats either. You are standing here alive in front of me because I allowed it by deactivating the shields; you owe me a kindness by not destroying my things or killing my people.” None of this was said with any detectable emotion, only the muffled his and click and electronic voice of Arpatiko’s translator. Lastly he added.
“If you prove yourself trustworthy Conri of the Lane. Then perhaps yes, my people will fight with you.”

Conri had acted exactly the way that Kuro thought he was going to. His anger was getting the better of him and when he lost control of his surroundings the half Saiyan became not only a threat to who he was mad at but rather the entire environment around him. The prodigy of the Muzai had found that out in his fight with the blue haired Saiyan back on the Omega Collective. Kuro had purposely antagonized him in order to try and play at his anger. The plan worked beautifully as the young man did not have anything inhibiting him soon after the antagonizing began. The only problem was that soon Conri was consumed with this rage and would begin to throw away the safety of the other people in the nearby area. It was this that Kurosanai could not stand. He would not allow Conri or anyone no matter the power difference to hurt innocent people as long as he drew breath.
Now Conri had begun to draw a line in the sand. One that Kurosanai did not want to stand on but was honor bound to. “Riled up? Is that what this looks like to you? Let me tell you, that is the biggest understatement of the year by far. I'm not planning to start a fight, and certainly not with these people. However, let me make one thing clear now, so that you can be warned. Don't get between me and a member of the Church. Ever.” The half Saiyan growled at the prodigy of the Muzai. The only problem with this declaration was that Conri made a statement that Kuro would never be able to follow. In this state if he were to find his enemy then Conri Lane would be a threat to any living creature that happened to be in his way. Man, woman or child. This was unacceptable.
“I do not care how powerful you may be Conri Lane. If you go down a path of destruction I will stop you. I will fight against you with every fiber of my being. I will protect the innocent with my broken body and never stop until the last breath escapes my chest,” Kurosanai mumbled to himself. No one in the close proximity would be able to hear the words but the intent in his eyes would not be mistaken. They never left the center of his back as if he was staring straight through it. “I will stop you if I must.”
Second, do you have any of your people over by them?” Conri stated emphatically. It was a statement exactly like those that Kurosanai was trying to caution the half Saiyan against making. There was no telling what the inhabitants would do even if they were enemies against this Universal Church of One like Conri was. Based on the tense atmosphere that followed the questions they were not overly thrilled at the idea. The prodigy of the Muzai began to feel the air fill with the tension that is often experienced before battle ensues.
Their home world in this sector is Mement Mor, a planet you can see from here. Those ships belong to the church yes, but they are run by my people exclusively. If you kill a member of my species, I will have to kill you. We are few in number, and cannot afford to lose any else. I do not mean to threaten you, but will not take to any threats either. You are standing here alive in front of me because I allowed it by deactivating the shields; you owe me a kindness by not destroying my things or killing my people.” The leader of the planet stated in his strange speech patterns. It took a moment for Kurosanai to realize that the leader of the planet may have just created an even worse situation. Now that Conri knew where this Universal Church of One was then there was the possibility that he was going to abandon the mission that Prometheus Zex had asked for the three of them had been asked to complete. On top of that there was still the issue of reaching the other group of companions that had crashed on the other side of the planet.
“There is to be no worries Arpatiko. I know Conri here was only asked out of curiosity and out of the intention of trying to start any kind of trouble. That is not why we are here. As you know we are here to try and find a few travelers that worked for our employer and now in order to rescue our companions that are stranded on the other side of your planet. I know you don’t particularly trust us and I can’t really blame you based on the initial impression that you have been forced to experience. But I implore you that you allow us to try and get to our comrades. I do not mind being escorted. I just worry for their safety based on what I am witnessing your planet has to offer.” Kurosanai stated in a tone that was as much asking as it was trying to be convincing. “Perhaps we may even be able to discuss this over some food and drinks. It is a custom that we love to adhere to when discussing diplomatic affairs. And obviously you may bring as many guards as you deem necessary.” Kuro wanted to make it off this platform. At this rate Conri was going to start a fight on a tiny platform and end up getting them all killed. If they made it to a bigger space then he would at least feel more comfortable. Knowing Watson though he would not pick up on the intent behind the statement and Conri would be too taken on trying to figure out how to get to this new world. Kurosanai was screwed.

