Post by Kurosanai Muzai on Mar 19, 2014 23:24:36 GMT -5
The great mass of an alien seemed to turn on his heel after informing the group that this meeting was starting to draw to a close. He stated that any hope of letting a transmission escape the planet’s nearby area undetected was not one of great hope. This meant that any hope of Conri’s reinforcements that he had been planning to call would not be able to arrive without possibly flying through a fleet of war ships which he knew Conri would not risk. Kurosanai let out a slight sigh of frustration the idea of possible reinforcements did have a certain appeal to the young Muzai as he looked at the aliens up and down. If they turned out to be enemies of the small groups they would surely be daunting enemies meanwhile if they turned out to be benign but this Universal Church of One had others like them in their wings then a fight with this Church could be a very bloody one. Kurosanai did not doubt that Conri wanted a fight with them like that on some level and frankly that made the prodigy of the Muzai worried because if a fight like that came about he doubted whether or not Conri Lane would be able to contain his blood lust. That was a more dangerous thought than that of fighting the Church mainly because Kurosanai doubted whether or not he could defeat Conri Lane in a fight. Then there was the matter of the dense self-serving little pest known as William of the Watson. God he so wished he somehow had fallen out of the ship and gotten trapped on the outside of the shield. But that unfortunately did not happen.
“We can discuss the planet’s current state from a more hospitable area. Conri of the Lane, Kurosani of the Muzai, and William of the Watson, you are about to see what no outsider of my people or the church has seen for thousands of years. I am allowing you into the heart of Belegost.” The massive alien stated as he continued to walk back towards the elevator. Kurosanai leaned forward and began to follow carefully with Conri in between him and the massive alien. His voice was strange almost as if he was wearing some weird crab mask thing that distorted his voice horrendously. It was as they were walking that Kurosanai noticed the massive muscles the alien possessed. The way they moved underneath that strange metallic armor only made the young prodigy all the more certain that if the giant monster so chose he could break his back clear over his knee with little effort. The thought made the young man shutter with a cringe of pain. “The best way to travel around Belegost it through the tunnels. No doubt that your friends, if they survived the crash and were met by the member of the Universal Church of One, are on this way here at any moment. Going above ground would only make you miss them, and it is possible you’d never find a tunnel entrance again. For now I promised you food.” Finally the group would be able to make it into the tunnels that Kurosanai had so accurately guessed randomly. He was not sure what was going to lie underneath the surface but could only imagine that is was going to be some kind of grandiose fashioned statement of power. If it wasn’t than it was going to be a huge let down to the young man.
"Is there no way to stop them from detecting a signal? If not, I suppose we'll just have to deal with everything on our own and won't be able to report anything until it is all resolved. If there's one truth about the universe it's that nothing worth doing is ever easy," Conri stated with a shrug. It was an honest way to ask to make sure that the option was completely off the table but Kurosanai held out little hope for a method to get a transmission through. If these people hadn’t found one yet there probably was not a method to get through the transmission. The last bit Kuro wondered if the Saiyan would take that to heart when the opportunity presented itself for Conri to lower his hand against the Universal Church of One. That would decide his fate and the path he would walk for the rest of his life.
“I wanted to thank you for taking us out of this hot sun. It will no doubt be our pleasure to bear witness to the magnificence that is your home.” Kurosanai stated with as much diplomatic poise. However he felt his stomach grumble as he quickly remembered that he had developed a horrible habit of being a nervous eater, something that was far from satisfactory. He could only hope that somewhere down the line that they would be able to find some kind of food to eat.

The alien leader answered the half-saiyan’s questions and then turned away after William spoke, leading them back to the elevator from which him and his men originally appeared. Willie felt uneasy.
“The best way to travel around Belegost it through the tunnels. No doubt that your friends, if they survived the crash and were met by the member of the Universal Church of One, are on this way here at any moment. Going above ground would only make you miss them, and it is possible you’d never find a tunnel entrance again. For now I promised you food.”
Conri was quick to follow suit after Apartiko. They seemed to have formed a mutual respect. He was obviously eager to see more of his new potential allies. Kurosanai too shared his eagerness though William suspected it was majorly for the tunnels themselves. Willie was hesitant.
"Thank you for allowing us to enter the tunnels, we will all do our best to not break the trust that you have extended to us."
But could they trust them? The alien’s insistence against entering the tunnel suddenly faltering was a little suspicious. Perhaps he had received a message through his helmet? Adding the fact that they could not send communications off planet without it being intercepted by the Church, it all seemed fishy. But he could just be over exaggerating and reading too much into the situation, though he felt as if he had to.
“I wanted to thank you for taking us out of this hot sun. It will no doubt be our pleasure to bear witness to the magnificence that is your home.”
