Man raced ahead of his teammates. He leapt for miles on end without a need to stop and take a breath. The mechanisms aiding the function of his body as an android, enhanced his stamina and thrust strength to an unhumane degree. He could run for hours on end without breaking a sweat and jump higher and farther than any mortal being. His limiting heavy weights served to shorten the full breadth of his displacement, making him touch ground more often than usual as he shoots off the tip of his foot -barely touching down before setting flight once again. The gravel, despite his increased weight, made no sound or crack but the small clouds of debris lifted at his wake. Zero's sleek arms dangled loosely beside him, pulling back as he progressed the long and spacious tunnels. His long golden hair trailed behind him, following his exact motions as smooth as the wind, up and down it flowed.
His scouter beeped steadily, tracking the location of the other team. He had no idea how far Sebastian might have gone as his scouter could not detect his energy signature. The very thought that something could not be detected by his scouter was a troublesome thought worth contemplation. The only two entities in the entire universe which did not give off a power signature were androids and the dead; the blond human was neither -and even then, his scouter could still read androids. What's more was that odd ability of his, which continued to intrigue the android; he wonders how Sebastian could produced such an interesting barrier without any trace of ki to detect it. Man suspected the answer to his questions lie in the sword he possessed. The white and blue sword was so delicately and exquisitely crafted to match the man's embroidered garb. Zero's design was much more simplistic, although gilded in metal, he had nothing but his gauntlets and boots, the helmet-like structure over his head, and a red jacket over the black jumpsuit encompassing his entire body.
He continued to ruminate over the secrets of the sword. He only made the connection between the barrier and Sebastian's blade when it vanished instantly after the human extracted the embedded sword from the hard scorching ground. He compared it to his own saber, different in concept yet similar function: One was but a handle which generated energy to form a green sheet of translucent ki sharped to a blade and the other a more conservative design. The similarity was their apparent ability to produce energy without being detected. However, none of these observations explained why he could not read a power level from the human. Zero glanced back to check on his teammates. They were still following behind, not that he expected otherwise. The group was as silent as the android's energy signature. They spared no words to each other, an introverted lot including himself, it was almost as if Zex had matched them according to personality. The pensive Banduk, the collected Frigid, and the calculating android each to their own. The dead air served as a bed for thought and reflection. He could only guess what might have been going through the other's minds, probably eager to meet with the rest of the group.
In his short past, Zero has had much time for reverie. When he was not training, on a mission, or under maintenance, the scientists stored him in a small and empty room like a parked car. His eyes would wander aimlessly at the blank wall, staring for hours to come without any sense of time; how long has he been standing there -detached and disconnected? He had nothing but himself and the thoughts programmed into his microprocessor. One would think him the wisest monk who ever lived with so much time to meditate away from the distractions and silly events of society. However, he thought of nothing he could recall in the proceeding moments, not until now that he actually had something to think about. Before, there were nothing but undeniable laws preached by his creators like sacred words from a holy book; and then he learned that the ranks only grew taller as he met more masters filling him with ultimatums and enforcing their beliefs on him. Zero's world was one of numbers and facts. Everything was absolute and determined. There was no uncertainty. Until now...
The android's mind traveled back a few hours to the moment their spaceship was struck by the planet's frenzied atmosphere. Man was promptly shut down along with the ship, transporting his consciousness to a bizarre realm he had never experienced before. He wondered whether that was how it felt to dream for a living being. His body was shrouded in darkness as he floats in a suspended state around nothingness. The voice from a familiar stranger filled the hollow vacancies with its warmth, and exposed the android to offbeat sensations foreign to his cold metal body. The man's voice painted the face of a heartfelt entity, but it struck with poisonous needles and dread. The android's hollow chest suddenly felt heavy and blown out of all proportion. The presence of this ostensibly gentle soul brought with it a great burden that drowned the android in a sea of inexplicable dysphoria. In the end, the mysterious man vanished without answering any of Zero's questions and leaving the android in turmoil to reconsider his identity and name.
Zero rest his hands over his chest, stupefied and baffled, he wondered whether any of it was even real. Did he really feel? Did he really dream? -Or were those just predetermined programs fooling his naive mind?
Finally, the tunnels opened and light illuminated the dark cavern. Sebastian's shadow was cast over them as he approached. Blinded by the headlights of the odd vehicle, he could only see the silhouette of the man's regalia as he floated off the edge of the tunnel to greet the newcomers. That's when he stopped, limited by his inability to fly he stood at the edge to watch as another being exited the vehicle. Zero did not know who it was until he heard the familiar voice. I am William Watson; pleasure to meet you.” Something was wrong, Zero thought, his scouter going off to the spike of power originating from the human. He did not know what Will was doing, but in an effort to have him stop he makes his presence known. None of them would have detected his presence until the moment Zero spoke.
"Mr. Watson!"

The voice spoke to Arpatiko almost seeming friendly, but there was something about the way he asked for the lights to be shut off and for them to introduce themselves that bothered him. Plus given that they were trying to keep out of sight of the Cardinal currently was likely not a good thing either, but he had no idea who this guy actually was; only suspicions. It was the fact that he didn't know that was keeping his anger in check, otherwise he would have instantly been at this guy's throat without a second of hesitation. He had given his word to Arpatiko that he would not harm his people directly and with that meant not just attacking anyone that looked different or dressed fancily. Instead, he would prepare for the possibility that this man was the Cardinal they were supposed to be avoiding, just to make sure that he could utilize his full power if the need arose. Plus, thanks to the heavy weights, he was sure even Arpatiko was underestimating his full power which meant that he would need to keep it that way until he was ready to deal with threats.