Damn, he was hoping that he could vent some of this anger that he'd been feeling against the Church, but it turned out the ships and workers belonged to Arpatiko's people. He didn't want to start anything with people he had no issues with, plus they were potential allies in the fight against his enemies. If he could find a way to earn their trust then maybe they would be able to help him find a way to take them apart from the ground up and make sure they never returned. Pushing his anger down once more, he let his power drop to what it was before, there was no point to it if there was no one that he could use it against. Taking several deep breaths he was able to calm himself to a more stable degree, letting his emotions drain away for the moment so that he could regain control.
Although, something that Arpatiko said had given Conri a few ideas as well and he would need to try having a private conversation with the leader to see what he thought of them. If it was possible then maybe he would have a way to earn the trust of Arpatiko and his followers at least to a degree, however he would have to see how the leader reacted to the idea.
"Yeah, I get you. Your people are your responsibility, just as my people are mine. I have no issues with you or your people, my anger is directed at the ones who enslave you and no one else. Like you they have wronged me in a way that I cannot forgive no matter what, but you have nothing to fear from me directly, I give you my word," he figured that would be a step towards getting Arpatiko to understand his own side. His anger was directed in only one direction, and it would be focused on only people from that faction, anyone else would not be harmed just to sate his wrath. He was more than capable of controlling himself to that degree at least, the problem would come when faced with a member of the Church itself. Nothing would calm him at that point.
"I do appreciate that and I will do what I can to repay that kindness. This is your home, we will follow what you ask of us until you feel that you are able to trust us. Do you have any suggestions as to how we might be better able to prove ourselves trustworthy in your eyes? If so, then please tell me," he figured offering to do something that they felt was fitting for their sense of honor and trust would help prove that he was on their side. With the Church issue pushed to the back burner for now, his mind instead focused on the mission and his own missing group of comrades. Anything as long as it shifted focus away from the current source of his rage, it would help calm his mind to talk about even the most mundane things right now.
"You mentioned that there had not been people here recently, how long ago were people here that weren't a part of the church? And did they crash out in the wilderness or is it possible they went to Memento Mor instead of landing on this planet? I only ask to be as thorough as possible for the mission we were sent on, if you have any information about any visitors it might help," figuring if Arpatiko could give even a small possible clue as to where they might have landed. Tapping his arm lightly he tried to think of how the ship could have lost contact without landing on this planet, had it been outright destroyed when it arrived? Depending on how long ago the pieces could have crashed onto the planet or drifted away in space.
Arpatiko had also mentioned that someone was sent to get the others that crashed which was a good thing in itself, hopefully they would have been rescued by whoever was sent. There was at least one person that he assumed could survive the crash and quite possible the atmosphere of the planet that wasn't covered by the shield. Frigid being an Icejin was naturally a tough warrior, it was the other two he was worried about the most given that he wasn't sure if either of them could survive the crash or the environment. Time would tell with that he supposed, but he really wished that it would hurry up with telling them what happened.
There were so many things for him to think about right now, he had to figure out what happened to his own crew while finding answers regarding the previous one. He would have to earn the trust of Arpatiko and his people for them to be able to truly do anything significant in searching for their targets or even possibly trying to communicate to Zex and tell him there were no signs of his people. Then finally, he would need to figure out a way for them all to get off the planet once the mission was complete, his ship currently wasn't big enough to house the entire crew right now.

As would you all.”
William was shocked by these words, the effect lasting even as the others spoke. First came the guilt, for the intent Arpatiko discerned from the boy’s question was not what had been meant. Then came the shock of having the leader speak the very words Willie had thought upon first hearing the great hunter’s voice. Was it some sort of premonition? More likely though, much like Kurosanai’s knowing of the tunnels, was sheer dumb luck. Either way, the boy was overwhelmed.
Slowly he drifted back in as the situation progressed. These things being talked about were so foreign to the boy. So much had happened to him in such a little amount of time that it had become overbearing. Finding out that he had been absorbed by a Majin, Correction, a technarcana, something he was still only beginning to understand; only beginning to control. He had been a plain, weak boy thrust into a ridiculous situation. Simply put he was outmatched and under informed.