As that over the top reply confirmed, William realized it was left upon his shoulders to be suspicious. The fact that the Church were considered such evil beings, yet it was okay that some of them were collecting the other members of their team only made him worry more. The uneasy hesitation showed how his gut feeling was leaning in his internal debate.
“Thank you, Arpatiko of Belegost, for your hospitality.”
The apparent human stated coolly and respectfully before following suit after the other two were well in place. What else could he do? Left largely ignored, there was no other option then to accept the invitation and join his compatriots. They apparently felt secure with their decisions, and as the minority William knew it would be a waste of time to try and voice his concerns. Not being the type to abandon anyone, he was left with but one obvious option.
Staring at the Champion spacecraft on the landing bay off in the distance, Willie listened to the heavy doors closed rather ominously. They began to lower; as he lost sight of the ship, and then the last rays of light, he tried to focus himself as Vespasian had instructed. Or rather, hammered into him; literally. All he could do is stay alert and hope all his fears were paranoia. Tunnels are good for paranoia, right?

Stepping onto the elevator with him and his soldiers the three visitors showed their trust in him as he had shown in them. Once all were upon the platform it would jolt before started to descend into what they most likely thought was darkness. The large doors hissed shut, closing with a thud that was loud enough to be felt as they were cut off from the surface world. With the Sun now gone only the artificial lights that hung along the walls lit the area as they sank beneath the stone. As the elevator dropped, the gears and mechanisms that were its inner workings hissed, Arpatiko addresses the question Conri had asked before moving onto the platform. ”No way that I am aware of Conri of the Lane. I do not pretend to know everything, but in my experience the Church is quite thorough with its screening. There will be no effort from me to hinder such an attempt although it would be wise to advance down that path with caution.”[/b] Arpatiko didn’t care one way or another if Conri of the Lane attempted to reach out to others. He and his soldiers were stuck on Belegost regardless of what these three chose to do. Of course if a signal was attempted and sequentially intercepted then a Cardinal was going to make his or her way to Belegost. Arpatiko preferred for that not to happen, but it was not like he hadn’t dealt with them in the past. Little did he know that a Cardinal was already here and on his way to their current location. Minutes later the stone walls of the elevator shaft disappear as they enter into a large cavern, the narrow tunnel gone as they descend into the wide open space. The three of them might be surprised at what they see, a large structure dominating the majority of the cavern. Struts and pipes stretched out across the deep chasms, all attaching to the main cluster of buildings and storage facilities on the main part of the structure. Lights shown all through the vast cavern to illuminate it quite effectively despite its tremendous size, the underground world not one of darkness and shadows like some might think. The group would also be able to see freight vehicles moving through the air, delivering various supplies to different parts of the station and beyond. This was only a way station below the surface spaceport they had just left, the first stop among the many different work stations below the surface of Belegost. The whole structure was impressive in itself, but nothing compared to Agartha, the main underground city. ”This is the true Belegost, the world in which 99% of all its residents live.”He did not mean this one area of course, but within the underground catacombs as a whole. To many it was awe inspiring to see so much built underground. There were few places in the Universe like Belegost, and it was a planet few that did not call it home traveled too. Most that wound up here ended up becoming slaves of the underground world. (OOC: This is what the cavern looks like.)

So, there wasn't an easy way for them to get a message out without it being intercepted by the enemy, but did that mean a messenger couldn't get out? There were a few people that he could think of from this group to send, but he would need to be careful on who he sent as well. The one good thing was that Arpatiko was being completely forthcoming with them about the odds and such, it was a high chance against them that they would be able to freely get a message through. He also told them that he would not interfere if they wished to try to get a message out to the people they needed, but still cautioned them to be careful.
"Hm, well, I've got a few ideas we can try, but I suppose we'll have to be careful about each one. Thank you for the advice, I suppose this is a tricky situation all around. The Church really knows how to be a pain in the ass at every turn."
As they descended into the tunnels, however, Conri's attention was brought to the scene of the underground city in all of its glory. He couldn't help but think that the city was beautiful as well, despite that it was underground, in fact it only seemed to accentuate that fact. He had to admit this place was actually pretty amazing to get to witness, glad that Arpatiko had allowed them to see this part of his people's world. The fact that there were more cities throughout these tunnels was even more fascinating to him, he was tempted to ask if they could have a bit of a tour. He decided against it though given that the situation was really not the best to be asking for that kind of thing.
"I have to admit, your people really know how to build a city, Arpatiko. So, what is the plan from here if you have one? We have cut off communications due to interceptions by the Church, and while we have a ship, if we meet up with the others people will need to stay behind because my ship can't carry everyone. We're going to need to figure out a way to deal with this situation. Especially if one of the members of the church discoveries what I am."