Eyes glancing towards the other skimmer with William and Kurosanai, he couldn't just do anything he wanted here anyways. Those were, at least, two other people that he had to make sure stayed safe, and without knowing where the other group was currently at, he couldn't do anything for them. Plus Arpatiko was still technically a wild card if the Cardinal did show up, so it was best to prepare for every scenario. Especially when it was just the two of them on the skimmer, so he shifted somewhat to remove his jacket and the heavy weights that were embedded within it. Instead using his Ki suppression to keep his power at the same level it had been with them on, that way they would think his power was much lower. If they fighting came he would be able to power up full without wasting time getting rid of his jacket, which was no sitting beside him.
A familiar feeling began to wash over him now, as his adrenaline began to start pumping into his system. It almost seemed like time was starting to slow down a bit, but he knew that was just an illusion due to his heightened senses. They were the first sign that he was getting an adrenaline rush, it seemed that his body was preparing for a large battle, and given the situation he could understand why it was reacting that way. Hopefully Arpatiko wasn't going to turn on them when the Cardinal did show up, but he did make his intentions clear on the matter. Which was why Conri would trust him until the member of the church showed up, because then it was a different story altogether. The guy floating before them wanted the group to exit the vehicles and turn the lights off so that he could see them. Which was immediately going to put Conri at the disadvantage if he did that, but there was little choice if he wanted to try to keep a low profile. At least, until they found the Cardinal, which could be sooner than later if his suspicions were right.
Using his telekinesis he exited the skimmer and kept himself aloft with the human that was currently shielding his eyes. The tone of his voice seemed friendly, but the way he was demanding that they introduce themselves to him seemed to contradict it a bit. It sounded less like a request and more like an order from him, however, he would comply peacefully for the moment. He could feel his adrenaline pumping even more as if preparing for the moment that he would be attacked, he could feel the sweat starting to form along his skin. It would take a few more moments before he was in a full adrenaline rush, but hopefully if this wasn't who he thought it was he could calm himself down quickly enough.
He floated in front of the man waiting for him to say something while the others remained on their ship, he assumed it was because neither could fly. Still, at least William had introduced himself, he wasn't sure what the human was doing but figure it would be something to keep the situation peaceful. It was when the android came out from one of the tunnels and called out to William that his eyes locked onto the man before him once more, but his gaze shifted to Arpatiko waiting for confirmation on if he was the one the leader had been talking about being on Belegost.
Damn it, this wasn't a good way to start things off underground, if Arpatiko gave an affirmative for his unasked question then Conri would have to launch an all out offensive.

Lights still in his eyes Sebastian could not clearly see the individuals before them, at least not in a great amount of detail. What he saw were the outlines of the various skimmers as he waited for the riders inside of them to disembark. Even without his eyes the blonde was well aware that there were several signatures he was not familiar with, knowing a trio of the passengers were at least relatively new to Belegost he was anxious to find out who they were. Squinting through the cursed headlights the Cardinal saw one of the skimmers hatches slide open as a figure pulled itself out. Able to see a decent outline of the individual Sebastian was fairly confident he was human, the man soon introducing himself. ”I am William Watson; pleasure to meet you.” A small smile began to take shape on the blonde human’s face, thinking that this was going to be another pleasant round of interactions similar to when the first trio of explorers had come across him. The only thing that prevented it from being exactly the same was this William Watson was gathering energy behind him, presumably in his hands, both of which were tucked neatly behind him. With his current base level at 45,000 and more power hidden in reserves the Cardinal had no reason to worry about the strange reaction yet, perhaps the man was just playing it safe since he was on a strange world, understandable. The second of the individuals took a different approach then stepping free of the craft, the hidden member of the team signature starting to drop down from what he had originally read it as. Another interesting reaction, was this one familiar with Ki sensing abilities? Sebastian had already taken a read on all of them so regardless of how low the stranger suppressed it the blonde what level he could reach with a thought. Quite a patient man Sebastian continues to wait for the other two to exit their skimmers, his attention drawn from them for a moment as a familiar voice calls out from behind him. “Mr. Watson!” With an eyebrow arching the Cardinal was surprised that Zero had caught up so quickly and even more surprised that he knew the man standing before him. So the parties were familiar with each other then? Now that seemed to be more than just a coincidence, the android obvious knew the man in front of him from some previous experience…they must have traveled here together even if riding in two ships. The fact this had not been brought up before hand was curious indeed, had the first team been trying to hide the existence of the other for some reason? In several more seconds Sebastian was sure he knew why. From the third skimmer, the slumping man in the second still trying to hide himself, the third member of their group arose. Squinting and shielding his eyes the best he was able with his hand Sebastian looked the man over. He had strange blue hair, lighter than the blues mixed into the Cardinals own outfit. The man’s clothes were the opposite of Sebastian’s, mostly black compared to his clean white, but the feature that stood out most was the tail that came from his backside. Seeing the silhouette of the appendage the blonde lets out a sigh…things had been going so well. A Saiyan had come to the home of the Universal Church of One, something that Sebastian De’Vont, Cardinal of Truth could just not allow. Able to read the Saiyan’s power level, assuming the beast was at least capable of using that monstrous Oozaru form Sebastian unleashes is full power, the human’s signature still unreadable as his blue aura bursts to life, his power quadrupling up to 180,000. ”I am sorry, I do not know your name, but you chose to come here…a grave mistake. Arpatiko, prevent the others from interfering. Use force if necessary.” Not being an overly violent man Sebastian still had a duty, the Saiyan race having brought this fate upon themselves. In his mind it was a simple matter, the Church and the Saiyans could not coexist, one needed to be eliminated. With his short statement the Cardinal draws his blade in one quick motion as he launches himself towards the blue haired Saiyan. Now at his full power the human attacks the Saiyan directly, opening his assault with a one handed horizontal slash. As the blade swung inward those able to follow his fast movements might notice the feint blue glow around the edge of the blade, hinting at more than just a keen edge. Luckily for Conri he had already removes his weights for he might be fast enough to move out of the way, if not…his body would drop towards the cavern floor in two pieces. Frigid emerged from the cave, only moments behind Zero. The android had passed him inside the catacombs, his speed impressing the slender Icejin. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust, but as they did, he made out multiple figures standing below them. Kurosanai, Conri, and even the more unfamiliar Mr. Watson. Sebastian was near them, another man to his side. Obviously this brute was a native, like the blonde man.