Glancing back from person to person he listened, trying to gather his own thoughts as well analyzing what was being spoken. It was obvious this ‘church’ was bad; having given great enough reason to draw Conri’s wrath. But he still knew nothing about them. Most important, however, was the mission. To William it outweighed all; due to all that rode on it. Thinking of questions similar to Lane’s own, hearing out loud made him think on them further.
He had said it had been a long time since anyone other than the church landed here. It was probably, then, not the exploration group. At least, so he thought. Thinking of this Mement Mor and its ‘cardinals’ and even the oddly named ‘warlock’ near this planet made him wonder though. This had been the general direction the exploratory ship had been heading when contact was lost. If it was not lost here, on Belegost, then it was still in nearby space.
After everyone had spoken, and moments after the final words left the half-saiyan’s lips, William interjected before Apartiko responded. He felt bad, as the leader didn’t seem at ease being talked at by so many strangers at once. Willie could only hope to keep up however, while this warrior was probably the only one used to doing the talking given the general silence of the remainder of his presented race thus far.
“Apartiko, I in no way meant to offend you or your people. I am simply lost to this conversation; please don’t mistake my unknowing for my uncaring. You see, I know nothing of this ‘church’ or its evil deeds. If you could do me the favor of enlightening me, who are they? What evil acts have they committed? I only wish to truly understand the threat we face.
I must ask you more, though I know you don’t owe me such. You mention Mement Mor is located near here; is it safe to say that this, what I can only assume to be some sort of home world for this ‘church,’ patrols this sector of space? I ask only to discern if our comrades may have been intercepted by this enemy.”
He hoped he had been able to pull himself together enough to adequately appeal to both Arpatiko, and even the rest of the group. Willie truly knew nothing of this mysterious organization. In whose name did they commit the crimes of which those present accused them? He hoped he could get the answers he needed to complete the mission; but also to be clued in on this evil religious sect.

Arpatiko considered the youngling name Kuro as he spoke. As he looked him over his scouter built in his headset did exactly as it was designed to do, pinpointing the various strengths and weaknesses of a person, even scaling them down to their genetic make-up, the technology possessed by his people was leaps and bounds ahead of most of the rest of the known universe. The vital points in his body were everywhere. In fact all three of the beings standing in front of him at first glance appeared to be the same, but once the genetic scanning began all of that changed.
The one that Arpatiko found most interesting was the youngest, William of the Watsons. His genetic makeup was very odd indeed. Conri of the Lane was your typical Saiyan, perhaps more special than other saiyans, Arpatiko could not say; he had met very few others. No the only reason he knew Conri was a Saiyan was because of the propaganda spread around by the Church of One.
“It is true that our land is a harsh one Kurosani of the Muzai. Your friends have been met however and all are alive. As we speak they are being tested to see if trustworthy, as you all here have been as well. As for your request of food and drinks, we can oblige.” Another unseen facial gesture would cause a message to be sent out over his mask; one of the guards would turn on a dime and take the elevator down in order to secure them food. Conri of the Lane began speaking once more, and he made it known that his problem was not with Arpatiko or his people, but rather the Chruch. The leader could understand that.
“I, and my people, appreciate the restraint. When my people give their word we take it very seriously, failure to meet what was agreed upon brings about an unhonorable death. I will hold you to the same standard. Do not take this as a threat however; it is in fact a great honor from my people to hold others to their standards. In order to gain my trust, I must first ask of you; we have had no visitors aside from the church in many years, what is the real reason you have come to Belegost? It is not that I do not believe your story, but the likelihood seems… doubtful. Have you come to wage war on the Church?” Then he turned once more to young William. Something about the boy unnerved him, a feat that was very difficult to do. The leader of the Kinigos was a very stalwart man… but the boy… his genetic make-up was… magic? If that were even possible. His voice would give nothing away however.