He hated to be the bearer of bad new, but they needed to start coming up with ideas for this, if they ran into a member of the church he doubted it would end well. Especially if they had a way to tell that he was a Half-Saiyan or if they revealed themselves as a member, because he wasn't in the best of moods. Although he would at least try to restrain himself for the sake of Arpatiko and his people, they had showed them that they wouldn't just attack them for no reason. So he wanted to do what he could to make sure that they would be safe as well.

The thumping of the elevator as it passed connector after connector was something that seemed to leave Kurosanai on edge. His eyes were his strength and even though he had so desperately wanted to get off of the spaceport landing pad and into the underground he was not exactly thrilled about the prospect of what laid below the surface of this world. The darkness of the elevator shaft clung to every corner of the large metal lift hoping to engulf the group in one single gulp. It was only the passing lights that lined the shaft that prevented the hunger of the shadows from getting at what it truly wanted. The dark posed a severe problem to the prodigy of the Muzai. If he could not see then he was not going to be able to use his family’s fighting style to properly fight. Meaning that he was going to be at a severe disadvantageous if any fighting broke out. Let alone the fact that Kurosanai was not even sure if these guys fought with any form of ki which he suspected they didn’t based on the armor they wore. They looked like they were relied much more on technology then those from Earth. This meant that Kurosanai was going to have to rely solely on his fists opposed to everyone else who had options. He did not have the physical capability of relying on ki like the others. The prodigy of the Muzai bit down on his lips as he thought of this. He vowed after his spar with Conri to grow as a fighter and not to rely so heavily on the family fighting style but he had yet to make a single step forward instead he had only tried out a few techniques. Not a single one had been fully implemented in battle.
The massive size of these aliens did not dictate strength and power but it did give them a physical advantage of the human. He supposed that if this ended up being a trap he could wrestle at least one of the weapons out of their hands and use it that way. That is if the weapon would even work for the young human. There was a distinct possibility that the weapons only worked for the creatures themselves. For all Kuro knew the weapons could somehow be hard wired into the nervous system of each alien and when severed it could not work at all. His teeth sank further into his lip causing pain to shoot through it out of frustration. ‘Why can’t I be more useful?! There has to be a way to improve!’
The elevator dropped out into the open causing a new plethora of light to emanate through the opening in the front of the elevator. It was a combination of natural light and artificial. The prodigy of the Muzai carefully walked forward to get a better view of what they were passing. Outside was a large cavern that held what looked like a small city at the base of the elevator shaft. Lights from the buildings were being met with light from crystals that lined the wall. Kurosanai had studied about these types of gems briefly when he was back in the compound. They were rare formations that were not worth much money but were a sight to see. As the crystals heated up through geothermal currents the molecular makeup would cause the heat to be transferred into light which created a natural dim light bulb. He had never heard of so many being in one place though, as dozens riddled the walls of the cavern. They must be a natural formation that is fairly common on Belegost.
“That is quite a view…” Kurosanai mumbled. This was where the real heart of the spaceport was. It was smart instead of trying to build a massive shield they would only have to build enough for ships to dock everything else was housed down below the surface in this city. The city sat on a small platform that was anchored into the sides of the massive cavern thanks to several legs that were firmly planted into either the floor or the walls. Small ships zipped through the air while they no doubt carried supplies that were eventually destined to make it outside of this world. Even as his eyes studied the sight below they were struggling to adjust to the new low light. He could only assume that once they were way from the city that they would more than likely only relying on the light that they could either create or had on them. Far from ideal when fighting an enemy.
Especially if one of the members of the church discoveries what I am." Conri asked form behind Kurosanai. As the prodigy of the Muzai turned around he found that the tension in the air was definitely less but it was still more than likely that they were being watched carefully.
“I guess the first state of affairs is to figure out what the lay of the land is. We have to consider this Conri. We can’t get off the planet without the other group and we can’t get out communications off world either without them being intercepted. I think our best option is for our group to take cover somewhere in the underground. Based on what I am seeing it should not be that hard to disappear. From there if our new friends would be so kind they could intercept the Church’s drop off of our friends and help them reach us. After that we can try and figure out how we can proceed from there. That is my idea to put forward,” Kurosanai stated with a bit of authority in his voice. Even though Conri was the leader of this little group it would not stop the young prodigy from exerting a little influence and strength sometimes.

”No way that I am aware of Conri of the Lane. I do not pretend to know everything, but in my experience the Church is quite thorough with its screening. There will be no effort from me to hinder such an attempt although it would be wise to advance down that path with caution.”
The alien huntsman replied to their self-appointed leader while standing stoically in the center of the descending elevator, flocked by his men on either side. William considered this a dead subject; if this Church was all they said it was, he had no doubt they would be watching one of their enslaved planets very closely; especially one with such strong residents.