Frigid hovered over the edge of the cave, looking to Man, then back to the others. There was curiousness in his eyes as he watched the events unfold, his ears picking up on only a fraction of conversation: ”I am sorry, I do not know your name, but you chose to come here…a grave mistake. Arpatiko, prevent the others from interfering. Use force if necessary,” Sebastian; his once friendly tone changing into something far more horrifying.
Frigid had been right to not trust him, and as the man charged up, and sent and attack towards Conri, all became obvious, "Its a trap!" He shouted, not sure exactly what had started such a thing. Turning towards Man, Frigid held out a hand, "Grab hold; Maybe if we try to flank the big guy, one of us can help Conri."
Knowing Banduk would emerge from the cave at any second, Frigid wanted to waste no time, "We've got them outnumbered; as long as we keep it that way we should have no problem tearing them apart!"
Though each individual's power levels were shrouded, it made no difference to Frigid, who couldn't sense power levels in the first place. The Icejin knew how powerful he was, as well as how powerful Kurosanai, Conri, and Banduk were before they'd left the Collective. Frigid had even spared with the Saiyan-Prince, which he matched hit for hit. There was no doubt in his mind that the team could take these two men.

William had hoped that the light of the skimmers, which concealed him and his teammates, would be enough to also conceal his ‘preparation.’ That the rise in power would be passed off as the fluctuating power levels of the three individuals. When Sebastian arrived without his Man, Frigid, or Banduk in tow, Willie tried to act quickly in hopes of saving the others. While he was weak in comparison to the others, he knew if he gathered enough energy that he could help.
“Mr. Watson!”
It was then he noticed the android on a ledge not far off. With his lack of signature, Willie had not seen his approach. Not like it made much of a difference; the boy was still a novice when it came to sensing ki. The inflection of his mechanized voice however gave Watson pause. Though he did not relinquish the charge, neither too did he act. Is there something he knows that we don’t?
Then Conri rose from the cart by some means of flight and drifted into the light, to facedown this supposed Church Member. It was then William noticed the quickly evolving features of the ornately dressed human. No doubt he noticed Lane’s inherent racial trait, a thought punctuated by the accompanying sigh.
”I am sorry, I do not know your name, but you chose to come here…a grave mistake. Arpatiko, prevent the others from interfering. Use force if necessary."
From there, things deteriorated quite quickly. In lightning speed, far surpassing what the man seemed capable of, he unsheathed a sword which even caught William’s eye; for the few moments before he tried to impale the half-saiyan with it. It was a marvelous weapon teaming with mystic energies which intrigued the boy in a manner which he could not accurately describe.
It was similar to the urges he felt when first inspecting the alien’s advance technology at their first meeting; like some hunger which, when left unsated, ate away at him from the inside.
"It’s a trap! Grab hold; Maybe if we try to flank the big guy, one of us can help Conri. We've got them outnumbered; as long as we keep it that way we should have no problem tearing them apart!"
Frigid acted quickly upon catching up to Man, attempting to grab the grounded android and make an attempt at a shock and awe offensive. Hail marry pass if you will. Mentally shaking off this undying appetite, he pulled his palm, pulsing with translucent red ki, from behind his back and, still standing on the skimmer, aimed it inches away from the head of the pilot; Lieutenant Tycho. He then turned his attention to the alien leader, now sitting alone atop his vehicle; his words cold and firm as his power spiked.
“Stand down, or one of your own will pay for your complacency… Please Arpatiko, we do not wish to cause any harm you or any of your people.”
Despite the coldness of his action, given the boy’s usual weak hearted nature, he could not help but hope for an end before it ever really began. Not just for these slaves of the Church, but also himself, as despite his passive nature, the demon within was itching to embrace the chaos.

It was happening so fast. One thing right after another. First the android that Prometheus Zex had made join the team as a late addition like the idiot William Watson. He could not remember its name as he had only met him in that one brief encounter. But as he entered into the cavernous chamber they were located in he burst out and called for William ‘Whiny’ Watson out of shock. But what happened next really sealed the deal on the events that were unfolding. It was becoming more and more clear that tensions were rising. Almost everyone in the room could feel the tension growing and Conri being as brash as he was floated into the air just above the skimmer that he was originally riding in. As he did so the ornately dressed man seemed to notice the tail of Conri Lane and then spoke with cold and remorseful tone.
”I am sorry, I do not know your name, but you chose to come here…a grave mistake. Arpatiko, prevent the others from interfering. Use force if necessary." The ornately dressed man stated before flying towards Conri at unbelievable speed. He drew the sword that hung from his belt before slamming into him and dragging him out of view. Kurosanai’s mind began to engage into hyper thought as his eyes darted around the room. ‘Was this Arpatiko’s plan all along? Was this really just a trap? What are they going to do against that beast?’ It was in this thought process that he was suddenly pulled out of thought as a familiar voice boomed across the cavern. Kurosanai immediately looked over to see the icejin Frigid standing in the same mouth of the tunnel on the other side of the room.
"It’s a trap! Grab hold; Maybe if we try to flank the big guy, one of us can help Conri. We've got them outnumbered; as long as we keep it that way we should have no problem tearing them apart!" Frigid yelled from across the room. Kurosanai was not quite sure what Frigid was going to do but based on his language. The prodigy of the Muzai could only assume that the icejin was going to toss the android across the room. Where that destination was going to be was beyond him. It was shortly after this that ‘Whiny’ William Watson decided to grow a pair and actually do something remotely constructive.