“The Church of One has a history nearly as long as the universe itself. Their god, Aon, is the divine god of purity. They believe that races should remain linear and pure, not to be meddled with by the genes of other races. Their belief stems from Aon having created all the races as they were, and to mix is an affront to him. And thus they commit genocide on those that mix. Their hatred from Saiyans comes from their belief that once a species dies off it is fate, and anything that brings them back is an affront to that. They have killed billions in this pursuit. They have killed hundreds of thousands of my people, and have enslaved them when we no longer adhered to their beliefs. Do not believe for a moment that one can belong to the Church of One and be a good person, they must inherently have hatred and xenophobia in their hearts in order to belong to it. There is no such thing as an innocent member of the Church. Mement Mor is the local hub of the Church in this sector, and yes it would be safe to say that it was a home-world.”
He paused for a moment, considering what to tell them next.
“There are members of the Church on the planet as we speak. It is they that have met your friends.”

Arpatiko was a good leader, he could see that in the leader of these alien people, and Conri could stand to learn a thing or two about being a leader from this man. Keeping composed with everything that had been sent his way and even being able to answer each person's questions so easily even with Kurosanai's repeated attempts to get underground. When he mentioned they would bringing food, Conri's ears perked up a bit and he focused his attention a bit more, he would be more than happy to partake in some food and drink. Still, if they wanted to earn the trust he was going to have to get this whole thing a bit more organized as well, with three people talking it was hard to get a focused goal from the group. So, he decided that it was time he should try taking the lead on this and hoped that the other two wouldn't give him much of an argument about it.
"We're fine with staying up here for the time being, we don't want to give you any reason to be suspicious of us," he turned to Kuro and gestured with his hand to tone down the wanting to get into their underground. He knew that if someone had arrived on his planet and was constantly trying to get into a place that was essentially their lifeline, he would be a bit suspicious of them. So, Conri wouldn't push the issue and would trust Arpatiko to allow them to enter when he felt it they were safe. Whether Kurosanai listened or not would be another matter, but he would deal with that when it came.
"I appreciate and am honored that you would hold me to your own high standards when I give my word. As to your question, no, we did not originally come here with the intent to start a war with the Church. We were hired by a man named Prometheus Zex, from a place called The Omega Collective to come here and search for an expedition group he sent to explore this system and make contact with the inhabitants of the planets if there were any. However, from what we were told, as soon as they came within range of the planets all communication with them was cut. We were sent here to either find them and bring them back, or find out what happened to them. Unfortunately, it seems they did not arrive on this planet, which means we need to continue looking for clues as well. Although, once we obtain that information, I fully intend on dealing with the Church," he stated at the end. Once his mission was complete, he would be staying and planning out an attack against those bastards.
"Although, on that note, is it possible for us to send communications off planet or are we cut off until we leave the planet's range? Also, I would like to ask...how did your planet get into such a bad state?" his tone was that of concern, though he supposed it wasn't completely necessary if Arpatiko and his people managed to create such a powerful shield to allow them to survive. Still, he was curious as to why the planet was in this shape in the first place and maybe they could try to help fix it. Not likely, but maybe. When Arpatiko spoke of the Church and its ways he remained silent letting William let all that information sink in for a bit. He would do what he could to try and free Arpatiko and his people from enslavement to the Church as well.

The situation seemed to be defusing which only added to Kurosanai’s relief. He had been so worried that he was going to start fighting these weird looking aliens with the really big guns and he was not looking forward to it what so ever. Now Conri seemed to be buddy buddy with the large alien which could only bode well for the group. His eyes drifted back to the barren wasteland as he tried to figure out if this alien…man…thing was telling the truth. If he was truly working for this Universal Church of One which sounded more evil with each passing second then there was no true way of knowing that he would not be forced in a single command to turn on the traveling group of misfits. That was far from ideal but unfortunately the prodigy of the Muzai was going to have deal with it since it was the best option on the table at the current moment.
Unfortunately, it seems they did not arrive on this planet, which means we need to continue looking for clues as well. Although, once we obtain that information, I fully intend on dealing with the Church," Conri spoke with authority. It was truly rather strange how the group ended up turning to him for leadership. Perhaps it was because of the power difference or perhaps it was because neither Kurosanai or the dipstick Willie Watson truly wanted to lead. "Although, on that note, is it possible for us to send communications off planet or are we cut off until we leave the planet's range? Also, I would like to ask...how did your planet get into such a bad state?"