"Hm, well, I've got a few ideas we can try, but I suppose we'll have to be careful about each one. Thank you for the advice, I suppose this is a tricky situation all around. The Church really knows how to be a pain in the ass at every turn.
Willie was awe inspired, to say the least. As they broke free from the miles of tunnel, with nothing but the occasional light lining its walls, they came upon what seemed like a subterranean city. They dropped toward the center of a massive metallic hub of some sort. All around the cavern opened up, whether naturally or through the alien’s own means. Little ships, of strange design, buzzed by and he could even see some of Arpatiko’s people walking along a railing across a chasm.
”This is the true Belegost, the world in which 99% of all its residents live.”
It was a technological marvel, no doubt, but also a symbol of the people’s determination and willpower. They molded the very planet; from the inside out. Kurosanai mumbled something, though William did not hear. Most likely remarking on the tunnels whose existence he so luckily guess; no doubt even this was far more than he could have imagined. Willie could only wonder if this was the central hub of their underground world or if there was a place, or places, even more impressive, and slightly daunting, than here.
A half-saiyan? Wouldn’t be too hard. He sure hoped that these members, who apparently had the rest of their team with them, did not. However Willie had little hope given that a genetic trait of full-blood saiyans was black, sometimes brown, but never blue, hair. Sure, a saiyan could dye their hair, theoretically, but if saiyans are the Church’s greatest enemy then surely they would know such was rare in saiyan culture. He did have a point about the ship though, with the second crashing on the planet they could not leave together, which William would not allow. Despite, obviously, being among the weakest members, something he did not know having not advanced his ki sensing, he felt obligated to them. Perhaps because he was an agent of Zex, who funded and masterminded the operation, or perhaps because he was part of the team, either way he would do everything to keep the team together and, secondly, on task.
That is my idea to put forward.”
It was not a bad idea; William relented, though he resented Muzai’s authoritative tone. Now was not a time for a power struggle or egos. They had no idea of the condition of the other half of their party, the strength or intentions of the Church members who approached, or if they could even trust the daunting presence that was Apartiko. This had the potential to become a viable shit storm. He really only saw one flaw, or rather a place for improvement; though he dreaded the idea the moment it left his lips.
“I think Muzai is right, somewhat. However, if these people are as oppressive as they seem, they will undoubtedly already know there are unscheduled visitors on the planet. If we all hide then Apartiko will have to somehow explain why there is an unfamiliar ship but no crew. Then there’s what they might do to the ship, should Apartiko’s answer fools them. Destroy it, salvage it, or steal it, we’ll be stranded. Also, if they really hate saiyans, and half-saiyans more so, then Conri can’t be here when the members arrive.”
Turning to the hulking alien clad in advanced armor, Apartiko, William swallowed hard before continuing on. He began with the first three words being a lie, though it was of the best intention.
“I am human, so I doubt they would automatically attack me, correct? Here's what I suggest; Conri and Muzai power down and hide a reasonable enough distance away so that whoever this person, or people, is they cannot passively sense them. I will go on and rendezvous with our team and these zealots, see what information I can glean before it, most likely, turns to a fight. After all it sounds like peace is not a likely option with these people. At that point Lane and Muzai would have the element of surprise. Apartiko, could you lead me to the rest of our team and their ‘escorts?’”
The boy’s mind was whirring, as if he was accessing every part of his mind simultaneously in an effort to face the situation at hand. Is this my part of my technarcana powers? He paused to look back to the two after the mechareptillian would reply, if he did, to see what they thought. Kurosanai could come too, as he was human, though Willie thought it better to keep as many cards hidden as possible. Plus, who wants to be bait? Which was essentially what he was turning himself into, as his obligation became a dedication. He was the weakest and therefore expendable in the grand scheme of the mission; the best candidate. Plus, a dangerous job such as this is no doubt why Zex hired the boy; he had an uncanny knack for survival.

The awe that fell over the group was exactly what Arpatiko had been expecting when he brought them down here. The city, one of many, stretched out before them in all its magnificent splendor. It was hard to deny that yes, they did in fact know how to build a city. His people knew how to build a lot of things, but the majority of it was now restricted by the church.
“I fear it will not be hard for them to realize what you are Conri of the Lane. Those that serve the church seem to be able to tell. From our interactions thus far it seems likely to me that you are just as eager to fight them as they are to fight you. My current plan is to feed you and discuss with you, and, to the best of my ability, to prepare you for what’s about to come. Furthering that, we will meet up with the other members of your party. What the outcome to this shall be I have no way of knowing.” The alien would almost seem sad about this, though there was no real way of knowing due to his mechanical translator.
When Kurosani of the Muzai added his imput it cause Arpatiko to chuckle.