“Stand down, or one of your own will pay for your complacency… Please Arpatiko, we do not wish to cause any harm you or any of your people.” The ki continued to gather in his hand which seemed to cause the ball of energy to double in size as he pointed it the driver’s head. Lieutenant Tycho was probably going to have a not so nice day if the blast did in fact go off right against his head. Personally, Kuro was going to have to slap Watson later for even providing the opportunity of accidentally getting hit with that mildly powerful blast. But that would have to be for some other time. Kuro sank a little bit with a sigh and rested his head on the edge of the skimmer there was really no choice.
The prodigy of the Muzai rose to his feet and tossed away his coat. It would hit the cavern floor with a thud, inside were his weights. He rolled his head to the side as his power returned back to its normal level.
“While you deal with the minion I will deal with the man that helped lay this trap.” Kurosanai stated as he leapt through. He would angle himself just above the skimmer that held Arpatiko. “To think that you would approach us in good faith only betray us in your own damned tunnels!” Kurosanai would yell as he clapped his hands together. Instantly an arch of flames would shoot downwards from the prodigy of the Muzai. He doubted they would cause the fight to end right there but it would certainly provide the opportunity they needed against this beast of a monster. Immediately after doing so he would create distance and fly off towards Frigid and the android with his back towards them in order to keep an eye on Arpatiko. This was going to be a fight. As he landed though there was only one thought in his head, ‘How in the hell did I just do that? It felt so natural and effortless…’

The things that Arpatiko didn’t want to happen were happening. The group had met up with the Cardinal of Truth, Sebastian De’vont. The hunter hadn’t expected the two groups to run into each other so quickly. De’vont knew who the group was right away. Obeying, the massive creature switched off the lights. Willaim of the Watson stood and introduced himself. Perhaps this would go better then the alien leader had originally thought.
Then the red flashing lights appeared on the aliens headset. Willaim of the Watson was charging an energy blast. A message appeared on his visor. Tycho was asking what he should do about the one charging the blast. It was an idiotic move. The large alien had expected better smarts from the small disturbing creature, but he had apparently overestimated him. What the Kurosani of the Muzai was doing the hunter couldn’t see, but he was being smarter than the boy.
Two of the others of the party appeared, though Arpatiko didn’t notice him until them until one spoke, something that uneased the alien. The tension was thick in the cavern, filling it despite it’s size. The two newcomers were odd, one looking to be a human and one a species Arpatiko had only ever seen in holograms and clips. Icer. His scouter quickly read both newcomers and found something interesting about the one that looked like a human. It wasn’t. It was an android. Arpatiko had been around androids for near his entire life, and the church often sent them as liaisons, they had developed scouters that could detect if the representatives the church were sending were organic or not. It was a failsafe if they ever needed to go against the church, as they were better against machines then organics, with their advanced technology.
Conri of the Lane exited the skimmer, and the hunter’s hearts sank. Arpatiko’s eyes shifted from looking at Conri to looking at De’Vont and back, but behind his mask the leader appeared as stoic as ever. This was going to be bad. This was going to be bad for his people. This was going to be bad for these newcomers.
His worst fears were realized. De’Vont’s words cut through the tension in the air. De’vont’s power rose to the same as Arpatiko’s due to his battle-suit. He was naturally powerful, Arpatiko’s was artifical through intellect. Sebastian ordered Arpatiko from preventing the other’s from interfereing, even telling him to use force if he had to. With heavy hearts he turned towards Willaim of the Watson and Kurosani of the Musai, keeping the newcomers on his radar as well.
The Icer yelled out about this being a trap. It hadn’t been, but that is what it had turned into. The hunter had no wish to harm any of these newcomers or William of the Watson or Kurosani of the Musai, but he cared more for his people then anyone of them. It was a choice he had made a long time ago. His people came first.
It was then that William of the Watson did something foolish. With the energy he had been charging he threatened the life of Tycho. Arpatiko stared at him, though the boy could see nothing through the visor. Threatening the man was not the best way to go about this. Arpatiko had no wish for any of them to be hurt. Conri… would be an unfortunate loss. But there was no need for any of the others to die.
“William of the Watson, you are making a very grave mistake. I have no wish for you or Kurosani of the Musai to die. Nor do I wish for your two friends to die either. You are not enemies of the Church of One. Do not interfere with the battle and you will all live.”
Despite his words Kurosani stood and removed his outer layer. It thunked into the cavern floor. Kurosani’s power grew, but it was still vastly below Arpatiko’s. His words showed a clear misunderstanding of the situation, but what was to be done? It appeared to be a trap, and it had the same effect as a trap, so it was a trap. Just an unplanned one.
“I must do what is best for my people however. Stand. Down. I have no wish to kill you.”
The boy clasped his hands together and unleashed a torrent of flame upon Arpatiko. The heat shields activated and covered his body with a thin blue glowing aura. They had to deal with extreme temperatures on the planet all the time. The line had been crossed though. He had wanted to not have to fight those that could potentially help him, but perhaps there was no helping his people. Perhaps they were to be slaves to the church forever. Especially if outsiders were this easy to distrust and turn.
The cannon on Arpatiko’s shoulder turned and fired three shots into Zasham. It was programmed to non-leathal plasma, but would instead stick to and shock the boy, causing momentary paralysis. Tycho would then twist around and attempt to tackle Zasham from the skimmer. Their power levels being roughly equal Arpatiko had confidence that Tycho could handle the disturbing human. Then Arpatiko turned back towards the other three. He tapped a few buttons on his gauntlet.
“You are given a final warning to stand down. Any further resistance will be met with lethal force. Do not make me do this.”