That question was actually a rather intriguing one. If they could contact those off planet then the group might be able to call in reinforcements to aid in the rescue of now not only the group of travelers that they were originally sent to find but also those of the other group who probably no longer had a ship to ride home on. Kurosanai would have to wait for an answer as he did not have anything truly constructive to add to the conversation. It didn’t really seem to be going anywhere. The one place he did want to go though was underneath and down that elevator.

Arpatiko paused for a moment after all the newcomers to Belegost had spoken and again before turning to William. Perhaps to process all that had been said; though Willie wondered if that was all. It had not been long since he unlocked his technarcana origins and was still struggling to really access its full capabilities. Despite all his inexperience; he could still almost feel the alien’s advance technology operating.
It was strange; there was a hunger for it that he could not explain. Gunny’s knowledge would be helpful right now, though they had left on auspicious terms. Despite his brusque behavior he knew something about William’s origins and abilities. He would have explanations Willie needed. But he was star systems away, and though he would be among the first stops upon the boy’s return he was not the most pressing matter.
There is no such thing as an innocent member of the Church. Mement Mor is the local hub of the Church in this sector, and yes it would be safe to say that it was a home-world.”
Then he hesitated. What would give cause for this creature hesitate gave the apparent human a sick feeling.
“There are members of the Church on the planet as we speak. It is they that have met your friends.”
Unbelievable, a universal organization against racial impurity who have committed countless genocides; and there was a member here. William fought from being inundated by the situation. He could begin to understand why Conri hated them so deeply, being a half-saiyan himself, his mere existence went against everything they apparently stood for. Though it seemed as if this evil order were the best bet for knowing the answers of the lost expeditionary team. Perhaps Zex had not told us all he knew; scouting a rival? The boy could only guess at the mastermind’s schemes. Funny, he thought to himself, that someone like me would ever work for such a man.
"We're fine with staying up here for the time being, we don't want to give you any reason to be suspicious of us,"
Conri then motioned to Kuro; pretty much saying to “zip it.” Quite obediently he obeyed, adding nothing more to the conversation as the ‘stalwart commander’ marched on. Willie could not help but find it funny. He only answered to Prometheus and his only goal was to find the missing team, though he respected both Lane’s combat experience and the threat to Apartiko’s people. However, a sweet woman’s life depended on his success.
Also, I would like to ask...how did your planet get into such a bad state?"
Kurosanai merely stared at the elevator while Conri asked of communications. It was a legitimate question; one Willie was keen on knowing the answer to as well. Prometheus would want to be informed of the mission’s progression immediately. However it confused him how the others glanced over an issue. There were members of this genocidal religious covenant on the planet and it was they who welcomed the other half of their team.
How welcoming would they be, seeing as they were not members of enslaved race wishing for an end to the oppression but rather the slavers themselves? Processing everything, William would let the alien leader answer Conri’s question before making his own response, so as to not overload the dangerous looking warrior.
“Members of this sociopathic slaving cult are the ones investigating our friend’s crash? No wonder none are here… I respect you protecting your people’s tunnels, Apartiko of Belegost, but do you have some sort of vehicle for traveling across the surface that I could borrow? These men might have the answers we need and, if they are as dangerous as you say, I don’t think their arrival was as ‘welcoming’ as ours.”
Majins could survive any environment, it was one of few facts the boy new of the mystical race. The others may not be able to get to them without upsetting the local’s traditions, but Watson could. As an employee of Zex, but also as a human being, he felt the need to find out if the others were alright, and help in any way that he could were they not. Then again, I guess I’m not even human anyore he pondered solemnly.
Greatest of all though, if these were men of the Church who were stationed in this part of space, and the vessel was last heading in this direction, logic dictates that they would be the best bet for knowing something about the team. Anything really, the boy would settle for but a clue. First priority was always to save his mother. Upon mission accomplished he would help anyway he could. Before being absorbed, he would never consider such heroics, but he knew with great power came equal responsibility. Or something like that… Hehe…

Arpatiko listened intently to the information that Conri of the Lane was giving him. Another ship? They hadn’t detected one enter space near Belegost… but then again perhaps it was true and it had just gone to Mement Mor. Arpatiko’s people were not allowed to use their technology to do anything towards Mement Mor, the UCOO had made them devise a tool to block out scanners so they would have no idea what was going on. If a ship had indeed gone there, there was no way for Arpatiko to know. It not only blocked out their scanners, communication to Mement Mor was one way, the church contacted you, you never contacted them.