“You do not know these caverns as we do young one. Though you may think it would be easy to disappear, we know every nook and cranny that this underground world has to offer. The member that most likely intercepted your friends group was born here, and knows these caves almost as well as we do. There will be no hiding.” It wasn’t meant to shut down Kurosani’s “authority” it was just the simple truth. Hiding was not an option.
“William of the Watson… that is an interesting plan. It may work, but there is no way of telling. If the Church member is in a bad mood he may have already killed your friends and would just as soon kill you as well. This would be easy for him to do. I fear for your safety as well as the others. In truth, I am put in a difficult position. We shall talk no more of this until you have been fed.” The last bit was said with authority, and the elevator finally clanged into place at the bottom of the lift. Two skimmers were waiting for them, and without turning to see if they were following Arpatiko ran and jumped onto the back.
“Conri of the Lane, come with me. William of the Watson and Kurosani of the Muzai take the other skimmer. Lieutenant Tycho will pilot for you.” Once Conri was on the back of the skimmer they would take off towards the city, the others following close behind.

Eyes still focused on the view of the city before him, the combination of natural and artificial scenery blended into a beautiful picturesque view. This is why he would travel the stars as well, for sights like these, the simple yet alluring beauty of the cosmos that was unbeknownst but to a few. Hearing Arpatiko's words he turned his head towards their armored guide, so they did have a way of knowing that he was a Half-Saiyan, that meant his initial plan was out.
"I guess any chance of me getting the drop on him is out of the question then. I guess we can plan things out while we are eating, hopefully there's something that we can do. We'll just have to deal with the situation as the events unfold, but anything you can do to prepare us for going up against him will be welcomed."
Glancing to the large reptile-like creature, it almost seemed like his body language was saying that he was sad, but his voice was giving a different impression. He doubted that this could be an easy thing for Arpatiko given that there could be backlash against him and his people if they failed. That just meant that they couldn't lose then, no matter what it took, they had to bring down this Cardinal.
Both Kurosanai and William seemed to have plans regarding what they should do, but Arpatiko shot them down, and his arguments made sense as well. If this cardinal had already killed the other group, then dividing up their forces now would be especially bad, they would need all the power they could gather to bring this bastard down. When they reached the bottom of the elevator shaft, there were two skimmers waiting at the bottom for them. It seemed that they were going to be riding in separate transports as well, and Conri was to ride with Arpatiko.
Following Arpatiko's lead he took a bit of a run and jump to land on the back of the skimmer, there were some thoughts running through his head. Mostly ways for them to try to get a bit stronger before facing against the cardinal, but he had no idea if any of it was possible, he supposed that would be the main thing to discuss with Arpatiko. If they would be able to talk between each other while riding the skimmer, then he would discuss some of his plans with the leader of the people of Belegost.
"Arpatiko, since we have some time to ourselves, is there a way your people could devise a way to make a secure line for communicating? Or possibly alter a device to do that?" he figured asking while it was just the two of them and in a much quieter voice would prevent too much overhearing of his plans. (blargh, not much posted mostly for feeling sick)

When the elevator landed at the ground floor Kurosanai could feel the cool air in the cavern. No longer were they scorched by unbearable heat even under the shield that protected the spaceport. Now he figured the air was sitting around sixty degrees or so it was actually quite refreshing. As the prodigy of the Muzai stepped out of the lift the grand size of the cavern hit him like a bus. It was truly magnificent in size and grandeur. He could only imagine what it was like to live under the surface of this planet, never seeing the light of day and never feeling the sweet breeze on his face. Kurosanai could see himself visiting this planet to try and discover the hidden wonders that may be locked away in the planet’s underground but to live here there was no way Kuro would be able to keep himself from going insane. For these super beasty aliens this was probably the best place for them to be though he wondered if they were forced under the planet by nature or by this Universal Church of One. Time would only tell.
On the way down the shaft William Watson did something that even Kurosanai found commendable, which pissed him off to a degree, he suggested that he try and lure this Universal Church of One out and if they were hostile only he would die. To give one’s life to protect someone was very admirable, didn’t for one second change that Kuro found Watson to be a dick. Arpatiko was quick to shoot down this idea and Kurosanai’s own suggestion. Right now the group was really at the will of fate and would have to react as such until something better came along. It was far from the ideal situation but the group did not have much of choice.
His heart did jump for joy a bit when he saw the skimmers sitting on the area in front of them. Arpatiko had commanded stated that Conri was to ride with him while the other two rode with his lieutenant. Now this situation had a both good and bad to it. The good being that like a little kid Kuro was excited to ride on this cool little toy, and the bad being that he had to share the skimmer with the dick William Watson. Though in this case the bad would no doubt weigh on Kuro’s fun it was far from enough to truly deter him. With a smile on his face he jogged over to his respective skimmer, placed both hands on the side and hoisted himself up into the sheet opposite of the lieutenant. He was not nearly as massive as his leader but he certainly had the same attitude that his leader had.