For some unknown reason he was unable to detect Sebastian’s power level; it was blank and nonexistent, like a ghost, but Man would soon learn of his true strength. The human stood before his teammates; Mr. Watson was already on the offensive while the others attempted to shield their presence as much as possible. Man had failed to reach Sebastian in time; he could only imagine what the human might be thinking as he discovers that there exists an unannounced party with whom Man’s group was associated. He did not know what was happening, but he called out to Mr. Watson in hopes to calm him down, and to show Sebastian that they were no harm to him; they were allies. However, in spite of his efforts to maintain peace and keep everyone on task with their mission, it was already far too late as all hell breaks loose before his eyes.
Conri Lane steps out of the vehicle, with an arm over his face to block the blinding light of the skimmer, Man only sees the saiyan’s silhouette. He deduced the shadow’s identity by reading off the energy signature from his scouter. The headlights of the vehicle were promptly shut off and an eerie silence befell upon the group, soon filled by the stern and authoritative voice of Sebastian, the miner who greeted them at Belegost’s surface. He drew his blade, coated by a clandestine blue membrane and charged at the saiyan. His movements were so fast the android lost sight of him, by the time he shifted his eyes in search of Sebastian’s fleeting image, he was already locked in combat with Conri’s blade.
Then, Frigid comes veering out the cave behind him and shouts. "It's a trap!" His voice rebounded throughout the cavern as the icejin flew just inches ahead of the android and reached out to him. "Grab hold; Maybe if we try to flank the big guy, one of us can help Conri," a reasonable plan, Man thought, but he wondered whether they would actually serve of any help to the saiyan; perhaps they would only get in the way. Furthermore, Man was convinced that this was all a misunderstanding. Thinking his head any clearer than his teammates, he refused to jump to conclusions while the probability of avoiding a fight existed. Becoming enemies with the natives would not bode well for the prospect of their mission. Losing their aid would mean they could not get to Mement Mor, nor find the lost crew they were sent to find. There was a discrepancy looming about and Zero was not comfortable with his limited knowledge of the situation. He demanded answers.
"I'm afraid that is not possible," the android solemnly responded. "I do not understand why Sebastian is fighting Conri, but what I do know is that we are gravely outmatched. According to my scouter, Conri Lane is currently emitting a power level of 178,240 and Sebastian –although I cannot read his energy signature from some unknown reason, he fights the saiyan on equal ground; therefore, I must deduce that Sebastian’s power level is very similar to Conri’s. As things stand, we would only get in Conri’s way if we were to attempt to help him. This is his battle.” Understandably, Zero assumed his words would upset the icejin. Frigid didn’t seem like the type of person to give up in the face of numbers –and Zero either if it were required, but he was assigned to the mission because he had the best critical thinking skills necessary to complete the mission in one piece. Right now, he found no logic behind the drama which had surfaced from nothingness.
Then, during the spur of the moment, Mr. Watson turned on one of the pilots in the skimmer. His tactic was rational, Zero thought. He had been charging his attack long enough to pose a threat. Taking one of their men as hostage was a great idea; however, it didn’t seem to work this time around. “William of the Watson, you are making a very grave mistake. I have no wish for you or Kurosani of the Musai to die. Nor do I wish for your two friends to die either. You are not enemies of the Church of One. Do not interfere with the battle and you will all live.” Zero raised his eyebrow, interesting, he thought. Just as he had determined, there was no reason for them to fight, the man called Arpatiko said so himself –so why were they fighting? The Church of One was a term new to the android; it also caused curiosity to stir within his mind. In all honesty, the android would have obliged to their terms if it meant staying alive and keeping track of their mission to find the lost crew, losing Conri Lane was of little worry to him, one saiyan less to exterminate; however, he knew his team thought otherwise.
Kurosanai, the human, rose from one of the vehicles and tossed his cloak. The garment fell beside Zero with an audible Thud!, promptly after, his power level climbed to what Zero inferred to be the human’s maximum strength. Rushing towards a skimmer, Kurosanai released a stream of flames which engulfed the entire vehicle along with Arpatiko. Regardless, the man appeared to be unharmed and fired at Mr. Watson. Zero was soon distracted by Conri’s energy level, which had drastically deteriorated out of nowhere. The androids eyes were fixated on a glowing sphere that rose to the very top of the cavern, illuminating every corner of the city. Momentarily hypnotized, his eyes slanted on the blitz wave, the visage of a beast stole away into his consciousness. The monster roared at Zero, red angry eyes full of anguish and despair. The same thing occurred to him during the Intergalactic Tournament, by which the stupefied android blacked out. Zero could not allow the same thing to happen to him again while faced against his enemies. How unfortunate for his teammates if the ‘sophisticated’ android were to adapt a comatose state for the second time in their trip.
Zero would not accept becoming a liability again. Nose crunched, electricity sparking sporadically and discreetly, the android wrenched away the odd sensation. Opening his eyes once again, he saw the beast once more; except, this time he was blue. Conri’s power level rose to heights unseen before. Glancing at Frigid, he was sure the icejin was convinced that the saiyan did not require their assistance. Zero’s consciousness returned to the present just in time to catch Arpatiko’s last warning, “you are given a final warning to stand down,” he said. “Any further resistance will be met with lethal force. Do not make me do this.” Having assessed the situation to the best of his abilities, the android set aside the troublesome riddles of his identity and focused on the task at hand; Zero revealed himself so he could be best seen and not obstructed by his teammates, although he could only go as far as the edge of the tunnel he stood upon.
“I concur,” he replied to the mechanized being. Although Zero was an android, unbeknownst to others –including him, he used to be a normal person like everyone else. His voice was soft-spoken, like that of a young man. “My name is Zero. We do not wish to fight any more than you do, Mr. Arpatiko. We have been sent here to Belegost in search of a lost crew and would like to be out of your way as soon as possible. Could you please explain to me why Sebastian is attacking our comrade when we have done nothing to deserve it? I do not believe this to be a trap, for there is no apparent reason behind it.”