“ I am sorry Conri of the Lane, but if your friends on this expedition group were anything like you, they are more than likely dead at the hands of the church. I cannot know if their ship made it to Mement Mor or if they were destroyed by the church’s planetary defenses. We are not allowed to contact the Church’s planet; it is they that contact us. And I have heard nothing, which means it was not important enough or too important to tell me. As for your second question, any and all communications that leave Belegost are screened by the Church, it is perhaps better that you do not send any long range communications. ”
Arpatiko glanced up at the sky in the direction of Mement Mor, it hung like a tiny moon in the distance. His slave-masters where there. Did they pick up on the ships entering Belegost? It was the first time the leader had thought of that and kicked himself for it. Perhaps there were UCOO soliders on their way now… or worse… a cardinal. There was no way of telling. He could kick the people off of the planet right now… but no he wasn’t going to do that. His suit once again picked up his thoughts and told his soliders to stand down… they were going into the tunnels at last.
“We can discuss the planet’s current state from a more hospitable area. Conri of the Lane, Kurosani of the Muzai, and William of the Watson, you are about to see what no outsider of my people or the church has seen for thousands of years. I am allowing you into the heart of Belegost.”
He turned and began walking towards the massive freight elevator, ordinarily Arpatiko would never turn his back on someone he had met mere moments ago, but he sensed no danger within Conri or Kurosani after talking to them for a while. He was a hunter, he could pick up on the intentions of a creature by their body language, and though he had momentarily been worried Conri had intentions of attacking his people, they were not sated. And so he turned and led them towards the elevator speaking to Zasham as he did so.
“The best way to travel around Belegost it through the tunnels. No doubt that your friends, if they survived the crash and were met by the member of the Universal Church of One, are on this way here at any moment. Going above ground would only make you miss them, and it is possible you’d never find a tunnel entrance again. For now I promised you food.” He stepped into the elevator and turned towards them. Would they come? The sudden change in acceptance into the underground world would seem odd, no doubt, to the recent arrives. Arpatiko would simply hope that they now believed he trusted them, but the truth was, if the church did send a cardinal to investigate, the only way Arpatiko and the others could remain alive was to either send them off world, or hide them in the tunnels.

It seemed that they were rather cut off from the rest of the universe, if the Church was screening all of their messages that went off world then it would be impossible to contact anyone without detection. That added together with the fact that the people of Belegost had no knowledge at all of a previous ship coming to this sector limited the possible options of what could have happened. Not all of them were pleasant either, but he supposed it made sense considering that they were dealing with the Universal Church of One here. They weren't exactly the friendliest of neighbors in the universe, and he could see that certain types of people wouldn't be welcomed by them, especially if any were Saiyans.
"Is there no way to stop them from detecting a signal? If not, I suppose we'll just have to deal with everything on our own and won't be able to report anything until it is all resolved. If there's one truth about the universe it's that nothing worth doing is ever easy," he shrugged slightly. If there was no safe way to send a message then they wouldn't be able to contact Zex and he would have no way to get a hold of Akassa to update her on what was going on either. They were stranded on this planet with a group of enslaved people and were a stone's throw away from the universes worst enemies. He wanted to say something about it, but it would be bad if he did, instead he simply focused his mind on the situation at hand.
"Thank you for allowing us to enter the tunnels, we will all do our best to not break the trust that you have extended to us," he figured this would also make the others happy since they had wanted to enter the tunnels. Perhaps they could learn more about Arpatiko and his people as well when they went underground, there was one question he wanted to know the most.
Conri didn't fear anything from Arpatiko, the leader of these people had demonstrated that he was trustworthy himself by explaining as much as he did and not taking insult to what had occurred there. As far as Conri was concerned that leader had demonstrated his own trustworthiness and he was offering them some hospitality now. He wondered what the underground area would look like compared to the surface area, despite the missions that he now had, he found himself sincerely interested in this new area. They were the first ones not part of Arpatiko's people or the Church that would get to see them in a long time. It had a bit of a fun exploring feel to it, and he stepped onto the elevator with Arpatiko and his people with no hesitation.