“Pilot I am ready to take off whenever you are,” Kurosanai stated with a smile as his eyes darted over the dash trying to take in everything. “You can go ahead and leave the other guy behind. He is nothing but a killjoy.”

We shall talk no more of this until you have been fed.”
William was a little disappointed and still torn. His plan was the most likely to keep the others out of harm, not to mention hopefully get answers if the Church member was in a less lethal mood. But he respected Aprtako’s authority down here. This was the home his people built and was a testament to their strength. Yet he was still torn, for he still had his suspicions of the leader.
It just seemed strange that he would so readily turn on his oppressors when it was the lives of his people at stake. Should he take Conri’s side and fail they would surely all perish as consequence, at least if these fanatics were as evil as the boy gathered from the others. If he was so ready to fight them, why become their slaves in the first place. Surely he was not sitting around in a hallowed out desert planet waiting for someone to come rescue them from their plight. It just seemed fishy to Willie and despite a natural predilection to trust people he could not shake the feeling.
“Conri of the Lane, come with me. William of the Watson and Kurosani of the Muzai take the other skimmer. Lieutenant Tycho will pilot for you.”
As the elevator came to rest and opened, the trio found a pair of machines that were apparently called ‘skimmers.’ They were not bulky and did not seem fitted for combat, simple hovercraft for travel. Conri and Kurosanai were eager to jump on and take their spots on the devices. Conri followed Apratiko and leapt onto the first while Kurosanai pulled himself onto the second.
“Pilot I am ready to take off whenever you are; you can go ahead and leave the other guy behind. He is nothing but a killjoy.”
William rolled his eyes as he stopped at the ledge by the second skimmer. Taking a moment he cast a look around. It was truly impressive and also a great place to lay a trap. He really hoped that the leader was genuine and that they were allies because looking to the Lieutenant he was reminded that the entire race seemed daunting challenges. The boy really did not want to tangle with them.
With a simple hop he took his place opposite Muzai who was just as smugly arrogant as ever. In truth William knew little of the man, besides what he gathered during the media circus of a Galactic Tournament. He was some prodigy but Willie cared nothing for his heritage, only the mission. The begrudging fact was that despite his distaste for the narcissist, he still felt a duty to watch out for him. They were on the same mission and William was intent on seeing it through without any causalities.
“Lieutenant Tycho, if you don’t mind the ignorance of an alien, could you tell me about your people? You seem like a fascinating, and strong, race. These tunnels and your technology are all beyond impressive as well.”
Noticing Conri and Apartiko having their own discussion when he looked over, William decided to engage the pilot. After all they knew precious little about these people besides what they have had the liberty to see and be told. Plus there was a sinking pit in the bottom of his stomach which had a crazed fascination for their technology. The boy could not explain it and instead pushed past to try and learn more about their ‘hosts.’

The two weaker members of the party did exactly like they were told and boarded the skimmer lead by Lieutenant Tycho. The Lieutenant would immediately begin to activate the skimmer causing the engines to hum into life. It gently lifted off the ground and waited for his leader to direct the path of these outsiders. Both had spoken to him however he felt no need to make small talk to either one of them. His job was to follow the orders of his leader and as such would carry them out to the letter. Arpatiko pressed a few buttons on the dash causing the skimmer to stir from its sleep. He had in turn grabbed the controls of the skimmer and turned it with precision before it slowly began to speed off with the second skimmer in tow. The two would turn down around the corner of a short street before ducking into one of the connecting tunnels. Instantly the two skimmers would be enclosed in a smaller tunnel. The small tunnels were the really the only way to travel on Belegost.
“Conri of the Lane as far as I know there is no true way to communicate off world without the Universal Church of One intercepting the transmission. They control all the satellites in the system and would notice immediately any strange communications. I will not risk my people’s safety for a single message.” Arpatiko stated plainly. Conri had asked this question before and he would receive the same answer.
As soon as he finished the statement the tunnel opened up a little bit into a larger cavern. Several sets of scaffolding littered the walls as several separate passageways connected to the deeper mines that funded the wealth of the planet. The lights on the front skimmer lit up the larger part. As it did the light fell on several figures on the other side of the room. As the leader spotted the group he began to slow the skimmer in order to not accidently hit them.

Everyone got on their respective skimmers and the two groups took of towards the city, and it seemed like things were moving along for them. It was just a matter of coming up with a plan that they could utilize in this situation, which was why he needed to make sure that there was absolutely no way to get the message out without detection. The answer to his question seemed to indicate just that as well and that Arpatiko was a bit worried about just what kind of retribution that message would bring on his people. Which he could understand the concern, but he wondered if Arpatiko would feel the same if he knew that the single message could bring about reinforcements that could make the Church worry.