Man declined Frigid's plan, giving good reasons. Conri could handle himself, that he'd proven in the tournament when he faced the Icejin. ”178,240” Frigid thought, surprised. Conri hadn't been that strong when they last fought. If this were truly the case, Frigid was sure the android was correct. Nodding, he would turn his attention to the chaos in front of him.
William attacked, Kurosanai attacked; neither seeming to have a good effect. Frigid winced, turning his attention to the large ball now in the sky in the background. Conri, already resorting to his Oozaru form. Surprised, maybe Man was wrong. If he needed to transform so quickly... Remembering just how much of a boost that gave him before. A sly grin slid across his face.
Arpatiko told them to stand down. They would not be harmed. Turning, he watched Man introduce himself. This time as Zero, his voice sounding much different. He agreed, surrendering. Frigid eyed the young android, wondering just what was happening before offering a hand to help him to the floor of the cavern, where they could speak with this man.
Frigid didn't trust him. He hadn't trusted Sebastian either. But maybe Ma-Zero was right and this was all just a misunderstanding. Whether or not Man took Frigid's hand, he would drop to the floor of the cavern, meeting Arpatiko, and stepping forwards, seconding Man's question but staying silent. There was no reason to repeat the question. Frigid would simply ready himself in case of an attack, and hope the others would follow suit.

The arrogance of the Muzai sank in his seat before sighing and laying his head on the skimmer’s rail. William rolled his eyes. Never before had William wanted to truly cause someone harm, but he simply could not help but loathe the insipid pretty boy nor his asinine actions, and worse yet his words.
“William of the Watson, you are making a very grave mistake. I have no wish for you or Kurosani of the Musai to die. Nor do I wish for your two friends to die either. You are not enemies of the Church of One. Do not interfere with the battle and you will all live.”
It’s apparent that his obedience had taken away his clarity. Willie had never been the hero; only a boy trying to do right by his broken family. Even so, there was no way Watson, or any being with a soul, would simply stand by and watch their comrade murdered. How could it be a grave mistake to threaten one of his people but acceptable for Conri Lane to die because of his race? Just as Arpatiko would defend his own, so would the apparent human.
Meanwhile Kurosanai discarded his weighted jacket, followed by a power increase. Willie could not say by how much, only that Muzai’s presence suddenly felt stronger.
“While you deal with the minion I will deal with the man that helped lay this trap.”
Said the fairy before floating off the skimmer in a position facing Arpatiko. Eat dick and die, princess. The boy’s widened a bit, surprised by Zasham’s sudden vulgar articulation. Could he feel William’s hatred and feed off it? Or perhaps he just loathed the jacket stealing prima donna too. Either way, it was the only time he had heard the monster’s voice and had not been terrified.
“To think that you would approach us in good faith only betray us in your own damned tunnels!”
William’s palm burned with ki as it hovered behind the Lieutenant’s head; rippling red energy pulsing between his fingers, ever growing. As the back and forth deteriorated he could not feel the demon at the forefront of the alien’s damnation; usually so quick to whisper encouragement in such situations. The ‘hunger’ panged him in the pit of his stomach once more and he knew; it desired the technology. Hmph; the boy had no intentions of giving Zasham what it wanted.
“I must do what is best for my people however. Stand. Down. I have no wish to kill you.”
Then Kuro released all the hot air which comprised his body into a torrent of flame at stood unflinching as his advanced armor compensated for the sudden increase in temperature. Transparent blue shielding flickered to life, incasing the warrior and protecting him from harm. Once Muzai’s feeble attempt was rendered useless, the cannon adorning Arpatiko’s shoulder turned and faced the boy.
Immediately the boy reeled, bringing the hand teaming with ki at the fore front as three odd projectiles fired at William. Unleashing a charge 2 Vanishing Beam right at the incoming attack. If it was strong enough to destroy them then it would continue on to Arpatiko, though it would certainly be treated in the same vein as Muzai's attack. If it just managed to match the glowing orbs it would result in a large explosion. No sooner had the beam left his hand Tycho shot to his feet, spinning and diving onto the apparent human, whom could not move to defend.
However he had no intent of escape. As they tumbled from the skimmer and fell into the utter darkness he turned and weaponized his other hand into five monstrous serrated razor digits. Using all his strength he buried them into Tycho's side. No doubt the armor was thick; but the blades were long. Though he likely did not reach anything vital, he was sure he had gotten deep enough as he gripped the digits into him, forming quite the painful hold.
To pull free would be agonizing; the serrated talons were hooked. Disappearing into the impossible darkness of the cavern's depths Tycho would look into Willie’s eyes, surely using some alternate vision as there was not enough light to see, and see that Willie was not quite the same anymore. The white of his eyes had blackened the brown turned crimson. The Lieutenant would also find that these horrifying eyes were fixated on his own; as if staring straight through the helmet. They showed the face of a being not afraid to die; and drag the assailant right down to hell with him.
“You are given a final warning to stand down. Any further resistance will be met with lethal force. Do not make me do this.”
A distant murmur could be heard as they crashed into the side of the cavern, hundreds of feet below their allies, surrounded by complete darkness. The collision kicked up a large cloud of debris around the pair, only further obscuring them. However it mattered not, as they continued about their business.
“I concur, my name is Zero.
It was astonish to the boy that the two were so ready to just stand there while two of their own were being assaulted. Watson could only wonder the lies Sebastian had been feeding them. Willie held Zasham at bay while harnessing the beast’s power, though his eyes still reflected the well from which the strength was tapped. Then the Lieutenant's cannon turned to focus on the boy within his hands, however by the time it locked onto him, Tycho would be taken back by he being in his grasp. It was one of pure darkness, further blending into the surroundings, though its eyes remained as they were; though now they seemed more fitting.
Zasham had pulled free, his razor like teeth glimmering in the warrior's heads up display. Then the alien would feel a sting in his side and look to see the creature's hand liquidating and pouring into his chest through the cuts Willie had made when grappling the being. The cannon would never fire as Tycho's life faded, before the creature completely enveloped him in a mass of black. There, implanted into the side of a mighty cavern, the amorphous midnight blob twisted and contorted as William, Zasham and Tycho struggled for control.
The majin was too weak to fully control his powers, especially his absorption. The strongest personality wins, and William's drive to protect and save his family had always given him an edge. Zasham was too young and lacked the maturity to remain in control of the body. Tycho, however, driven by a fierce loyalty to Arpatiko and his people, pulled ahead. When the body finally took form, it was that of an armored Kinigo. Grabbing his armored head, Tycho would try to understand, to remember, what had just happened.
Looking around he saw that William of the Watson was gone; so he must have destroyed him with the cannon. Noticing that none of his technology seemed to be working, from the scouter to the communicator to the cannon atop his shoulder, he surmised that the boy must have disabled his suit somehow in the scuffle. A cloudiness hung in his mind; William unwilling to be defeated. Shaking off the odd feelings which overwhelmed him he summoned his strength and leaped high into the air, landing on the skimmer he had just tackled the boy off of less than a minute ago.
"Commander, William of the Watson has been dealt with; what is your next order."
He hoped Arpatiko would forgive him for speaking, and hoped more that he would scan and see that the suit had been damaged by William of the Watson, leaving him unable to communicate through normal Kinigo means.

The fire that Kurosanai launched seemed to fizzle out right around Arpatiko as a small glowing blue shield that wrapped his body. As soon as the flames dispersed the cannon on his shoulder turned and fired at William Watson. A wave of ki shot from his hand at the objects that were fired from his canon. However due to the sliding when he landed, due to the excess force that he had not compensated for from the fire and how quickly things went to shit Kurosanai missed what happened to the prick William Watson. All he saw was the young man fall off the skimmer they had been riding in and plunged into the dark abyss of a nearby crevice with the former pilot now turned enemy grappling for supremacy. Kurosanai cursed under his breath as he doubted that William Watson would be able to make it out of the fight alive meaning that now Arpatiko was responsible for the future death of his comrade. The leader of the weird looking aliens warned about not wanting to turn this fight into a lethal one. Kurosanai could not believe his ears. What he could only assume had been the Cardinal of the Universal Church of One that Arpatiko had spoken about suddenly appears out of nowhere, he then attacks Conri with deadly intent and tells the oversized action figure to make sure no one intervenes. It was those that Arpatiko ‘worked’ for, Kuro highly doubted that the Universal Church of One truly had that much control over these monstrosities of creatures, that were trying to kill his teammate, his friend and one of the people that he would like to rival.
I do not believe this to be a trap, for there is no apparent reason behind it.” Kurosanai was not immediately familiar with who said that idiotic statement. So it took him a moment to realize that it was in fact another one of the last minute additions to the team that Prometheus Zex had. When he turned a look of confusion adorned the face of the young prodigy of the Muzai. He could not believe what he was hearing. Literally only moments ago the Cardinal of the Universal Church of One appeared and attacked Conri. They were literally having a fight to the death not too far off, William Watson was going to get killed and this stupid mechanized man wanted to talk things out.
“You have to kidding me?!” Kurosanai roared as he wheeled on his heel. “We are going to try and talk with this bastard after he led us all into a trap?! He lead us straight to the guy Conri is fighting and then he lets his guy tackle William Watson into that damned crevice!” Kuro yelled as he pointed with his extended arm. “He is ordered to make sure we don’t fight to save Conri Lane using lethal force to make sure of that! Well guess what, Watson is the first victim! He is now left to fight that man…thing’s right hand servant!” It was one of the few times that Kurosanai flew off the handle but what he was hearing was the most obnoxious thing he had heard in a long time. “We were given the job of rescuing the team that Zex had sent this way, and when Arpatiko tells us that they are not here he leads us into this trap! He is nothing but the Universal Church of One’s damn dog! He is only here to follow his master’s orders; he is nothing more than a mindless follower!” Kuro knew the last bit was not true but he had been suspicious of the massive alien since they arrived on the planet. Obviously his suspicions proved to have some form of basis. He turned on his heel and pointed directly at Frigid, the Icejin who had beaten him during the galactic, and an opponent that he wanted a rematch with before he returned home. That thought would burn in the back of his mind the entire time.
“Frigid, you of all people should not be sitting on the sidelines. You are forced to watch as your friend fights for his life while his opponent’s dog is told to keep us busy. If you don’t do anything you let that man die and it will be on your hands because you refused to do a damn thing! I heard stories of when I was on Alpha Prime that after that fight you had with Conri, one that I would assume earned your respect for him, that you two drank until the sun rose. Now tell me if I am wrong but to me that sounds like you to are friends to me. So now you sit on your hands waiting for him to get killed and then for us to be picked off?! If you are then you are clearly someone who does not deserve my respect!” Kurosanai continued at the top of his lungs, he had to get Frigid on board otherwise this fight was going to end horrifically for the prodigy of the Muzai. His eyes flitted over the mechanized man that stood next the Icejin.
“I don’t know you. I won’t claim I do but know this. Either fight by my side or get out of the way.” Kurosanai stated in a very cold manner. He didn’t need an overly drawn out speech for him. If he chose to sit out of the fight then he clearly was picking which side he was allying him. With that he turned back to Arpatiko and took a deep breath. It was the first time that he would have to fight for his life and only hoped he could bring honor to his clan. With that his power level spiked to double of what it was now which was just about his max power level.