"Well, the call I can make would bring a powerful set of reinforcements but that's only if it can get through at all if communications are out completely, then do you know where the Cardinal would be coming from so that I can try to ambush him before he can do anything? If I can catch him quickly enough it shouldn't take more than one strike, but that's if you want me to take that route. I suppose it's more up to you on what you would like to do, but I think we should start working on options."
As they passed through a cavern into a larger one, he looked above at the scaffolds that connected to different paths, it seemed that the planet was one big maze down here. It wasn't until the skimmer started slowing down that Conri turned his head to look at what was going on in front of them. From what he could tell they were going to hit the group that was in front of them, which seemed like an odd thing to do considering who was driving this thing.
"What's going on?" he asked simply, wanting to know why there was the slow down and just what was happening here. He really hoped that it didn't wind up being a trap, as that would serve to actually make him angry. However, he didn't have enough information, so he wouldn't just jump to conclusions like that without anything to back it up.

Emerging from the tunnel Sebastian had to squint some as multiple lights hindered his eyesight. Very familiar with the skimmers that were the main source of transportation throughout the tunnels of Belegost he was sure that is what the group was traveling in. Arm lifting to shield his eyes the human smiles some, blinking against the blinding light. Their initially assessment of multiple individuals was most likely due to the way the numerous lights hit his form, perhaps showing a number of shadows on the cavern wall behind him. He had been correct; Arpatiko was present along with other signatures, three of which that he did not recognize. More new comers? Interesting, he had not remembered any arrivals that were scheduled today then again he had already met with three unexpected visitors. Strange…that two separate parties of three would find their way to the well hidden Belegost on the same time, and within such a narrow window of time. Blinking again, the blonde calls out to the party. ”Greetings Arpatiko, it seems that you have visitors with you. May I ask that you all turn off those horribly bright lights and exit those vehicles so I can properly welcome you to Belegost.”[/b] Using the same light and cheerful tone he had been using with the other three Sebastian hoped no to alarm any of them with his request. No able to see much of anything through the bright lights he hoped to put faces with the power signatures he sensed, some of them quite impressive compared to his own, although they wouldn’t be able to get a read off of him thanks to his jacket. After his request he would slowly drift forward out of the tunnel and gradually towards the skimmers, his bukujutsu easily able to sustain his altitude. One arm still hovering over his eyes until the lights were shut off his other hung loosely at his side, he adapted the same relaxed body language he had used when greeting Zero, Banduk and Frigid. The Lieutenant did not welcome the stranger’s question with a candid response. In fact, he said nothing at all as the machine whirred to life beneath their feet. Lifting and turning towards the other, Tycho followed his leader’s skimmer into the cavern. The creature did not even acknowledge their presence, nonetheless their words. Uneasy feelings resurfaced as he silently thought over the preceding events in his mind.
“Conri of the Lane as far as I know there is no true way to communicate off world without the Universal Church of One intercepting the transmission. They control all the satellites in the system and would notice immediately any strange communications. I will not risk my people’s safety for a single message.”
Apartiko stated bluntly once more, obviously with little enthusiasm for answering a question more than once. William began to wonder if it was the truth, or simply the ‘truth’ that he was ordered to dispense. The boy’s worrisome nature and inability to trust strangers had been becoming increasingly more overwhelming as events progressed.
Conri was persistent and William began to wonder about these ‘reinforcements’ that the half-saiyan wished to call in. Watson knew little of the man besides his ship and his claim to fame. Who were these people he was so eager to call for help? He was half-saiyan, so perhaps someone on New Vegeta, though there were as many habitable planets in the universe as seconds in a year, so it could potentially come from anywhere.
"What's going on?"
The tone in Lane’s voice caused Willie to snap out of his though provoked trance as he noticed the tunnel they had just been traveling through opened up into a rather vast cavern. Most troubling was a solitary human floating up to the skimmers, his hand shielding his eyes from their forward lights. He was alone, which only gave the boy further cause to worry.
”Greetings Arpatiko, it seems that you have visitors with you. May I ask that you all turn off those horribly bright lights and exit those vehicles so I can properly welcome you to Belegost.”
The fact that he was not of the same race as Arpatiko and his men, as well as his ornate clothing seemed to imply that this was the Church member in question. The same one who had went and ‘greeted’ the half of the team which crash landed. Thus, the fact that he was seemingly alone furthered Willie’s uneasiness. Unable to sense signatures to the degree of others, he could not tell that the others were a little ways behind him.
“I am William Watson; pleasure to meet you.”