“I may not be powerful enough to beat Arpatiko right here and now on my own and I know I am not going to be able to fight the Cardinal on my own…but I cannot claim that I protect those I love if I sit on the sidelines right now. I don’t know about you…” Kurosanai stated with his aura causing his hair to wave in the wide he was emitting. “I REFUSE TO LET MY FRIEND DIE!” The words would echo around the room. Immediately he would bring his hands to his waist and fire would begin to gather in a ball in his palms. This new power of his would have to come in handy otherwise Kuro was going to have to fight Arpatiko in close combat a prospect that he was not looking forward to. He hoped that his speech would be enough to stir at least Frigid from his apathy, if not the prodigy of the Muzai would most likely die.

The shots Arpatiko fired ripped through the air with a slight shock of electricity coming off each one. Their main intention was to at least for a moment incapacitate William of the Watson so that Tycho would be able to use that opening to hopefully subdue the young man. The attack worked in a way that the leader of the Kinigos had not fully anticipated. William of the Watson turned the ball of ki and fired it upon Arpatiko. For a moment his view of the other skimmer was blocked the blast of ki ripped through the air. It met the shots fired from his canon, though it would slow them down it would not destroy them. The leader of the Kinigos leapt off the skimmer he was standing on just as the beam crashed into it causing it to erupt in a fiery explosion. When he landed on the cavern floor William of the Watson and Tycho had disappeared. After a quick reading of his scanner he saw that Tycho and Watson had fallen into the nearby crevice. He trusted Tycho to get the job done. He then turned his attention to back to the group.
“Android, you are correct this is not a trap. He attacks Conri of the Lane because that is his self-appointed duty as member of the Universal Church of One. One of their core tenants is to remove the Saiyans from existence once again.” Arpatiko stated in a cold manner. Finally someone who was not being dictated by his emotions but just as a hope emerged it was quickly dashed away. Kurosanai of the Muzai began to speak with fire in his voice. He insulted the leader of the Kinigos and stated his own case before what he could only assume were the other members of his party. He knew that the speech was designed to be a rallying cry. Meaning that the probability of successfully executing a peaceful dialogue was disappearing, and then his heat sensors began to pick up the sudden spike in temperature gathering in Kurosanai’s hands. Unfortunately the leader of the Kinigos could not successfully disarm the man without pulling the others into the fight. The only thing he could do was prepare a counter attack if it did indeed come to violence. His hand reached behind him and rested in the middle of his lower back. If the boy wanted to attack then he would have to deal with a throwing glaive for his troubles.

The Universal Church of One, it was the first Zero had ever learned of its existence. Arpatiko's words only brought more questions to the table, questions the android meant to have answered if the human had not exploded in their faces. Who was this Church and why do they hunt down the saiyans? However, Kurosanai was an illogical being led by his irrational emotions. His first statement was flawed. Yes, Mr. Watson was attacked by the mechanized man; yes, he was being attacked by the man's minion; regardless, Mr. Watson also took the initiative of taking Arpatiko's man hostage. On the other hand, he only did that because Conri was assaulted by Sebastian, but Mr. Watson instigated the tension among the group the moment he exited the vehicle and began to charge an attack in his naivete.
The human's emotions were lost on the android. He could not understand what kind of mentality would lead someone to such faulty reasoning. Even if Arpatiko let them participate in the fight uncontested, Conri and Sebastian's battle was out of their league. The cardinal need only point a finger in his current state and render them useless. Zero could not read his powerlevel, but he could read the saiyan's and they were fighting in levels they could only dream of. If Kurosanai were to defeat Arpatiko and then intrude in their battle, his good intentions would only thwart Conri's effectiveness. If Sebastian chose to follow Mr. Watson's example and take one of them for hostage, he doubted the saiyan would have the audacity to fight back in the event of his friend's endangered life.
The android was at a lost. He glanced at Frigid, wondering what the icejin might have thought about it all. True, Zex had given them orders to retrieve the lost crew, but losing his current crew in the process would defeat the purpose. As things stand, Zero admitted that the success of the mission depended on their ability to work together, but things were going out of hand quickly as Kurosanai began to charge an attack and the skimmers were promptly dragged away by a mysterious force. The vehicles morphed into spears and headed out towards Conri and Sebastian. Giving it no more thought, his mind focused on the situation at hand. What did he agree on and what did he disagree on? Conri Lane was their teammate, although they probably didn't feel as motivated at Kurosanai, they could not just allow him to die. However, Arpatiko clearly demonstrated his unwillingness to fight. Even now, as Kurosanai threatened his life, the mechanized man stood idle in hopes that the fire might diffuse.
He only stood in their way because Sebastian told him too -and with good reason, because he doubted anyone in the planet could stand up to the cardinal. Not to mention, something told him Sebastian was just one of many. They may defeat this cardinal now, but Arpatiko would have to deal with the others while they returned to their homes and their daily lives. It was no wonder he would so willingly follow orders. In the end, there was a decision to be made and while asking Arpatiko questions would satisfy the android's need for knowledge, it would not solve the current problem. Sebastian was determined to take down Conri for whatever reason and he had the obligation to help, however, if they help if would be the right way.
"Arpatiko," the android said decidedly after brooding over all the events that have transpired, "if what you say is true, then I am sorry to say there is no avoiding this fight as long as you follow your orders. I have been appointed to this mission to ensure its success and the safety of my team. However," he directed the following to the human, "Kurosanai, although I understand your desire to save a friend -he lied- I must express that your good intentions will only hinder Conri. Their battle is out of our reach, jumping in now would only put you in danger and distract him. By helping him, you are killing him. I propose you trust your friend's strength and wait until Sebastian has been weared down."
That was the key to winning the fight, he thought. As things were, it was pointless to fight Arpatiko if they could not help Conri anyway. On the other hand, Sebastian's stamina will eventually and inevitably dwindle; that is the time for them to join in and help the saiyan, but Arpatiko would have to be apprehended by that time. Zero could not fly, and with the skimmer out of the way, he had no means of travel. He looked towards the Icejin, "I suggest you transform," the android stated, reaching out with his hand similarly to how he had done in the beginning.