The boy said, standing in the skimmer. Unable to fly, and having no control over the operations of the vehicle, he could not do what the man asked and disembark or shut off the headlights. In attempt to mirror the mysterious, well dressed, man’s candor however, he replied in a manner which hid his true feelings. As he stood, a dark silhouette behind the glare of the lights, his hands were cupped behind his back; where he slowly pooled energy as discreetly as possible.

Post by Kurosanai Muzai on Apr 22, 2014 13:18:36 GMT -5
The skimmers took off with the driver of his particular skimmer staying deadly silent. He didn’t so much as react one bit to the wise crack that Kurosanai had thrown his way. The guy was stiff and seemed to only follow commands which did not exactly make the prodigy of the Muzai feel great. The driver was worse than the douche Watson that sat across from him. Though Kuro did pick up on the fact that even Watson was put off by the silent treatment, once again it was one of the few moments that the two of them were on the same page. He would have to put it out of his mind and instead try and focus on the scenes that were flashing past his eyes. The way the tunnels were made and that they were carved from the very stone made them interesting to watch. He even saw scaffolding along the sides of the tunnels that helped construct the numerous other pathways that were littered throughout the walls. If he had the time, and a guide he trusted, Kurosanai would have loved to go exploring through the caves in an effort to try and find some kind of hidden treasure. Unfortunately that was not the reason he was here though. At the current moment his team was trying to figure out what had happened to Zex’s previous crew and how to see the safe return of the other team that had traveled with him. There was also the complication of this Universal Church of One that supposedly enslaved these people, which Kuro found hard to believe, and Conri’s apparent obsession with the idea of wiping them out of existence. Despite being a skimmer back and the air ripping past his ears he was able to pick up Conri pushing Arpatiko. Which only made the massive leader rebuke it definitively.
“Conri of the Lane as far as I know there is no true way to communicate off world without the Universal Church of One intercepting the transmission. They control all the satellites in the system and would notice immediately any strange communications. I will not risk my people’s safety for a single message.” The way the leader spoke was plain and a reminder that whatever Conri was trying to do was not going to go over smoothly. If he was annoyed the leader hid it very well.
I suppose it's more up to you on what you would like to do, but I think we should start working on options." Conri responded in turn, whoever these reinforcements were that Conri so desperately wanted to arrive on the planet it was unbeknownst to the prodigy of the Muzai. Their de facto leader never spoke of anyone and as far as Kurosanai knew Zex wasn’t sending anyone else, it would be up to them to protect themselves. Whoever they were he hoped that Conri knew what he was doing because if they shared the same obsessive hatred as then this situation would no doubt just devolve into mass chaos. And Kurosanai feared that if they were powerful enough to make it to Mement Mor that it could quickly turn into a massacre.
“He needs to cool off a bit…we will figure out a plan…” Kurosanai mumbled under his breath as the skimmers jetted into an adjoining cavern. The way the rock was perfectly carved away just made Kuro appreciate actually being able to travel the universe even more. It was something that he would not have been able to do not too long ago. Suddenly the skimmers began to slow causing the prodigy of the Muzai to snap out of his trance and back to reality. The lights from the skimmers appeared to be illuminating a single figure, although the different angles made it look more like a group, standing in front of the two groups. Instantly Kuro could feel Watson’s energy hit a new level of tension as he prepared himself mentally for possibly a fight.
”Greetings Arpatiko, it seems that you have visitors with you. May I ask that you all turn off those horribly bright lights and exit those vehicles so I can properly welcome you to Belegost.” The figure stated with a pleasant tone to his voice. It took some squinting and focusing but soon Kuro was able to tell that the figure was not like the giant aliens that scared the living crap out of him but rather was a human dressed ornately. Sensing an impending fight Kurosanai activated his eyes was an idea of how powerful this man was what he saw shocked him greatly. The only place the prodigy of the Muzai could see ki pathways was his head and his hands, everywhere else was bare. This wasn’t possible, he could see any living organism’s energy pathways and unless his eyes lied to him this man was clearly alive meaning something very strange was going on.
Then Watson decided to make the first move. He stood up in the skimmer and with a proud voice introduced himself, ““I am William Watson; pleasure to meet you.” As he did Kuro’s eyes snapped back to him to see the man was proving to be a fool and was acting rashly. In the palm of his hand he was charging a single ball of ki. Apparently Watson had not considered whether or not the pilot of their skimmer would attack them over this action. Leaving Kurosanai in a very precarious position, and as such would have to act very carefully. Instead of introducing himself Kuro decided to remain silent and slouch down in the skimmer. As he did so he would suppress his power as much as he could. Combined with the weights he was wearing Kurosanai would probably appear at least power level wise close to what the planet’s inhabitants were, or at least he hoped. If Watson wanted to stick his head out and have it short off that was his own prerogative but Kuro was going to live.
